Bridget Ziegler is embroiled in a sex scandal that exposes the hypocrisy of the “don't say gay” extremist education movement she co-founded: she was caught on tape having sex with another woman during a threesome encounter with her husband. This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. Moms for Liberty is a Florida-based organization, with more than 300 chapters in 48 states. It claims to advocate for “parental rights at all levels of government.” 1 In reality, they push for banning children's books and literature, fight against diversity, inclusivity, LGBTQ children, and rail against sex education and the teaching of Black history. The Moms for Liberty cult-like following believes there's a widespread conspiracy in American schools to expose children to “woke “concepts about sexual orientation and gender identity that don't conform to their idea of traditional family values. Of course, they joined the Ron DeSantis' “Don't say gay” campaign. 2 But as it turned out, Moms for Liberty is right-wing education movement with a huge hypocrisy problem. Co-founder Bridget Ziegler, who's also a member of the Sarasota County School Board in Florida, and her husband Christian Ziegler have been caught in a sex scandal that threatens to end the organization. Moreover, Christian Ziegler who is also the chair of the Republican Party of Florida and a big Trump fan, was accused of rape. 3 1. “What if I told you could help to save America for as little as $150 by investing in school board races across the country that conservatives could win. No seriously. In this episode Carl speaks with the VP of School Board Leadership Programs at the Leadership Institute, Bridget Ziegler. Bridget currently chairs the Sarasota County School Board in Florida. She's a wife and mother of 3 young daughters that left behind a lucrative career of 15 years because she saw how the left was brainwashing and sexualizing our kids in school. Not only did she help draft the Florida Parents Bill of Rights, she also played an instrumental role in Gov DeSantis's EO that stopped school districts from forcing mask mandates on students. Bridget, along with the Leadership Institute, is focused on taking back the nation's K-12 public schools one school board seat at a time by training parents that want to run for school board how to message and win those races in their area. Bridget Ziegler was among the 30 school board candidates to earn the endorsement of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis this year.It was a novel approach for a governor to endorse school board candidates, but one that paid off big time for conservatives who support education freedom and parental empowerment. Nationwide, many first-time candidates won election to school boards. And in Florida, all six DeSantis-endorsed candidates on the November ballot won their school board elections. For the year, 24 of the DeSantis-backed candidates were victorious.Even though Ziegler's election took place in August, she's continued to play an active role in school board elections nationwide as the Leadership Institute's director of school board programs. She joins "The Daily Signal Podcast" to talk about her experiences on the Sarasota County School Board and how she's leveraging what she's learned to help others through training programs at the Leadership Institute.Listen to other podcasts from The Daily Signal: https://www.dailysignal.com/podcasts/Get daily conservative news you can trust from our Morning Bell newsletter: DailySignal.com/morningbellsubscriptionListen to more Heritage podcasts: https://www.heritage.org/podcastsSign up for The Agenda newsletter—the lowdown on top issues conservatives need to know about each week: https://www.heritage.org/agenda Hosted on Acast. In this episode, I focus on the educational leader as a variable. How can an educational leader make a positive difference in the school community?Former school board member, Eric Robinson, joins Dr. Lisa Hassler to discuss the educational leader variable in the education system and the importance of policy. He is an U.S. Navy veteran, managing partner for a CPA firm in Venice, boards of directors for United Way of South Sarasota, South County Habitat for Humanity and Sarasota Humane Society, member of American Legion Venice Elks Lodge and Sertona of Venice, former chairman of Sarasota Manatee International Airport a former trustee for the State College of Florida, served on the Financial Advisory Board for Sarasota County School Board, currently on the audit committee for Sarasota County Schools and was a board member for Sarasota County Schools. While in office as a school board member, Eric used creative methods to bring attention and help to the needs in his district through policy reform. In order to close the achievement gap , he helped change the curriculum at Emma E. Booker by using salary to purchase books. He also proposed a way to help Sarasota School District help recruit teachers to help in the teacher shortage by offering teachers free after care and pre care for their students. From mowing lawns and other janitor duties, to donating his salary to purchase curriculum, he listened and advocated for the people in his district like no other. So here is the call to action: find out what problems are in your school system and be the voice for change through policy. It is my hope that educational leaders, teachers, and parents be a part of a policy solution to change the educational system in America.Support the showPlease subscribe and share this podcast with a friend to spread the good!If you find value to this podcast, consider becoming a supporter with a $3 subscription. The Washington, D.C., FBI field office that raided former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate and is investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol breach is led by Steven D'Antuono, who ran the bureau's Detroit field office when, trial testimony alleges, it instigated, encouraged and facilitated what the government charges was a plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

Many conservatives in Florida contend that parents should have a greater say in the education and care of their children. Schools have a role to play, they say, but should not be allowed to substitute their judgment for that of parents — even when children attempt to assert their own rights to privacy. Florida lawmakers have proposed a new section to state statute outlining the rights they believe parents should have enshrined in law, assuring that school districts and other governments cannot keep them from fully participating in the raising of their children. Sarasota County School Board member Bridget Ziegler, who helped write the legislation and stands among the most ardent supporters, speaks with reporter Jeff Solochek about the initiative and why she thinks parents need a stronger voice written into law.
