WORST. COMIC. PODCAST. EVER!

On this week's episode of the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!: Obi-Wan Kenobi debuted on Disney+ over the holiday weekend with the first two episodes of the six-episode season. These episodes had all of the feels! Familiar faces, familiar characters, even familiar voices. Seriously, if you did not like these episodes, we would kindly suggest you take a one-way Bantha ride through the Jundland Wastes to the Dune Sea.  News surfaced this week of the apparent success (so far) of the 3W3M Substack with features Jonathan Hickman, Mike Hiddleston, and Mike del Mundo. Doing well enough that they are bringing in editor Steve Wacker to oversee the line. So we revisit the Substack concept and if this is now showing more viability as an ongoing channel for your entertainment consumption. We look at 52 #39 where we can assure you that despite the claims on the cover, neither the Question nor Renee Montoya appears in this issue. Oh, and now Lex Luthor has powers.  We have our Pick 3 selections, sponsored by our friends at Clint's Comics in Kansas City.  We would love to hear your comments on the show. Let us know what you've been reading or watching this week. Contact us on our website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or by email. We want to hear from you! As always, we are the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! and we hope you enjoy the show. The Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! is proudly sponsored by Clint's Comics. Clint's is located at 3941 Main in Kansas City, Missouri, and is open Monday through Saturday. Whether it is new comics, trade paperbacks, action figures, statues, posters, or T-shirts, the friendly and knowledgeable staff can help you find whatever it is that you need. You should also know that Clint's Comics has the most extensive collection of back issues in the metro area. Where did you start for Rogue Sun?The hero in a super-suit is practically a trope at this point with Power Rangers and Gieger, why do you think this type of hero continues to interest audiences to this day?Abel's art is insane, with a thin detailed line that sets this book apart, how did you two connect for this project? In the grand scheme of things if given unlimited resources, how long would Rogue Sun run on for as a series?Dylan is an intriguing character because he's also a troubled bully, which is a unique angle. DCOCD is the DC Comics EVENT PODCAST where we discuss, contextualise and rank every single DC event in order starting with 1985's Crisis on Infinite Earths up to... we're not sure yet. When the DC universe takes a year leaping forward, the 2006 weekly series 52 fills in the vents of the missing year. Paul and Mike discuss this event from Greg Rucka, Geoff Johns, Mark Waid and Grant Morrison with a host of artists led by Keith Giffen, all behind lavish painted covers from JG Jones. This remarkable achievement in comics was edited by Steve Wacker and Michael Siglain. On this episode of Word Balloon, we begin our two part conversation with artist and Image Comics Co-Founder Rob Liefeld. In part 1 Rob talks about what it's like working as a free lance artist at Comics Big 2 publishers Marvel and DC. He just finished an 8 year stint at Marvel which included such projects as Onslaught Reborn, Deadpool Corps and many covers. Currently Rob is drawing Hawk and Dove as part of DC's New 52 initiative. Rob compares the current strategies of the 2 companies as he sees them , including what's happening for both at the film and toy levels, which he sees as key indicators on where their publishing is currently focused. Then Greg Rucka is back for part 2 of The Rucka Debrief, answering fans questions about the current status of fan favorite projects like Queen And Country and Stumptown from Oni Press, along with reflecting observations on "52", the weekly DC event of 2006. Looking back, how would Greg describe the collaborative work with writers Grant Morrison, Mark Waid and Geoff Johns, artist Keith Giffen, and editors Steve Wacker and Michael Siglain? Lots of candid conversation in this episode of Word Balloon.

Day 2: Tim is joined by Pete Lenz, who is having fun. Then Tim tries to find the screaming women, and when that doesn't pan out Pete, Tim and Phil head down to the basement to check out Anime Fest. Apples are eaten, smiles are shared, and perhaps the oddest interview I've ever done takes place.Seeing as how this is a major comic event, I thought I'd check out Marvel's Cup O' Joe panel. That kicks in at about 7 minutes, and therein you'll hear about some of Marvel Comics upcoming plans. This, of course, was a slide show, so you will not be able to see what they're talking about. Here are some bullet points:Marvel to publish at least two CrossGen titles. From the images it looks like they'll be SIGIL and RUSE (penned by Mark Waid).
