All 3 men vanished, likely shortly after diner on the 15th of December. We try to figure what happened to them, could it have been an accident of is there an alternative explanation to this case?Contact us at: weeknightmysteries@gmail.comInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/weeknightmysteriesTikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@weeknightmysteries

The transatlantic steamer Archtor noticed that the lighthouse's light was off on the night of December 15, 1900. The Northern Lighthouse Board dispatched the relief ship Hesperus to investigate. Relief keeper Joseph Moore climbed the steep steps to the lighthouse and found eerie signs: the clock stopped, an uneaten meal set on the table, and a toppled chair. The keepers—James Ducat, Thomas Marshall, and William MacArthur—were nowhere to be found.#history #Beverly #mafia #beverlyhils #truecrime #tedbundy #truecrimecommunity #truecrimeaddict #truecrimememes #killers #killer #murder #mindhunter #murderer #kansas #ouijamacc #bondage #twiztid #thegathering #murdermuseum #eldorado #odditiesandcuriosities #caveman #oddities #rare #parkcity #death #charlesmanson #jeffreydahmer #edgein #crime #horror #darkart #richardramirez #halloween #criminal #horrorart #creepy #btkart #truecrimeart #truecrimepodcast #cannibal #albertfish #r #thriller #netflix #truecrimejunkie #horrormovies #history #selfie #truecrimefan #homicide #mystery #truecrimeobsessed #scary #serialkillerart #truecrime #truecrimecommunity #truecrimepodcast #crime #murder #podcast #truecrimeaddict #serialkiller #serialkillers #truecrimejunkie #horror #unsolved #murderino #podcastersofinstagram #truecrimeobsessed #mystery #ssdgm #truecrimefan #killer #truecrimememes #unsolvedmysteries #creepy #paranormal #podcasts #history #tedbundy #criminal #scary #podcasting #coldcase #murdermystery #bookstagram #death #buzzfeedunsolved #crimescene #truecrimepodcasts #missingperson #missing #halloween #crimejunkie #news #myfavoritemurder #spooky #supernatural #truecrimestories #homicide #ryanbergara #shanemadej #murderer #podcaster #truecrimebooks #memes #spotify #podernfamily #boogara #shaniac #jeffreydahmer #police #museum #italy #war #vintage #memes #picoftheday #ig #europe #photo #explore #ancient#germany #historymemes #usa #beautiful #travelgram #follow #historic #france #music #military #italia #castle #historylovers #a #medieval #life #education #like #facts #landscape #storia #world #old #city #historyfacts #archaeology #upsc #america #wwii #Podcasthost #Aftermath #aftermathpodcast #podcast #binge #bingepodcast #podcasttips newpodcastalert #slander #Hudson #aftermath #history #updates #storiesyouforgotabout #WW1 #WW2 #attack #terrorattack #nostalgia #Queen #mercury #FreddyMercury #truecrime #truecrimecommunity #truecrimepodcast #crime #murder #podcast #truecrimeaddict #serialkiller #serialkillers #truecrimejunkie #horror #unsolved #murderino #podcastersofinstagram #truecrimeobsessed #mystery #ssdgm #truecrimefan #killer #truecrimememes #unsolvedmysteries #creepy #paranormal #podcasts #history #tedbundy #criminal #scary #podcasting #coldcase #murdermystery #bookstagram #death #buzzfeedunsolved #crimescene #truecrimepodcasts #missingperson #missing #halloween #crimejunkie #news #myfavoritemurder #spooky #supernatural #truecrimestories #homicide #ryanbergara #shanemadej #murderer #podcaster #truecrimebooks #memes #spotify #podernfamily #boogara #shaniac #jeffreydahmer #police #s #justice #forgotten history #The Aftermath #Alamo #thealamo #tate #sharontate #TheFlannanIslesLighthouseMystery #horrorpodcast #investigation #torontojournalist #myths #cultinvestigation #podcastersofinstagram #reallegitimateapocalypse #rlaseries #mysterypodcast #mystery #fictionpodcast #crimepodcast #torontolife #newpodcast #podcast #legends #creepypasta #audiodrama #cult #scriptedpodcast #comingsoon #podcasters #notorious #legenday #mythology #myfavoritemurder #elevatorritual #truecrime #stories #thekybalion #scary #lastpodcastontheleft #elevatorgame #murderino #canadianpodcast #ohio #audio #hermeticism #cropsey #myth #elisalam #silentpool #surrey #apocalypse #truecrimememes #cecilhotel #melonheads #shere #slenderman #vancouver #truecrimepodcast #truecrimeaddict #quiteunusual #meditation #instagram --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/daniel-hudson9/message

The mysterious disappearance of the Eilean Mor lighthouse keepers. On the 26th December 1900, a small ship was making its way to the Flannan Islands in the remote Outer Hebrides. Its destination was the lighthouse at Eilean Mor, a remote island which (apart from its lighthouse keepers) was completely uninhabited.Although uninhabited, the island has always sparked people's interest. It is named after St. Flannen, a 6th century Irish Bishop who later became a saint. He built a chapel on the island and for centuries shepherds used to bring over sheep to the island to graze but would never stay the night, fearful of the spirits believed to haunt that remote spot.Captain James Harvey was in charge of the ship which was also carrying Jospeph Moore, a replacement lifehouse keeper. As the ship reached the landing platform, Captain Harvey was surprised not to see anyone waiting for their arrival. He blew his horn and sent up a warning flare to attract attention. There was no response.Joseph Moore then rowed ashore and ascended up the steep set of stairs that led up to the lighthouse. According to reports from Moore himself, the replacement lighthouse keeper suffered an overwhelming sense of foreboding on his long walk up to the top of the cliff. The island of Eilean Mor, with the lighthouse in the background. Attribution: Marc Calhoun under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 2.0 Generic license.Once at the lighthouse, Moore noticed something was immediately wrong; the door to the lighthouse was unlocked and in the entrance hall two of the three oil skinned coats were missing. Moore continued onto the kitchen area where he found half eaten food and an overturned chair, almost as if someone had jumped from their seat in a hurry. To add to this peculiar scene, the kitchen clock had also stopped.Moore continued to search the rest of the lighthouse but found no sign of the lighthouse keepers. He ran back to the ship to inform Captain Harvey, who subsequently ordered a search of the islands for the missing men. No-one was found.Harvey quickly sent back a telegram to the mainland, which in turn was forwarded to the Northern Lighthouse Board Headquarters in Edinburgh. The telegraph read:A dreadful accident has happened at Flannans. The three Keepers, Ducat, Marshall and the occasional have disappeared from the island. On our arrival there this afternoon no sign of life was to be seen on the Island.Fired a rocket but, as no response was made, managed to land Moore, who went up to the Station but found no Keepers there. The clocks were stopped and other signs indicated that the accident must have happened about a week ago. Poor fellows they must been blown over the cliffs or drowned trying to secure a crane or something like that.Night coming on, we could not wait to make something as to their fate.I have left Moore, MacDonald, Buoymaster and two Seamen on the island to keep the light burning until you make other arrangements. Will not return to Oban until I hear from you. I have repeated this wire to Muirhead in case you are not at home. I will remain at the telegraph office tonight until it closes, if you wish to wire me.A few days later, Robert Muirhead, the board's supernatant who both recruited and knew all three men personally, departed for the island to investigate the disappearances. His investigation of the lighthouse found nothing over and above what Moore had already reported. That is, except for the lighthouse's log…Muirhead immediately noticed that the last few days of entries were unusual. On the 12th December, Thomas Marshall, the second assistant, wrote of ‘severe winds the likes of which I have never seen before in twenty years'. He also noticed that James Ducat, the Principal Keeper, had been ‘very quiet' and that the third assistant, William McArthur, had been crying. What is strange about the final remark was that William McArthur was a seasoned mariner, and was known on the Scottish mainland as a tough brawler. Why would he be crying about a storm?Log entries on the 13th December stated that the storm was still raging, and that all three men had been praying. But why would three experienced lighthouse keepers, safely situated on a brand new lighthouse that was 150 feet above sea level, be praying for a storm to stop? They should have been perfectly safe.Even more peculiar is that there were no reported storms in the area on the 12th, 13th and 14th of December. In fact, the weather was calm, and the storms that were to batter the island didn't hit until December 17th.The final log entry was made on the 15th December. It simply read ‘Storm ended, sea calm. God is over all'. What was meant by ‘God is over all'?After reading the logs, Muirhead's attention turned to the remaining oil skinned coat that had been left in the entrance hall. Why, in the bitter cold winter, had one of the lighthouse keepers ventured out without his coat? Furthermore, why had all three lighthouse staff left their posts at the same time, when rules and regulations strictly prohibited it?Further clues were found down by the landing platform. Here Muirhead noticed ropes strewn all over the rocks, ropes which were usually held in a brown crate 70 feet above the platform on a supply crane. Perhaps the crate had been dislodged and knocked down, and the lighthouse keepers were attempting to retrieve them when an unexpected wave came and washed them out to sea? This was the first and most likely theory, and as such Muirhead included it in his official report to the Northern Lighthouse Board. But this explanation left some people in the Northern Lighthouse Board unconvinced. For one, why had none of the bodies been washed ashore? Why had one of the men left the lighthouse without taking his coat, especially since this was December in the Outer Hebridies? Why had three experienced lighthouse keepers been taken unaware by a wave?Although these were all good questions, the most pertinent and persistent question was around the weather conditions at the time; the seas should have been calm! They were sure of this as the lighthouse could be seen from the nearby Isle of Lewis, and any bad weather would have obscured it from view.Over the following decades, subsequent lighthouse keepers at Eilean Mor have reported strange voices in the wind, calling out the names of the three dead men. Theories about their disappearance have ranged from foreign invaders capturing the men, all the way through to alien abductions! Whatever the reason for their disappearance, something (or someone) snatched those three men from the rock of Eilean Mor on that winter's day over 100 years ago.The mysterious disappearance of the Eilean Mor lighthouse keepers.

On this episode, sporting a curved brim Yankee ballcap with the tag still on it, Thomas Marshall, and showing off his gold tooth in the mirror while he uses his cordless water flosser, Jerry Albert, are shut down by the government, Microsoft, YouTube, and the U.N. for talking about a certain someone's something that cannot be discussed. Tom tops himself off on ketamine and starts sniffing bloody onesies in the evidence locker to see if he can use his psychic powers to solve cold cases, and cis white male Jerry accuses the creators of The Batman of being somehow both woke progressives and anti-Semites simultaneously.
In 1900, the the newly Flannan isle lighthouse was staffed by three lightkeepers. In December of that year a passing ship noticed the light was out at the light house and shortly after reporting the issue, a supply ship was sent to investigate.
In this episode, Thomas welcomes back season 1 guest Hannah Basha, now a teacher in South Carolina, to talk about what it is like to teach during the pandemic, and what her experience as a teacher has been generally. Comment and see photos @ https://talkmurder.com/flannan-isle-mystery/-- The eerie disappearance of the three Flannan Isles Keepers has remained one of the most bizarre mysteries for over the last one hundred years.Thomas Marshall, James Ducat, and Donald McArthur were all experienced seafarers, ship hands, and captains and all more comfortable on the ocean than on land. The last journal entry written by Thomas Marshall on December 15th, 1900.“Strom ended, sea calm, God is over all.”The next day, the men were gone, and perhaps more daunting is that there were no storms reported in the area when they disappeared.

... And they all vanished. Hell of a punchline, eh? Well that's exactly what happened in December of 1900, three men were at their lighthouse post on the Flannan Isle, Thomas Marshall, James Ducat and Donald MacArthur, when one stormy night they all mysteriously vanished into thin air. There was never a trace of these men found again. Of course, you might think that they all got swept away in the storm, or some other tragic accident, and you might not be wrong. BUT that won't people from theorizing other, more supernatural explanations. A popular theory when anybody goes missing, is of course, aliens. Naturally, given the circumstances, and the scene that was left behind it does appear that they were abducted my something otherworldy, and the main reason for this theory: The clocks, every last one within the lighthouse, were frozen, dead, not working. The scene also looked like they were taken in the middle of a meal, as half eaten plates of food were left behind, as well the kitchen was a mess, and a chair tipped over. Aliens. Other than that, potentially a giant bird up and plucked them from the shores of the isle. Yes, a giant bird. However, this isn't as common, or believable as the alien theory. But whatever did happen on that isle is still a mystery, and the mystery grew even further when their logbook was discovered, and there were some strange passages written within. Spoiler, it involved a bit of crying and a lot of praying. It was almost as if they knew something was going to happen, or perhaps they knew they were being stalked or hunted. Regardless of what actually happened, the mystery remains, and will probably never be solved. Their bodies were never found, and more than a hundred years later, never will be... Unless the aliens drop them off and they hadn't aged a day. That would be something. In this podcast, we have a bit of a change in pace. Caleb and Thomas have been talking about the serious aspects of the degradation of American democracy, and about what happens as one of America's two major political parties falls into fascism way too much for what is good for their mental health. So this week, they decided to talk about something a little bit more fun. There is conversation about the role of sports throughout history, its place in our different societies, and even make a connection in it to the politics of identity. On Boxing Day, December 26th 1900, the lighthouse supply ship Hesperus arrived at the tiny island of Eilean Mor -- the largest of Flannan Islands off the northwestern coast of Scotland. She was there to drop off food and supplies as well as relief keeper, Joseph Moore, who was to begin his 6-week stint at the station. But when repeated blasts of the horn and even a flare fired over the lighthouse failed to bring the keepers down to the dock, Captain Harvie became concerned. So he sent Moore up to the lighthouse to discover why the men didn't come down to the landing to greet the ship. Upon entering the living quarters, Moore found it deserted. A thorough search of the island turned up few clues, but the bodies of the missing keepers were never found. It was if James Ducat, Thomas Marshall and Donald McArthur had vanished into thin air.https://beyondthefringe.buzzsprout.com/

Wilson's Vice President prospered through his folksy Indiana charm and humor and his status as a governor of a swing state. But did his humor prevent him from a most serious role?
Vice President Thomas Marshall doesn't think much of his new office. History doesn't think much of his tenure as V.P. — neither did the president Marshall served, Woodrow Wilson. But Marshall did leave us with a memorable phrase: "What this country needs is a good 5-cent cigar." Plus: Famous lawyer Clarence Darrow was in court. That certainly wasn't unusual but this was: It was Darrow himself who was on trial! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Jack continues his well earned rest, leaving Thomas Marshall and Paul James to bring the heat! Alas, heat they did not bring, but a healthy discussion about the Helsinki Summit (and fallout), James Gunn’s removal from Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Elon Musk’s slow melting down and subsequent loss of faith from investors, and Epic Games’ changing the game, giving back over half of the money they have collected from the Unreal Engine Marketplace. Unreal. Late in the piece, the episode devolved into talking too much about Pokémon GO. Great game. At least the boys agreed on something... Thanks for joining us. This is the second of our 3 episode mini-series from our trip to Barcelona. We went out there to meet interesting people, sample the culture (try a few cervezas) and explore new ideas. In this one me and Woodie speak to Dr Thomas Marshall. He's a chiropractor based in Barcelona and it's fair to say he turned us on to some incredibly interesting and life-changing ideas around the innate power of Chiropractic care. Tom talks about how he practices Chiropractic to enable his patients to realise their potential in health, happiness and brain function. Basiclally, if you thought Chiropractic was all about getting rid of back and neck pain...think again! On 7 December 1900, Superintendent Robert Muirhead, of the Northern Lighthouse Board said farewell to his 3 lighthouse keepers, James Ducat, Thomas Marshall and Donald McArthur. They waved him goodbye as he stepped off the East landing at Eilean Mor onto his waiting boat to take him back to the mainland. The 3 lighthouse men were starting their next shift for 3 weeks on the island, taking care of the lighthouse and ensuring safe passage for the ships that passed by the Islands on the West Coast of Scotland navigating the often stormy and tempestuous Atlantic Ocean. What Robert Muirhead didn’t know at that time as he watched the three men head off into the distance was that he would likely be the last person to see them alive. The story surrounding the Flannan Isles Lighthouse has been a story of wonder and mystery for over a hundred years, what happened there and why? Let’s find out more

We will also take a look at the struggles of the Brick & Mortar retailer and call on you the listener to help change the trend that retail stores are facing across the country. Join us for all the madness known as The Cigar Authority with cigar news, a trip into the Asylum and Debonaire Mr. Jonathan. On this episode of Expanded Perspectives the guys star off the show by talking about how recently an abandoned oil tanker has washed up on the shores of Liberia in west Africa, prompting an investigation – and speculation over the fate of the ship’s crew. Then, the world of archaeology was electrified last year by the news that Tutankhamun’s tomb could contain hidden chambers possibly containing the remains and riches of Queen Nefertiti. It was a story that seemed to have everything: false walls, buried treasure, at least one mummy – and new hope for Egypt’s ailing tourist industry. There was just one problem: the announcement now seems to be unfounded. But scientists say the evidence, based on new research, is being suppressed by the government in Cairo. Then, the U.S. Air Force is looking to fund the development of a system that allows it to easily convert any of its manned aircraft into robot-piloted planes, potentially making huge portions of its existing fleet fully autonomous. Then, the consequences of not getting enough sleep are evident to all of us—and yet we’re constantly staying up later than what our internal biological clocks are telling us. A new study shows the elusive nature of what’s to blame. Then, a strange new report about a 'frog as big as a goat' supposedly sighted one day by diver Duncan Macdonald while underwater in Loch Ness during the late 1800s. After the break, Kyle brings up the mysterious disappearance of three lighthouse workers in the Flannan Islands. In December 1900 three lighthouse-keepers, Thomas Marshall, James Ducat and Donald McArthur, on the lonely outcrop of the Flannan Isles, approx 20 miles from the Outer Hebrides, western Scotland, disappeared without trace. No solution to their disappearance has ever been found, and for over a 100 years now this case has been of endless fascination to those of us who love unsolved mysteries.
