Enkelte har siddet længere og lige nu nærmer tre indsatte sig 40 år bag tremmer. I seks særafsnit af Danske Drabssager går vi tæt på Fængsel på livstid. Vi taler bl.a. med fagfolk, der har straffen tæt inde på livet enten som efterforsker, anklager eller forsvarsadvokat. Drei Menschen erzählen aus ihrem Beruf: Gekonnt performen sie ihre Work-Live-Balance, routiniert jonglieren sie mit Begriffen aus der fortschrittlich gemanagten Arbeitswelt. Doch bald merkt man – hier stimmt was nicht «Drei Protokolle aus dem immerfort weiter vorauseilenden Zeitalter der Arbeit» – so heisst es im Untertitel des Hörspiels – und da weiss man gleich, woher der Wind weht: Zeit ist Geld, und wer nicht Schritt hält, den fressen die Hunde. Jens Nielsens Figuren halten Schritt; sie sind sich sicher. Denn sie kämpfen und dienen und strengen sich an, auch wenn irgendwie um sie herum alles anders aussieht als früher und auch das Kämpfen und Mitlaufen anstrengender geworden ist sie geben nicht auf. Uns Zuhörenden wird hingegen bald klar: Die haben das Rennen schon verloren. Das sind doch alles Aussenseiter: abgehängt, abgestellt, überholt. Oder jene Angestellte, die auf der Suche nach ihrem Arbeitsplatz monatelang durch Bürogänge irrt. Die freie Hörspielmacherin Bettie I.
