In this episode, we meet Richard Jeffares, founder of the gluten-free brewery Two Bays, which recently won a gold medal for its Session Ale at the World Beer Cup. The World Beer Cup is often referred to as ‘The Olympics Of Beer'. It's held in America every two years and unlike most of the other drinks competitions around, there is only one gold, silver and bronze medal awarded in each beer category. It's frightfully difficult to win a medal, especially for breweries on the other side of the world, which naturally face logistical challenges getting their beer in front of the judges in peak condition. As such, there's only been a handful of Australian breweries that have ever won medals in the World Beer Cup, with 9300 beers entered this year from 2060 breweries in 50 countries. Two Bays founder Richard Jeffares and head brewer Kristian Martin were in Las Vegas to collect the award. And when I caught up with Richard on his return to Australia, it was also a chance to hear about other developments at the company, which continues to impress with its mastery of beers made from a base of millet, buckwheat and rice.
Hot, fresh, and free! New episode out with the awesome @quackjigley, sampling an awesome from @twobaysbeer.It's summer baby (soon anyway) which means cocktail session, which really, you wouldn't think would come up that much on a craft beer podcast but dec will do just about anything to get out of trying a beer! This week we are trying the Two Bays, margarita sour and to mix things up (see what I did there?) dec is also trying his best Tom Cruise impression and making us a few margaritas of his own.Always great to have Jack Q on trying new beers so go ahead and check out this brand new episode where ever you get your pods or the video on YouTube!Find us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beer.babies/For review/episode requests email us at: beerbabiespod@gmail.com Hosted on Acast. Jack is back in B Babies studios and he's better than ever.Billy has done something very daring and brought along a dark beer.Jack said the last episode he was on he saves all his beer drinking for beer babies and so to no surprise this is his 1st stout.A stout is a strong-flavored beer so having Jack there for his first time was really fun! That's one of the great things about having Jack on the show because they are almost always a first-time with a type of beer.To make Jack's 1st time (with a dark beer), Billy headed down to the shops and got Google's top suggested tasting pairing.Do you think that ice cream, blue cheese and dark chocolate sounds like a good afternoon well it was for us. I think you'll like it to check it out on this week's episode of Beer Babies. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
