Now that the Philadelphia Eagles' roster is mostly set, we're taking an early look at whether players like Kyle McCord, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, A.J. Dillon, Ainias Smith, Bryce Huff, Josh Uche, Azeez Ojulari, Kenyon Green, Tyler Steen, Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and Lewis Cine are likely to make the 53-man roster for the Super Bowl defending Eagles. Zach Berman and Bo Wulf break it all down and react to the announcement of a season-opening game against the Dallas Cowboys.

It's a Tuesday film review day, with Fran Duffy breaking down what worked for the Eagles on defense in their stifling of the previously high-powered New Orleans Saints offense. Just how dominant was Jalen Carter? On the offensive side of the ball, how well did Tyler Steen and Fred Johnson answer the call? And what did Jalen Hurts see to set up the huge completion to Dallas Goedert?Plus, the big day has finally come for Zach Berman! The Eagles finally remembered that they have Dallas Goedert on the team (17:11). Did Saquon save the season with his 65-yard TD run (20:27)? And how did backup offensive linemen Fred Johnson and Tyler Steen do filling some big shoes after a few starters went down (27:45)? Sheil and BLG then discuss the Eagles' excellent defense today, which held the high-powered Saints offense to 12 points, wherein Jalen Carter was a game-wrecker (34:19). Kenny Pickett completed 11 of his 13 passes against the Patriots in the second preseason game, but he was also sacked four times and generally ran around like a chicken with its head cut off. Then Tanner McKee came in, only played two drives, but moved the ball and made the offense look much crisper. Do we have the makings of a usurping? Plus, Tyler Steen left with an injury, Nolan Smith notched another sack and Nakobe Dean's hustle showed up. On the last day of the patty cake portion of training camp, it was a successful practice for the defensive line as they muddied the pocket for Jalen Hurts throughout the day. Part of the reason for that was the absence of Lane Johnson and Tyler Steen, with Mekhi Becton getting his shot with the starters at right guard. The free-agent addition who entered the league as the No. 11 overall pick now has a chance to win the job for good. Zach Berman and Bo Wulf recap both Monday's practice and the weekend's action that featured candid comments from James Bradberry as the team prepares to finally put on the pads. Our position previews ahead of training camp move on to where there are starting jobs up for grabs. We know four of the likely starters along the offensive line, but right guard is open. Will it be Tyler Steen or will Mekhi Becton make a push for the job? And at linebacker, Nakobe Dean was not the full-time starter alongside Devin White in the spring. Will he overtake Zack Baun? Plus, Zach Berman and Bo Wulf debate the most memorable Eagles games of their time covering the beat. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
It's another edition of Birds Insider with Bill Colarulo and Andrew DiCecco! The two break down what has changed since the last time we saw the Eagles, specifically the player personnel. Their main question is: Which non-rookie is the most impactful addition to the Eagles? Then Bill discusses Saquon Barkley specifically and how the Giants blew it as episode 1 of Offseason Hard Knocks highlighted. Andrew divulges what he learned from his 1-on-1 interview with Isaiah Rodgers. Then the duo looks at last year's rookies and what to expect from them this season, specifically Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith, and Tyler Steen.
With the entirety of the Eagles' spring football activities now behind us, we take stock of the things we learned. Have the Eagles found some excitement in the secondary? Do they have a set projected right guard in Tyler Steen? Is the offense really going to be THAT different? And how does Jalen Hurts look? Zach Berman and Bo Wulf welcome you back to the swing of things with a Monday show to tell you what they think they learned over the past few months. Learn more about your ad choices. Fresh off the sweaty practice field at the NovaCare Complex, we're live with everything you need to know about the first open spring practice for the Eagles. Second-year offensive lineman Tyler Steen worked with the starters at right guard. Quinyon Mitchell looked good when tested deep, but lined up with the second-team defense while Isaiah Rodgers worked with the starters. Saquon Barkley's thighs were as advertised. Zach Berman and Bo Wulf explain everything important they saw from the small (Kellen Moore looks like Howie Roseman kind of?) to the huge (Mekhi Becton). Learn more about your ad choices. The passing of the guard, er, center along the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive line means its most important position group faces some questions heading into the 2024 season. Howie Roseman drafted Michigan's Trevor Keegan in the fifth round to help fortify the future of the unit with a player who immediately enters with championship pedigree. Fresh off rookie camp, Keegan joins the show to discuss his goals for the future. Then, Brian Baldinger joins the show to discuss his thoughts on the Eagles' draft class, how he feels about Tyler Steen at right guard and more. With the major portion of the team-building process in the rearview, it's time to take stock of what the Eagles' depth chart looks like. We start on offense, where there seem to be two starting spots up for graps: right guard and wide receiver No. 3. Is it Tyler Steen's job to lose? Who emerges at wide receiver among Ainias Smith, Parris Campbell, DeVante Parker, Johnny Wilson and Britain Covey? Is there anyone else out there worth considering? Zach Berman and Bo Wulf give their expert opinions and analysis with characteristic verve , wit and wisdom. Plus, rookie camp report! Learn more about your ad choices. We know finding an eventual Lane Johnson replacement is on the Eagles' to-do list, but they also don't have a right guard starter set in stone for 2024. Could that be a surprise use of a first-round pick? What about the middle- and late-round options for Jeff Stoutland? Brandon Thorn is our favorite offensive line expert and he joins Bo and Zach to discuss the players you need to know. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
After 13 seasons, 194 games played, 154 consecutive starts, 7 pro bowls, 6 first-team all-pros, and a Super Bowl championship, Philadelphia Eagles legendary center Jason Kelce is officially retiring. Is Kelce the greatest player to ever wear midnight green? Is he on the Eagles Mt. Rushmore of all-time greats? Louie and Gino discuss Kelce's best moments as an Eagle, his connection with the city of Philadelphia, and recap his memorable final speech. Do the Eagles have the right replacements in place for Kelce on the offensive line with Cam Jurgens and Tyler Steen? Can a younger line be just as dominant as the veteran-filled units we have been used to in Philadelphia? Also: With Kelce retired, Fletcher Cox likely to follow this offseason, and the winding down of Brandon Graham and Lane Johnson's careers, do the Eagles have their new core four already on the team? The NFL season kicks off next week and Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles offense are gearing up for their week 1 battle against the New England Patriots. Former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker, and current FOX and 94.1 WIP analyst Garry Cobb takes a look at the Eagles franchise quarterback and the weapons surrounding him like A.J Brown, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert. Is the only hurdle facing the NFC East Champions just staying healthy? Let us know in the comments below. Cam Jurgens has impressed throughout training camp and it looks like he will beat out rookie Tyler Steen for the starting right guard spot replacing Issac Seumalo who was signed to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the offseason. Jurgens, in his second year in the NFL, has only ever played center. How will the young athlete adjust? Will he have trouble finding his rhythm? Was it a smart move by Head Coach Nick Sirianni and Defensive Coordinator Sean Desai? Over the offseason, the Philadelphia Eagles running back room has some new occupants in D'Andre Swift and Rashad Penny. Swift was picked up during the 2023 NFL Draft as part of a trade with the Detroit Lions. Penny was signed following a 5 year stint with the Seattle Seahawks. Alongside Kenny Gainwell and Boston Scott, will these new additions be what this team needs to advance their ground game? Who will emerge as the top running back in 2023? Following the Super Bowl, the Eagles' defense gained a new defensive coordinator in Sean Desai but lost key players. Enter Jalen Carter. Drafted 9th overall by the Eagles earlier this year, the Georgia Bulldog defensive tackle has already positioned himself as one to watch throughout the season. Darius Slay and James Bradberry have continued to impress throughout training camp as well. However, an area of concern is the linebackers and the safeties. Are we getting good-quality play out of Nakobe Dean and Zach Cunningham? Is Reed Blankenship the right man to fill that starting safety role left vacant following the departure of C. J. Gardner-Johnson? As a former linebacker for the Eagles, as well as the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions, Cobb takes us inside the minds of these young defensemen and gives his thoughts on what adjustments he would make as the season approaches.

1. What is your understanding as to how big of a role [new Eagles offensive coordinator] Brian Johnson played in developing Jalen Hurts into the player he is right now? 2. Outside of having Jalen Hurts, for what reasons will the 2023 Eagles offense minus Shane Steichen NOT take a significant step back? 3. On the other side of the ball, the Eagles replaced Jonathan Gannon with Sean Desai, who was Seahawks associate head coach last season and Bears defensive coordinator the season before. Somebody I know of who studied Desai's units in Seattle and Chicago noticed that he is an elite secondary coach, but his run defenses often leave much to be desired. Last season, the main weakness on the entire Eagles team was stopping the run. Do you have any level of concern that the Eagles run defense could get even worse before it gets better this year? 4. Would you anticipate seeing Jalen Carter on the field for around 50% of the snaps or more in 2023, or would you expect him to be a more rotational player before he permanently succeeds Fletcher Cox in 2024? 5. Do the Eagles believe Nolan Smith has some noticeable skills that Hassan Reddick doesn't bring? With Nolan Smith now in the fold, do you think there's a pretty high likelihood that Hassan Reddick will only be an Eagle for two more years maximum? 6. Do you get the sense within the organization that the plan for Tyler Steen is for him to be the starting RG in 2024, if not sooner? 7. Would it surprise you if Sydney Brown eventually overtakes one of Terrell Edmunds or Reed Blankenship at some point this season? Even if Sydney Brown is not a "starter" this season, do you expect Sean Desai to run a healthy amount of dime packages with him on the field? 8. Which players who aren't well known at the national level stood out the most for the Eagles during this year's offseason program? 9. What Eagles training camp battles are you keeping a close eye on and why? 10. Which NFC team is the biggest threat to de-throne the Eagles as conference champions this season?

Welcome to the latest episode of our NFL Draft preview podcast, where we'll be breaking down some of the top offensive line prospects for the 2023 draft. This year's class features some impressive talent, with standout players at both tackle and guard positions. First up, we have Paris Johnson Jr. and Dawand Jones from Ohio State, as well as Anton Harrison from Oklahoma. We also have Tyler Steen from Alabama, Darnell Wright from Tennessee, and Broderick Jones from Georgia as top offensive tackle prospects. Moving on to the guard position, we have Peter Skoronski from Northwestern, Steve Avila from TCU, O'Cyrus Torrance from Florida, Andrew Vorhees from USC, John Michael Schmitz from Minnesota, and Cody Mauch from North Dakota State as impressive prospects to watch. That's all for this episode of our NFL Draft preview podcast. Join us next time as we continue to break down the top prospects for the 2023 draft. Learn more about your ad choices. 1. Do you think Peter Skoronski, like Jets star G Alijah Vera-Tucker, can be that type of player who's a great guard yet can also do an above-average job playing tackle if the situation warrants it? 2. What makes Paris Johnson, Jr. a worthy investment as a top-10 pick? Why is he the top offensive tackle on your board? 3. What is the argument for say the Bears with the ninth overall pick to prefer Broderick Jones over Paris Johnson, Jr.? 4. When looking at Darnell Wright's tape, did the ability he display against Will Anderson in that game show up consistently enough for you to spend a first-round pick on him? 5. When you watch O'Cyrus Torrence on tape, do you see a guy who's fully capable of overcoming those limitations and thus worthy of a late-first round selection? 6. What other attributes of Steve Avila's game, other than positional versatility, stood out to you on tape? 7. Why do you think John Michael Schmitz will probably be the top-ranked center on many (if not most) NFL draft boards? 8. Is there a sleeper OL prospect in this class that you don't believe is getting the attention he deserves? If so, who is that prospect and why do you like his game so much? 9. Buy Or Sell: Matthew Bergeron, Dawand Jones, Anton Harrison, Jaelyn Duncan, Tyler Steen, Cody Mauch, Jon Gaines II, Joe Tippmann, Luke Wypler, Ricky Stromberg, Olu Oluwatimi, Juice Scruggs
March 24, 2023 - Season 13, Episode 105 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the latest concerning safety Terrell Edmunds as it now appears that he won't be re-signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers. We also discuss a free agent safety still on the market who could potentially fill Edmunds' role in the defense. The Steelers had a large contingent at the Ohio State and Alabama pro days this week so Alex and I discuss who was spotted where. We discuss several of the prospects they likely paid close attention to while at those pro days. We talk about Alabama offensive lineman Tyler Steen and defensive back Brian Branch a lot early in this show. Alex and I move on to spend a lot of time talking about Ohio State tackle Dawand Jones on the heels of his pro day. We wonder if pre-draft process has caused the big tackle to now have a few red flags when it comes to the Steelers. The Steelers had linebacker coach Aaron Curry at the Wisconsin pro day on Thursday so Alex and I discuss a player he was likely getting a closer look at, Nick Herbig. We discuss a potential position switch for Herbig at the NFL level and if he could potentially be a day-three Steelers' selection due to all the dot-connecting. We also discuss the probability of the Steelers selecting an inside linebacker early in the draft on the heels of their early free agency moves.Several other pro day sightings are discussed in this show and that includes us talking about who all had been spotted at Penn State on Friday.Several new contracts have now hit the NFLPA site so Alex and I discuss where the Steelers now sit at on this Friday when it comes to the team's salary cap situation. We answer a few listener questions late in this show to close things out. We mix in other Steelers talk throughout this episode that is not noted in this recap post.

The Cleveland Browns are targeting Byron Young and Keeanu Benton as possible draft picks in this year's NFL Draft. In this news update, we discuss the Browns' plans for the two players and update you on all the latest news from the Cleveland Browns.Don't miss our latest episode of the Locked on Browns podcast, where we discuss the Cleveland Browns' plans for Byron Young and Keeanu Benton and update you on all the latest news from the team! Subscribe now to stay up-to-date on all the latest Cleveland Browns news. The Cleveland Browns need major upgrades upfront to the defensive line. Most of the Browns rumors have revolved around targeting top Defensive Lineman during the NFL 2023 Free Agency period. The Browns also will target young talent in the trenches in the NFL 2023 Draft. Below are a list of Defensive Lineman The Cleveland Browns Are Targeting At The Senior Bowl.Top 2023 Senior Bowl Interior Defensive Linemen NFL Draft Prospects1) Keeanu Benton, WisconsinKeeanu Benton is already one of the highest-rated defensive linemen at the Senior Bowl, but even he has plenty to prove in Mobile. He's a dense 6'4″, 315-pound lineman with nose tackle capabilities who was dominant down the stretch for the Wisconsin Badgers in 2022. Benton's run defense is phenomenal. He's a stack-and-shed master with outrageous strength. What evaluators will watch in Mobile, however, is his pass-rushing ability in one-on-ones. Benton has violent hands and the necessary burst, but consistency will be key.2) Byron Young, AlabamaAlabama will be well-represented in the trenches at the Senior Bowl this year. On the offensive side, tackle Tyler Steen and interior lineman Emil Ekiyor Jr. will be present. And on the defensive line, veterans Byron Young and DJ Dale will hold down the fort. Dale is an intriguing prospect in his own right, but Young has a higher ranking on the 2023 NFL Draft board. Already, Young is a high-level run defender. His stay at the Senior Bowl will allow him to showcase his pass-rushing upside, something he gave bright flashes of in college with his athleticism and torque.3) Keion White, Georgia TechOne of the biggest riser candidates heading into the 2023 Senior Bowl is Georgia Tech defensive lineman Keion White. He's still a sleeper in the context of his counterparts. But he has perhaps the most to gain from getting his talents in front of NFL evaluators in Mobile. White is a 6'4″, 286-pound wrecking ball with explosiveness, lateral agility, and awesome power across alignments on the defensive front. He can play at 3-tech or move outside the tackle, and his athleticism and motor make him a menace in pursuit, as evidenced by his two seasons with 14 or more TFLs.4) Adetomiwa Adebawore, NorthwesternThe 2023 NFL Draft class is flush with hybrid defensive linemen who can play from both interior and EDGE alignments. Adetomiwa Adebawore falls within that category. But of that group, he has one of the most compelling combinations of explosiveness, proportional length, and functional strength. Adebawore put up five sacks and nine tackles for loss this past season. But each week, it felt like the box score didn't do his impact justice. He's a constant disruptor on the line, whose high-end traits allow him to consistently generate pressure downhill. One-on-ones will be big for him.5) Karl Brooks, Bowling GreenJust as the Senior Bowl is a place where big names converge and clash, it's also a place where lesser-known small-school prospects can prove themselves against top-tier competition. That's the opportunity that Bowling Green's Karl Brooks will have. Brooks is quietly one of the most intriguing defensive linemen in the 2023 NFL Draft. He's a 6'4″, 300-pound defender who can rush from 3-tech or on the edge. And he was insanely productive with the Falcons, tallying 27.5 sacks and 46 tackles for loss across five seasons. With recruiting news slowing down in the middle of the February dead period, Greg Pickel and Ryan Snyder open up our Feb. 15 podcast looking back on a variety of Penn State-related NFL topics. In addition to Haley and Scott winning it all, there are a handful players in their original Penn State class, the Class of 2014, who are having great careers in the NFL. That list includes Mike Gesicki, Chris Godwin, Amani Oruwariye, Jason Cabinda, among others. Of course, Micah Parsons' emergence, winning Defensive Rookie of the Year, was also a positive for the Nittany Lions. The guys discuss how his success should only help Penn State on the recruiting trail in the months ahead. After that, they get into another Pennsylvania linebacker in Class of 2023 prospect Phil Picciotti. A four-star player from Pennridge, Picciotti recently finalized his spring visit schedule, which Ryan published Tuesday morning. They look at what's key for Penn State moving forward and a notable school who longer appears to be a serious contender with Perkasie native. The transfer portal was also discussed. Penn State recently started following Western Kentucky offensive lineman Cole Spencer on Twitter this week. An All-Conference USA selection in 2021, Spencer has a host of schools who also appear to be interested following his entry into the transfer portal. Ryan discusses who those programs are, as well as two other transfer portal targets in Raiqwon O'Neal and Tyler Steen. They finish out today's podcast discussing Penn State's rise in scholarship offers extended in recent years. During the first half of James Franklin's tenure, the Nittany Lions never surpassed 200 scholarship offers extended in a class. In 2022, they offered more than 360, and are on pace for even more in 2023. Why the change? Ryan gives his thoughts. Penn State hosted its first January junior day in two years this past weekend. The visit list was stacked with talent, with 10 four-star players making the trip and a little under 20 scholarship players total. Although it didn't lead to any immediate commitments, James Franklin and his Penn State assistants hosted a handful of players who are clearly leaning in PSU's direction. That could prove to be fruitful once spring rolls around and players are able to see their other options. On today's Blue White Illustrated recruiting podcast, Ryan Snyder and Greg Pickel look back on Saturday's junior day, highlighting a handful of players that fans need to know moving forward. Offensive offensive tackle prospects Evan Link, from Washington, D.C., and Samson Okunlola, from Brockton, Mass., are among a few they discuss at length. The transfer portal also remains a popular topic, and Penn State stopped in to see two of their top targets Monday. Vanderbilt tackle Tyler Steen and Cornell guard Hunter Nourzad both won't enroll at their next school until the summer, but Penn State put on a full-court press Monday. The guys get into the details on both players, as well the plan for the portal moving forward. They wrap up today's podcast discussing the resumption of the contact period, which began this past Friday, Jan. 14. Franklin and his assistant will be out on the road these next two weeks to meet with players and coaches up and down the East Coast. Ryan gets into a few of the expected stops for Tuesday, which includes a handful of quarterback prospects that offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich has interest in.
