Three hours of high drama, recorded live at Nowadays in New York. We know what you're thinking: why did it take so long to get Binh on the RA Podcast? There's no easy answer, especially given that he's been a favourite of ours for over a decade now. So to make up for lost time, the revered digger lands on the series with a tantalising three-hour mix, recorded live at Nowadays in New York earlier this year. Crammed with rare and unreleased gems spanning house, techno, and electro, RA.989 is heavy on drama, catching the Düsseldorf native in unbridled performance mode. This is Binh in 2025. But rewind across the past two decades and you'll find a DJ who excels in pretty much any situation, whether warming up for Zip or Margaret Dygas, going back-to-back with masters like Nicolas Lutz or rolling out solo sets that stretch across ten or even 12 hours. He's acted out all these scenarios most often at Berlin institution Club der Visionaere, the cosy canalside club that became a kind-of spiritual home. (He'd sometimes spend every night of the week there, before parenting duties got the better of him.) To play for half a day you need a lot of records, and the backbone of Binh's craft has long been a freakish passion for vinyl. Along with Lutz, Vera, and others in CDV's orbit, he approaches the pursuit of wax, new and old, with next-level dedication and a fondness for blind buys. That's true of RA.989, although among the un-Shazamables are many tracks that are either out or coming out on Binh's popular Time Passages label. The mix finds him on a house-y tip, luxuriating in roomy basslines, driving 303s and twinkly melodies—with just the right amount of evil. Lock in and savour a one-of-a-kind DJ, completely in the zone. @binh Find the interview at ra.co/podcast/989

Electronic music specialist Andrea Cichecki is an artist inspired by sound. Born in the Netherlands with Polish roots, Andrea has had a lifelong fascination with emotion, human connection and how these intertwine with music and sound. Her atmospheric music can be described as a dreamful sound collage, lifting us away into a flow of emotions. The musical intent is built on a landscape that sweeps from intense joy to melancholic emotion, a cinematic journey of life and memories. Andrea's main inspiration is the inner peace found through connection with nature. For over two decades, Andrea performs as a DJ across Europe. For seven years, she lived in Berlin where she was integral to the electronic music scene and a regular DJ playing in renowned clubs such as Club der Visionaere, Hoppetosse, Tresor and About Blank. After successful releases of her own music, she knew it was time to follow her dreams. Achieving a diploma for her studies in ‘Music Production & Sound Engineering' at the Abbey Road Institute helped her enrich her sound, expand her creative mind and build on her professionalism. These days Andrea is in high demand as a music producer and audio engineer: composing, mixing, mastering as well as working at Castle Studios in the countryside, just outside Dresden. https://soundcloud.com/andrea-cichecki https://www.andreacichecki.com https://linktr.ee/AndreaCichecki See Also: 200.1 - https://soundcloud.com/avenue-red/podcast-200-1-volar 200.0 - https://soundcloud.com/avenue-red/podcast-200-0-estimulo

Bside Incoming: Szafran We're very excited to bring you a wonderful DJ/Producer from Poland, he goes by the name of Szafran. Oskar Szafraniec plied his trade under the mentorship of the legendary A Guy Called Gerald before basing himself in Berlin where his regular appearances at Club der Visionaere, Watergate, Tresor and Salon zur Wilden Renate would fine tune his live performance. He has since released on notable labels like Rawax, Deset and Cyclo, and collaborated with some serious heavyweights like Ricardo Villalobos and Pier Bucci. But, after an enforced end to his touring days, the industrious Polish DJ sought a change of scenery on Croatia's Dalmatian Coast. A much needed break from performing and producing allowed a chance for new influences, inspirations, production styles, and his new alias: Szafran. The result is a beautiful balance of hardware, software, and organic sounds; breakbeat drum loops, synths, keys and the signature sound of a 303. Be sure to check out his HOME AGAIN - 003, the third release on previous guest Thabo's label: https://linktr.ee/homeagain003 For his Bside podcast, expect Jazz, Funk, Soul, rising into some superb house selections. In late 2008 he gave life to one of his most famous projects, Nico Lahs, immediately attracting the attention of some of the best electronic music outputs in the underground scene. It didn’t take long for some well-known and respected labels to notice him and, indeed, in 2010 he signed an EP on 8bit Records and since then his career has been steadily on the rise: in 2011 his first EP with Josh Wink's Ovum Recordings, another one in 2012 and, in the same year, also his first EP on Steve Bug’s Poker Flat, to finally come back on Ovum in 2014. During those years, he touched base in some of the most prestigious electronic music clubs around the world such as Cable, Sankeys, Club der Visionaere, Globus/Tresor, KaterHolzig, Weekend and Rex Club, just to name a few. Here he serves up a delicious hour of deep cuts, taking in work from artists such as Marcellus Pittman, Hanna, Carl Criag and Kevin Yost... to name a few. Weather Paris Festival 2015  : ON / OFF https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vyz_pEtU4wE Un main event en plein air! When it comes to Daniele Papini it is impossible to separate the man from the musician. Every step Daniele has taken in his life is in time to the beat of the music he was hearing and producing during that specific moment; his childhood as a classical pianist; his teenage years growing up on the London squat scene, as the bassist in a punk band; the instant love affair when he first encountered techno in 1998, embracing the radical anti-conformist message of the early rave-scene, traveling worldwide blasting the system from his huge wall of sound, to his early club residencies in Florence; all these encounters have given him the richly textured eclectic sound that he has honed today, that he brings to his live sets, to Sleep is Commercial and to studio productions made in Berlin, his home since 2006. Daniele's home is in fact just one big studio. Love at first sight with techno brought him into contact with his other great passion in life: music production. A chance meeting with Alen Sforzina in Croatia in 2005 led to the foundation of the GraFit Project, whose early collaborations were released on Italian label Urban Mantra and German label Toneman. Walking through the backyards of techno Daniele has been introduced and welcomed into many electronic families but it was his solo track Church of Nonsense, released in May 2008 that brought him international acclaim as the artist behind a track considered at the cornerstone of the techno genre. While his studio productions are chart-topping successes which reach a broad audience, he has also earned professional respect as a producer with a musical output characterised by a subtility and sophistication. Since he first caught the techno-bug in 1998 he has never been able to escape the dancefloor as dj. His trademark sound immediately recalls his complex musical history, an openness to the non-electronic world and genres of music often less associated with techno, whilst he balances a technical crispness with an alluring rhythmic warmth made for dancing. As well as continuing to play worldwide and in Berlin's top venues, like Watergate and Arena, and of course the infamous underground one-off Sleep is Commercial parties, he is also a resident at the cities best summer terrace, Club der Visionaere. Right now Daniele is also focusing on his Pausenraum Studio and working on various different projects ranging from techno to indie. He is still heavily involved in his own Noisy Glance music project and of course is a central part of his Berlin-family, Sleep is Commercial.
