    In this very special episode, we have a recording of our first live event in the series: South Asian Entrepreneur Stories. We hosted a panel of three fantastic guests who share their experience of launching their business and the challenges that come along with scaling their business. In this episode we talk through: How they got their business started The challenges they faced in the business validation stage How they went about growing and scaling their business And finally discussing where the business is today and what plans they have for the future The conversation becomes particularly interesting as we learn about the different approaches they had to use depending on whether they had a services business or a product business.     In today's episode we are speaking to Gursevak Shergil, also known as Tony, who is the CEO of BritAsia TV. BritAsia TV is a popular TV channel, targeting the young Asian demographic, broadcasting on Sky and FreeView in the UK, as well as expanding to India, Canada, Europe and Africa. Tony's first foray into the world of TV and Media came when he launched Sikh Channel, the first TV channel dedicated to Sikhs in the world. He then held various senior roles at broadcasting organisations including Sikh TV before wanting to explore TV from a cultural perspective which led him to bid for and successfully purchase BritAsia TV.     In this episode, we speak to Mehak Kansal, owner of Bindas Eatery, a delicious Indian street food restaurant, inspired by the dishes sold at foodie hubs throughout India. After completing stints in a legal career and working in the family business, Mehak followed her passion for food by starting blogs. She then received a present to host a supper club which meant designing a menu, selling tickets, cooking dishes and hosting a dinner party which received rave reviews. Mehak's popularity grew as she entered a cooking competition where she won the 2018 Westfield Food Entrepreneur Award, which resulted in her receiving a prime pop-up location at Westfield Shopping Centre White City for her to go to market with her fabulous food creations.     In this episode, we speak to Someit Sidhu, founder of Izana Bioscience. Someit studied Medicine at the University of Oxford, and trained as a Medical Doctor at University Hospital Birmingham. Being commercially curious, Someit took up a position as an Associate at McKinsey & Company. He then amalgamated his experiences and co-found Izana Bioscience, a biopharmaceutical company focused on bringing innovative science to market through the development of namilumab for the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis. More recently Someit has been investigating the use of namilumab in the treatment of Covid-19. Someit has just completed the sale of Izana Bioscience and talks about the process in the episode. We also touch on his artistic side of writing poetry and songs which is a passion he shares with his father, who has written popular songs for the Bhangra industry.
