"Bitcoin is a rights-protection entity." Tomer Strolight returns for his ninth visit — and reads four of his own essays start to finish, with conversation in between: Bitcoin Is More, Living With AI, AI Built to Survive, and This Is Not the End. We discuss why Bitcoin isn't a price but a superstate no government on earth can reach — even as Iran floats a Bitcoin toll in the middle of a war — why self-custody is the whole point, and how inflation's slow squeeze is finally being felt by everyone. Then it turns: three short stories about living with AI, and what we surrender when we let a machine do our thinking for us. No host intro, no warm-up. We open cold, on Tomer's voice. "Bitcoin is not physical gold. You can kill Bitcoin." Matthew Kratter — who runs Bitcoin University, did a PhD in literature under René Girard, and ran global macro at Peter Thiel's hedge fund — joins the show to explain why he now holds nearly everything he owns in Bitcoin, and why he's become one of the loudest voices warning that Bitcoin is under attack from the inside. We trace the improbable path first: from Girard's seminar table to growing Thiel's $50M Roth into a $2 billion fund, and the 20 years trading that taught him to spot financial engineering "traps" — the same TradFi tricks he says are now being smuggled back into Bitcoin. Then it turns to the civil war happening right now: how Bitcoin Core blew open OP_RETURN and "went rogue," why spam and CSAM are an existential risk to node runners, what BIP-110 actually does, and who really controls the network (hint: not the miners, devs, or exchanges). His thesis throughout — consensus flows from culture — and his answer to all of it: stop being a spectator, run a node, and mine from home. Subscribe so you never miss an episode.

The same tactics that let Vincent Camarda operate for nearly a decade undetected are running in crypto right now — complexity as cover, trust as a weapon, and diversification as a lie. In this episode, Chip Mahoney breaks down how financial fraud actually works, why most people never see it coming, and where real value is being captured in digital assets while everyone else is getting played. (Current price of oil contract is $95 and December contract is $75) Oil Prices may be BOGUS - But What About Gas? Gas Prices More Manipulation - The Trump administration has discussed trading in the oil futures market as a strategy to help curb surging crude prices amid the war in Iran, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said. - US would just sell future contracts and then deliver at those prices at the end of the contract date. (SPR/Venezuela?) - Not sure how markets will take an intervention like that. - Remember when short selling was banned on Financials back in the 2008 ----Stock prices continued to fall during the ban and tended to stabilize only after it was lifted, suggesting the ban did not stop the decline. ------ Seems that when government intervenes in free markets they can set off more panic as the optics make it look even worse. ---- AND- Russian Oil sanctions partially removed Inflation and ECO - PCE Prices stay elevated - GDP rose at a seasonally and inflation-adjusted annual rate of just 0.7% in the fourth quarter, according to a Commerce Department revision Friday. - The first revision of the GDP reading was a sharp step down from the previous estimate of 1.4% and well below the Dow Jones consensus forecast for 1.5%. - The core PCE inflation rose 0.4% in January and 3.1% on a 12-month basis. The 160m antenna broke today and the 20M Yagi is also damaged and not in use. We have spare parts ready forthe antennas, but currently it is deemed unsafe to raise the Yagi in this strong wind. In this episode of Tank Talks, Matt Cohen sits down with Hugh Kolias, Co-Founder and CEO of Canada Rocket Company, right as the company exits stealth with a $6.2M all-Canadian seed round backed by Ripple Ventures, BDC, Garage Capital, and others. Hugh breaks down the real mission: give Canada sovereign, medium-lift launch capability, so we're not dependent on foreign nations to put critical satellites into orbit, while still building a business that can win globally. They get into the “hard part” behind the headline: pulling top-tier aerospace talent back home (including veterans from SpaceX), choosing a propulsion strategy that stays competitive by the time the rocket actually reaches orbit, and building a Canadian supply chain without over-verticalizing too early. If you care about dual-use tech, defense tailwinds, or what it actually takes to go from “deck” to “orbit,” this one's a blueprint. From Calgary to PropTech Exit to Rockets (02:13)* Hugh's path: mechanical engineering, a detour into finance, then building and selling a PropTech SaaS business.* Why deep tech finally felt “doable” in Canada: shifting market appetite + policy momentum.Repatriating Talent and Building a Team That Can Actually Ship (07:01)* How Hugh discovered just how many Canadians were already working across elite aerospace teams.* The pitch that works: Canada's stability + genuinely hard problems + a rare “clean sheet” chance. The SpaceX Co-Founder Moment (09:38)* How Hugh recruited his co-founder David, a former SpaceX engineer who helped optimize Falcon 9.* Why “paper to orbit” is the kind of challenge that pulls experienced builders in fast. The Medium-Lift Strategy and Why Small Launch Fell Off (12:20)* CRC's focus: ~6,000 kg to LEO (the market gap between small launch and heavy lift).* The key market shift: satellites didn't keep shrinking once launch costs dropped, so demand moved upmass.Methalox, Reusability, and Not Building a Rocket That's Obsolete on Arrival (15:51)* Why CRC is betting on Methalox vs Kerolox: reusability economics and less refurbishment burden.* Their cycle choice: keep it simpler early (open-cycle gas gen) and iterate toward more advanced designs later.Supply Chain, Partnerships, and Making It Actually Canadian (19:23)* Why CRC prioritizes partnerships early instead of trying to vertically integrate everything on day one.* Designing to match Canada's industrial strengths (ex: metals/welding realities vs composites constraints).Government Tailwinds: Defense, Sovereignty, and Capital Unlock (23:47)* How rising defense focus and sovereign launch priorities change the startup math for deep tech.* The bigger point: the “space multiplier” effect and why governments care (jobs, manufacturing, spillovers).Timeline to Orbit and the Hiring Wave (34:01)* Benchmarks Hugh cites: ~4 years and ~$160M (inflation-adjusted) to reach orbit for top performers.* Scale expectations: ~150 people for light lift to orbit, then 500–1,000 for medium lift + manufacturing.About Hugh KoliasCo-Founder and CEO, Canada Rocket CompanyHugh Kolias is a Canadian founder who previously built and sold a PropTech SaaS company before returning to his original obsession: space. We are finally revisiting Silicon Motion (SIMO), a small-cap semiconductor stock we've held onto during their poor performance. After sitting in value purgatory, the company is back in growth mode and they have dropped some not so subtle hints at their partnership with Nvidia. In this video, we break down:--What a NAND flash controller actually does and why IDMs (like Samsung and Micron) might be forced to outsource more work to Silicon Motion in 2026.-- The CEO all but confirmed they are designing the boot drive controller for Nvidia's Bluefield-4 DPUs. We analyze what this Nvidia bump means for their bottom line.Valuation: With margins expanding toward 50% and revenue growing, is SIMO still a deal at $110/share?The MaxLinear Drama: An update on the failed merger and the $160M termination fee arbitration that could finally be resolved this year.If you are looking for a semiconductor play outside the massive trillion-dollar giants, this episode is for you.Watch next: https://youtu.be/JxpoNjBCmDkhttps://youtu.be/_uvIkPwDu5AJoin us on Discord with Semiconductor Insider, sign up on our website: www.chipstockinvestor.com/membershipSupercharge your analysis with AI! Tonight on On Trial, Mark Radulich and Jesse Starcher put two divorces in the dock: Danny DeVito's The War of the Roses (1989) vs. Jay Roach's pseudo-remake The Roses (2025). DeVito's film—adapted from Warren Adler's 1981 novel, scripted by Michael J. Leeson and produced by James L. Brooks and Arnon Milchan—reunites Romancing the Stone stars Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner, with DeVito as the couple's lawyer. A pitch-black farce of marital escalation, it cost about $26M and grossed about $160M worldwide. Roach and writer Tony McNamara retool the premise for modern resentment: Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman, plus Allison Janney, Kate McKinnon, Andy Samberg, and Ncuti Gatwa, as careers invert and the gloves come off. Released Aug. 29, 2025, it opened around $6.3M domestically and has earned about $15.3M in the U.S./Canada on an estimated $35M budget. We break down what each version keeps, what it softens, and whether satire or therapy-era realism lands harder in 2026Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

With Kyle Tucker off the board, the Mets are staring into the void and Evan lays out why Cody Bellinger is not a realistic “panic buy,” even with rumors of the Yankees sitting around five years and $160M. If the Mets wouldn't go long for Tucker or Alonso, why would they suddenly cave to Scott Boras? Then the debate turns into the uncomfortable part: what's the actual pivot? Evan pitches a wild, short-term, mega-AAV idea for Bo Bichette that's basically a Tucker-style offer to blow him away, get an opt-out, and take another swing at free agency before 30. The problem: where does he play, and how much run prevention are you willing to sacrifice to get a real bat? Tiki pushes back on the defensive domino effect, the “versatility” trap, and the weekly second-guessing Mets fans would live through. The guys kick around the alternatives (including a one-year Eugenio Suárez power play), plus why pitching still has to be the priority no matter what. And of course, the segment ends with the same challenge: if you hate the plan, tell us a better one.

In this episode of the FreightWaves Morning Minute, the U.S. Department of Transportation has officially withheld $160 million in safety funding from California following a dispute over commercial driver's licenses. The state missed a critical deadline to revoke thousands of licenses issued to foreign drivers, a situation federal officials describe as a systemic collapse of safety protocols. Shifting to the rails, the Surface Transportation Board has introduced a proposal designed to give captive shippers access to competing lines through reciprocal switching. By removing the requirement to prove anti-competitive conduct, this regulatory change aims to foster competition and offer more options to businesses served by a single railroad. Additionally, a new quarterly report from U.S. Bank and DAT warns that a shrinking carrier pool could cause shipping costs to spike rapidly if demand rebounds. In this episode of The Daily, we uncover why many freight brokers are structurally losing roughly $19 on every load despite seemingly stable contract rates. We break down the "negative operating leverage trap" detailed in How are Freight Brokers Staying Afloat? that is forcing companies to burn cash while desperately chasing volume. The conversation shifts to the rail sector, where CSX lays off 5% of management staff, furloughs conductors in a move that signals a permanent shift toward leaner operations. These deep cuts reflect a broader industry trend of redrawing profitable baselines amidst challenging economic conditions and declining high-margin traffic. Regulatory pressure is also intensifying, as the DOT strips California of $160M over foreign truckers for failing to revoke thousands of unlawfully issued commercial driver's licenses. This systemic collapse in the state's licensing process threatens to tighten capacity further in the stressed West Coast freight market. We also examine compliance risks, highlighting a case where an air cargo contractor reimburses Postal Service for fraudulent billing after falsifying delivery scans to avoid late penalties. This recurring pattern of fraud underscores the rigorous compliance demands fleets must manage alongside financial pressures. Physical risks are escalating as well, with new analysis on Minneapolis, 1992, and What Fleets Need to Know About the Insurrection Act as state and federal tensions create volatile conditions for urban logistics. Fleet operators are urged to prioritize real-time visibility and safety training to navigate these potential disruptions effectively. Finally, we look at market data where U.S. Bank, DAT launch quarterly truck freight rates report showing that carrier capacity is quietly shrinking while contract rates hold steady. This disconnect raises the critical question of which sector will force a necessary margin reset in the coming year. NIO 2025 + XPeng's Problem, OpenAI + SoftBank & Chip Smugglers

Courtside Financial Podcast

NIO ended 2025 up 26%, but the journey was wild. XPeng kept over-promising. OpenAI just became too big to fail. And $160 million in Nvidia chips got smuggled to China. This is my 2025 year-end review covering everything that mattered.Thank you for rocking with Courtside Financial all year. Happy New Year! Let me know what content you want to see in 2026.NIO'S 2025 FULL STORYNIO started at $4.55, peaked at $7.89 in October, closed at $5.50 - up 26% for the year.Key moments: February Onvo L60 image sparked 10% jump. March capital raise tanked stock to $3.75, but $4B Hong Kong offering funded growth. April brought Shen Fei as new Onvo president. July-August surge: L60 pre-sales drove 40% gain, third-gen ES8 launch added another 23% spike. September $1B raise initially dropped 9% but rallied 30% as investors recognized growth funding. Stock peaked October 2 at $7.89. November declined 24% as China subsidies ended. December 30 brought 2026 subsidy news, stock closed year at $5.50.Bottom line: NIO executed three-brand strategy, launched Onvo and Firefly, improved margins, raised capital twice. Now faces proving profitability at scale.XPENG'S OVER-PROMISING PROBLEMHe Xiaopeng announced "orders exceeded expectations" five times in 2025 - only MONA M03 delivered. New P7 peaked at 8,104 September units then crashed to 2,882 by November despite 40 units/hour capacity. G7 got 10,000 orders in 9 minutes but sales fell to 2,500-3,500 units while Tesla Model Y averaged 38,000.Service failures: 7,000+ owners complained after $5,000 chip upgrades caused system crashes. XPeng promised nationwide CNGP in 2022 - still only 5 cities despite customers paying $39,000 extra. Trust matters when markets get tough.OPENAI TOO BIG TO FAIL?SoftBank invested $41 billion in OpenAI on December 26, now owns 11%. Microsoft owns 27%. OpenAI valued $300-500 billion, not yet profitable. Committed to $1.4 trillion infrastructure spending. SoftBank sold entire $5.8B Nvidia stake to fund this. The question: Has OpenAI become too big to fail? If it fails, SoftBank, Microsoft, Oracle all hurt. Data centers, Nvidia's growth, entire AI buildout slows. System has to keep OpenAI alive because letting it fail craters too much. That's "too big to fail" - saw it with banks in 2008.OpenAI burns billions, revenue growing but so are costs. If AI hype slows, they have problems. But investors can't let them fail now, will keep funding betting revenue catches up. Risk is real when you build this big, this fast on this much investment.CHIP WARS: $160M SMUGGLING BUSTDOJ unsealed Operation Gatekeeper December 8. October 2024-May 2025: Smugglers moved $160M+ in Nvidia H100/H200 GPUs to China. These chips power AI, same ones OpenAI uses. Export-controlled, can't legally sell to China. How: Fake companies, falsified documents, relabeled chips as "Sandkyan," routed through multiple warehouses. May 28 raid in New Jersey caught three trucks picking up chips. Smugglers used group chat - when police arrived, chat said "dissolve group, delete everyone." Too late.Three arrested, one pleaded guilty facing 10 years. Estimates show 10,000 to hundreds of thousands chips smuggled in 2024.Why China needs them: Building domestic chips but years behind. 60%+ of Chinese AI models still run on Nvidia. Chinese companies pay 2x-5x premium, smugglers risk prison to supply.Trump twist: Same day as bust, Trump posted US would allow H200 exports if government gets 25% cut - exact chips being smuggled. Defense attorneys asked how they're national security threats when President approves export.Reality: Export controls don't work when incentives this strong. Continues until China develops competitive chips (years away), US loosens controls (Trump willing), or AI demand crashes (not happening).

In a recent episode of the How I Met My Broker podcast, hosts Liam Garman and Hung Chuy sit down with Steve Maroun, director at Lanevick, to unpack the realities of stepping from investing into property development. Maroun shares how his journey began after his family lost everything but their home during the global financial crisis (GFC), which pushed him to abandon a law degree and learn property development from the ground up. By knocking on doors, taking on hands-on jobs like painting fences and renovating kitchens, and eventually buying the house next door as his first project, he effectively created his own "degree" in development. Throughout the episode, Maroun and Chuy stress that development is not for the faint-hearted, demanding resilience, adaptability, and the ability to tackle projects "one bite at a time". They explain that successful developers need to master four key pillars – finance, construction, sales, and town planning/design – to identify a site's highest and best use and navigate regulations. A key theme is the power of complementary partnerships, illustrated by Maroun's design and construction expertise, combining with Chuy's financial strategy to unlock value on a complex Western Sydney site. For aspiring developers, they emphasise education, understanding the end buyer and council objectives, building a strong expert team, embracing innovations such as prefab and 3D printing, and honestly assessing whether development suits one's life stage and risk appetite.

Despite the high noise level, we're moving forward with great personal satisfaction, sometimes at the expense of the usual CW/SSB modes, but often it's a necessary choice. We're enjoying good openings on the 6 meters band toward Europe, around 11:00 GMT, with a few shorter ones toward Asia as well. In the afternoon, around 15:00 GMT, the SIX band will open again. We've been transmitting for the second night in a row on 80 and have logged several nice QSOs. In the coming days, we'll likely make some tests on 160m, though without too many expectations. Finally, we've been receiving many emails about call corrections and typing errors, our apologies, but this is not the right time. Samir Alhafith, founder of The Sydney Project, and Navy Clearance Diver Lieutenant Rus Pnevski take us deep into one of NSW's most enduring maritime mysteries — the rediscovery of the SS Nemesis. Built in 1880 by Thomas Turnbull & Sons in Whitby, England, the steamship was later used to haul coal between Newcastle and Melbourne and was tragically lost in a savage gale off Wollongong on the night of July 8–9, 1904, taking all 32 crew members with her.For over a century, the location of the 73-metre iron-hulled wreck remained unknown. Debris and bodies washed ashore at Cronulla, but the hull eluded discovery — until May 2022, when Subsea Professional Marine Services stumbled upon it by accident while searching for lost shipping containers roughly 26 km offshore in about 160 metres of water.Identification came after CSIRO's RV Investigator conducted high-resolution seafloor mapping with multibeam echosounders and captured drop-camera footage of key structural features — including two of the ship's anchors — confirming the wreck as the long-lost SS Nemesis. Now the wreck lies upright on a sandy plain, with serious damage to its bow and stern. The storm appears to have overwhelmed the engine, and a massive wave struck before lifeboats could be launched, sealing its fate.In this episode, Samir and Rus walk us through their historic dive — the first human dive on the wreck in over 120 years. We share video footage from the team, taking you deep into the thrill and discovery, the history that nearly vanished, and even the gear troubles they faced in 160-metre depths. Do you have feedback or an opinion to share with us? What separates good franchisors from great ones? This episode unpacks the lessons behind building, scaling, and selling franchise brands that thrive long term. Kevin Wilson has spent his career at the intersection of strategy and franchising, turning ideas into nationally recognized brands and scaling businesses others thought couldn't be scaled. From growing Mosquito Joe into a 350-unit system before selling to Neighborly, to acquiring and expanding British Swim School from 60 to 360+ locations, his track record of franchise growth speaks for itself. In this conversation, Kevin shares what it really takes to grow a franchise brand. He explains how strong unit economics forms the foundation for success, why data and analytics transformed support for franchisees, and how brand positioning and marketing can set a concept apart in crowded industries. He also shares the critical factors franchisors should consider when deciding when to scale, when to exit, and how to prepare for the next wave of shifts such as AI, technology, and rising customer expectations.Kevin is the Chairman and CEO of Buzz Franchise Brands, a multi-brand franchising company that includes Pool Scouts (pool cleaning), Home Clean Heroes (residential home cleaning), The British Swim School (swimming lessons), Wonderly Lights (holiday lighting), and the former owner of Mosquito Joe, a 350-unit system before selling to Neighborly in 2018. Prior to this, he co-founded Volaris, a low-cost airline and now the largest airline in Mexico, spent several years in Private Equity and oversaw $160M in capital, was an Executive with South African Airways, and prior to this was a Consultant with Bain and Company in the Dallas Office. Whether you're an emerging franchisor or leading a multi-brand system, this episode is packed with practical insights to help you scale smarter and build a franchise brand that lasts.Connect with Kevin WilsonBuzz Franchise Brands - https://buzzfranchisebrands.com/Email - k.wilson@buzzfranchisebrands.comLinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/kevinwilsonbfb/Episode Highlights:Kevin's journey from Bain and Company to bagels to Buzz Franchise BrandsLessons learned building and selling Mosquito JoeHow positioning and marketing transformed franchise growthHow data and real-time analytics transformed franchisee supportHow Kevin timed his Mosquito Joe exit by watching franchise valuationsAcquiring British Swim School and scaling it from 60 to 360+ locationsThe role of purpose and mission in franchise growthWhat franchisors must prepare for next: AI, technology, and rising customer expectationsConnect with Tracy Personal LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/tracy-panase/ JBF LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/jbfsale JBF Franchise System - https://jbfsalefranchise.com/ Email: podcast@jbfsale.com Connect with Shannon Personal LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/shannonwilburn/ JBF LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/jbfsale Website - https://shineexecutivecoaching.com/ Email - shannon@shineexecutivecoaching.com

GDP Script/ Top Stories for July 12th Publish Date: July 12th PRE-ROLL: From the BG AD Group Studio Welcome to the Gwinnett Daily Post Podcast. Today is Saturday, July 12th and Happy Birthday to Christine McVie I’m Peyton Spurlock and here are your top stories presented by Gwinnett KIA Mall of Georgia. Gwinnett charges dropped against detained journalist Mario Guevara Georgia Power to update energy forecasts amid uncertain demand Lawmakers conclude listening tour on access to cancer care All of this and more is coming up on the Gwinnett Daily Post podcast, and if you are looking for community news, we encourage you to listen daily and subscribe! Break 1: 07.14.22 KIA MOG STORY 1: Gwinnett charges dropped against detained journalist Mario Guevara Local journalist Mario Guevara, known for covering Atlanta's Hispanic community and ICE operations, is no longer facing traffic charges in Gwinnett County. Solicitor General Lisamarie Bristol announced insufficient evidence to prosecute charges of reckless driving, unlawful use of a telecommunication device, and failure to obey signs, as the incidents occurred on private property. However, Guevara still faces federal immigration charges, with ICE questioning his legal status despite his work permit and ongoing efforts toward permanent residency. Guevara claims he is being targeted for his journalism, which has drawn local and national attention. STORY 2: Georgia Power to update energy forecasts amid uncertain demand Georgia Power's 2025 Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) faces scrutiny for overestimating energy demand, driven by the rapid growth of data centers. Critics, including environmental groups, argue the projections could leave ratepayers covering billions in stranded assets if demand falls short. While Georgia Power committed to updating forecasts and reporting on large-load projects, many called for stronger demand-side management (DSM) efforts to reduce energy needs. The utility plans to increase DSM spending from $90M to $160M annually, but some remain dissatisfied. The PSC will vote next week, with debates ongoing over coal plant operations and natural gas upgrades. STORY 3: Lawmakers conclude listening tour on access to cancer care Around 66,000 Georgians will be diagnosed with cancer this year, with 19,000 deaths expected, prompting state lawmakers to study ways to reduce these rates. Georgia exceeds national averages for lung, prostate, breast, and colorectal cancer, with rural areas facing significant barriers to care due to rising costs, limited access, and medical industry consolidation. Experts highlighted issues like pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) controlling drug markets and low reimbursement rates for clinics. Lawmakers aim to address drug pricing, access to screenings, and systemic healthcare challenges, with plans to continue studying cancer care access and solutions. We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. Call 770.874.3200 for more info. We’ll be right back Break 2: STORY 4: Deputies: Buford man threw deep freezer at 59-year-old at Lake Lanier after fight over nudity A Buford man, Logan Nicholas Young, 42, was arrested on July 3 after a bizarre incident on Lake Lanier involving public indecency, a fight, and a flying deep freezer. Young allegedly got naked on a boat, argued with a 59-year-old man, punched him, and later threw a deep freezer at him, causing a head injury and knocking him into the lake. Deputies found Young hiding under a bed on his houseboat after he ignored their attempts to contact him. He was charged with six offenses, including aggravated assault, and released on bond on July 6. STORY 5: Robert Michener named Gateway85 CID's interim executive director The Gateway85 Community Improvement District (CID) appointed longtime employee Robert Michener as interim executive director following Emory Morsberger's resignation after nearly 20 years of involvement. Michener, with 17 years at Gateway85, previously served as director of operations, overseeing infrastructure, security, and landscaping projects. Board Chairman Shiv Aggarwal praised Morsberger's contributions and welcomed Michener's leadership during the transition. The CID will continue focusing on economic development, mobility, and quality of life improvements as it searches for a permanent leader. Michener expressed excitement about guiding the district's next phase of growth. Break 3: STORY 6: 'Superman' stars excited to bring DC reboot to theaters Edi Gathegi, Isabela Merced, and Anthony Carrigan star in the new "Superman" reboot, with Gathegi playing Mr. Terrific, Merced as Hawkgirl, and Carrigan debuting as Metamorpho. At a red carpet event in Atlanta, Gathegi contrasted his survival as Mr. Terrific with his infamous death as Darwin in "X-Men: First Class." Merced highlighted the mix of CGI and practical sets, comparing her Hawkgirl role to her experience in "Dora the Explorer." Carrigan, excited to bring fan-favorite Metamorpho to life, praised the detailed makeup used instead of CGI. STORY 7: Gwinnett fire investigators say arsonist tried to burn down Lawrenceville home Gwinnett County fire officials are investigating a suspected arson at a Lawrenceville home on Clairidge Lane on June 27. Firefighters responded to a fire alarm and smoke report, discovering an incendiary device behind the home. The fire was out by the time they arrived, and no injuries were reported. Officials are seeking public help to identify the suspect, with a potential reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Tips can be directed to the Gwinnett Fire Investigations Section or the Georgia Arson Control Hotline.
