A genre originally from the 80s combining influences from the psychedelic 60s era with a whole new soundscape, this genre is as weird as it is mystical, magical and often beautiful. The experimentation with sonic textures with reverb, echo, effects pedals as well as whimsical, operatic or breathy vocals from bands like the Cocteau Twins, This Mortal Coil and A.R.
