Erin Rachel Doppelt is a spiritual psychology & meditation teacher with her Master's in Psychology from Columbia University. She spent her 20's living in Israel, India and across Asia & Europe studying with diverse gurus and yogic educators. She is the CEO and Founder of the international brand Spiritual Intelligence LLC, which hosts certification trainings and brings business & spiritual courses to support those who desire to live their most unedited, nourished and soul-authentic life. Erin founded The Align Coaching Certification™ where you become a certified meditation teacher & spiritual psychology coach. She also created UpLevel Meditation™ which is a specific active meditation framework supporting those in healing anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD & shifting negative thoughts towards the light. Erin's work has been featured in Healthline, SXSW, NIKE, NBC and Google, and her first book Nothing Can Stop You comes out in May, 2024. In this episode, we talk about Erin's upbringing in Chicago, the impact of having a confident mother and the blessing of not being psychologically pathologized in childhood. We talk about her painful memories in college, and the people pleasing conditioning that she (and many young women) internalize about constantly keeping it “light and fun,” and how when we consistently feel the need to wear the “chill girl” masks, we can become disconnected from the parts of ourselves that may be in pain and desire to be seen and felt. We explore her experiences of feeling anxiety in college, and how these intense feeling states were catalysts that lead her to radically honor her desire to heal. We talk about Erin's travels through Europe, Israel, Asia and elsewhere, and how she learned about the ways in which the other side of the world thinks, feels, lives, and heals themselves, and how she now integrates these ancient practices into her work today. Erin talks about living alone during her travels, and how her space in solitude invited her to deeply know and trust herself, and from this place she became fully grounded in her authenticity & purpose, and her decision to claim an unchartered life path. Erin talks about the importance of sitting with intense emotional states, sharing about how anxiety, depression, seasonal sadness, etc. are wise messengers that it is time to wake up and take radical action to heal. Hello beautiful humans! Welcome to Lotus Minded! In this first official episode, I introduce you to myself and the podcast, sharing some of the stories from my personal "lotus journey," that lead to the creation of this channel. In addition to sharing parts of my own lotus story, I also talk about the spiritual & psychological frameworks that I use for understanding trauma, healing, and recovery. I discuss the inner child (and its inherent goodness / buddha nature), emotional wounding, shame, shadow parts, the inner critic, maladaptive coping tools, and the divine inner mother. This episode kicks off our journey of exploring how humans have alchemized their pain into purpose, looking at the various ways that they have turned their personal poison into collective medicine that they now share with the world.
