Meet Elizabeth Overstreet, the Love Strategist I'm here because of a lifetime of love stories – not all of them with happy endings. I've lived many love stories that I thought would turn out differently. I got married at a young age, then divorced – forced to unweave and break myself from unhealthy relationship patterns, often not getting it right many times in the process, but finally figuring out what worked best. I went on to navigate the uncertainties of dating as a single parent. Later, I got married and began to figure out the love that comes with having a blended family. My parents were married for 57 years. My grandparents were together for 60+. These healthy love stories seemed to be teaching me that having one was possible. So after my first marriage didn't work out as I envisioned it would, I began to look back with a more strategic perspective – leaning on my background in the business world – critically considering what role I'd truly played and identifying how and where I could have taken more action. In this reflective journey, I finally realized that I did play a part in relationships ending and I'd been self-sabotaging. The gift is that through doing this important work, I discovered a practical path forward to both heal myself and build a more satisfying relationship with my now husband. I only got to this place by studying what makes lasting love last. As I became a relationship strategist, what I found is that the fluffy theories don't work because they aren't actionable, and they don't involve you in the action. They don't involve the value of knowing who you are, what you want, and what's been holding you back. Because so often, the hardest person to see (and to love) is yourself. Yet, if you could have the tools and the guide to be able to do that – to be able to love and bring your whole self into a relationship – there is a way forward to a more lasting love story. But that journey has to start with those resources – those strategies. That's why I became a relationship strategist in 2016 – why I wrote a book on the subject – and why I speak and serve as an expert for leading platforms like ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, and others… because you deserve a true roadmap to a real love story. I know the twists and turns that happen along the way to love. I've lived many of them myself, and I've learned from others as they have successfully weathered the storms. It is possible to find your practical path to love – but it's even more important to remember that it always starts with you. Damon's numerous television appearances include BET's Comicview annually since '94 including his own one hour special. He's been featured on BET LIVE,Comedy Central's Premium Blend, The Joyner Skyshow on TV ONE and HBO's P Diddy's Bad Boys of Comedy. Williams even hosted several episodes of the legendary Showtime at the Apollo formerly hosted by TV star Steve Harvey. In 1999 Damon performed for over 300,000 fans as the opening act for the highly successful Kings of Comedy Tour, establishing him as one of the elite comics in the nation. Damon is a veteran of The Us Comedy Arts festival in Aspen. Damon headlined the Cedric the Entertainer Comedy Revue. Damon is a crowd favorite on the college, club and concert circuit. Damon also performs internationally with regular appearances in Canada with stops in Vancouver, Montreal and every long weekend in Edmonton. Damon was recently featured on The Real Deal Comedy Jam, which airs in the UK. Williams can be seen on the current season of HBO's Def Comedy Jam. Ashley’s formal education stems from Albany State University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and from American Intercontinental University, a Masters of Business Administration in International Marketing. Previously, Ashley was the Marketing and Communications Manager at Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, Florida; a Donor Relations Fundraiser and Director of the Reading/Writing Lab at Albany State University and an English Instructor at Darton State College in Albany, Georgia; and an English and Reading Instructor at Chungdahm Institute, an elite, private institution, in Seoul, South Korea. In her role as an English Instructor at Chungdahm Institute, Ms. Ashley taught all academic subjects in English: Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Mathematics, and more. As an English Instructor for Darton State College, Ashley specialized in teaching composition, syntax, and punctuation. Additionally at DSC, she taught First-Year Experience (FYE) courses with an intense focus on the Darton College history, campus life, student life skills, successful learning, student advising, wellness, and financial literacy. As faculty, Ashley has also served on committees: the Academic Committee and the Partners in Excellence Committee. Ashley has also worked closely with Darton College’s Service Learning Program, as a mentor to several students. Tristan Cunningham started her performing days when she was only ten years old touring with Vermont’s own home grown country circus, Circus Smirkus. After running away with the circus for eight summers, she decided to change her focus to acting and graduated from S.U.N.Y Purchase Theater Arts and Film conservatory with a B.F.A. She now works between the Bay Area and Los Angeles as an actor, teaching artist, and circus performer, taking part in productions by the California Shakespeare Theater, Aurora Theater Company, African American Shakespeare Company, Shotgun Players, San Francisco Playhouse, Marin Shakespeare Company, Circus Bella, Medical Clown Project and many more. Her hope is to continue acting in theater, film and television.
