This week, I verbally process the diaster that was Astroworld and the warning signs that were ignored. Reports have been made that Travis Scott has encouraged his fans to rush the entrance gate(s) to his shows, especially if they do not have a ticket, to overwhelm police officers and security, to RAGE. Did Travis Scott create a Culture and Defiance that led to the death of eight people with many more injured? I'm asking questions. In this episode, my play big bro, Dr. Marcus Ex reveals a portion of his past that helped shape his present and provide the foundation for his educational/motivational movement "We All We Got" and institute, We All We Got University. "We All We Got" was coined by Dr. Marcus and it is a concept that continues to grow on me as I explore my role in contributing to my community. It is truly amazing and inspirational to recap with childhood friends and learn what motivates them, and I come away from this Conversation with a sharper understanding on how to help our communities and how to maintain your cultural awareness while transacting in mixed spaces. In this episode, I have a Conversation with childhood friend, Sue Watson-Carnevale about faith and how it fuels your purpose. As Sue discusses her past relationship and situation with her parents, I realized that she was being prepared to handle circumstances and care for her children with Special Needs. Through this Conversation, I realize that life often provides the best preparation and education, but also how to activate your faith, and how your faith fuels your purpose, and in Sue’s case, to have the faith to withstand and conquer the challenges associated with caring for two Special Needs children. And that is not the end or sum of Sue’s story. In fact, it’s just the beginning. Conversation about the departure of Black people from American, Christian Churches or just White Dominant Churches. Are there more inclusion in churches with Black leadership? Are the traditional practices and interpretations driving Blacks out of the church and into other faith practices? You decide. Michah Idris, owner of Michah's Mixx lemonade truck. Listen, to often the dominant society has answered out demands for equality and equity with performative actions; gestures that either do not fully address our issues exclusively as descendants of slaves and oppressed people; actions and expressions that are no more than pacifiers...AND THEY KNOW IT! Like many Black Americans, I do not care whose face is on the $20 dollar bill as long as I have access to it and it is not stolen or withheld from me. As the title says, RUN ME MY MONEY! Life is already hard enough. Why add negativity to what should be a healthy relationship with a partner that is supposed to be a close confidant? Somewhere along the way, we have been conditioned to equate love with strife and pain, no matter how small or great. That's not logical or safe. It's not logical because why would you intentionally hurt the ones closest to you? And WHY would you risk alienation or separation for a few minutes of please? We need to have our priorities and sensibilities re-evaluated so as to become true healthy and productive individuals. Many of Trump's supporters do no want to accept the fact that there is a new sheriff in town, and his name is Joe Biden. President Biden has issued, signed thirty executive orders during his first week, compared to Trump signing five executive orders his first week. Biden supporters say that the new president is reversing all of the "damage" made by Trump. The gag is many voters did not vote for Biden but voted against Trump. They simply wanted to ensure that Trump would not see a second term. I'm okay with that! Connect with Natural Soul Conversations on Facebook/Instagram: Natural Soul Conversations. Well, many who left Facebook for Parlor are now scurrying back after Parlor shut down. Why come back to this restrictive censorship-loving platform? It's one thing to hold and share convictions. It's quite another to spew hatred that incites violence and riots. No Black focused organization has ever behaved that way, despite the many lies that have been told. Oh well, welcome back! I am watching the inauguration for the first time in my life, and I have to say that it is not out of a sense of pride or patriotism, but out of a heightened sense of anxiety from not knowing what to expect from the outgoing administration. My hope, for the sake of the country, is that the ceremony goes off without a hitch or violence. Although this country has not been close to fair for Blacks, I remain hopeful and hold onto the fact that true freedom, equity, and restitution are on the way! How do you get your Twitter Account Banned...FOR LIFE?! The lifetime ban of Trump's Social Media Accounts should tempt the average person to reevaluate his mental stability and question if his motives are pure and righteous. I think most would have to admit that Trump has an agenda that only serves a group of people who do not believe in equity or justice for all.
