Are you or a loved one facing a trying loss and/or navigating grief? Audrey White is a grief coach who is here to help you pave a path from pain to peace. She shares her own personal journey with extreme tragedy and loss, to help all of the Risers & Thrivers to benefit from her experience and expertise. As a young woman myself who had once faced the words of a 2 month terminal prognosis at just 36 years old and with 2 babies in tow (11.5 bonus years ago and counting) all I wanted was for my nearest and dearest to live their brightest and richest lives ahead, if that prognosis had come true. Honour your loved one by truly "living" today in every way you can ...and learn the tools to start walking your path from pain to peace.
Risers and thrivers: Be inspired by my dear friend, Genevieve McLean! She's an inspirational "3" time cancer survivor and thriver, now living life to the fullest and married to Kirk McLean, a retired NHL goaltender and a true legend here in Vancouver! Genevieve first faced AML (leukaemia) as a child, when she did only 1/2 of the treatment protocol at BC Children's Hospital and left to pursue alternative medicine. It was a success. She was in remission for 9 years, then relapsed. She only learned of the relapse after an injury endured while snowboarding and went for a regular routine check up. As a young adult, she was treated at VGH and had a bone marrow transplant, with thanks to her incredible brother who served as her donor, her lifeline. Her 3rd time facing cancer was now 7 years ago, only 6 months after she first met Kirk. A 6X5inch adrenal tumour was discovered and fortunately, a surgical procedure to excise the Tumor was 100% successful. Despite all that she's faced, she's also professionally modelled, has achieved a degree in business, and has worked for the Yellow Pages Group for almost 15 years as a top sales rep in media sales! She's also given back to the cancer community in every way she can- she's volunteered at Camp Good Times (summer camp for kids with cancer) and has sat on the board of the Michael Cuccione Foundation. No matter what you are facing today, hold on to hope and actively seek out inspirational role models like Genevieve! Tag your friends who may need inspiration and follow along here @60daystolive2012 for more stories of hope, resilience and inspiration to be empowered to overcome your hard days and to live today with more vitality and joy! Risers and Thrivers: Get ready to be inspired by this small but mighty, adorable little cancer survivor, Jocelyn! Jocelyn was diagnosed with T-cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) at only 7 years old in 2019 and faced a gruelling 2 1/2 year battle ahead... but she never lost HOPE. Through it all Jocelyn would bring joy to other kids going through cancer treatments by bringing the gifts or marathon metals from an organization that had Jocelyn hand them out to other kids. Jocelyn finally rang the bell, finishing treatments in January of 2021. The time off treatment hasn't been easy for Jocelyn, it's been a roller-coaster of unknowns and ups and downs with her health. And yet, through it all, Jocelyn passionately continues to give back to the childhood cancer community that helped her through her own journey. She became the 2021 Girl of the Year for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of San Diego, and her amazing mom was also part of the Man and Woman of the Year for LLS organization in 2022! Through all of the unknowns Jocelyn is thriving. She is making leaps and bounds in school, playing club soccer, enjoying her busy social life with friends, planning fundraisers to help make dreams come true for other kids fighting cancer and the best part, making up for the lost time that cancer stole from her. Canada is a nation known around the World for it's multi cultural greatness. And yet, uncovered truths show that we've had a government who intentionally served to force children of Indigenous communities to attend "residential schools" for the purpose of cultural genocide.
