This week, in Chugiak, Alaska, a senseless murder is quickly solved, when one of the participants goes to police, and spills all the details. The problem is, this only leads to more murder, when the killers seek revenge on the one who squealed. An elaborate plan is hatched, among a family of criminals, leading to a huge explosion, and the wrong people being killed. Luckily, someone in the conspiracy had a conscience, and unravels the whole thing!!Along the way, we find out that in Alaska, you are just as likely to be eaten by a bear, as you are to be killed in any other way, that families who kill together, don't necessarily stay together, and that pregnant ladies named "Peggy" probably shouldn't participate in murders!!New episodes every Thursday & Friday!Donate at: patreon.com/crimeinsports or go to paypal.com and use our email: crimeinsports@gmail.comGo to shutupandgivememurder.com for all things Small Town Murder & Crime In Sports!Follow us on...twitter.com/@murdersmallfacebook.com/smalltownpodinstagram.com/smalltownmurderAlso, check out James & Jimmie's other show, Crime In Sports! In this deep-dive episode of the No Lowballers Podcast, hosts Logan Metesh of High Caliber History and Allen Forkner of GunBroker.com welcome researcher Justin Baird for a fascinating look at one of the most underrated rifles in U.S. history—the Krag-Jørgensen—and the two men who made it possible. More than just another bolt-action military rifle, the Krag-Jørgensen carries a story rooted in international innovation, unexpected design breakthroughs, and a friendship forged in engineering. From Ole Krag's privileged upbringing and passion for machinery to Erik Jørgensen's humble beginnings on a Norwegian farm, we explore how two very different men came together to revolutionize magazine-fed firearms in the late 19th century. Justin walks us through their backgrounds, their collaboration, and how their rifle went on to be adopted not just by Denmark and Norway, but also by the United States—becoming America's first smokeless powder service rifle. The episode also unpacks how myths around Krag "stealing" credit from Jørgensen persist to this day, despite their genuine partnership. Key Topics Discussed: The Origins of Ole Krag and Erik Jørgensen:Learn how one was the son of a prominent clergyman and the other the child of a rural blacksmith—and how their paths converged at Kongsberg's state arsenal in Norway. Innovation Through Cooperation:Justin explains how Krag's early designs and Jørgensen's mechanical skill merged to create a modular magazine system that would reshape military arms trials across Europe and the U.S. The Capsule Magazine That Changed Everything:Why Krag's “half capsule” design appealed to the Danish military, how it evolved, and how its quirks shaped the future of combat shooting strategies. Adoption in America:How U.S. Army trials led to the adoption of the Krag-Jørgensen, the tailored changes that made it uniquely American, and why it was eventually phased out in favor of the 1903 Springfield. The Krag-Jørgensen Company's Rise—and Fall:The lucrative U.S. contract that kept the company alive, the Sultan of Turkey's surprise offer, and how it all came crashing down when both money and momentum ran out. Tragedy and Legacy:The untimely death of Erik Jørgensen and the public speculation that followed. Justin shares how Krag spent the rest of his life defending Jørgensen's role in their joint success. Mid-bore cartridges kill nearly as profoundly as true big-bores, but recoil little more than common magnums. Of the mild big-bores, the .35 Whelen and 9.3x62 Mauser dominate. But which is best? In this episode John McAdams, host of the Big Game Hunting Podcast and a lifelong fan of the 9x3x62, joins me to discuss and debate the merits of the two. We dig deep into tech specs, tell personal buffalo and elephant hunting stories, debate best bullets for each cartridge, and generaly have a ton of fun. ENJOY! FRIENDS! Andreu: [1:28] Ara ho has intentat molt més, eh? Joan: [1:55] "Cling!! I jo: "Ui…" Andreu: [1:58] Sí. D'acord. Joan: [2:50] Ah, no? No havia sortit, encara? Andreu: [2:52] Va sortir, o sigui, publicat l'episodi just quan es parlava d'això, als mitjans. Andreu: [3:14] Un èxit, no? Because of the show, I became a dealer for Gideon Optics and Xtech Tactical, and I've built a great relationship with Mitchell Defense. The products have been exceptional, and I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you. Jason @ Standard Arms LLC. Yes in NJ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - from Warrior Of The Weekend - Integrity. Professionalism. Dignity. Honor. Respect. Even though this podcast severely lacks all of these traits, I still give it 5 stars for effort. What it does have is- Autism. Patriotism. Pathetisism. Diabetism. Not athleticism. These inglorious bastards get me through my workday. Great unbiased gun info. And Jeremy, I'll C U Next Tuesday. Ha! Please don't rage kill me you're not a cunt. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - from Scout 389 - Gentlemen, I've been a longtime listener of the show and have made multiple purchases of firearms, and products based of the recommendations provided by the cast. I've blown the budget on stuff from Swampfox, Gideon, Midwest, Brownell's, etc. One of the things that I never spent the money on was Second Call Defense. I always told myself that "I'll pick it up later". That is until a couple of weekends back when a family member of mine got into a shooting. He was hit but managed to kill his attacker. And while it is currently looking like it was a case of justified self defense, it really hit home to me that a.) This could happen any time, any where, and b.) Every bullet that you fire in this type of situation has a lawyer attached. The next day I signed up for Second Call Defense. I wish I would have done it sooner, but at least I am covered now. Thank you for the recommendation and for the great show. Also, Jeremy is a cunt.
On This Episode: In this episode of the Long Range Tactics Podcast, Cole Quarnberg and Matt Hornback break down the fundamentals of field zeroing. What is it, why does it matter, and how do you pull it off when you don't have access to a 100-yard range or paper targets? Whether you're deep in the backcountry or mid-match with shifting gear, knowing how to verify and adjust your zero in the field is a skill every shooter should have dialed. Cole and Matt share real-world stories from hunts and competitions where things went sideways—busted scopes, mystery POI shifts, and how a calm mindset paired with smart planning can save your hunt or your stage. They walk through practical tools, terrain tricks, and backup methods that help shooters stay confident when conditions aren't perfect. The conversation also dives into suppressor performance, including first impressions of the Thunderbeast Magnus KRR and how it stacks up in recoil control and sound suppression. From decibel meters to field experience, it's an honest look at what works and what's just hype. Topped off with gear prep talk, scope failures, torque checks, and why routine cleaning still matters, this episode brings a grounded, no-BS look at staying sharp when it counts. If you're serious about keeping your rifle ready and your head in the game, this one's worth a listen.
