How do you take a 100-plus-year-old automotive company with 158 manufacturing sites, operations in 28 countries, more than 60,000 employees, and over 30 brands and transform it into a top-performing company? That's the question at the heart of Tenneco's remarkable turnaround story. In less than three years, under the leadership of CEO Jim Voss and his team, Tenneco doubled its EBITDA margins, becoming a leader within its peer group. But before the performance came the hard part: confronting a deeply entrenched command-and-control culture and reimagining how leadership works inside a legacy automotive company. In Part 1 of this two-part series, Jim shares his unconventional path to the automotive industry, his private equity background with Apollo, what he discovered when he arrived at Tenneco in 2022, and why culture became the foundation of the company's transformation. This is a conversation about leadership, trust, organizational velocity, and the courage required to challenge decades of legacy thinking.Themes Discussed in this EpisodeWhy Tenneco's turnaround began with culture. What Jim found when he walked into Tenneco in 2022Breaking away from command-and-control leadershipWhy organizational velocity is now a competitive advantageThe challenge of transforming legacy automotive organizationsHow leaders create cultures that drive executionHigh care and high accountability as a leadership modelWhy manufacturing plants should sit at the top of the organizational pyramid
Interview with Hayden Locke, President & CEO of Marimaca Copper Corp. Our previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/marimaca-copper-tsxmari-tier-one-discovery-potential-alongside-mod-growth-10320Recording date: 8th June 2026Marimaca Copper's Pampa Medina discovery in Chile's Antofagasta region is emerging as a potentially world-class copper asset, with drilling confirming both exceptional grades and expanding scale. Recent results from key drill holes have defined an ultra high-grade bornite-rich core, including intersections such as 16 metres at 5.7% copper and 62.6 g/t silver. These findings sit within a broader mineralised column that can reach up to 100 metres in thickness at average grades around 1.2% copper, significantly enhancing the project's economic potential.Drilling has now confirmed mineralisation across an area exceeding 2 square kilometres, with the system remaining open along a northeast–southwest trend and at depth. Based on early geometric assumptions, the deposit could host between 120 million and 500 million tonnes of ore, depending on true thickness. The presence of mineralisation in multiple geological units, including newly identified zones in basement rocks, further supports the potential for substantial expansion. These developments are prompting a shift in mining strategy. Rather than a selective underground approach, Marimaca is evaluating bulk mechanised mining methods that could lower costs and allow extraction of a larger portion of the mineralised column. This shift could materially increase recoverable tonnage and improve project economics. While the Marimaca Oxide Deposit remains the company's near-term development priority—and is considered valuable enough to justify the current market valuation on its own—Pampa Medina is increasingly seen as a standalone tier-one opportunity. Ongoing drilling, a forthcoming maiden resource estimate, and strong copper market fundamentals position the discovery as a potentially significant asset in a supply-constrained global market, with the scale and location likely to attract interest from major mining companies.View Marimaca Copper's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/marimaca-copperSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

Brendan and The Boys return for a Monday recording recapping perhaps the biggest content week of the year! Now armed with a weekend of data following Friday's bonus Happy Hour episode, the three further unpack the absolute domination of Lanny Wadkins' $25 million renovation of TPC Craig Ranch by this week's field at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson. Wyndham Clark shot a final-round 60 en route to his first win in over two years, edging out Si Woo Kim and Scottie Scheffler atop the leaderboard. Joseph comes armed with stats showing that this might've been the easiest PGA Tour event ever and PJ is basking in the glow of a week that provided some of the most insane quotes possible regarding a host venue's ability to test the best players in the world. Brendan ponders whether Wyndham is back on track for a spot at this year's Presidents Cup as he seems to be in a better place after a "year of adversity" as was so often referenced on the broadcast. Blades Brown felt right at home during this week's birdie-fest, claiming that his time on the Korn Ferry Tour prepared him for tournaments like this. He secured his Special Temporary Membership on the PGA Tour with his top-15 finish, leading to a perplexing situation where he'll have to sacrifice much-needed KFT points in order to continue playing PGA Tour events. Brendan and Joseph argue that this should not be the case and wonder if this pathway will be adjusted moving forward. The three whip through the rest of this weekend's results, with PJ providing some exclusive on-the-ground nuggets from the Champions Tour stop in Morocco. They foray into a brief bit of news reporting from Eamon Lynch regarding the "Tier One" and "Tier Two" events on the 2028 PGA Tour schedule and whether the top-tier of players will be allowed to "move down" for a week and play "Tier Two" events. To close things out, Brendan, Joseph, and PJ follow up just a little bit on Friday's breaking news that Don Rea was dismissed from his post as President of the PGA of America. Don has stayed silent to this point, and so has the PGA despite promising a formal announcement on Friday afternoon. How long will this silence last? This podcast pledges to provide the most in-depth coverage possible regarding this ongoing situation. Phil Singleton spent years operating in the shadows — tier one SAS, Operation Nimrod, the Iranian Embassy siege — and then quietly disappeared into a second career training thousands of law enforcement officers across the U.S. as Training Director for Heckler & Koch. He doesn't carry a cell phone, doesn't chase recognition, and until now has been one of the most quietly consequential British operators most Americans have never heard of. This week Phil pulls back the curtain on what it really took to earn that winged dagger, what it was like to storm a foreign embassy in the middle of London on live television, and why — at 72 — he's perfectly content stacking bananas in a grocery store produce aisle with zero regrets. When a student or child is dysregulated, adults often focus entirely on finding the right words to say or the appropriate consequence to give. But what if the most critical factor in that interaction isn't the consequence itself, but the energy of the adult delivering it? Dr. Lori Desautels, an educator, researcher, and professor of applied educational neuroscience at Butler University, joins the podcast to reframe how we approach discipline, emotional regulation, and transitions. Her latest manual, Body and Brain Brilliance, emphasizes that true support, whether in a classroom or a living room, must begin with the adult's own nervous system. Emily and Lori discuss why transitions are biologically exhausting, how to build a vocabulary around physical sensations, and why traditional, punitive discipline models often escalate neurodivergent students. Lori also outlines a practical, compassionate framework for repairing ruptures between teachers and students, shifting the focus away from sheer compliance and toward co-regulation. TAKEAWAYS A dysregulated adult cannot effectively regulate a dysregulated child, making the adult's own awareness the first pillar of support. The goal isn't to be perfectly calm all the time, it's to cultivate "embodied awareness," recognizing the physical signs of when your nervous system is activated. Transitions are difficult because the brain consumes significant energy moving from a predictable, comfortable state into new expectations or environments. Effective discipline often requires an adult to offer their grounded nervous system to a child who needs to borrow a little stability. Outward behavior is not necessarily defiance, it's often an indicator that the nervous system is struggling and requires support. Late-diagnosed neurodivergent adults are frequently missed in clinical settings because their presentations - often masked by high intellect, outward compliance, or severe perfectionism - fail to match traditional diagnostic expectations. Join Emily Kircher-Morris on May 1st for a targeted continuing education training designed to equip mental health professionals with the updated frameworks necessary to identify and support this population. This session covers the clinical complexities of burnout, masking, and the internalized stigma that accompanies late identification. Interview with Peter Dembicki, President & CEO of Tier One SilverRecording date: 23rd March 2026Tier One Silver (TSXV:TSLV) is advancing an early-stage precious metals discovery in southern Peru that has delivered some of the highest-grade rock sampling results seen in the region. The company's 100%-owned Curibaya project has returned silver grades up to 300,000 grams per ton and gold grades approaching one kilogram, with over 80 samples exceeding one kilogram per ton silver distributed across a five-square-kilometer footprint.Led by President and CEO Peter Dembicki, a former Canaccord Genuity investment adviser, the company benefits from world-class technical expertise. Christian Rios, formerly with Bear Creek Mining and integral to the Santana Corani discovery, serves as Senior Vice President of Exploration, while Antonio Arribas, former global head of geosciences for BHP and Newmont, provides additional technical guidance. The property emerged from the 2021 spin-out of Auryn Resources and was consolidated through opportunistic acquisitions when base metal prices declined. Located in southern Peru's copper belt near the city of Tacna, the approximately 14,000-hectare property had never been systematically explored despite being surrounded by major global copper-silver producers.Following an initial 5,000-meter reconnaissance drilling program, the company engaged independent consultants who identified a key insight: higher-elevation areas within the property should preserve a more intact precious metals system due to less erosion over geological time. The current 1,200-meter drilling program is testing this thesis in the Cambaya corridor, where rock samples have returned eight kilograms per ton silver and four grams per ton gold.An unexpected discovery during initial drilling revealed indicators of a potential large porphyry copper system at depth, attracting attention from major mining companies seeking the next significant discovery in Peru's porphyry belt. After operating through five years of challenging silver prices ranging from $17-22 per ounce, the company raised approximately $6.5 million in late 2025 as silver strengthened above $70. Management estimates requiring another 10,000 meters of drilling before resource definition, with six kilometers of identified vein corridors providing multiple targets. The company's strategy focuses entirely on discovery and resource definition rather than development, positioning for an eventual strategic transaction.View Tier One Silver'c company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/tier-one-silverSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

Can we build a blueprint for how the right content can pressure institutions to evolve? In episode 170, I sat down with my buddy Ethan Nagel — veteran infantryman and lethal filmmaker who lives at the intersection of modern warfare and modern media. He breaks down exactly what he and the team at VET TV are building with BattleLab, a new live action show that drops two teams of elite operators into high pressure missions that push new military technology to its limits. This episode is a straight shot of reality: FPV attack drones are the new IEDs, and the next war is going to punish anyone clinging to comfort. Ethan explains how BattleLab fuses real-world lessons from Ukraine with hands-on experimentation — pitting elite, Tier One operators against emerging drone tactics to expose what works, what fails, and what gets people killed. He also gets brutally specific on storytelling and craft because BattleLab isn't “tactical content,” it's a serious training-adjacent series built by people who actually understand the battlefield and how audiences learn. Ethan walks through the production reality: why the first “sports broadcast” approach didn't hold attention, how they rebuilt the format around after-action breakdowns, and how he balances cinematic filmmaking with capturing honest, usable footage that infantry leaders can actually apply. Interview with Francis Macdonald, Director & CEO of Li-FT Power Ltd.Our previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/li-ft-power-tsxvlift-commits-7m-to-environmental-studies-for-50m-ton-lithium-project-7632Recording date: 6th February 2026Li-FT Power (TSXV:LIFT) has positioned itself at the forefront of North America's lithium sector through strategic consolidation, executing its acquisition of Winsome's Adina project as spodumene prices rebound from a 2.5-year downturn. CEO Francis MacDonald reports lithium prices have tripled from $600 per ton in July 2025 to nearly $2,000 per ton, signaling what the company believes is the early stage of an 18-24 month bull cycle. The Adina transaction addresses a critical development constraint that had artificially limited the project's potential. A claim boundary bisected the deposit, preventing Winsome from optimizing pit design across its 78 million ton resource estimate—only 35 million tons could be incorporated into preliminary mine plans. Li-FT Power had strategically acquired the southern claims before announcing the transaction, enabling complete consolidation that MacDonald expects will unlock 80-100+ million tons of resource, positioning Adina among North America's largest hard rock lithium deposits. The transaction was announced alongside $48 million in financing led by Avenir Minerals, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Agnico Eagle, at $4.30 per share—a price that subsequently doubled to over $9 as lithium sentiment strengthened. Combined with existing equity positions, the company now holds approximately $75 million to fund aggressive 2026-2027 technical programs across both its Adina and Yellowknife flagship projects.MacDonald emphasizes the importance of cyclical timing, noting that strategic acquisitions should occur during market downturns when valuations are depressed. "We saw prices starting to fall in January of 2023. And so, it was really a falling or a flat price environment for 2.5 years," he explains, adding that volatility becomes advantageous when positioned correctly within the cycle. The company plans 50,000 meters of drilling at Adina in 2026 to support a feasibility study targeted for 2027, while concurrent drilling at Yellowknife aims to expand its existing 50 million ton resource base. At the anticipated 80-100 million ton scale, MacDonald argues Adina could justify throughput rates of 4-5 million tons per year, significantly larger than typical 2 million ton per year lithium operations and improving project economics through economies of scale.View Li-FT Power's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/li-ft-power-ltdSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

Interview with Joseph Ovsenek, President & CEO of Tudor GoldOur previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/tudor-gold-tsxvtud-developer-eyes-300k-ozyear-production-8936Recording date: 23rd January 2026Tudor Gold Corp. has released an updated mineral resource estimate for its Goldstorm deposit at Treaty Creek in British Columbia's Golden Triangle, reporting 24.9 million ounces of gold equivalent in the indicated category with an additional 4 million ounces inferred. The 15% increase in indicated resources positions the project as a potential tier-one asset as the company accelerates development plans targeting production.President and CEO Joseph Ovsenek emphasized the company's focus on higher-grade mineralization to optimize economics. The resource update includes sensitivity analyses at different net smelter revenue cutoff values. At a $125 per ton NSR cutoff, the deposit contains 5.8 million indicated ounces plus 2.6 million inferred ounces. At the more selective $175 per ton NSR cutoff, resources total 3.4 million indicated ounces and 2.4 million inferred ounces. The grade profile at higher cutoffs becomes particularly attractive. At the $175 per ton NSR cutoff, indicated grade averages 2.33 grams per ton gold while inferred averages 4.02 grams per ton. Combined, this approaches three grams per ton gold equivalent without copper and silver credits. The 15% resource increase came primarily from enhanced modeling techniques employing 5-meter blocks at grade boundaries rather than new drilling. Tudor Gold is pursuing concurrent mine planning and metallurgical studies expected to complete this quarter, targeting a Preliminary Economic Assessment by Q3 2026. The development strategy focuses on underground mining using long-hole stoping methods at 8,000-10,000 tons per day supporting annual production around 300,000 ounces. The company has filed permits for underground ramp development to enable infill drilling and expects approval in 2026. A substantial exploration program budgeting 10,000-15,000 meters will target Perfectstorm, CBS, and Eureka zones with an objective of developing an additional 5 million ounce resource beyond Goldstorm. With gold prices approaching $5,000 per ounce, Tudor Gold reported receiving unsolicited financing approaches, providing capital optionality to advance development on its preferred timeline.View Tudor Gold's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/tudor-goldSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

EPISODE 593 - Richard Carson - The Book of Change, A Guide to manage organizational change in the workplaceRichard H. Carson's 40-year career includes being a practicing executive manager, organizational consultant, and research university academic. The latter was spent doing doctorate level research at a “Tier One” research university (Washington State University) in organizational psychology. For the first 30 years he worked as a senior executive manager and as a policy analyst, on economic and environmental issues, to three Oregon governors. He then spent the next 10 years as a change management consultant for a national management company. He worked helping both profit and non-profit organizations become more performance efficient and cost-effective.This experience resulted in his creating the PSOCM process model to achieve organizational change management. This also resulted in his founding the firm of Carson & Associates in 2018.The firm now provides services such as organizational change management, strategic planning, and executive coaching exclusively to individuals and organizations.Carson brings fresh new thinking to the process of organizational change management (OCM).Step-by-Step Guide to make Organizational Change Management The Book of Change is both a cutting-edge, meta-analysis model and a resource publication where the reader can learn about the change management process. You can learn about the history, terminology, institutions and current thinking regarding the topic. Much of the publication is built on the thinking of others who have been or are contributing to the field. The Book of Change is the first and only doctorate level, systematic meta-analysis of the seven decades of both the historical and the published organizational change management models. The book presents a comprehensive model that combines the best attributes of the various change management models that have been created in the last 75 years. One of the more unique and appealing aspects of the book is its readability, as in non-academic and non-metaphysical, in terms of explaining what needs to be done.https://www.bookofchange.com/Support the show___https://livingthenextchapter.com/podcast produced by: https://truemediasolutions.ca/Coffee Refills are always appreciated, refill Dave's cup here, and thanks!https://buymeacoffee.com/truemediaca
Interview with Luis Azevedo, Chairman & CEO of Bravo Mining Corp. Our previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/bravo-mining-tsxvbrvo-triple-growth-in-resources-accelerates-the-next-phases-for-luanga-project-6814Recording date: 9th September 2025Bravo Mining Company presents a compelling investment opportunity in the platinum group metals sector, combining tier-one asset quality with favorable market timing as global PGM fundamentals shift in favor of new producers. The company's flagship Luanga deposit in Brazil's Carajas region has emerged as one of the world's premier undeveloped PGM assets following dramatic resource expansion and robust preliminary economic assessment results. The investment thesis centers on exceptional asset quality, with Luanga's resource base expanding from 120 million tons grading 1.2 g/t to 236 million tons at 2.03 g/t over just two years. This positions the deposit among global tier-one PGM assets, capable of supporting 17 years of production at 500,000 ounces annually. The 8.1-kilometer strike length remains largely unexplored at depth, with over 40 drill holes indicating mineralization continuation beyond 400 meters, suggesting significant additional resource potential.Economic returns appear compelling across both development scenarios outlined in the preliminary assessment. The standard concentrate operation requires $495 million capital expenditure for $1.2 billion net present value, while the integrated approach adds $180 million investment to generate $1.8 billion NPV through direct metal production and sulfur byproduct sales. Production costs of approximately $700 per ounce against current $1,300 pricing provide substantial operational margins and flexibility.Brazil's mining-friendly jurisdiction delivers significant competitive advantages, particularly in the established Carajas region where Vale's infrastructure development provides immediate access to power, water, transportation, and skilled labor. This eliminates hundreds of millions in typical infrastructure capital expenditure while enabling an exceptional eight-month permitting timeline that contrasts favorably with increasing global regulatory challenges.Market timing appears optimal as PGM fundamentals improve following revised electric vehicle adoption forecasts. Chinese automakers, representing the world's largest car market, now project 50% conventional vehicles, 30% hybrids, and only 20% pure electric vehicles—a significant downward revision from earlier EV penetration expectations. This sustained conventional automotive demand occurs against constrained supply, with no major new PGM mines advancing through global development pipelines while South African producers face ongoing operational and regulatory challenges.Additional value creation opportunities exist through the company's IOCG exploration program, which has identified high-grade copper-gold potential including 6% copper and 1 gram per ton gold intersections at the T5 target. This creates potential spin-off possibilities while maintaining focus on core PGM development.Management's proven track record adds execution confidence, having previously built and sold a mine in the Carajas region for approximately $500 million. The team's regional experience, combined with disciplined capital allocation and strong balance sheet position, supports advancement through prefeasibility study completion by Q2 2026.The confluence of superior asset quality, compelling economics, infrastructure advantages, favorable jurisdiction, improving market fundamentals, and proven management creates a differentiated investment opportunity for investors seeking exposure to PGM market recovery while benefiting from Brazil's stable mining environment and established infrastructure base.View Bravo Mining's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/bravo-mining Sign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

Interview with Scott Sheldon, President & CEO of Go Metals Corp.Recording date: 14th July 2025Go Metals Corp (CSE:GOCO) has emerged as a compelling player in Canada's critical metals exploration sector, positioning itself strategically within the growing demand for copper, cobalt, and nickel. Led by CEO Scott Sheldon and geological partner Harley Slade, this Vancouver-based company has evolved from gold exploration to critical metals since its 2010 establishment, demonstrating adaptability and market awareness. The company's flagship Monster IOCG (Iron Oxide Copper Gold) project in Yukon's Dawson mining district represents its most significant opportunity. Located within a recognized IOCG geological setting, the project offers tier-one potential comparable to world-class deposits like Olympic Dam. Systematic geophysical surveys have identified massive gravity anomalies suggesting substantial mineralization at depth, while surface sampling has revealed encouraging grades with visible cobalt mineralization presenting as "nice pink erythrite blooms."Go Metals' lean two-person structure maximizes capital allocation to exploration activities, reflecting a cost-conscious approach that has yielded results. The company successfully vended its Wels gold project to K2 Gold in 2017, while its HSP project generated significant industry interest in 2023, sparking a million-kilometer staking rush in the surrounding area.Innovation drives the company's exploration strategy through a partnership with MineCompare AI, enhancing geological interpretation and target refinement. As Sheldon noted, "We found that using the AI, as you look at it more as a team member, so something that you can ask questions to and even debate it becomes pretty valuable."The company's diversified portfolio includes additional projects spanning natural hydrogen prospects and a large vanadium-titanium-magnetite discovery, providing multiple pathways to value creation. Operating within Canada's mining-friendly jurisdiction offers political stability and established infrastructure advantages during a period of rising commodity prices and increased focus on critical metals supply security. With copper prices strengthening and global supply chain concerns driving investment toward politically stable mining regions, Go Metals appears well-positioned to capitalize on favorable market conditions while advancing its high-potential exploration portfolio.View Go Metals' company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/go-metals-corpSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com
What does it take to build a recruiting firm that survives three recessions, operates across borders, and thrives without retainers? In this episode of The Resilient Recruiter, we spotlight David Fishman, founder of Sparrow Company—a bi-national executive search and staffing firm based in both the U.S. and Mexico. David shares how he rebuilt after nearly losing everything in 2009 and developed a resilient, multi-revenue business that consistently closes $30K+ deals on contingency. With a team of 12 and placements ranging from hourly plant workers to C-suite executives, David proves that long-term success in recruiting isn't about flashy tech or a narrow niche—it's about grit, loyalty, smart diversification, and building client trust. Whether you're a firm owner, solo operator, or team leader, this episode will inspire you to think bigger, act faster, and future-proof your business model. Episode Highlights: [2:30] Why David's recruiting journey started with a family staffing business and a Coast Guard exit [7:00] How the 2009 recession nearly wiped him out—and what it took to survive [16:00] Expanding into Mexico: a single client request that changed everything [24:00] Building a binational team and training his kids to become recruiters [36:00] Why he's not retained (yet), and how he consistently closes $30K+ fees on contingency [47:00] How Sparrow places both plant supervisors and presidents using the same recruiting mechanics [1:06:00] David's multiple revenue streams: recruiting projects, temp staffing, nearshore talent [1:13:00] Why impulsivity is his superpower and what legacy he wants to leave behind Why Diversification is Non-Negotiable After nearly losing his business during the 2009 downturn, David made a key decision: stop relying on one industry or one type of placement. Today, Sparrow Company operates across manufacturing, engineering, mining, supply chain, and IT—placing roles at all levels across North America and Europe. Key takeaway for recruiters: Think beyond niche. Build a multi-layered model across industry, function, level, and geography. 3 Revenue Streams Every Recruiting Firm Owner Should Know To protect against market shifts and add recurring income, David built three revenue lines: Embedded recruiters on short-term contracts Temporary staffing through a dedicated local firm Contract engineers working remotely from Mexico for U.S. clients These offerings helped him scale sustainably, stabilize cash flow, and serve clients more deeply. “Every time we add a new service, it helps us survive another economic cycle.” How to Close $30K+ Deals Without Retainers David works 100% on contingency—but trains his clients to expect fewer resumes and faster, more precise matches. His firm is known for first-candidate hires and high-level execution without the upfront fees. “I'm not retained, but I'm still beating the firms that are. Because I'm hungrier.” About David Fishman David Fishman is the founder of Sparrow Company, a bi-national staffing and executive search firm incorporated in the United States and Mexico. With 30+ years in recruiting, he's placed CEO, CFO, VP, Director, Plant Manager, and Engineering roles across global manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and Tier-One automotive clients. Sparrow's clients include publicly traded multinationals, private equity-backed firms, and international companies operating across the U.S., Mexico, Switzerland, and Germany. David is a member of the Pinnacle Society, recognized by the California Staffing Professionals Association as Staffing Professional of the Year, and frequently speaks on recruiting best practices and production hiring. In 2022, he launched a traditional temporary staffing firm serving the El Paso, TX and Las Cruces, NM region.
