With the conclusion of their season early in the Wild Card round with a loss to the Detroit Tigers, the Astros rolled into the offseason a bit earlier than most are use to. Falling short this season the Astros still have been the only team in the American League that has made a total of eight consecutive postseasons with a total of seven consecutive ALCS appearances. In 2008, Renu Khator became the first female chancellor in the state of Texas and the first Indian immigrant to lead a comprehensive research university in the U.S. Under Renu's leadership, the University of Houston earned Tier One status for research from the Carnegie Foundation, and opened Houston's first medical school in more than 50 years. It's more than tripled the number of National Academy members on the faculty, and dramatically improved graduation rates. Dr. Khator has been named to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and has served on numerous boards, including the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, the NCAA, the American Council on Education, and the Association of American Colleges and Universities. I welcomed back my friends, Maj and Jan, to discuss their latest venture, MS MicroCap Cliffnotes and their Tier One Quality MicroCap Index. As some of you may know, we run an index as well called the Planet MicroCap Index that we use for educational purposes only to better understand how the general MicroCap market is performing with specific rules that allow for smaller, relatively illiquid names, growthy/pre-revenue/unprofitable names to be included. Maj and Jan launched an index, where, as it states on the MS Cliffnotes website, "the qualification of a stock to be added to the index is determined by quality, valuation, price momentum indicators, multi-bagger potential, qualitative analysis and market cap," and, "the rebalancing of the MSM index occurs on an active basis, not just quarterly or monthly." I think indices like this are necessary because you could take one look at our index at Planet MicroCap, and you'd be correct to think, that the MicroCap space has been in the doldrums for 2+ years. However, when you look at an index that assesses more qualitative factors, you'll see that the Tier One Quality index, for example, has a current return of 27.60% and average peak return of 76.84%. I wanted to better understand Maj and Jan's criteria for inclusion, as well as what differentiates their index from it being a "model portfolio." The Everyday Sniper Podcast: Big Jim Fish: $2k Optics Talk  Big Jim Fischer is back on the Everyday Sniper Podcast to talking the Mid Range $2k Optics he has reviewed. Spiritual Warfare Jeffrey Wilson pt 2 There is a forgotten group of heroes that, basically, fly under the radar while suffering silently with things they have seen, things they have experienced and things that were expected of them and things that were done by them. But then, unable to talk about with anyone. Not even their family. I'm talking about military veterans, mainly combat vets, special operations vets, etc. Many of the things they participated in were – and still are – classified. They cannot just go around telling anyone things they have witnessed or participated in. This adds to their problems with re-integrating in society. Even after all these years, there are many, many veterans out there suffering. Even from back in the Vietnam war era. Our guest today participated in some of these operations, with special ops forces and he has witnessed, first hand, some of the problems faced by our veteran heroes today. Jeffrey Wilson has worked as an actor, firefighter, paramedic, jet pilot, and diving instructor, as well as a vascular and trauma surgeon. He served in the US Navy for fourteen years and made multiple deployments as a combat surgeon with an East Coast–based SEAL Team. The author of three award-winning supernatural thrillers, The Traiteur's Ring, The Donors, and Fade to Black, and the acclaimed faith-based thriller War Torn. He has partnered with another Navy veteran, Brian Andrews, who served on a fast-attack submarine and is the author of three critically acclaimed high-tech thrillers: Reset, The Infiltration Game and The Calypso.  They have partnered together to write a best-selling book series, “Tier One.”  This book series is so successful, it is being developed for film and television as well. Amen! Today is part two or our interview and we will be concluding our discussion with Jeffrey Wilson. As Christians, we are called upon to “be ready to an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that we have.” (1 Peter 3:15).  What should a Christian have ready in their “go bag” for times like that, when we may be called upon to “go” without notice? Special Ops will go through rigorous practice sessions in preparation for a mission. What preparations can believers take to always be ready to defend our position on Faith? You reference the story of David and Goliath in this situation. David went to see his brothers and take them some cheese and snacks. He had no idea he would make history that day.  What are your thoughts on that? In the military, things are not always as they appear. You may be on patrol and something seems, “just not right.” For example, you may be entering a town or village and it seems peaceful enough. Then, you notice, it's “too peaceful.” There is nobody in the street. No kids, etc. Or, you may see some kids at the far end of the street watching you, and they have their ears covered.  On patrol, those are all ques you need to pick up and be aware of – immediately. As a believer, we also have to have a sense of what is happening around us that our physical eyes cannot see. Can you share with us some examples of situations you may have experienced and relate that to how believers should respond to invisible spiritual forces that may try to ambush them? In war, there are times when noncombatants are affected by the battles we face. It's unfortunate, but it is a reality of war. We try to minimize those incidents, but there will be times when it is going to occur. It is called “collateral damage.”  Can you give some examples when we may be faced with “collateral damage” in the spiritual battles we may have to fight?
