Big news, folks! Hornady just officially launched the .25 Creedmoor cartridge. And there's a good chance that the Quarter-Bore Creedmoor is the best Creedmoor of them all. This episode takes a deep dive into the tech specs of the .25 Creedmoor and how the cartridge was designed, and details new factory loads on the market. We discuss what long-range bullets are best in it, and what rifles makers are already spun up and making .25 Creedmoor guns. We compare the .25 Creedmoor to the 6.5 Creedmoor, discuss what attributes may make the .25 Creedmoor superior, and draw ballistic comparisons between the .25 and the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridges. Then, to contrast what the .25 Creedmoor is really capable of, we compare it to the .25-06. The ballistic differences may shock you—and to our surprise profoundly favor one over the other. You'll have to listen to find out which. ENJOY! FRIENDS! On this episode of Wild & Uncut, we sit down with the President & Founder of National Rifle League Hunter Series, Travis Ishida. Being a first generation hunter, it is easy to hear the passion he has for the sport. Being a proficient marksman and understanding what it takes to be successful in his pursuit to provide meat for his family, Travis started NRL Hunter in hopes of other hunters/shooters wanting to take their skills to the next level. Whether you're a first time competitor or it's your hundredth match, the NRL Hunter uses the excitement and stress of competition to create realistic shooting scenarios that will test the marksman and their knowledge of their equipment. The goal of "education through competition" is to help make you the most effective version of yourself; the NRL will surely do just that! NRL's mission statement: Hunting isn't merely a hobby or pastime, it is our way of life. For us, it is about community, education, and a strong foundation of ethical harvesting. It is the desire to be the most proficient hunter possible, it is this passion that has driven us to develop the NRL HUNTER series of matches. Travis is a great person and always a joy to talk with...we even took a little time to talk about the most delicious part of the hunt...the wonderful meat we harvest and bring home to enjoy all year long. Lots of great discussion, you'll enjoy it! The Wild & Uncut Podcast is brought to you by Ruger, Marlin, Safari Club International, and OnX Hunt. I traveled up to Alabama to RO the Carbon Hill Hunter Classic put on by Mike Lilly this past weekend and it was a blast. Normally the range at Alabama Precision (AP) is host to Precision Rifle Series matches, to my knowledge this is the first time AP has hosted a NRL Hunter event. Even though this was the first event Hunter event at AP Mike and his family, Kili & Cameron, put together an awesome experience for the hunters that attended. For those wondering, we did use the same range and some props from the field as we do at PRS matches but it didn't feel like the normal match. For the NRL Hunter series you carry all the gear you wish to use on your back, no carts or driving around in the truck. You have 4 minutes ( 6 as a team) to find, range, and engage your targets. There are no reshoots, no pre-stage glassing, and no sharing info with buddies. This is a match of just you and your equipment. Stay tuned as I talk with some on the competitors from the match. Will shooting an NRL Hunter match help you become a more effective hunter? Or are these matches all about competition that doesn't replicate hunting? We answer these questions, and many more, with the founder of the NRL Hunter series, Travis Ishida. Travis explains what it is like to attend and participate in an NRL Hunter match, discusses the rules for the competition, and also explains that you don't have to follow all of the regulations if you don't want to shoot competitively at an NRL Hunter match. Whether you want to compete in NRL Hunter, or are interested in using a match as non-competitive practice to learn about yourself as a shooter and hunter, you will hear how participating in an NRL Hunter event can benefit you. https://nrlhunter.org/ https://www.instagram.com/nrlhunter/ https://www.youtube.com/@NationalRifleLeague Contact Us: podcast@exomtngear.com Leave A Message: https://speakpipe.com/huntbackcountry Podcast Episode Archive: https://exomtngear.com/podcast

Francis and Chad connect on NRL Hunter and PRS. Both styles of competition are engaging and fun but they also have different learning curves. The hosts discuss what separates these to similar precision rifle disciplines and walk through their perspective on transferring skills between the two sports. Which is best for newer shooters? Which has more practical skill set? Are these two styles mutually exclusive? It's a great episode to put a different perspective the differences and similarities between the two genres and how each will help you in the future.

Brady and I talk about our struggles on day one and what we think makes these matches hard. NRL Hunter matches offer a completely different set of challenges that are super fun to handle when you are used to shooting standard PRS matches, but they can be discouraging if you not familiar with their format. We chat about that and how things went. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mythologyofmarksmanship/support
********************************************************************* PRESENTED BY: Ruger: http://ruger.com/ Nightforce Optics: http://nightforceoptics.com/ Dead Down Wind, Trophy Taker Rests, Ramcat Broadheads, Rack One & Tink's: https://www.arcushunting.com/ Safari Club International: https://safariclub.org/ Bear Archery: https://beararchery.com/ Trophy Ridge: https://trophyridge.com/category/sights onX maps: https://www.onxmaps.com/ Kifaru International: http://kifaru.net/ Kryptek: https://kryptek.com/ Rocky Mountain Hunting Calls: https://buglingbull.com/ Tetra Hearing: https://tetrahearing.com/ Wilderness Athlete: https://wildernessathlete.com/ CONTACT KRISTY Website: http://www.pursuethewild.com Pursue The Wild Store: https://pursue-the-wild.myshopify.com/ Social Media Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/KristyTitus/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kristytitus/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/KristyTitus Subscribe to Pursue The Wild with Kristy Titus https://www.youtube.com/user/PursuetheWild

Ever hunted in negative 25 degree (C) temps, on 11-foot cross-country skis? Rob Gearing, founder of Spartan Precision Equipment has, and in this episode he shares his most recent adventures. Frostbitten fingertips were the least of the damage; Rob actually experienced frostbite in his shooting eye. Several times he had to personally re-insert a troublesome hernia that popped out while straining to recover and get back upright after a crash in deep, deep powder snow. Yes, Rob's an animal and thrives on type-2 fun. In this episode, Rob shares survival tips, cold-weather hunting methods, advice for staying mentally focused and having fun even against astronomical odds, and more. Before closing, we discuss Spartan's new partnership with Primos, and Spartan's new line of precision-shooting products ideal for NRL Hunter competition and front-country hunting, which live under the new Spartan Defense branch of the company. One other cool thing about this episode: I'm tremendously excited to introduce—in partnership with John Zombro, aka "The Lifetime Athlete" —a brand-new segment titled Backcountry Fitness & Nutrition.
