In this episode we have a REAL conversation about motherhood and business. While I DO believe that it is important to show how beautiful it can be as a mom and business owner, I also know how important it is to share the hard stuff too. Some days you feel like your kids the are the “reason” you aren't as far in your business as you'd like to be. Which SUCKS to even admit. Because you chose this life for a reason, being a mom is your favorite thing ever and you love them so stinking much. So you feel SUPER guilty for feeling that way or on the days when you're just “handling them” all day so that you can get work done. You love them so much and you know it's not really their fault, but the constant interruptions, needing your attention 24/7, the long list of to dos like cooking meals, getting snacks, grocery shopping, changing diapers, potty training, nap time… You can never just sit down and really WORK without doing a million other things, and that feels hard. As a mom who has built two businesses with young kids at home, I get it. Our kids do need most of our attention and it can make it hard to get work done some days. In today's episode I interview Rebecca Schor! You started your business online to make an impact, to help people change their lives and probably to bring in some income so you can be home with your kids. One of the most common struggles I work with my clients on is being productive with their kids around. Whether it is a stay at home mama struggling to balance the two worlds and shift into “work mode” both for herself and for her kids to understand this new shift. In this episode we talk about one of the BEST things you can do as a mom and business owner: Learn how to be work on your business and be productive WITH your kids around you. Whether your goal is to be home full time with your kids or not, this is a skillset you will need as a mom - especially if you have young kiddos. Because even if you plan to work in the morning when the kids are sleeping, at nap time, or when the kids are at school - mom life is unpredictable. Your kids could be in daycare or school, then get back to back sicknesses for two weeks. It's a random holiday or teacher day and schools are closed. Your baby is teething and refuses to nap. Your kids can sense that you're awake early and they get up too. If you aren't able to get work done with kids around, then whether you show up in your business or not is dependent upon your schedule going perfectly - which is just not realistic. You can't stop serving your clients when the kids are home sick You can't just stop showing up on social media every time your baby is clingy You can't just work on your business “when you can” and hit your goals Learning to stay on track and get work done with kids is a crucial skill set, and that's exactly what you're going to learn in this episode.
