Born in Torrejon, Spain to parents involved in serving their country, the desire to serve has continued through her education and current career journey. She is an activist, scholar and author. Her debut non-fiction book To Be A Problem: A Black Woman's Survival in the Racist Disability Rights Movement published by Beacon Press was released in July 2024. She is an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University, Co-Director of the Policy Innovation Lab (PIL) and a strategist, writer, instructor, project manager, connector, changemaker and policy wonk.Currently Ms. Baldwin is President of DMadrina, LLC. a consultant firm working with organizations around the world to incorporate Intersectional policy agendas with an emphasis on disability justice. She is also an adjunct professor at McCourt School of Public Policy and McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University teaching disability justice, equity and policy as well as Introduction to Advocacy and policy. She has held senior level positions in federal policy at multiple organizations. She was the Director of National Policy for the Center for Disability Rights, Inc. (CDR) and Senior Policy Analyst at National Disability Rights Network (NDRN). She works within the Disability Justice movement and with an intentional strategy to end racism and systems of oppression.As a consultant Ms. Baldwin does legislative work, from research and writing comments, testimonies, letters, speeches and reports to assisting with advocacy outreach and working with Congressional staff, the Administration, coalition partners and others on multiple issue areas for improving the lives of all but a serious concentration on BIPOC with disabilities. Centering this community in the work of social justice will dismantle the barriers of subjugation and oppression of all. She has extensive knowledge of disability and civil rights laws. She has a keen ability for networking and outreach to “in the streets” national and international activists. She also conducts seminars and facilitates conversations and trainings on multiple issues of equity.She is a fellow in the Women Transcending Collective Leadership at Center for Justice at the School of Social Work at Columbia University (Cohort 6 2024-2025). She is an Ambassador for Health Equity Fellow and a member of several advisory committees working on ending criminalization in this country. She advises Urban Institute Prison Research and Innovative Initiative (PRII) and The Justice Lab of Columbia's Square One Project. She serves on the Board of Directors for SPAN Parent Advocacy Network and Laura Flanders and Friends She recently completed three terms (9yrs) on the National Low Income Housing Coalition Board of Directors.She has led multiple national and international advocacy campaigns. In December 2022 she spoke on the lack of inclusion of disability issues and accessibility, at the United Nations first meeting of the Permanent Forum of People of African Descent. Ms. Baldwin has been working with Congress to pass federal laws since 2004; and worked on over 25 federal bills that have gone to five different President's desk - Clinton to Biden - even bills passed and signed by #45. L. Dara Baldwin has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Rutgers University, Newark, NJ and was a Pi Alpha Alpha honors Graduate with a Masters of Public Administration from Rutgers University the School of Public Affairs and Administration, Newark, NJ. Anna fears her lack of movement is going to hurt her in the long run. After her surgery a few years ago- she almost completely stopped working out. Her Oura ring tells her to move more than she thought it would. Studies show moving your body ages your brain slower- who would've thought! Oscars are around the corner, and an animated movie is doing numbers this year, Anna, Raven, Producer Justin and Producer Sophia all discuss their favorite animated movies! Anna identifies herself very closely with the LA Rams. After hearing their remedies stay warm in single degree kickoffs, Anna's interest was sparked by one specifically. She had to give it a shot herself!   Trending today is the drama revolving around the Beckham family and awkward mom and son dances (at a wedding).  Anna wishes lounge wear was more normalized in the workplace.  Producer Justin and Producer Sophia share what they wish they could do every day if it was acceptable. The moment you have all been waiting for. From the moment she was born to now. It is time for the FATE OF DOUGH-PHELIA taste test. Producer Sophia, Producer Justin and Raven all get to try this sourdough bread we've been watching grow.  Anna and Raven give their two cents on a compliment. Can you give a bad compliment? Anna gave a compliment her daughter keeps making fun of her for and now she's wondering...was it a bad compliment?  Couples Court: Jim collects things that are odd and unusual including an extensive collection of clown masks. He has over 50 of them that he displays on the walls of his office. Tamara hates them. She thinks they're freaky, she thinks when he takes video work calls from his office, he looks nuts, and now that she's pregnant with their first baby, she wants them gone. He wants to keep the bobble heads, fine, the over 150 bottles of hot sauce, she can live with that, but she HATES walking by that office that's right next to her bedroom. He says just close the door and ignore it. She doesn't have to wear them; she just has to pretend they're not there. Austin has a chance to win $300! All he has to do is answer more pop culture questions than Raven in Can't Beat Raven!

I taped an all new episode before heading off to Italy, and I am excited to let you know all the things I loved in the month of May!  Of course I have the standard beauty and food, but I do get a bit into my newest couple obsession.  Timmy and Kylie are the absolute cutest and make me truly love, love, again.  

It's giving healing and having fun. In today's episode, we're catching up like girlfriends on FaceTime over matcha on everything that's been saving me this spring—new hobbies (hello tennis era), current favorites, fashion trends, recipes, and little life upgrades that have been helping me feel more like me again. I'm also getting real about moving through a breakup, why it's okay to still grieve your past while building a better future, and how embracing girlhood joy has been my biggest act of self-love lately.
