Do you ever feel like you're putting so much effort into your marketing, but your messaging just isn't connecting with your ideal clients? You're continuing to show up. Posting daily. Creating great offers. Doing all of the “right” things. But instead of attracting your ideal clients (the ones who value your work and ready to invest)... you're hearing crickets. In this episode of the HerBusiness Podcast, we're breaking down exactly why your message isn't landing and how to start speaking in your dream client's language so you can consistently attract aligned clients without shouting louder or burning out. Here's What You'll Learn in this Episode: Why trying to appeal to everyone dilutes your message and leaves you resonating with no one. How niching down helps you attract clients who are ready to work with you (and pay you what you're worth). The fears that hold business owners back from narrowing their focus… and how to overcome them. How to reflect on your ideal client's own words back to them so your message lands instantly (and have them say, “That's exactly what I was thinking!” The power of painting the before and after in your marketing so clients see themselves immediately in your offers. Why focusing on vanity metrics (followers, likes, list size) keeps you stuck, and what to focus on instead. Two case studies of members inside the HerBusiness Network who completely transformed their businesses after getting crystal clear on their ideal client and refining their messaging. If you have ever asked yourself… “Why don't my dream client see the value of what I offer?”“Do I just need more followers or more reach before getting my ideal clients?”“What if I niche down but pick the WRONG audience??” …Then this episode will help you finally get clarity and start creating messaging that connects. In Episode 165 of the Best Coach Ever podcast, we're calling out one of the most common (and costly) mistakes online coaches make: vague, fluffy messaging that sounds nice but sells nothing. If you've ever caught yourself saying things like “I help you be your best self” or “find balance” and wondered why clients aren't biting, this one's for you. We're breaking down why lazy language makes your content invisible, how unclear messaging kills your marketing, and the simple shifts that make your ideal clients stop scrolling and start paying attention. You'll learn how to swap generic statements for specific, tangible outcomes that instantly click with your audience, the kind of messaging that feels like you're reading their mind. From real-life client examples to the exact exercises that help you get to the heart of what your people really want, this episode is your wake-up call to ditch the pretty-but-empty words and start using language that sells. In this episode, we cover:1) Messy Action & The Big Mistake Coaches Keep Making [0:00 - 2:18]-Why perfectionism keeps you stuck and how “done” beats “perfect.”-The marketing blind spot most coaches don't realize is costing them sales.2) What Lazy Messaging Looks Like (and Why It Fails) [2:19 - 5:03]-Examples of vague, feel-good phrases that mean nothing to your audience.-How unclear statements make your content easy to ignore.3) Why Specificity is the Secret Sauce [5:04 - 7:42]-The brain's “ignore by default” setting and how to break through it.-Real examples of turning generic promises into concrete, compelling outcomes.4) A Personal Story: Messaging That Made Me Hire on the Spot [7:43 - 10:21]-How a fitness coach's ultra-specific language hit home and sealed the deal.-The power of calling out your audience's exact lived experience.5) How to Get Clear on What You Really Offer [10:22 - 12:48]-Questions to uncover your client's true wants and values.-How to tie your offer to their biggest, most personal motivators.6) Practical Exercises to Fix Your Messaging [12:49 - 14:20]-The “magic wand” question to get tangible results your clients crave.-Creating a one-sentence pitch that even a stranger instantly understands.7) Final Takeaway [14:21 - End]-Why vague language costs you sales and how clarity changes everything.-Your next step to replace fluff with powerful, results-driven messaging.Connect with Lynette:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lynettemarieh Fitness Coaching Business Accelerator: https://fcbaprogram.comThe Wellness CEO Mastermind: https://wcmprogram.com
Have you ever wondered why, even when your coaching program or service feels like the perfect fit on paper, your ideal clients still aren't buying? Maybe you've heard the usual reasons: “I can't afford it right now,” or “It's not the right time.” But in reality, those surface-level excuses are rarely the true reason behind the hesitation. What's really happening? That gut feeling your potential clients experience - the intuitive “yes” or “no” - has little to do with your pricing, your inclusions, or even how well-crafted your marketing message is. Instead, it's often something much deeper that even they can't fully articulate. And unless you know how to uncover and address it, you'll keep bumping into those same frustrating objections. In this episode of She's The Business Podcast, I'm diving into the hidden reasons why female entrepreneurs, online coaches, and consultants struggle to convert ideal clients into paying clients - even when the offer itself is amazing. Fresh from a business retreat surrounded by established online coaches from around the world, I couldn't help but notice the complete polarity in the levels of success felt this year: some businesses are booming with sales while others are barely scraping by. "Why is this so?" I asked myself. Looking for patterns and clues, I noticed that there are 4 hidden influences harming sales conversions, even in those who have experienced great success in the past. It isn't the economy, the algorithm, or even the size of their audience. It comes down to something much more human - and invisible - unless you know what to look for! Here's a glimpse of what you'll learn in this episode: The silent deal-breaker: Why a mismatch between your audience and your offer makes sales almost impossible - even if the offer is fantastic. The trust gap: What's really missing if your ideal client doesn't trust themselves enough to invest in your program. Authenticity in marketing: How showing up in a way that isn't fully aligned with you can unintentionally repel the exact people you want to attract (especially important now in the age of AI content). The energy of your offer: How your own doubts or lack of excitement about your program quietly send signals that stop clients from saying yes. If you've been wondering why your marketing feels solid but sales aren't flowing, this conversation will open your eyes to what's really happening behind the scenes.

Did you like this episode? Dislike it? ✨ Most lawyers spend years chasing the wrong clients — but what if one simple exercise could show you exactly who you should be working with? In this episode, Mike and Danny share a quick, repeatable method for identifying your dream clients and turning that insight into a focused growth strategy for your firm.
Back in 2011, I made a list called “My Future Wife.” A bullet-point breakdown of everything I wanted in…you guessed it…my future wife. The whole dream package. But after reading through it, I had a sinking realization: I wasn't the type of guy who would be attractive to that type of woman. So I spent the next few years becoming that man. That list changed my life, and eventually led me to my actual wife who IS the perfect-fit person for me. I came across that document recently and it made me realize: Most freelancers never do the same exercise with their business. They dream about high-paying, low-drama, “perfect-fit” clients… But never ask the hard question: Am I the kind of freelancer my dream client is looking for? In this week's episode of the podcast, I share the 4 traits that make you magnetic to your dream clients (the things many freelancers completely overlook). It's not just about being good at what you do. It's about being the kind of person your dream client is drawn to. Let's make you irresistible (in business, anyway). Marketing doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes, all it takes is one intentional sprint to boost your visibility, reignite momentum, and get in front of the people you actually want to work with. In this episode, we're breaking down what a marketing sprint really is, how to use it when things feel slow or stagnant, and the specific mindset that makes this strategy work without burning out or spiraling into algorithm anxiety. If you've ever felt like you're posting just to post or crossing your fingers that the right clients magically find you, this is your reminder that visibility is something you can create. You don't have to wait for permission. You don't have to have it all figured out. You just have to start.Because momentum builds when you do. And the fastest way to get in front of new clients, build brand awareness, and spark real conversations isn't through guesswork—it's through consistency, clarity, and a focused plan that actually meets your business where it is now.Ready to see what's possible when you stop winging it and start showing up with intention?Let's sprint.

Hey, hey, hey y'all! We're back with Part 3 of our “Booked by Accident vs. Booked by Design” series—and today we're tackling something that stings a little... but only for a second. You know that feeling when someone tells you there's food in your teeth? Yeah. It's kind of like that. Awkward for a moment, but ultimately a gift. Because once you know, you can fix it. Same goes for today's topic: Why your dream clients don't know you exist… yet (and yes, that “yet” is doing some heavy lifting). Here's what we get into: The real reason the best designers are still getting overlooked Why pretty portfolios just aren't cutting it anymore The shift in how clients are hiring (and what they're quietly looking for before they ever reach out) Why visibility isn't about vanity—it's about service And the three questions I'm asking my own team as we clean up our visibility strategy I'm sharing a story about a baker (names changed to protect the innocent) who thought she didn't need visibility… until she did. HARD. And if you're silently hoping referrals will just keep rolling in? This is your heads-up that now is the time to start planting seeds. I'm also giving you a sneak peek into my free upcoming workshop, Booked by Design, happening August 4th! It's three days of helping you nail your message, get seen, and go from crickets to clients—without turning into a full-time content creator. So whether you're just starting out or you've been doing this for years and feel like your ideal clients are walking right past you, this episode is your gentle nudge (okay, maybe more like a sassy push

Most people think the best clients come from vetted business networks. But in today's case study, you'll hear how this founder quietly generated $40,000 in additional annual revenue from casual conversations inside non-business spaces. Flo Esho, CEO of virtual executive assistant agency The Easy Flow Life, landed one high-ticket retainer client at a dinner with a local mommy group, and another through a single Facebook comment in a 28,000-member lifestyle group. The secret? Intentional presence inside interest-based digital communities, not to pitch — but to meaningfully participate as a relatable, holistic person. These two client wins were just the beginning. Flo's subtle engagement style in these overlooked spaces now fuels an ongoing stream of discovery calls and warm referrals, giving her organic visibility and dream clients she connects with on a deeper level. If you're tired of traditional networking, this episode is an exercise in creative relationship building that will challenge you to show up outside the normal business box. So your books are looking a little empty, and you're wondering… “How the hell do I get more clients without resorting to cringey sales tactics or paid ads I can't afford?”This episode is the business masterclass you didn't know you needed.I'm lifting the curtain on the exact strategy I used to go from a totally empty consult room (literally no clients booked), to packing out events with 100+ people, and booking 40 new dream clients the very next day.
In this powerful episode recorded from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, I shared an in-depth strategy for transforming your marketing approach by mastering the art of messaging. Drawing from personal experiences in the online fitness industry and entrepreneurial coaching, he reveals how precise communication can help businesses attract high-quality leads and ideal clients. Are you feeling stuck in a business that doesn't quite feel like you? You're bringing in clients, the work is flowing, yet deep down, something's off. That was exactly where I found myself; not just once, but in the early days of my business.I left my corporate career in advertising, only to find myself right back in the same cycle: overworking, over-delivering, and still feeling undervalued. One night, sitting on my kitchen floor in tears, I realized the hard truth… I had built a business that didn't align with my true expertise.Because I was afraid to own my brilliance.I kept my messaging vague, playing small and trying to appeal to everyone, when in reality, I was attracting the wrong clients and feeling drained. That moment led to the creation of what I now call the Business Manifesto Method. I asked myself one powerful question:What am I NO LONGER available for in my business? Here's what made my list:Energy-draining clients who don't truly value my workOver-delivering out of fear instead of aligned generosityPlaying small to be more “palatable”Watering down my expertise instead of boldly owning itAnd the shift was instant. When I rewrote my messaging and positioned myself as the expert I already was, the most aligned, high-value clients started showing up.The truth is that your messaging dictates the clients you attract. It's time to write your own Business Manifesto. What are YOU no longer available for in your business?Enjoy the listen!P.S. The Winding Path from Developer to Agency Owner Although Jon initially trained as a developer, he quickly realized this wasn't his calling and transitioned to Help Desk operations and consulting roles. His career path later led him to join a company in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) space. As he learned and grew in this space, the company faced a new hurdle when a key product partner was acquired by Oracle, disrupting their established processes. This challenge ultimately became an opportunity, prompting Jon to develop integrations for the Microsoft ERP ecosystem. Through his subsequent roles at various companies, Jon began taking on marketing responsibilities fifteen years ago. During this period, he started exploring social media strategies and eventually established his first agency focused on this emerging field. It wasn't until much later, during the Covid pandemic, that Jon partnered with his current collaborator to launch an agency specifically targeting the ERP CRM space, with the explicit goal of business expansion. A Mindset Shift: When Clients Take Marketing In-House Throughout the years, Jon has gone through the various stages of growth that most agencies experience and he has come to know the cyclical nature of success and setbacks. He recalls the initial excitement of acquiring clients and generating revenue, which inevitably leads to a desire for scaling the business. However, this journey is rarely linear. There are periods of growth followed by slowdowns. An ebb and flow is a natural part of any entrepreneurial journey. One of Jon's first significant learning experiences came when a client who had developed a strong relationship with his agency suddenly decided to bring operations in-house. This common occurrence dramatically alters the client-agency dynamic. When a company hires a new marketing director, for instance, that person often brings existing relationships with other agencies and may show little interest in maintaining the current agency partnership. After experiencing this scenario multiple times, Jon has reframed his perspective in a more constructive way. He now views a client's decision to internalize services as evidence that his agency has successfully elevated their business to a point where they can sustain these functions internally. Rather than taking these transitions personally, Jon sees them as achievements worth celebrating—tangible proof that his agency has delivered substantial value and helped clients reach important growth milestones. Getting Off the ‘Agency Hamster Wheel' Thinking back to the setbacks in his agency journey, Jon can identify his business was not only too reliant on referrals, he also sees it took him too long to let go some parts of the business that could have been managed by others while he focused on growth. At the end of the day, an owner that works in the weeds five days a week is not doing enough to create new opportunities for growth. This is what Jason calls the ‘agency hamster wheel', where owners find themselves trapped in a relentless cycle of acquiring clients, delivering services, and then scrambling to market and sell again. The only way agency owners get out of this cycle is by clearly defining their roles as the CEO and start to delegate. For Jon, this meant understanding that he just could not be in the weeds. A CEO should focus on the vision, strategy, and growth, rather than day-to-day operations. This requires a shift in mindset, where agency leaders must learn to trust their teams and empower them to take on responsibilities. By stepping back, Jon was able to create space for innovation and strategic thinking, ultimately positioning his agency for long-term success. Assembling Your Agency Dream Team For leaders to cultivate and empower their teams, they need to set a clear vision and communicate it consistently. This vision should not be confined to annual retreats or periodic meetings; instead, it should be a living, breathing part of the agency's culture. Furthermore, leaders should actively seek to coach and mentor their team leaders; by doing this, they'll not only foster an environment where individuals can grow into their roles and take ownership of their responsibilities but also alleviate the burden on themselves. Jon also points out the need to accept that the people you started the agency with may not be with you for the entire run. This is not necessarily negative and a natural part of the agency's evolution. As his business found its niche, not every one of his content creators felt comfortable with the new direction. Jon now sees he held onto these individuals for too long and that the best approach was having an honest conversation. In his case, this led to both parties agreeing to part ways. Try to view team composition through the lens of building a "dream team." Just as the NBA assembled its legendary "Dream Team" for the Olympics, agency leaders should focus on assembling a group that aligns with the current vision and goals of the organization. By doing this, you won't have issues seeing when a hire just isn't the right fit. Saying No to Grow: Strategic Client Selection for Agency Success As Jon grows his agency, managing operational expenses has also emerged as a significant challenge. The accumulation of various tools and services required to maintain efficient operations can become financially burdensome. In these situations, agency owners should critically evaluate their pricing structure and consider whether increases are warranted. While conducting quarterly assessments of essential versus non-essential services is of course important, many agencies operate on dangerously thin margins. This issue can often be resolved by properly evaluating the value delivered to clients and adjusting prices accordingly. A common answer to this suggestion is “what if my clients don't want to pay that amount?” To which Jason counters, maybe they're not the right clients. Reassessing your client relationships is a necessary step in your agency's growth. You may lose half your clients once you announce the price raise, but you'll still be creating more space for clients willing to pay the right price for the value your agency brings. Furthermore, Jon has learned that it's not just about raising prices and watching the wrong client walk away. It's also about saying no to the wrong clients. Early in his career, Jon might have hesitated to walk away from unprofitable clients. However, as he gained experience, he recognized that letting go of clients who do not contribute positively to the business can create space for more aligned opportunities. Being selective about clients signals a more mature stage of business development. Rather than viewing client selectivity as a luxury afforded only to established agencies, Jon encourages owners to adopt this mindset early in their growth journey. In his assessment, implementing selective practices sooner rather than later will ultimately prove more beneficial for long-term business success.
