1Jn 3:9(9) Everyone who has been born of God does not commit sin, because His seed remains in him, and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. The Apostle wrote that the child of God has the seed of God in Him. And we know that the life that is in God is in His Seed — even in His Son Jesus Christ. And so we do not sin because of the inherent righteous nature of God birthed in us through His Seed. And he added for emphasis, that the child of God cannot sin simply because He is born of God. This direct relationship between deeds and paternity may be likened to the fact that the life of a cat in a kitten is expressed in that it does not wallow in filth. And that the kitten cannot revel in dung because it is not a pig, but it is born of a cat. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-table-with-bro-joshua/message

The disciples had been arguing as to who was the greatest among them. In His intervention, our Lord Jesus contrasted the leadership profile of the kingdoms of this world with that in the Kingdom of God. He stated that the leaders of the kingdoms of this world lord it over their people, and are called providers for the people. They exalt themselves over their subjects. Put otherwise, the leaders in the world of Satan love the recognition and the acknowledgment, and the praise of men. After He defined the character of leadership in the kingdoms of this world, He turned to the then potential leaders in His church, and said to them: But you are not to do so. On the contrary, the greatest among you should become like the youngest, and the one who leads should become like the one who serves. Our Lord Jesus stated clearly to His disciples that they were not to be conformed to the leadership profile of the world of Satan. He said that those that are in the highest position in His Kingdom should humble themselves and take the lowest place amongst the brethren. Furthermore, He said the leaders in His church should become in heart and in deed like servants to the saints. Our Lord Jesus concluded His intervention in His disciples' controversy in these words: Because who is greater, the one who sits at the table, or the one who serves? It is the one at the table, isn't it? But I am among you as one who serves In today's parlance, He said He was in their midst like domestic help. We will pay particular attention to the fact that His words are present-continuous. Simply put, His servitude was neither a one-time demonstration, nor was it sporadic, but it was what characterized His entire three years plus of His fellowship with His disciples. Our KING exemplified for us that leadership in His Kingdom is not lordship or exaltation but is being a servant to our brethren. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-table-with-bro-joshua/message

Today, as we continue on the pathway to effectively exercise the authority delegated to us by our KING, we would see how we walk as our Lord Jesus walked by being subject to higher authority. However, before we proceed, we would come to a mutual understanding of the prerequisite internal configuration of those who would be “subject to higher authority”. These kings are characterized by the following: 1. They know the love of God for them, and as a result, they love God and His Christ with all their being. 2. They know that ultimately, all authority is of God. 3. They are aware that men and women who are in positions of authority have been placed there by their King as His representatives. 4. These saints love the persons placed in authority over them. 5. Regardless of the conduct of the person in higher authority, they honor the person and his position as they would honor THE KING OF KINGS. 6. These kings are not subject to those in higher authority grudgingly in their hearts, but they are delighted in their inner being to do the will of their KING, even if outwardly it hurts emotionally and physically. 7. They do not obey by law, but their obedience is by the life of The Son in the power of The Spirit of God. Such is the internal configuration of the king on the earth who would be subject to the KING OF KINGS. With this mutual understanding, we may now continue on the pathway to effectively exercise the authority of our KING on the earth. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-table-with-bro-joshua/message

Our first course of the day is the words of our Lord Jesus served from John 18:36: Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would fight so that I might not be delivered to the Jews. But now My kingdom is not from here. Twice, He states that His Kingdom does not originate in this world. And our second course is also His words taken from John 8:23: And He said to them, You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. Our Lord Jesus knew where He was not from because He knew where He was from. He declared that He was from Above. And He also knew His Root was not in this world. He, therefore, stated unequivocally that He was not of this world. In John 3:13, our Lord gave the specific location of where He came from, saying: And no one has ascended up to Heaven except He who came down from Heaven, the Son of Man who is in Heaven. He knew and declared that He came down from Heaven. And in John 17:8, He would reveal His consciousness of His Root amongst these words: For I have given to them the Words which You gave Me, and they have received them and have known surely that I came out from You. And they have believed that You sent Me. Our Lord Jesus knew not only that He was from Heaven, but He also knew that He came out of God. He had this consciousness in Himself that He came out of God from Heaven. No doubt, He walked in the light of this awareness. And if you and I would not be defined, and consequently, be characterized by the values and pursuits of where we do not originate from, we, also, must know without any shadow of a doubt The Spring of our being, and know where we are from. Therefore the question is where are we, His disciples, from? Our Lord Jesus spoke these words concerning His disciples in John chapter 15:19: If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. He said His disciples do not originate from the world. And in John 17:14, He said these words to His Father about us: I have given them Your Word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. He repeated His words in verse 16 of the seventeenth chapter of John: They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. He not only stated that believers do not have their origin in this world, but He put us at equality with Himself when He said, “even as I am not of the world”. This parity with He, Who came out of God from Heaven, is the answer to the question of where you and I originate from. In other words, we also came out of God from Heaven, for we were in Christ, even as the woman was in the first man prior to God creating her out of Him. Regardless of the sufficiency of the testimony of our Lord Jesus, we will look to His supplementary witnesses to testify to our origin. We pray that the Spirit of Truth will enlighten your heart and mind as you continue to listen, Amen. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-table-with-bro-joshua/message

Today, The Authority Of The Kingdom Of Heaven Is Wielded Effectively And Consistently Only By The Believer Who Overcomes The World

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 15, 2021 16:08

At our last gathering at The Table, we saw that our Lord Jesus grew not only physically, but that He also grew spiritually. We saw that we are joint-heirs with our Lord Christ. We also saw that The Kingdom of God is bequeathed to us by our Heavenly Father. We however understood that we cannot possess our inheritance of The Kingdom of God until Christ comes to maturity in us. Today, we will look at another perspective of our growth to maturity with the words of Lord Jesus as our main dish. He spoke these words to us in Revelation 3:21: To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me in My throne, even as I also overcame and have sat down with My Father in His throne. We will note that our Lord Christ did not sit with His Father in His Throne until He had overcome. Furthermore, He clearly stated that only those who overcome will sit with Him in His Throne. As we had seen previously, only those who Christ is fully formed in possess their inheritance of The Throne and Its authority. These are otherwise said to be overcomers by our Lord Jesus. With this in mind, we will proceed to walk the pathway to being an overcomer, so that we may enter into our inheritance. We begin our walk by finding out what/who do we overcome. John 16:33 reveals in His words what our Lord Jesus overcame: I have spoken these things to you so that you might have peace in Me. In the world you shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer. I have overcome the world. He overcame the world. So, what or who do we overcome? In 1John 2:12 -14, the Apostle of our Lord Jesus not only reveals the growth path of the child of God but twice, he also reveals who we overcome. We will however only read verse 14: I write to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the Word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one. We overcome the evil one. We overcome the prince of the world our Lord Jesus overcame. How do we overcome the world and her prince now that we know that we are to overcome the world and her prince? In John 14:30, our Lord Jesus spoke these words: Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me. He declared that there was no correspondence in Him with the prince of this world. In other words, there was no desire in Him for all that the world has to offer. And in Ephesians 4:27, His Apostle writes to us: Neither give place to the devil. The Apostle exhorts us not to give the devil a foothold within us. We should note that he said that except we give the devil a place in us he cannot take it. Now, here is the summary of what is being said: An internal breach of security gives victory to the enemy of our soul. Therefore, the primary pathway for you and I to overcome is to ensure that the prince of this world has nothing in us. We pray that your Spirit, Soul, and Body be nourished with the Bread of Life as you continue to listen. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-table-with-bro-joshua/message

How To Enter Into Your Inheritance In Christ Only At Maturity

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 8, 2021 14:42

Today, our main dish is served from two verses that are complementary: The first is Luke 2:40 and it reads: Luk 2:40 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him. And the second is Luke 2:52: Luk 2:52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. In the two verses, it is revealed that our Lord Jesus grew not only physically, but spiritually. We will keep this in mind as we continue with our meal. As we saw at our last gathering at The Table, our Lord Jesus said to His disciples in Luke 12:32: Luk 12:32 (32) Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Our Heavenly Father delights to give His children His Kingdom. Now the question is if the effective authority of The Kingdom of Heaven is handed over to all the children of God? Or is it given to only the best-behaved children? Or to those who work very hard to serve God in ministry? Before we proceed to seek the answer to our question, we will mention in passing that the authority being spoken of here includes casting out evil spirits, healing the sick and all, but it transcends these. This authority gives the bearer such power that whatever he allows/disallows in the furtherance of The Kingdom of Heaven and in harmony with the will of God is what is executed or stopped on the earth We see demonstrations of such authority in Joshua 10:12 & 13 and Mark 4:39. Furthermore, such is also written for us in Matthew 16: 19; and Matthew 18:19. This authority also grants the possessor the power to bless or curse. Whatever or whosoever he/she blesses is blessed, and whosoever/whatever is cursed is cursed as we see in Genesis 49:1–27; Mark 11:21; Mark 11:23; and Acts 13:11. The authority being exercised is, in reality, The God of Heaven ruling through His children on the earth as is written thus in Psalm 103:19: Psa 103:19 (19) Jehovah has prepared His throne in the heavens; and His kingdom rules over all. We may now continue with our quest to see if there is any other qualification apart from being a child of God to receive our Father's Kingdom. The Apostle Paul writes thus to us in Romans 8, verses 16 and 17: Rom 8:16–17 (16) The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God. (17) And if we are children, then we are heirs; heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ; so that if we suffer with Him, we may also be glorified together. Being children of God, we are joint-heirs with our Lord Christ. May your spirit, soul, and body be nourished with the Life in the words of the lord as you continue to listen in the name of Jesus Christ --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-table-with-bro-joshua/message

The Children Of God Are The Children Of The Resurrection

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 31, 2021 13:54

Today, our main dish is the words of our Lord Jesus in Luke 12:32, where He said: Luk 12:32 (32) Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Our Lord Jesus said our Father delights to give His children His Kingdom. In other words, it gives Him joy to hand over the authority and the power of The Kingdom of Heaven to His children. Now, listen to our Lord Jesus in Luke 20:34–36 describe the children of God: Luk 20:34–36 (34) And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: (35) But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage: (36) Neither can they die anymore: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. Two points are of particular interest to us in this passage: 1. The children of God cannot die anymore. 2. The children of God are the children of the resurrection. Our Lord Jesus said the children of God can no longer die. Does this mean that once we are born of God, we continue to live in our body forevermore? In John 5:24, He said: Joh 5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, He who hears My Word and believes on Him who sent Me has everlasting life and shall not come into condemnation, but has passed from death to life. So, when He said we can no longer die, He is not saying we would live forever in our physical bodies, but that we have passed out of the clutches of spiritual death, and now have eternal life. Praise the Lord! However, this does not mean that once you have eternal life, you can no longer be returned to your previous state of spiritual death, no matter what you do or what you subsequently believe and consequently say. Whosoever, after being born again by believing that the man, Jesus, is The Son of God, and then later turns around and denies that Jesus is God in human flesh instantly passes from life eternal back to spiritual death. Any child of God who denies the Divinity of our Lord Jesus is forever lost. Such a one has trodden underfoot the Son of God, and has counted The Blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and has despised the Spirit of Grace as is written by the Apostle Paul in Hebrews 10:29. This is the sin unto death spoken of by the Apostle of our Lord Jesus in 1John 5:16. It is an absolute waste of time to pray for such a person: it is an exercise in futility. Let us, therefore, hold fast our confession that our Lord Jesus is God manifest in the flesh. By the Grace of our God and in the power of His Spirit, this we will do to the end, even unto the death. We pray you Spirit, Soul, ANd Body be nourished with the Bread of Life, as you continue to listen, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-table-with-bro-joshua/message

At our last gathering at The Table, we saw how great our God is when we understood that His Throne is not in Heaven, but that Heaven is His Throne, with the earth as the stool for His feet. Consequently, we saw the infinite scope of The Kingdom of our Father. We saw that all of the greatness and all the authority of The Kingdom of God are vested in The Name of our Lord Jesus. We also saw that the great love which our Father loved us with is revealed tangibly in The Name of Jesus. The Name of Jesus delivers to us here on the earth the practical benefits of the love of God. Amongst other manifestations of the love of our Father, we saw that in The Name of Jesus, we are absolutely immunized from all toxins and from the venoms of serpents and scorpions. In other words, in The Name of Jesus, no poison from external sources — no airborne diseases, no water-borne diseases, no venom from animals like mosquitoes, snakes, scorpions, and all, can in any way hurt us. Our Lord Jesus said this to us in Mark 16:18 and Luke 10:19. However, we do not deliberately expose ourselves to poisonous substances or venomous animals in order that God may prove Himself: such thinking is to have fallen into the Tempter's snare. The Name of Jesus trumps every sickness and every disease, and He keeps physical death on hold until God's eternal purpose summed up in His Son is accomplished in, and through us in our mortal bodies. Furthermore, we understood that our Lord Christ was born again by His Father when God raised Him from the dead and brought Him out of hell. And we saw His Father subsequently enthrone Him as His King on Mount Zion. We concluded our meal by seeing that our Lord Christ is the great King ruling on the earth from the throne of His father David, in Mount Zion. Today, our main dish is served from the words of our Lord Jesus taken from Matthew 5:14: Mat 5:14 You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. We will note the following in these two sentences: 1. Our Lord Jesus was speaking to His disciples. 2. He said to His disciples that they are the light of the world. 3. He spoke to His disciples about a city situated on a hill, which cannot but be visible to all. Our Lord Jesus would subsequently expound these words to His Apostle in Revelation chapters 21 and 22. We will begin with chapter 21 and verses 9–11: Rev 21:9–11 (9) And one of the seven angels who had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues came to me and talked with me, saying, Come here, I will show you the bride, the Lamb's wife. (10) And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, (11) having the glory of God. And its light was like a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal. May you be nourished with the bread of life as you continue to listen, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-table-with-bro-joshua/message

Our main dish of the day is served from the words of our Lord Jesus taken from Matthew 5:34 & 35: Mat 5:34–35 (34) But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, (35) or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. Our focal point in this passage is not oath-taking, but the two thrones brought into view by our Lord Jesus. These two thrones are: 1. God's throne which is Heaven. 2. The throne of the great King situated in Jerusalem. In His declaration, our Lord Jesus did not say that God's throne is in Heaven; rather, He said Heaven is God's Throne. What difference does it make if God's throne is Heaven, or if His throne is in Heaven? That Heaven is God's throne gives us an insight into how great our God is. King Solomon had this insight into the greatness of God, and spoke these words written for us in 2Chronicles 2:5–6: 2Ch 2:5–6 (5) And the house that I will build is great; for great is our God above all gods. (6) But who is able to build him a house, seeing the heavens and the heaven of heavens cannot contain him? And who am I that I should build him a house, except to burn sacrifice before him? So, what is the practical relevance to us today of seeing how great our God and Father is? At some point in his distresses, King David, inspired by The Spirit of God, penned for us Psalm 34. And the first three verses read: Psa 34:1–3 (1) A Psalm of David, when he changed his behavior before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. (2) My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. (3) O magnify the LORD with me and let us exalt his name together. When we see the infinite magnitude of our God, and consequently the scope of His Kingdom, our hearts not only bow in humble adoration but also our confidence in Him is boosted regardless of circumstances. Listen to again, and hear, the words of the sweet psalmist of Israel: I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. He exhorts us to bless The Lord at all times: to praise Him in, and out of season. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: And to confidently put our trust in our God, boldly and publicly, declaring in Whom we trust. The humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. In humble adoration, we rejoice in the greatness of our God. O magnify the LORD with me. We declare His greatness together with other saints. Let us exalt his name together We pray that your spirit, soul, and body be nourished with Life by the Spirit of Truth, even as you continue to feed on the bread of life, in Jesus' Name Amen. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-table-with-bro-joshua/message

The Three Non-Negotiable Conditions To Follow Christ

For our main dish of the day, we turn to the words of our Lord Jesus written in John 12:25: Joh 12:25 (25) He who loves his life shall lose it. And he who hates his life in this world shall keep it to life eternal. He states categorically that any one of us who delights in his life in this world shall lose his life. And He goes further to reveal the prerequisite for you and me to live in our heritage of life eternal even while we are yet in our mortal bodies. He declares that the precondition for us live in eternal life is to “hate our lives in this world”. What does our Lord Jesus mean by “this world”? As we had seen previously, this world is characterized by these three parameters revealed by His Apostle in 1John 2:15 & 16: 1. The irresistible impulse to gratify the inherent nature of the devil we were all born with before we were born of God. 2. The insatiable desire for the thing money can buy. 3. Defining oneself by the values of the world of Satan. How then do we hate our lives in this world? We begin our quest to respond to our question by looking at the church in the wilderness. After she was delivered out of Egypt, the whole nation of Israel saw The Pleasant Land through the eyes of the twelve spies as is written for us in Numbers 13. We pray that you are nourished with the Truth, by the Spirit of Truth, even as you continue to listen in the name of Jesus Christ. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-table-with-bro-joshua/message

At our last gathering at The Table, we saw that whosoever believes in his heart and proclaims with his mouth that the man, Jesus, is The Christ, The Son of God, is born of God. We saw that the church of God, empowered with the authority of the Kingdom of Heaven, is built by our Lord Jesus upon the foundation of this inspired revelation and proclamation that He is The Christ of God. We understood that the church of The Firstborn wars against, and overcomes the gates of hell on the premise of the rock-solid foundation that Jesus is God in human flesh. We also saw revealed in the Apostle Peter's attempt at dissuading our Lord Jesus from embracing His Father's will that human compassion could be in stout opposition to the will of our Heavenly Father for us. We saw that this seeming demonstration of love by friends and family is actually Satan's ploy to persuade you and me not to drink the cup our Heavenly Father would have us drink. In reality, it is Satan masquerading as “protective love”, or in Biblical parlance, “Satan Himself is transformed into an angel of light”. Consequently, we saw the need for us to be able to consistently and distinctively discern the voice of The Shepherd and Bishop of our souls And we thus concluded our meal with the basic guide for us to rightly identify The Voice of The Good Shepherd. Today, we will continue with the discussion between our Lord Jesus and His disciples with our main dish served from Matthew 16:21–23: Mat 16:21–23 (21) From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. (22) Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. (23) But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offense unto me: for thou savourest, not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. After He had discerned Satan as the one speaking to Him through Peter, our Lord Jesus declares the enmity between Satan and Himself, by stating that the prince of this world is antagonistic towards Him in a repugnant manner. Furthermore, He reveals that we cannot delight ourselves in the things of God when we relish the things of men. “This law of displacement”, if we would, is very clearly stated by our Lord Jesus in Matthew 6:24: you either love God or hate Him; you either cling to God or loathe Him contemptibly. May you be nourished in your as you continue to listen in the name of Jesus Christ. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-table-with-bro-joshua/message

Today, we continue with the exploration of our heritage of the Kingdom of our Father with our main dish served from Matthew 16:13–17: Mat 16:13–17 (13) Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” (14) And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” (15) He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” (16) Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” (17) And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. This passage begins with our Lord Jesus asking His disciples whom men said, He, the man, Jesus was. And His disciples responded by saying who they had heard men say variously that He was. Our Lord Jesus then pointedly asks His disciples, even as He is asking you today, “but who do you say that I am”? In a flash of divine illumination, Peter answered, and said, you are The Christ, The Son of the living God. What is the significance of recognizing who, the man, Jesus, is in truth? In 1John 5:1, the Apostle of our Lord Jesus makes a simple, yet the fundamental statement: 1Jn 5:1 (1) Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him. Whosoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. In verse 5 of the same 1John5, he interprets for us what it means to believe that Jesus is The Christ of God: 1Jn 5:5 (5) Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? To believe that Jesus is The Christ is to believe that He is The Son of the living God. This was the Apostle Peter's inspired recognition and verbal proclamation that culminated in our Lord Jesus declaring him blessed. And this is all it takes for you to be transformed from a child of the devil to a child of God: simply believe in your heart and proclaim that the man, Jesus, is the Christ of God, The Son of the living God. Going further, our Lord Jesus makes two fundamental declarations in Matthew 16:18: Mat 16:18 (18) And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Firstly, He declares that the inspired recognition and verbal proclamation that He is The Son of God is “the”, not “a”, but the foundation upon which His church is built. Secondly, He states that his church prosecutes the war against hell and overcomes it on this premise. His Apostle reechoes this in 1John 5:5: 1Jn 5:5 (5) Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? Prevailing against the gates of hell is premised on being unwaveringly anchored in the truth that Jesus is The Son of God. At our last gathering at The Table, we saw that the moment we became born again, we were not only delivered from the power of Darkness, and translated into The Kingdom of God, but that The Kingdom of God was also birthed in us simultaneously. We also saw that The Kingdom of God within us is righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. We noted, even as we do emphatically now, that these three are not arranged randomly, but that they are arranged in order of priority with righteousness as the foundation for peace, and also for joy in the Holy Spirit. We began to seek the true understanding of what righteousness is. And we got as far as seeing that the Bible is replete with witnesses that testify that righteousness is diametrically opposed to sin, even as light is to darkness. We saw that sin is the core nature of the devil packaged in his word of lie. We concluded our meal by noting that acts of sin, otherwise called evil or iniquity, are the manifestations of the nature of the devil himself. Today we will continue with our quest to understand what righteousness is, in truth. Our main dish is served from the words of our Lord Jesus taken from John 17:25: Joh 17:25 (25) O righteous Father, indeed the world has not known You; but I have known You, and these have known that You have sent me. His first three words, “O righteous Father”, are of particular interest to us. For us to gain the true understanding of what righteousness is, we begin at the beginning with John 1:1: Joh 1:1 (1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word of God is God. Put otherwise, God is revealed in His Word. In John 17:17, our Lord Jesus reveals what the word of God is: Joh 17:17 (17) Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. In other words, God is truth. Now, the Apostle of our Lord Jesus describes the means by which we were born by our Heavenly Father in these words written in James 1:17 & 18: Jas 1:17–18 (17) Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, neither shadow that is cast by turning. (18) Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. A complimentary verse to this is written to us in 1Peter 1:23: 1Pe 1:23 (23) Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever. The word of God, otherwise called the word of truth by the Apostle James is called seed by the Apostle Peter. And we know that every seed produces after its kind. What then is the fruit produced in us when we received the word of truth? Put otherwise, what is the produce of the seed of the word of God that was planted in our hearts by believing God's testimony that our Lord Jesus is His Son? We pray you are nourished as you continue to listen in Jesus' name, Amen. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-table-with-bro-joshua/message

At our last gathering at The Table, we saw that the very moment we are born again, we are freed from the inherent yoke of the devil within, and liberated from the dominion of Satan without; and in the same instance we are brought into The Kingdom of God and of His Christ. And we concluded our meal by seeing that God's ultimate purpose for us is to grow up into Christ in all respects so that we can walk in the glorious liberty of the children of God, trampling under our feet all the power of the enemy. Today, our main dish is served from Luke 17:20 & 21: Luk 17:20–21 (20) And when he was demanded of the Pharisees when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: (21) Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. The Pharisees questioned our Lord Jesus about the timing of The Kingdom of God being set up, and He responded by saying that the Kingdom of God can neither be perceived with the physical senses, nor is it located in a physical geographic location on the earth. He further stated that The Kingdom of God is situated within us. At our last gathering, we saw that we are translated from the power of Satan into The Kingdom of God by our rebirth, and so how can The Same Kingdom be located in us at the same time? For the response to our question, we will begin with the opening segment of the fundamental teaching of our Lord Jesus taken from the account in Luke 8:9–11: Luk 8:9–11 (9) And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be? (10) And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. (11) Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. The parable in question is the parable of the sower, and He begins its interpretation by saying to His disciples, even as He is saying to you and I today, that it is granted to us to understand the mysteries of The Kingdom of God, for, as He also said in Luke 12:32: Luk 12:32 (32) Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Our Heavenly Father is very delighted to give us His Kingdom by granting us the understanding of her mysteries, which remain veiled to others. In other words, through understanding, we walk in the reality here on the earth of the heritage of our Heavenly Father's Kingdom; for without understanding we would be dead to — we would be separated from that which has been freely given to us in our union with our Lord Christ. At our last gathering at The Table, we summarized the all-inclusive consequence of the one act of disobedience by the one man in these words: The Serpent struck his victim. His death-dealing venom was sin packaged in a lie. The lie of the devil dethroned the truth of God's word. Adam was translated from light into darkness. From being light, he transformed into darkness. The life in him was supplanted by death. Righteous by nature, he became sin in his being. He who had dominion over all the earth Was now a subject of Satan within and without. Adam, son of God, had become a child of the devil. Translated Today, we continue the exploration of our inheritance of The Kingdom of God, with our main dish served from Luke 8:1–3: Luk 8:1–3 (1) And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him, (2) And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, (3) And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance. The preaching of the Good News of the invisible Kingdom of God is invariably coupled with healings and deliverance from all the oppression of the devil. These healings and deliverances are a revelation of God's compassion for the misery inflicted upon man as a result of our compromise with the devil rooted in the first man's disobedience. However, the liberation from the physical and emotional torments of that wicked one is not an end in itself: there is a higher objective in view: which is to free you from the inherent spiritual yoke with the devil, and make you a child of God not only in doctrine but in truth and indeed. These healings and deliverances have as their ultimate goal to facilitate your believing in The Name of the only begotten Son of God that you may have life through His Name. We catch a glimpse of this facilitation by the miracles to believe in The Name of our Lord Jesus in John 2:23: Joh 3:1–2 (1) Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. (2) This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.” Evidently, because of the miracles done by Him, Nicodemus' attention was drawn to our Lord Jesus as One not only sent by God but also as a man whom God was with. Our Lord Jesus responded to Nicodemus in these words in John 3:3: Joh 3:3 (3) Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. He sought to direct Nicodemus to the ultimate end of these miracles: TRANSLATION from Satan's Kingdom into The Kingdom of God. Furthermore, He revealed that the only means by which you can be transported from Satan's domain into The Kingdom of Heaven is by being born again. Born Again!? Naturally, Nicodemus was perplexed at the Lord's statement that he must be born a second time, and we continue with their conversation in John 3:4 & 5: We pray, in the Name of Jesus Christ, that you are richly nourished as you listen to the end. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-table-with-bro-joshua/message

…in spite of the outward appearances of life, the branch died the moment it was severed from the vine. At a previous gathering at The Table, we saw that the immediate primary outward consequence of Adam's disobedience was that he and his wife were translated from the realm of Light into the Kingdom of Darkness. Consequently, in their inner beings, they began to see in the light of the darkness of this world, or as it is written, “the eyes of them both were opened”. At our last gathering, we saw God ascribe personality to the light of Darkness. We saw that it was the light of Darkness that told the man and his wife that they were naked. And we saw him — the light of Darkness — dictate to the couple what they should do, compelling them to make clothes to hide one from the other. We noted that Darkness can neither be wished away nor prayed and fasted away. Darkness has only one antidote: Light. Light dispels darkness. We also saw that the Christ of God in us all who are born of His Father is The Light within that dispels the darkness of this world. We concluded our meal by seeing that when we see in the light of spiritual darkness and thus walk in him, all our actions and inactions are compelled by him. However, we also saw that when in our inner man, we see in the light of the light of Life — when we are illuminated by the Christ in us, we walk by faith even in the face of seemingly contradictory circumstances. Today, we will move from the primary outward consequences of the man's disobedience to the all-inclusive inward consequences of the one act of disobedience by the one man. At our last gathering at The Table, we saw the woman deceived by the serpent into disbelieving the truth of God's word and in His place believing the lie of the devil. And we saw the man disobey God's commandment at the instance of his wife. We also saw the tragic chapter in man's history suspended with The Father, in love, clothe the couple in skins from a yet-to-be-disclosed-animal, whose blood must have been shed to atone for their sin and to pave a limited pathway for fellowship between them and The Lord. We concluded our meal by seeing that the primary outward consequence of the man's disobedience was that the couple was immediately translated from the realm of Light into The Kingdom of Darkness. And thus, the man and his wife became conscious in darkness: the Light in which they walked within was replaced with the light of Darkness, or, as it is written, “And the eyes of them both were opened”. Today, we will continue with seeking to understand the immediate primary outward consequences of the man's disobedience as it is written in Genesis 3:7: Gen 3:7 (7) And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. After the eyes of the man and his wife were opened, the bible says, “and they knew that they were naked”. However, Genesis 2:25 reveals that their being naked was not a new development: Gen 2:25 (25) And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. Both of them had always been naked. Not only were they naked, but they also had no compulsion whatsoever to hide their nakedness from each other. What is the significance to us of their perception of being naked after they were translated from Light to Darkness? We will begin with Genesis 3:8–11 for the answer to our question: Gen 3:8–11 (8) And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. (9) And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou (10) And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked, and I hid myself. (11) And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? We get the clue, not a, but the clue to our seeing the relevance to us of the couple's newly acquired knowledge in the first of the two questions God asked the man in verse 11: “Who told you that you were naked?” In other words, “Who” is the source of your information? We should note that God did not ask the man, “how” he knew that he was naked, but He asked him “Who” it was that told him so. God ascribed personality to the source of the couple's knowledge of their nakedness. Going further, we will seek to identify the one who told the couple that they were naked. Today we will continue with our quest to know the mysteries of The Kingdom of our Father which have been given to us to understand. Our main dish is served from Genesis 1: 1–5, with particular reference to verses 3–5: Genesis 1:1–5 (1) In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (2) And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (3) And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. (4) And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. (5) And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. From Genesis 1:3, God steps into the formless and empty mass covered in the darkness that the earth was plunged into by Satan, and He begins the process of renewal with His Word. In verse 3 God spoke light into being, by saying: “Let there be light”. Subsequently, in verse 4, after confirming that the light was good, God separated the light from the darkness that covered the earth. This separation reveals to us that two realms coexisted side by side: 1. The Domain of Light which God called Day. 2. The territory enveloped in the darkness occasioned by Satan, God called Night. Now, it is most critical that we understand that these two spiritual realms of Light and Darkness, otherwise called Day and Night, existed alongside one another before the physical lights of the sun and the moon would be created in the fourth day, and evidently, also before the first man would be created by God on the sixth day. Being aware of the existence of these two distinct and separated spiritual domains of Light and Darkness, coexisting alongside one another on the earth, prior to the creation of Adam, is the foundation for our understanding in the exploration of our inheritance of our Father's Kingdom. After completing His restoration of the earth, and restocking it as it were in the first five days of His renewal exercise, God proceeded to create man on the sixth day. At our last gathering at The Table, we saw that The Kingdom of God is the core message of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus. Today, we will begin to explore our heritage of the Kingdom of our Father, setting out from the beginning, for, it is impossible to know where you are going except you know where you are starting from. Our main dish for the day is served from Genesis 1:1 -2: Gen 1:1–2 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Verse one reveals firstly, that before the earth and the heaven existed, God is. And secondly, that the heavens and the earth were created by God. A complimentary verse to Genesis 1:1 is found in Isaiah 45:18: Isa 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else. In this verse, the Prophet Isaiah not only reaffirms the creation record written by Moses the servant of God, but he also gives un an insight into the initial state of the earth saying: “God created it not a waste, and formed it to be inhabited”. In other words, God neither created the earth as a wilderness nor formed it to be empty and desolate. 1However, Genesis 1:2 reads: Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. This desolate and empty state of the earth is a direct contradiction to what is revealed to us in Isaiah 45:18, where the Prophet states that God neither created the earth as a wilderness nor formed it to be empty and desolate. What happened between verses 1 and 2 of Genesis 1 to render the earth formless, and to turn it into an empty space? We begin our quest for the answer to this question with the words of our Lord Jesus taken from Luke 10:18: Luk 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. In Revelation 12:7–9, the Apostle of our Lord Jesus reveals to us the details of Satan's fall from Heaven: Rev 12:7–9 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Before we proceed to our focal point in this illuminating passage, we must note emphatically that the war in Heaven was not fought between God and the devil — no! Perish the thought! The war was fought between Michael the archangel of God and his angels on one hand, and on the other hand, the great dragon fighting alongside his angels. Michael and his angels overcame the great dragon, and he, with his angels, were expelled from Heaven and flung down to the earth. Now, a diamond reflects the different colors of light and thereby sparkles brilliantly as if it is on fire; however, regardless of the different reflections, it is not many different stones put together but one stone. Similarly, we get different perspectives of a mountain when it is viewed from various positions. In spite of the variety of views, they are all one, being of the same mass. The mountain is not just one view, but a summation of all. The Bible gives us nine perspectives of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. These views are: The Glorious Gospel Of The Blessed God The Gospel Of The Kingdom Of God The Gospel Of Jesus Christ, The Son of God The Glorious Gospel of Christ The Gospel Of Peace The Gospel Of The Grace Of God The Gospel Of Your Salvation The Gospel Of The Uncircumcision/ Of The Circumcision The Everlasting Gospel Each of these perspectives gives an insight into the redemptive purposes of God in us, and for us. Just like a mountain is not one perspective, it is the summation of all the views of the Gospel of God that enables us to inherit the fullness of our redemption in Christ Jesus, our Great God, and Savior. We would walk in the full light of our redemption only as we see every perspective of This Glorious Gospel together as one, and not see each in isolation. And in addition to these two prime witnesses, the centrality of The Kingdom of God to the Gospel is also attested by the following: 1. Prior to the birth of our Lord Jesus, the angel Gabriel told His mother, that The Child that would be conceived in her is not only The Son of God but that He is also the long-awaited Messiah, Who would forever sit upon The Throne of His father, David. 2. After His birth, wise men from the east came seeking for: “He that is born King of the Jews”. 3. Nathanael, in a flash of divine illumination recognized Him as the Christ, saying, “You are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel”. 4. In His discussion with Nicodemus, our Lord Jesus reveals that being born again is simply the simultaneous means by which we have: a) Our spiritual natures changed from that of the devil to being of God. b) And also the means by which we are translated from the Kingdom of darkness into The Kingdom of God. 5. In His fundamental teaching that He calls “The parable of The Sower”, our Lord Jesus reveals to us that the seed sown in our hearts is the word of The Kingdom. 6. In Matthew 5:3, He begins His teaching by revealing to us the inward disposition of the heirs of The Kingdom of Heaven. 7. In Matthew 6:33, He says to us that whilst we are yet in the body, our primary preoccupation should be to see that we are subject to the rule of our King and that His righteous nature blossoms, and comes to fruitfulness within us.
