What happens when you move to a new country… and it doesn't work out? You don't find the happiness and success that you thought you would. You painfully miss everyone and everything that you left behind and feel like you've made a huge mistake. We've all gone through times of feeling this way, but it isn't spoken about enough so you can end up feeling like a failure. Like you're the only one struggling. This episode's guest is Chiara from England. She has recently blown up on social media since she started to vulnerably share her story. She moved to Vancouver just last year and has since realised that it wasn't the right decision for her. This podcast is filled with inspiring success stories from newcomers to Canada. People who have built amazing lives for themselves here. It's truly an incredible country and there is so much opportunity. However, I was excited to sit down with Chiara for a different take. One that so many people share and experience (as you can see from the comments on her videos.) Sometimes, a move abroad doesn't bring you happiness and a return back home is the best choice for you. Together, we discuss her story and what brought her to this decision. We chat about the danger of making a PLACE responsible for your happiness, and whether we think living outside of our comfort zones is even a positive thing. Chiara then shares whether she's nervous about returning to her old life in London and some of her best advice for others who may be regretting their move. In this podcast, I offer you three pieces of advice I´ve just learn while visitng home: Invite Others to Help Care for Your Loved One: Sharing the responsibility of caregiving can lighten your load and provide better support for your loved one. Don't Wait Until Tomorrow to Do the Things You Want to Do: Embrace the present and make time for your passions and interests today. Avoid Overloading Yourself with Activities; Be Mindful of What You Do: Focus on being present and intentional with your actions, prioritizing quality over quantity.

Sharna is back from Australia and talking about her time down under, including her experience traveling on a 16-hour flight with a toddler, reconnecting with family, and revealing that going back home really made her long for the Aussie lifestyle she grew up with and wishes she could raise Zane there. That leads to the trio discussing how some partners might take those words personally and feel insufficient. Randy has a great perspective on pausing to listen to your partner and suspending personalization. Plus, the trio has an old-ish discussion on AI, a Vegemite debate, and a lesson on sausage sizzles! Episode Number 200. We wouldn't be here without our incredible fans. Dave Turner from Devils Insiders joins the podcast to talk about the rollercoaster of a season in New Jersey. Even with the countless injuries and poor goaltending, this organization still has a chance to make the playoffs. And if they make playoffs, watch out. Tune in now!
'Tis the season to journey back, to our roots, our old homes, and our cherished roles in the family fold. Yet, this time, we return not just as individuals, but as the architects of our own families. We've grown, gained new identities, and now bear the responsibility of caring for our own. Amidst the festive family frolics, we dance with grace, balancing the nostalgia of the past with the joy of creating new traditions for our own growing families. Our resident psychologist, Dr. Naomi Gibson, steps in to help us see the situation, and provides us with a mental map of things we can do.

The Portuguese government's decision to end the Non-Habitual Resident (NHR) tax scheme brings significant implications for expats living in Portugal and those considering moving to Portugal. The NHR scheme, a major draw for expatriates seeking financial advantages, played a crucial role in attracting foreign investment and skills, thereby boosting the local economy. However, its termination may lead to a reassessment among expats, who might explore relocating to other tax-friendly European destinations. This change could impact Portugal's real estate market and local businesses, which had grown accustomed to the expat community. For those contemplating a move to Portugal or living abroad in Europe, this highlights the importance of considering factors beyond financial incentives, including cultural adaptation and long-term residency plans. The situation serves as a reminder of the dynamic nature of expat life and the necessity for thorough research and flexibility when planning to move and settle in a new country. Welcome back to Perfectly Imperfect, I hope you enjoy this episode! In this series of "Is this Serving a Purpose" we are having a girl talk about the concept of going back home. When you are finally out of the house, and you have grown as a person; is it safe to go back home to what is familiar? I am thankful to have our guest Alaysia here to give insight on her experience while on this faith walk. Praying while Imperfect ministry: linktr.ee/prayingwhileimperfect or ig @prayingwhileimperfect
It's the end of the month so it's another Power Panel episode. Rena, Rummy, and Kirat discuss whether or not therapy talk is making us more selfish. Do terms like"triggering", "boundaries" and "self care" get thrown around to justify selfish behaviour and cause us to back away from our own families sometimes? If your family are immigrants, what is the importance going back to your motherland? Are we too British to care now or is visiting the country our parents/grandparents are from help us form a stronger sense of who we are? And Hen Do season has begun. Apparently Healthy Hen-Dos are all the rage now (what are they? you ask!) But has it become too expensive to attend these festivities now and should we go back to the old days of wearing a veil and L plates in the local pub rather than a 5 night trip to Dubai?
Hey. In this episode for water signs: Scorpio, Pisces and Cancers there is a move taking place and its full of emotions. You will be reunited with your mom or grandmother. For someone: there has been a separation that will cause you to move back home to your land where love lies still. This is support. There is someone expecting their baby girl in little to no time and where you are... there is no support so you will be moving back home. Your family got YOU! New York State Fair, Syracuse, N.Y. - August 23, 2001:"Playing with Chuck at the State Fair was quite an experience… Chuck was late, forcing the opening act to significantly stretch out their set. He raced a large Lincoln hard into the infield behind the stage. He got out and handed a briefcase to management and said, 'First things first.' Berry insisted being paid upfront - cash only. The promoter must have been previously made aware of what to expect with Mr. Berry… After Chuck finished counting out his $20,000 in $100 dollar bills, he went to his dressing room and requested the presence of the bass player from the pickup band. The bass player came back with Berry's guitar in hand.‘Did he give us a set list?' Asked the drummer…‘No, he just wants me to tune his guitar.'As they were about to take the stage, Berry emerged to tell the roadie, ‘Put all the dials on my amp on nine.'”Freight Train - Elizabeth CottenEnd Of A Rainbow - Jimmy JohnsonSho' Nuff I Do - Elmore JamesHot Pants Woman - Willie WilliamsGotta Move - Homesick JamesBring It On Home - Willie DixonLost Sheep In The Fold - Otis SpannSome People - Chuck BerryLittle Angel Child - Pinetop Perkins with Sammy LawhornI Still Don't Know - Willie MabonI've Been Loving You Too Long - Etta JamesHelp Me Through The Day - Bobby BlandThose Lonely, Lonely Nights - Earl KingI Won't Be Worried No More - Otis RushNew Ma Negress - Clifton ChenierGoodnight Well It's Time To Go - Chuck BerryLove Letters - Elvis Presley

This tale is about a legendary guitar hero who has officially cheated death. To successive generations of guitar aficionados, Wilko Johnson is a cult figure in the rock world. He's been a Blockhead and a founding member of Canvey Island's celebrated punk precursors: Dr Feelgood whose unwavering devotion to old-fashioned rhythm and blues and Wilko's explosive guitar playing inspired everyone from Paul Weller to Joe Strummer. Life made a cruel twist in 2012 when Wilko was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer but it led to the most extraordinary year of his life which started with a farewell tour, included a part in Game of Thrones and an album with Roger Daltrey, and then culminated with the most surreal experience of all: a cure. The tracks features are: Roxette and Milk & Alcohol by Dr Feelgood, Going Back Home by Wilko Johnson and Roger Daltrey from their album Going Back Home, and Say Goodbye from Wilko Johnson's album Blow Your Mind.
