Welcome to The Tuesday Show, brought to you by Blue Light Media. We take the situations we encounter while running a media company and share the tactical changes we made to help everyone win. Check in with the latest marketing tips, what's working for local business owners, and how to build influence online.
Proving ROI. It's one of the essentials we focus on at Blue Light, especially in Paid Media. For our fitness studio partners using booking platform MindBody, though, this can be tricky. The studio's Facebook Pixel won't work because it's not their site, and MindBody only allows Google Analytics tracking. Our solution: Create a workflow that takes users on a short, yet trackable journey, landing on a page we track with Goals on Google Analytics. On this episode of The Tuesday Show, we'll walk you through how to use MindBody's widget, Google Analytics, and a landing page so you can know where your purchases come from. For a video version with screenshots to guide you through the process, head here.
It's interesting to see so many brands still worried about making the shift from traditional retail sales to a direct to consumer model. It's even more interesting to see how many brands are still reluctant to shift their advertising budget from traditional OOH and print to digital channels. To us it just makes sense. There are certain online retailers that seem to make a lot of sense to us though, obviously, the searchability of Amazon makes sense, for supplements with international reach, iHerb makes a lot of sense. But outside of that - why not focus more energy on getting traffic to their own sites? You're capturing data, you're increasing your margins. Maybe it's because only 15% of all retail sales are attributed to e-commerce, which is fine. I get that we can't completely make the shift overnight - but if that's the case then stop comparing to brands like Away, Allbirds, or The Honest Company, who focus almost all of their efforts on direct to consumer. Until you decide to take the same focus, you're playing a completely different game. Watch the full video on LinkedIn!
This week we're getting picky... about what's in our performance bars. Picky Bars is a gluten-free performance bar company in Bend, Oregon, started by three professional athletes (Jesse Thomas, Lauren Fleshman, and Stephanie Bruce) looking for a better bar. We love them in the office because that's a type of performance, too, right? Right. Listen in to hear the results of their Heartline Assessment, our influencer dream team, and who really ate all the Picky Bars in the office.
We appreciate brands that are authentic to themselves, which is why this episode was so fun to record! This week Mikhail and Hannah cover what we love about World Peas and their Peatos, which includes some well-targeted jokes against a certain cheesy cheetah. If you've been enjoying the Tuesday Show, we would appreciate your review! It really helps us out as we continue to share our top branding and marketing advice.
