Jana Goodbaum, a former fast-food marketer turned health-conscious mom, knew there had to be a better option — so she took to her own chaotic kitchen to build it. After endless recipe testing (while momming), she finally landed on Happy Wolf: nut-free snack bars made only with only whole ingredients you can find in your own kitchen.Today, Happy Wolf can be found in the refrigerated section of 120 retailers—including Wegman's—and will be in 450 stores by the end of 2024 with a major retailer launch around the corner. In a market saturated with "clean" labels and health claims, Happy Wolf's approach is resonating with a growing demographic of parents who are steering clear of ultra-processed foods.IG happywolfsnacks | happywolf.comFind Me:IG + TikTok citrusdiaries.studiocitrusdiaries.com | hello@citrusdiaries.comCreate your podcast today! #madeonzencastr

Welcome to a new episode of In Conversation, the Business Matters podcast with Richard Alvin. In this episode, we sit down with John Wegman, CEO of Customs Support Group, to discuss the complexities of international trade, the impact of AI on customs processes, and how businesses are adapting to an increasingly turbulent global supply chain. In this episode:• Customs Support Group's Growth & Global Expansion:• How Customs Support Group has rapidly expanded by acquiring over 40 companies in just two years.• Why businesses are moving towards single customs partners rather than managing multiple brokers across different countries.• The Impact of Brexit, COVID-19, and Global Conflicts on Trade:• How recent global disruptions—from Brexit to supply chain crises—have increased customs complexity and trade risk.• Why companies are now holding more inventory than ever to hedge against uncertainty.• AI & Digital Transformation in Customs Processes:• How AI is being used to organise unstructured customs data, reduce human errors, and accelerate clearance times.• Why machine learning alone isn't enough—and how AI and human intelligence work together to ensure 100% accuracy in customs declarations.• The Impact of Political Changes on Global Trade:• How the Labour government's EU relationship is affecting UK importers and exporters.• The potential consequences of Trump's proposed trade tariffs on US and European supply chains.• How China's growing dominance in EV production is shifting global shipping routes and tariffs.• The Future of Global Shipping & Trade:• Why businesses are restructuring supply chains and increasing regional manufacturing to mitigate risks.• Predictions for the next decade of global trade digitisation—from real-time customs clearances to AI-driven supply chain forecasting. With supply chains more unpredictable than ever, John Wegman offers expert insights on how businesses can navigate customs, tariffs, and digital transformation in an increasingly complex world. Unless you're from the Northeast of the US chances are the name Wegman's doesn't ring a bell. So to get us all on the same page - it's a grocery store. If a very young Whole Foods and Trader Joe's had a baby with the feeling of a neighborhood grocery that's an idea of what it's like.Based out of Rochester, NY, it's now a decent-sized chain with 111 locations in the northeastern part of the country. (That's as of February 2025.)So why am I doing an episode about Wegman's? No it's not about nutrition or diets or the ridiculous cost of eggs. It's not about economics or tariffs or any of that horseshit. It's about community, pride … and cornbread. In a world where what passes for radical honesty usually means someone is just letting things fly outta their pie-hole without much care for others, it's time for radically authentic conversation. Conscious communication is simple, but often isn't easy. That's why Cathy Brooks created Talk, Unleashed – a weekly podcast of radically honest conversation about — everything. Whether her own musings or in conversation with industry leaders, each episode invites curiosity. Curiosity not about what people do, but why they do it. Who they are and what makes them tick. It's about digging underneath to reveal the thing that is most true - that we are more alike than we are not. A mix of solo episodes where Cathy shares her insights and experience or Cathy engaged in conversation with fascinating humans doing amazing things. No matter the format - it's unvarnished, radically honest and entirely unleashed. This podcast compliments Unleashed Leadership, the coaching business through which Cathy works with symphony orchestras, corporate clients, and individuals to help them unleash and untether their leadership and connect with others in a way that truly engages.#wegmans #wegmansmarket #midlothian #chefdoug #brutalhonesty #radicalhonesty #consciouscommunication #leadership #Conversation #connection #TalkUnleashed #fiercecompassion #UnleashedConversation #UnleashedLeadership #FixYourEndofTheLeash

This week, Nicole Wegman, the founder and C.E.O. of the fine jewelry company Ring Concierge, returns to the SUPERWOMEN podcast to discuss how she's transforming the industry with her women-first approach. When I first interviewed Nicole, in 2022, she spoke about the value of scaling a business slowly and strategically. Nicole launched Ring Concierge in 2013, when she was 26, to help women find forever pieces that are both inspirational and attainable. Since then, the company has exploded in growth, expanding from e-commerce to brick-and-mortar locations in New York City, Los Angeles, Houston, and, as of November, Boca Raton. In this episode, Nicole explores her struggle to find work-life balance, especially as the mother of two young children, while running a thriving company, the silver linings of mastering the less emotionally rewarding aspects of running a business, and how staying connected to her clients has driven innovation. Listen to her powerful insights on leadership, intuition, and the two things that any person starting a company should do.

Kamala Harris currently leads Donald Trump in national polls by more than 3 percentage points according to the website 538. But if there's one thing that recent elections have taught us, it is that a victory in the popular vote does not guarantee a spot in the oval office. This is, of course, thanks to the Electoral College. In two of the last six elections, more Americans punched their ballots for the eventual losers than the men who went on to claim the presidency. And the same could happen again this year. “My opinion is that it is a fundamentally unfair system because of the way it erases so many millions of Americans' votes,” says Jesse Wegman, a member of the editorial board of the New York Times. In 2020 Wegman joined Diane to talk about his book, “Let the People Pick the President,” and made his case for abolishing the Electoral College. With the 2024 election less than 75 days away, we revisit their conversation.

Considering mail order pharmacy? I'm Annette Leonard of https://www.annetteleonard.com find me on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/theannetteleonard When I was researching this question, I found the 6-8 mail order pharmacies that I thought best fit my needs and developed a list of questions to call and ask each pharmacy. I put the answers in a spreadsheet to see things visually to be able to rate and rank the options. Prior to choosing a mail order pharmacy, think about what your deal breakers are: timeliness? shipping speed? My questions were: Do you auto-renew and send medications every 28 or 84 days? When a script is out of refills, do you contact my doctor for a new prescription? In enough time for my prescription not to lapse? What about Schedule II meds like Fentanyl and Norco that need a new prescription every time, do you fill those? How would you help me ensure there isn't a lapse between prescriptions? How long does it take for you to get me my meds? (best- and worst-case scenario) What's the upside of using your service? What's the downside of using your service? How do I transfer all my current prescriptions to you? How do you make that easy for me? When can I reach you? How do you contact me if there are problems or questions? Do you fill prescriptions in 30/60/90 increments? Anything else it would be helpful to know? These are the pharmacies I included in my research: Amazon, Select RX, BlinkHealth, and Wegman's. In the end, I didn't chose to use mail order. I found only one company who would send Schedule II meds, several told me that they were having availability issues with some of my medications, very few were reachable over the weekend and shipping took 7-10 days. What about you? Are you doing this? Right now I only investigated options that take insurance, but it might be worth doing an examination of the mail order companies that don't. Has this worked out for you? What company are you using? Why do/don't you use mail order pharmacy? I'm Annette Leonard of https://www.annetteleonard.com find me on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/theannetteleonard About a year ago my pharmacy closed. I was ill-equipped for how disruptive this change was going to be. From none of my prescriptions transferring over automatically, to the new pharmacy hours, to how poor their communication is, there are a myriad of ongoing hassles that have been so frustrating in ways that I don't think many of my peers can relate to or understand. I get one prescription by mail. It's made me wonder whether I should get all my perceptions by mail? I spent several months researching. I didn't have any knowledge about mail order pharmacy. For those of us on anything more than 2 meds a day, I think mail order is worth considering. Especially for those who have difficulty filling their pill box, it's worth knowing that there are ways for those to be auto-filled, pre-packaged, pre-dosed, pill packs. There are a lot of variables to consider from price and availability to shipping times and other considerations. I'll talk about my exploration in my next video. **I have a new mini-course I'm finishing about how to unlock the power of your next doctor appointment*** the first 50 people get FREE enrollment. The Supreme Court of the United States stands as a neutral institution, entrusted with the solemn responsibility of safeguarding the principles enshrined in our nation's Constitution. However, recent events of ethical lapses and conflicts of interest have cast a somber shadow over this esteemed body, threatening to erode public confidence in its impartiality. Jesse Wegman from The New York Times urges that it is imperative that we address these concerns with unwavering resolve, ensuring that the highest court in the land upholds the utmost standards of integrity and independence.

Margaret Hoover hosts a forum at Hofstra University on whether America should abolish the Electoral College with writers Jesse Wegman and Trent England. Wegman, author of “Let the People Pick the President” and a member of The New York Times editorial board, makes the case that the current system is unfair and undemocratic, empowering a handful of swing states to decide who leads the whole country. England, who founded Save Our States and wrote “Why We Must Defend the Electoral College,” argues the Electoral College makes presidential campaigns both more national and more granular at the same time, forcing candidates to appeal to diverse factions of voters across the country who otherwise would have little influence. Wegman and England discuss the history of the Electoral College, the intent of the nation's founders, and how it all relates to slavery. They also debate the merits of a national popular vote and whether other reforms are possible, and they take questions from the student audience. Support for “Firing Line for Margaret Hoover” is provided by Robert Granieri, Vanessa and Henry Cornell, The Fairweather Foundation, The Tepper Foundation, Peter and Mary Kalikow, The Asness Family Foundation, The Beth and Ravenel Curry Foundation, Kathleen and Andrew McKenna through The McKenna Family Foundation, Charles R. FOOD INDUSTRY AND HARVEST NEWS: Daiya Cheese To Address Texture Issues With New Oat Cream Made Using Fermentation Daiya hopes to address the “inconsistency across the taste and texture,” of dairy-free cheese products. The new oat blend will be featured in shreds, slices, blocks and sticks of Daiya cheese. “Up until now, we know that the #1 thing holding the category back is that it hasn't delivered on consumers' taste expectations,” Melanie Domer, Daiya's chief commercial officer, said in an emailed statement to Food Dive. “Cheese is the ultimate comfort food, and as a result, there are high expectations.” -Source: Food Dive TODAY'S MAIN TOPIC: Imported “Grass-Fed” Beef Sold As Product Of The USA-Legally? American Grass Fed Beef Undercut By Foreign Competition Due To Obama COOL Law. The Grass-fed beef scam. Share of this market was 60% for US Cattle Farmers now 15% due to this law and cheap competition. Read-SCAM Bubba Foods, a Jacksonville, Florida-based company whose products are sold by major retailers like Walmart, Kroger, and Wegman's, puts its American-made claims front and center. The label on the company's grass-fed ground beef displays a prominent “Product of USA” banner, complete with an American flag—and, if that wasn't enough, the proud phrase “Born & Raised in the USA.” But paperwork filed with USDA, obtained by the American Grassfed Association and shared with me, suggests the product may not be American at all—at least, not in the conventional sense most shoppers would understand. From The Federal Register "We are proposing to amend the regulations governing the importation of certain animals, meat, and other animal products by allowing, under certain conditions, the importation of fresh (chilled or frozen) beef from Paraguay. Based on the evidence from a risk analysis, we have determined that fresh beef can safely be imported from Paraguay, provided certain conditions are met..." From White Oak Pastures: Today, thanks to the fact that there is no mandatory "Country of Origin" labeling law, consumers are consuming beef raised and slaughtered in these foreign countries under the guise that it's a product of the USA. Our beef imports come from all over the world, apparently now including Paraguay. Other countries we import from include, but are certainly not limited to: Brazil, Uruguay, Australia, Namibia, New Zealand, Mexico, Canada, Japan, China, and...the list continues. HOMESTEAD TSUNAMI: Crops That Store And Are High Calorie and Nutrient Dense: Potatoes can be stored over winter in a coolbox or root cellar Corn can be dried, frozen, ground, etc. Flint Corn, flour corn, dent corn Dry Beans-On average, you can grow 3-5 pounds per 100 square feet, but with the right techniques and proper use of vertical gardening, you can grow even more. Look for a Mexican variety Jimenez Pole Bean, its a terrific green bean, a shell bean, a dried bean… a large producer if you can find seed. Great video here about succotash. Green beans can be canned, frozen, and eaten all year long. Cabbage can be made into things like chow chow or sauerkraut, with loads of nutrition and flavor. Winter squash have loads of culinary versatility from pies to side dishes soups to stews, and can be canned frozen, or stored all winter in the root cellar Carrots of course are culinary superstars and store well in root cellar or can be frozen or canned. Onions & garlic are easy to grow and store well plus they can be frozen or dried. ECONOMIC NEWS: Recently France & Italy posted prints with deflation or falling prices. Even though we have been battling with inflation here food etc. things like cars, homes, fuel, and recreational equipment are all don considerably, good if you're a buyer, bad if you're a seller. What goes up must come down. PRODUCT RECOMMENDATION: Carbon Steel Pans-if you can get them properly seasoned they are wonderful and perform better than cast iron. I recommend Lodge or any French brand. CLOSING THOUGHTS: Buyer beware, best to shop for beef at local farms or suppliers who are vertically integrated and process on-farm, that is the best scenario. Hey girl, hey!Welcome back to another heart-to-heart session with your favorite co-hosts. We've missed you, and we can't wait to share the good vibes of Season 7: Episode 8 – 'Tis The Season. As always, we open with come love it or leave it moments. I'm feeling these Jalapeno Ranch potato chips by Ruffles they have just a hint of spice, and are a nice little crunchy snack. And Tennille shared that she's missing going to Wegman's now that she lives further out, but she's loving their fruit and custard tart. Clearly we were hungry last week (lol)From there we set the table. This episode's guiding passage is a powerful reminder from Ecclesiastes 3:1: "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven." Life is full of changes, just like nature's seasons, so we spent the hour exploring the significance of trusting the timing of our lives. We answer questions like, “How do you think about the different seasons in your life?” and “Do you struggle with trusting the timing when things don't go as planned?” And we get real about embracing waiting seasons, maintaining faith through unexpected turns, and reflecting on our personal winning seasons. Our prayer today is a beautiful acknowledgment of God as the master of time and the orchestrator of our seasons. We seek His guidance, patience, and unwavering faith in His divine plan. The we close with our weekly practice by inviting you to join us in a 'Seasons Reflection' exercise. Take a moment this week to reflect on your current season. Breathe, contemplate, and pray for understanding. Reinforce your trust in God's divine timing with a serene breathing exercise.Thank you for being a part of this journey with us. You are cherished, and your presence makes this podcast truly special. As we navigate the seasons of our lives together, may we find peace in knowing that God is with us every step of the way.Love, Maaden This is a public episode.
