Episode 15: Psilocybin Experiment On this fascinating episode of End of Days, The Michael Decon Program (on which Michael may or may not have consumed...well...something...) Michael's first guest was James W. Jesso, author of Decomposing the Shadow and The True Light of Darkness, Host of the ATTMIND Radio podcast. James shared his in-depth knowledge of psilocybin mushrooms and other hallucinogens, including their spiritual and healing properties. James W. Jesso is a public speaker author and public educator who pulls apart his psyche and weaving stories out of the process. Deeply versed in the psychedelic experience. His work draws on the wisdom and insight distilled in facing the turbulent reality of his own darkness. A very informative look into psychedelics and it's beneficial factors. In the second half of the program, the notorious Gary "the Mad Martian" Legierre joined Michael to share some shocking revelations about, you guessed it, Richard C Hoagland.

As the technology of virtual reality continues to progress, it is important that we look beyond the uses gaming companies, Facebook, and Samsung will develop it for. What happens when the capacity to build a completely immersive and convincing alternate reality lands in the hands of visionary artists and shamanic healers? For the new moon episode of ATTMind Radio, we welcome Dutch visionary artist Sander Bos to the show. Painter, musician, and reality-engineer, Sander has been exploring the potentials of art to awaken a sense of healing and enlightenment. He explores the role of the shaman as an artistic one and using virtual reality as his medium is seeking to create shamanic healing experiences in digital spaces. "I am fascinated in building with light [...] a zen garden, a kind of healing space in VR, so you can experience different states of consciousness and different healing experience" - Sander Bos See the full show notes and/or watch in video Support The Podcast PayPal Donation Patreon Other Options (including bitcoin)
We welcome Gay Dillingham to the April full moon edition of ATTMind Radio. Gay is an award-winning filmmaker and the director of Dying To Know: Timothy Leary and Ram Das. We have her on the show to talk about Timothy Leary and Richard Alpert (no known as Baba Ram Dass), who they were on the surface of history but also who they were as people, friends, and members of a larger community. For full show notes, head to http://bit.ly/ATTMindRadioEp45 We also talk about the process of making this film and why she felt telling the story of these two men was so important that she was willing to invest 19 years of her life into making it. (Also, how it was she got Robert Redford to narrate this film about counter-cultural heroes!) Personally, watching this film was perspective altering for me, which I talk about in the episode. Having been exposed to an intimate revealing of people whom I had only known as the legends that had come before me, was deeply meaningful. If you do, or don't know who these men are it's still a worthy listen, as, like Gay proclaims in the film, "whether you know them or not, chances are they changed your life". We have him on the show to talk about the science behind medicinal mushrooms, how to work with them, and how to do so without getting ripped off by hype marketing in the natural health product industry. We also get deep into the discussion on vibrational medicine and how mushroom essences can help us unearth and heal the dark wounds of the soul. James has done much work in the name of psychedelics, and more specifically mushrooms. He's written multiple books, and speaks at conferences around the world. He also hosts a podcast called ATTMind Radio where he speaks with people about these subjects as well. In this conversation James and I discuss how he was able to pull through a time in his life when he was abusing drugs very heavily. While living in Australia he found himself in addicted states with a slew of different substances, from LSD to speed to Valium. Mushrooms seemed to stand out as something different in the mix, and he eventually utilized them to help the underlying problem leading to his abusive behaviors. Another episode of ATTMind Radio has come to fruit and I am happy to announce the guest is Jef Baker. From his bio: Jef is a Cultural Studies and Communications graduate from Southern Cross University. His thesis ‘A Thread in the Vine-The Deep Ecology of Contemporary Ayahuasca Discourse’ played an important role in his rediscovering the plant medicine path. Jef’s research interests are now centred on exploring the ritual aspects of the psychedelic experience and how entheogenic plants inform people’s notions of self, agency, identity and community in postmodernity. A particular focus is how the integration process is critical in bringing about pragmatic change at the personal, cultural and social levels. Jef Baker and I initially met online and when I was blessed with the opportunity to be in Sydney, Australia to give a talk for the Sydney Spore, he and I met up for falafel and conversation. Starting with a discussion around the underlying themes and conflicts within the larger online Ayahuasca discourse, we quickly transition into discussing the somewhat elusive puzzle of what it means to 'integrate' one's psychedelic experiences. In particular, we discuss the role of community engagement and the difference between a change in perspective and a change in behavior. So you want to be enlightened? Well, here are 17 questions and answers about enlightenment from the professor, author, and host of The Entheogenic Evolution, Martin Ball Ph.D. Unlike other episodes of the podcast, this is not an interview between Martin and I. It is a reading of one of his essays. It was initially released on his podcast a few years ago, which is where I first heard it. Unfortunately, when I tried to find it in order to share it with some friends, I found it out it had been taken down. I felt this an important piece of work and thus messaged Martin and was granted his permission to release it through ATTMind Radio. It offers some highly relevant, albeit tough to swallow, information for people in spiritual culture. I was also given a bunch of Martin's artwork to play within the video. Although my video editing skills are amateur at best, his art is fresh. Enjoy the journey. The somewhat painful emergence out of the "Just Say No" fallacy of the Nancy Reagan DARE moment is underway at the cutting edge of festival and nightlife culture. In its place, Harm Reduction has come to the forefront as the next wave of drug education. But more than just drug education, Harm Reduction is a public health philosophy that basically says "people are gonna do risky things, might as well give them real, evidence-based information to at least make informed choices, so as to minimize risk". On this episode of ATTMind Radio, we feature Paul Brooks. He is a journalist and founding member of Calgary Party Safe, a not-for-profit harm reduction organization. He is also manager of a popular downtown club in Calgary, Alberta, Communication Director for Bass Coast Music Festival, and a super great guy. He is on the show to explore not only the philosophy and evolution of harm reduction but some practical information about staying safe when sampling psychoactives. In this episode of ATTMind Radio, we welcome Oliver Quintanilla, director of the documentary Little Saints. The tagline for his movie is "eat a mushroom, talk to God", so you can probably assume that the content of this episode will be interesting, to say the least. His film was truly one of the most vulnerable documentaries on psychedelics I have seen (and I've seen a lot). It was great to take a peak at the state of ceremonial use of psilocybin in contemporary Mexico. However, I wasn't prepared for was the potency of Catholicism that is present within it! It was great to pick Oliver's brain about the evolution of psilocybin's role in religious ceremonies in Mexico over the last few hundred years, the connection between "spiritual healing" and physical healing, why he made this movie, and what effect he has seen it produce throughout its screening tour. And of course, we talk about how he got into psilocybin and the role it played in his life growing up in Mexico. Historian and ordained Buddhist lama Mike Crowley joins us on ATTMind Radio this week to talk about his new book, The Secret Drugs Of Buddhism. We explore the historical origins of Buddhism and discuss the fabled Soma and Amrita as a concoction of psychedelics plants similar to that of Ayahuasca. We talk about the complex of connections between psychedelics in ancient civilizations and various scriptures of ancient Asianic traditions, contact of intelligent entities in the psychedelics realms, the connections between modern drug culture and evolution of Buddhism. Mike is a fantastic wealth of information and set me straight on a couple ideas I have been considering for a long while. This is a great podcast with lots of cool history. He is also funding the release of his book via Kickstarter, which ends on Feb 6, 2016. Don't miss your opportunity to help this book reach the world.
