You think, you feel, you are—but what if your consciousness isn't just in your brain? What if reality itself is shaped by something beyond the physical? In this episode, Mark Gober—author, consciousness researcher, and former Silicon Valley banker—joins Dave Asprey to challenge everything you think you know about the mind, reality, and human potential. He explores groundbreaking research on near-death experiences, psychic phenomena, and why some scientists believe consciousness may exist beyond the body. Mark reveals how declassified CIA documents, quantum physics, and meditation practices point to a deeper, more interconnected world—one where perception creates reality. If you've ever questioned whether free will is an illusion, wondered about life after death, or wanted to tap into higher states of awareness, this episode will shift your perspective. What You'll Discover in This Episode: • Is consciousness non-local? Why your brain might not be the source of your thoughts • Near-death experiences & life after death—the science and firsthand accounts • Psychic phenomena & remote viewing—what the CIA doesn't want you to ignore • Float tanks, meditation & altered states—how to access expanded awareness • The AI consciousness debate—can machines ever become truly self-aware? • Protecting your energy—why spiritual safeguards matter when exploring altered states SPONSORS -Our Place | Head to https://fromourplace.com/ and use the code DAVE for 10% off your order. -fatty15 | Go to https://fatty15.com/dave and save an extra $15 when you subscribe with code DAVE. Plunge was born out of optimistic vision during a challenging time. In March 2020, COVID-19 shut down Michael's float spas and with his newly found free time, he looked at the cold plunges on the market and found them shockingly expensive. Enlisting the help of his dad, they were determined to create a more affordable option. After countless iterations and improvements, the Plunge was born. A friendship turned into a powerful partnership when Ryan Duey came on board. Michael and Ryan have a common passion for cold plunging, floating, and building win-win relationships. After building the first 20 Plunges out of Michael's garage, they have since opened a factory in Sacramento and are sending Plunges all over the world!   Listen To Episode 562 As Ryan Duey Uncovers: [1:00] Float Tanks, Plant Medicine & Ice Baths Ryan Duey Get $150 off your Plunge order with the code 'WELLNESSFORCE' Capitol Floats The changes Josh is going through as a new parent and how doing cold plunges have really been helping him. Also, it gives me so much energy, clears my mind, and makes me feel incredible." - Ryan Duey   The Best Workout for the Nervous System "A cold plunge is the best workout for the nervous system. We work out to tear our muscles down and they build back stronger. By getting in the plunge, you're getting outside of your comfort zone, the adrenaline is increasing, and your mind begins to stress but you have the opportunity to completely override and go from a sympathetic state of fight or flight into being in full control of your breath. By doing that cold plunge, you have literally changed your whole body system in 2-3 minutes. Think about what that could mean in everything we do in life; that you are actually in control."  - Ryan Duey   How Cold Plunging Helps Heal Depression "On a time front, cold plunging is such a short commitment and when you're in a very depressed state, big things seem so unfathomable. If you have this in your house or a river right near you or you take a cold shower, there's a moment where spending time in cold water gives you a window to make a positive shift moving forward. Just spend 2 minutes or even take 10 breaths to help you open up out of your depression and start making the actionable steps when you feel stuck." - Ryan Duey   Links From Today's Show  Get $150 off your Plunge order with the code 'WELLNESSFORCE' Capitol Floats Temple of the Way of Light MAPS, the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies 210 Brad Burge 410 Mark Divine Wim Hof Dr. Andrew Weil Dr. Rhonda Patrick Dr. Andrew Huberman Dr. Rhonda Patrick on her cold plunge experience Scientific Evidence-Based Effects of Hydrotherapy on Various Systems of the Body The Kaufmann Protocol Vipassana Meditation – A Spartan Race For The Mind John C. He attended Cal Poly University where he spent a semester abroad in Barcelona. The experience was so impactful that after graduation, Ryan returned to Spain and spent the next two years living and working in Madrid. After Madrid, Ryan returned to the states and began working in the front office of the San Jose Earthquakes. Soon after, Ryan had what he calls his “greatest gift”: a head-on motorcycle accident in Thailand. This near death experience catapulted Ryan into a journey of self-inquiry, leading him to the jungles of the Amazon, the inside of a float tank, and a commitment to entrepreneurship in the Health and Wellness industry. While building Capitol Floats, Sacramento's Premier Float Center, Ryan traveled to Reboot Float Spa in the Bay Area with the hopes of meeting the owner, Mike Garrett. The two quickly became friends and business confidants. Now, six years later, Ryan and Mike are taking the next step together and have joined forces to create Plunge. Their mission is to make cold plunging as common as coffee. Ryan couldn't be more grateful and excited to be working alongside such an impressive human and building the team at Plunge.

Have you ever considered using biohacking techniques to optimize your mental performance and well-being? In this episode, Sean shares his journey into biohacking, floatation therapy, and nootropics, all in the pursuit of mental optimization. He shares his experiences with various tools and techniques, including floatation tanks, nootropic stacks, and even psychedelics. But are these methods right for everyone? Tune in to find out and explore the exciting world of biohacking and mental optimization.   Sean McCormick is a certified life and performance coach with an impressive client base, including NFL and MLS players, CEOs, and television stars. He is also the host of the highly regarded Optimal Performance Podcast. As an expert in performance biohacking, Sean has tested, studied, and applied numerous health and performance approaches for both himself and his clients. This extensive experience has allowed him to develop a keen understanding of how to achieve optimal results with minimal effort.   Sean's approach to coaching is focused on helping people improve rapidly with the least amount of work required. His impressive track record speaks for itself, and his clients have achieved remarkable success under his guidance.   Key Highlights: [00:01 - 10:25] Opening Segment ●     Sean shares his background and how he started his journey into biohacking and mental optimization. ●     He also shares his experience of opening a floatation therapy center, which combined his interests in biohacking, recovery, meditation, and altered states of consciousness. ●     He quit his high-paying job and invested all his money, time, and passion into opening the floatation therapy center. ●     He explains how this led him to his current role, where he enjoys doing what he loves every day.   [10:26 - 14:34] Floatation Tanks for Well-being and Meditation ●     Sean recommends trying floating in a floatation tank to improve their well-being and jumpstart their meditation practice. ●     He suggested trying floating three times, as the first time can be strange and distracting. ●     The best floats are after a hard workout when endorphins and dopamine are high. ●     Float tanks can be a great way to release muscle soreness and pain.   [14:35 - 36:41] Nootropic Experience, Neurochemistry, and Resistance Training ●     Sean discusses his experience with nootropics and his journey of experimentation with various substances, starting with Alpha Brain, then trying Modafinil and Rams. ●     He expresses skepticism towards proprietary blends and the potential dangers of buying substances on the dark web. ●     He eventually found a nootropic he liked called Neuro Fuel, which is from a company called Natural Stacks and is open source, meaning they know exactly what's in it. ●     Everyone has different neurochemistry, and there is a test called the Braverman assessment that can help individuals understand which of the four main neurotransmitters they are either dominant or deficient in. ●     He also suggests trying different nootropic stacks and tracking the effects to find the right ones for each individual. ●     He discusses the effectiveness of using the X3 bar for variable resistance training.   Key Quotes: “What works for you is not gonna be what works for me, and what works for you now might not be what worked for you six months ago because your neurochemistry is changing.” -Sean McCormick   “Everybody's different. Your neurochemistry, Nate, is different than mine.” -Sean McCormick   “The key here is to experiment with different nootropic stacks and then track it, keep a journal.” -Sean McCormick     CONNECT WITH SEAN:   Seanmccormick.com   @realseanmccormick on IG   https://bravermantest.net/   https://www.naturalstacks.com/products/neurofuel   Apollo tool  https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/clinically-proven-wearable-for-stress-sleep-sex-and/id1004775385?i=1000605068127   https://bioptimizers.com/shop/products/sleep-breakthrough   https://apolloneuro.com/products/apollo-wearable   Ketamine Episode - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/control-alt-delete-for-your-brain-with-ronan-levy-from/id1004775385?i=1000596368237   Book a free call with Sean calendly.com/coachseanmccormick   Getnatesbook - This book is a must-have for anyone looking to drop belly fat and eliminate love handles permanently with expert tips on the 7 daily investments for health and wealth, the one type of cardio you need to include, and a handy checklist to hold yourself accountable to your goals. It's always a hot topic - hair dye! A recent conversation on the Float Collective (a Facebook group for float center owners) sparked some great comments about what we should include in our hair dye policies. We invited Kat Roberts, owner of Surface Float in Canada, to join us and hash out the pros and cons of different policies, and what we should all know about how hair dye works - color molecules, stripping agents, and more! Kat breaks down her white towel test, performed on site with anyone whose hair may reek havoc on a float tank, and Kim shares why a blanket time-period based policy might only provide a false sense of security. Matt and Kelsey Elston are a brother and sister tag-team who together run and own Central Coast Floats in San Luis Obispo. Matt began his floating journey in 2013 when living in Seattle. Floating was recommended by a friend as a “cool new experience”, and as Matt got deeper into floating he began to notice shifts in his mental and physical state. Physically, Matt started feeling looser, most noticeably with his spine. Mentally, there was a noticeable sense of calm that settled into his psyche. He found that starting a day with a float caused him to view that entire day with a warmer lens. Things continued to progress from there and time in the float tank became a valuable resource for problem solving, contemplation, and meditation. Then, moving to San Luis Obispo, Matt had nowhere to float. And thus spawned the idea for Central Coast Floats. It became clear that help was needed to create the best possible float center…and his sister, Kelsey, came to the rescue. If you want to book yourself a float or just get connected with these two lovely humans, here's how you can find them:Website: centralcoastfloats.comInstagram: @centralcoastfloats

We discuss the immense benefits of floating on the human nervous system, Kevin's history with exploring states of consciousness and the float tank, psychedelics, and how holding a ceremony is similar to holding space for your podcast guest. Jason Maxwell, AKA J Max Fitness in the house for Round 2 of The Adonyx Podcast. He breaks down how his Instagram content is so easy to understand yet powerful, why he loves float tanks, meditation, and ways you can start lucid dreaming. The guys also talk about sleep — how much they get, how they get it, and why it's important.   Key Takeaways: [3:26] JMax keeps his Instagram, @JMax, super easy to read with tips and tricks people can start implementing right away for massive results. He keeps it updated daily and posts information from all over the spectrum of fitness that all levels can learn from. [5:50] Check out Connor's Instagram for a video of him and @britthertz covering all bases of a post that should go viral (hot girl, shirtless dude with muscles, crazy flips). Be sure to tag your friends. [7:50] If you want to lose fat, you have to be in the deficit either by eating less, or burning more calories. Cardio does have some benefits; it can be boring and time-consuming whereas it takes less effort to put yourself in a deficit by eating less. [13:29] Wingate sprints are one of the best ways to burn fat, maximize high-intensity cardio and create some major leg gains. [18:54] Both Connor and JMax love the Float Tank experience. The sensory deprivation aspect makes it easy to meditate, let your brain settle and be stimulation-free for a small amount of time. [25:51] JMax also has seen some major benefits from meditating and aims to do it at least 10 minutes every day. [28:59] Sleep is pretty much everything. We need it, and we are pretty messed up without it even for just a few days. Connor finds 8 hours of sleep a day, even if it's naps for 30-90 minutes. [32:33] Sleep cycles are made up of deep sleep, REM and light sleep. We need deep sleep to rest and relax and REM to have good memory and recall, and to stay sharp and focused. [35:02] Two side effects Connor notices when he doesn't get enough sleep are water retention, and feeling way hungrier. [50:24] Lucid dreaming hack: In your waking life, when you turn on and off the lights, ask yourself if you are dreaming and you will start to do the same in your sleep, leading to the ability to lucid dream.   Mentioned in This Episode: Connor Murphy Talks YouTube page: @ConnorMurphyTalks Brandon's YouTube page: @HighLifeWorkOut @KingKeto — Brandon Carter on Instagram @ConnorMurphyOfficial @JMax — send him a DM and let him know you listened!
