Richie joins me to share his 25 years of knowledge about the powerful psychedelic drug Iboga, A.K.A. Ibogaine. The substance has amazing properties when it comes to treating physical addiction to opiates specifically, such as heroin, Oxycontin, morphine, fentanyl, etc. But, as Richie points out, there's a lot more to kicking a heroin habit than just treating the physical addiction. It was a great conversation, thanks Richie!! Richie continues working with Iboga, and invites anyone interested to give him a call! Dick Khan joins me from England to discuss his personal research with the powerful psychedelic drug DMT, or dimethyltryptamine. It's the same ingredient in the Amazonian brew Ayahuasca. When smoked instead of brewed however, the experiences are fast and powerful. Many who have tried DMT report encountering entities of varying descriptions, and Mr. Khan is no different. He has had many of these such encounters and this is something we discuss in depth in this conversation. Many thanks to Dick Khan for the conversation and for agreeing to be on video for the first time! For someone who's been experimenting with a powerful psychedelic for so long, he is quite grounded and ready to laugh at his own perspective on these matters. Not taking oneself too seriously seems necessary when sharing these experiences, and also makes for a fun chat. Zach and his wife Jess join me to speak about the Ayahuasca retreats they host in Guatemala. We talk all things Ayahuasca, including Dietas, Traditional vs. Modern approaches, cost of retreats, and even the little fairy-like plant spirits called Doctorcito's (little doctors) who are called in to help people during ceremonies. First Zach joins me, and then halfway through Jess sits down to explain how she had the auto-immune condition rheumatoid arthritis and after medication made her worse, she found her way out through diet and ayahuasca. Sergey joins me a second time. He has a new book out called The Mescaline Confessions which details his experimentation with different substances as a young person. From using Ecstacy/MDMA for years, to trying a large dose of anti-psychotic pharmaceuticals. We talk about all this in the podcast, and eventually get to his present day work with the Huachuma cactus. He works in Peru with this substance, which contains Mescaline, as does Peyote. Some of the most interesting parts for myself in Sergey's book was his breakdown of Scientific Dogma so present in our culture today. He explains why he feels people have simply joined another team or religion, all the while thinking they are so much better than people in a church. It's a very worthwhile discussion to have these days! Check out Sergey's website: And use the Promo Code: "Truth" if buying his E-Book from his website. INSTAGRAM: TWITTER: www. John and I sit down to talk about different types of knowledge, and how we decipher the world around us. We discuss Self-Deception, Flow States, Mystical Experience, and where we go to find Wisdom and Meaning in our lives. John is a professor of Cognitive Science and Psychology at the University of Toronto. He's also studied in Buddhism and Tai Chi. He hopes to organize a psilocybin micro-dosing study at the University, and he talks about the difficulties in his way when it comes to getting a study like that approved. We really touch on a lot here, and John's passion and enthusiasm carries us through the conversation. Will joins me from Costa Rica to talk about his ideas integrating Buddhist practices with Marijuana use. Traditional Buddhism encourages abstinence from intoxicants. While Will does also teach in this traditional manner, he points to the Hindu God Shiva as an alternative representation of how the use of Marijuana can be very well suited to some of the physical practices Buddhists use. Much of our conversation is about how to use Marijuana effectively when it comes to the physical body and putting someone in tune with their movements and breathing, and out of the mind. We also talk about Ida Rolf and her philosophy behind Rolfing, and the practice of Gazing. Danny's latest book, Neuro-Apocalypse, deals with how individuals perceive things differently. He breaks this down in many ways, including how the Japanese language shapes the minds of those who speak it differently than English does. He's also studied autism, and the extreme cases of autistic savants who have perspectives on the world much different than the regular person. We talk about all of this in the podcast, in addition to Danny's research on the possibility of psychoactive drugs being used in the bible. There are multiple examples Danny points to that seem very plausible, notably the high priest in the tabernacle prophesizing by burning a number of substances in a tightly enclosed space. There is also manna, which is referred to by Moses, and seems to be described similarly to ergot. Ergot is of course what Albert Hofmann originally used to create LSD. It's all very fascinating! Phil and I sit down to record a conversation for a second time. The first time we began with Phil's own background and tumultuous time as a young man. This time around we dive right into the big ideas. All we knew beforehand was that we wanted to break down Spirituality and what that was. We end up speaking a lot about Language, how we separate ourselves from the world around us because of it, and why we are actually far more connected than many of us realize. Other subjects include respect, love, community, youth, truth, spirit, religion, and traditional teachings. To me, a big part of Phil's message is that we don't have to look so far and wide for what we seek, or what we feel we're missing. Each one of us are created whole. We're it. We are the miracle. When we ended this podcast I felt charged and happy for the rest of the day, and I think that was in large part due to that message really being honed in on in this podcast. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Thanks to Phil for being so open and willing to talk with me. INSTAGRAM: TWITTER: www. For 14 years Neil infiltrated drug gangs in the UK as an undercover operative. He spent 23 years total in the UK police force. He is now the chair for LEAP UK, which stands for Law Enforcement Against Prohibition. We talk about his many experiences posing as a drug addict and taking down drug dealers, and why he's switched sides in this drug war. Neil is open about how difficult it was to come to terms with how little good he actually did for his communities by going after these drug kingpins. He is also open about how coming to this realization contributed to his PTSD. Drug addiction is quite clearly a medical and social issue, not a criminal one. We discuss why police should be free to focus on other things, and that by keeping drugs illegal we are actually perpetuating violence, theft, and intimidation in our communities. We also touch on marijuana and the potential for some other psychedelic type of substances to be used for people's benefit, as well as political corruption, fear, and speaking out publicly.
