In this episode of Crazy Wisdom, host Stewart Alsop speaks with Ryan Estes about the intersections of podcasting, AI, ancient philosophy, and the shifting boundaries of consciousness and technology. Their conversation spans topics like the evolution of language, the impact of AI on human experience, the role of sensory interfaces, the tension between scientism and spiritual insight, and how future technologies might reshape power structures and daily life. Ryan also shares thoughts on data ownership, the illusion of modern VR, and the historical suppression of mystical knowledge. Listeners can connect with Ryan on LinkedIn and check out his podcast at AIforFounders.co.Check out this GPT we trained on the conversationTimestamps00:00 – Stewart Alsop and Ryan Estes open with thoughts on podcasting, conversation as primal instinct, and the richness of voice communication.05:00 – Language and consciousness, bicameral mind theory, early religion, and auditory hallucinations.10:00 – AI, cognitive ergonomics, interfacing with tech, new modes of communication, and speculative consciousness.15:00 – Scientism, projections, and authenticity; ownership of hardware, software, and data.20:00 – Tech oligarchs, Apple, Google, OpenAI, and privacy trade-offs.25:00 – VR, escapism, illusion vs. reality, Buddhist and Gnostic parallels.30:00 – Magic, Neoplatonism, Copernicus, alchemy, and suppressed knowledge.35:00 – Oligarchy, the fragile middle class, democracy's design, and authority temptation.40:00 – AGI, economic shifts, creative labor, vibe coding, and optimism about future work.45:00 – Podcasting's future, amateur charm, content creation tools, TikTok promotion.Key InsightsConversation is a foundational human instinct that transcends digital noise and brings people together in a meaningful way. Ryan Estes reflects on how podcasting revives the richness of dialogue, countering the flattening effects of modern communication platforms. The evolution of language might have sparked consciousness itself. Drawing on theories like the bicameral mind, Estes explores how early humans may have experienced internal commands as divine voices, illustrating a deep link between communication, cognition, and early religious structures.AI is not just a tool but a bridge to new kinds of consciousness. With developments in cognitive ergonomics and responsive interfaces, Estes imagines a future where subconscious cues might influence technology directly, reshaping how we interact with our environment and each other.Ownership of software, hardware, and data is emerging as a critical issue. Estes emphasizes that to avoid dystopian outcomes—such as corporate control via neural interfaces—individuals must reclaim the stack, potentially profiting from their own data and customizing their tech experiences.Virtual reality and AI-generated environments risk becoming addictive escapes, particularly for marginalized populations. Estes likens this to a digital opiate, drawing parallels to spiritual ideas about illusion and cautioning against losing ourselves in these seductive constructs. The suppression of mystical traditions—like Gnosticism, Neoplatonism, and indigenous knowledge—has led to vast cultural amnesia. Estes underscores how historical power structures systematically erased insights that modern AI might help rediscover or recontextualize.Despite the turbulence, AI and AGI offer a radically optimistic future. Estes sees the potential for a 10x productivity boost and entirely new forms of work, creativity, and leisure, reshaping what it means to be economically and spiritually fulfilled in a post-knowledge age.
Despite being the son of a pharmacist turned wine professional, I did not know the purpose of an Entheogen. Ross Halleck set me straight,so much so, that after defining an entheogen, the value of the consumption of wine became clearer. Ross Halleck doesn't just make wine—he might just ask you to close your eyes and seek the divine within a single glass. In this episode of Wine Talks, you'll be swept past the typical vineyard tales and deep into the spiritual and mystical roots of wine itself. You'll learn how Ross stumbled into the wine trade not through family legacy or grand ambition, but with the curiosity of a seeker and a penchant for unearthing life's mysteries. Paul and Ross unravel why, for some, wine is more than a social lubricant or status symbol; it's an “entheogen”—a conduit to something sacred. Discover how the trappings of wine culture, from magazine scores to over-intellectualization, can miss the magic entirely, and why Ross is on a mission to return wine to its ancient role: bringing people together, not driving them apart. You'll step inside his West Sebastopol vineyard and hear why he believes winning top awards means little if you can't connect with people's hearts. The conversation flows from digital reviews and the democratization of taste, to the pitfalls of marketing wine as pure commerce, to modern-day plant medicine ceremonies designed to foster self-discovery, belonging, and reverence. As the layers peel back, you'll come away with a fresh perspective on wine—not just as a beverage, but as a timeless link to the sacred, the mysterious, and the collective human story. And if you've ever wondered why a certain glass makes you feel something inexplicable, or why wine alone among drinks is revered across cultures and epochs, this episode offers more than an explanation—it offers an invitation to experience the “vine intervention” for yourself. The Psychedelic Entrepreneur - Medicine for These Times with Beth Weinstein
Robert Forte is a scholar of the history and psychology of religion, with a special focus on the ancient and modern use—and misuse—of psychedelic plants and drugs. He has studied and collaborated with many of the most seminal figures who first brought these substances to public consciousness since the 1940s, including Albert Hofmann, Gordon Wasson, Timothy Leary, Alexander Shulgin, Stanislav Grof, and others. His first book, Entheogens and the Future of Religion, was praised by Huston Smith as “the best single inquiry into the religious significance of psychedelics.” His second book, Outside Looking In: Appreciations, Castigations, Reminiscences of Timothy Leary, offers an intimate look at this controversial figure. In 1998, he republished an updated edition of The Road to Eleusis: Unveiling the Secret of the Mysteries by Gordon Wasson, Albert Hofmann, and Carl Ruck—a seminal text that initiated the inquiry into the role of entheogens in Western religion and philosophy.Over the years, Forte has manufactured MDMA before it was scheduled, conducted research into its clinical effects, and performed fieldwork in Peru studying the impact of ayahuasca on cancer patients. He has also maintained an underground practice utilizing various medicines for psychotherapy and spiritual exploration.Around 20 years ago, his interests shifted toward the sociology of psychedelic experience, where he has developed a somewhat controversial perspective on how these substances entered modern consciousness. He argues that the history of psychedelics, much like the history of religion, contains both the best and worst of humanity. Without acknowledging and integrating its shadow aspects, he warns, we risk becoming victims of them.Episode Highlights▶ How early psychedelic experiences profoundly influenced individual perspectives.▶ How the 1980s saw a resurgence in psychedelic research following prior suppression.▶ MDMA's shift from therapeutic tool to illegal substance exemplifies drug policy complexities.▶ Government drug policies and how they often prioritize control over public health.▶ The psychedelic narratives that are often entangled with conspiracy theories and misinformation.▶ How psychedelics offer potential for consciousness expansion, but require careful integration to avoid pitfalls like spiritual bypassing.▶ The Controlled Substances Act and how it's rationality is widely questioned.▶ How despite illegality, MDMA's popularity grew, reflecting societal interest.▶ The societal impact of psychedelics is multifaceted, demanding ethical consideration.▶ Why meaningful change requires applying psychedelic insights to daily life, beyond mere experience.Robert Forte's Links & Resources▶ Website: alteredstatesofamerica.net▶ Substack: alteredstatesofamerica.substack.com▶ Facebook: https://web.facebook.com/robert.forte.79 Download Beth's free trainings here: Clarity to Clients: Start & Grow a Transformational Coaching, Healing, Spiritual, or Psychedelic Business: https://bethaweinstein.com/grow-your-spiritual-businessIntegrating Psychedelics & Sacred Medicines Into Business: https://bethaweinstein.com/psychedelics-in-business▶ Beth's Coaching & Guidance: https://bethaweinstein.com/coaching ▶ Beth's Offerings & Courses: https://bethaweinstein.com/services▶ Instagram: @bethaweinstein ▶ FB: / bethw.nyc + bethweinsteinbiz ▶ Join the free Psychedelics & Purpose Community: / psychedelicsandsacredmedicines

Tommy Cowan is currently a PhD student in the Literature, Media, and Culture program at Florida State University. His primary interest is the confluence between literature and esotericism, including how literatures/texts are conceptualized as esoteric ritual, and the reception/transmission of literary esotericism as an intellectual tradition. He received his MA in Religious Studies from University of Amsterdam (2019), graduating Cum Laude. His 2019 master's thesis centers around spirituality and esotericism in the works of American author William S. Burroughs. He is also an Associate Editor for Correspondences: Journal for the Study of Esotericism. As this discussion was centered on research updates, we cover a range of topics- but highlighting a few here: We start with Tommy's research on Burroughs that grew out of Tommy's work with Florida State University's archive complied by Professor Bucher. Just a head's up – our discussion is mature in nature, so listener discretion is advised, as they say. We cover two of Tommy's papers- one that deals with sexual hanging as something that Burroughs was trying to read in an esoteric sense; the other deals with the tension between Burroughs' misogyny and his ‘feminine' coded texts, which leads into a related topic of transgenderism and alchemy, and circling back to sexual metaphors with brief tangents into Wilhelm Reich's orgone energy and David Lynch's atomic bomb scene in Twin Peaks: The Return. After all that, we move on to the concept of ‘normative esotericism,' as Tommy is looking at ways in which esoteric philosophies and thought reinforce hegemonic normative culture. Lastly, Tommy talks about his new research into how animals enter into symbiotic relationships with plant and fungi substances, plus how we can analyze our own relationship to entheogens.Check out my Patreon page for the full interview! Click here to send me your Q's, comments, lovenotes, or a quick message here :) I'll be the first to admit that it irks me when people use the term "plant medicine" to refer to psychedelics, or what perhaps could be more properly termed "entheogens."First of all, half of those are isolated compounds that are created in labs (perhaps originally derived from plants, but not always) and others are derived from fungi or animal compounds. Like, they aren't even all sourced from plants. And I don't love the usurping of a name that I've been using for almost 2 decades to refer to my love of the practice of people's medicine, or herbal medicine. That said, I'll also openly acknowledge that psychedelics and entheogens have been a significant part of my path TO herbal medicine. And to healing arts overall. And to nature connection before that. They are profound and powerful and I deeply respect them. I just think we need to be more precise about what we're talking about. Today's guest Allison Avalon shares about her relationship with entheogens and how, alongside silent meditation and foundational nutrition and lifestyle practices, they have had an immeasurable impact on healing her wombspace, jaw, and overall anxiety and depression. Her story starts in a place of deep suffering in a spiral of anxiety and depression, intense jaw clenching she'd bite into her cheeks and intense menstrual pain -- and while she was seeking answers she found powerful entheogens that changed her entire life, partly by facing death -- and what she calls "death practice."We talk about all of this and how free and relaxed the flow of energy is through her body. How she no longer has menstrual pain or jaw clenching AT ALL. It's really an inspiring and hopeful story full of so much wisdom. Part 1 of Episode 150! Yay!! And now for something completely different. This episode is a bit of a departure from our regular show. We invite Alex Criddle and Cody Noconi, researchers into the psychedelic origins of Mormonism, to respond to the recent debate on the Mormon Book Reviews channel between ourselves and Mormon apologist, Brian Hales. Brian attempts to provide the apologetic response to the theory that Joseph Smith utilized psychedelics (entheogens) in the early history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in order to facilitate visionary experiences for the early Saints. Disinformation requires much greater effort than simply stating information so we do our best to debunk his debunking (rebunk the theory?). This one is a long haul so we split it into 2 episodes to make it a little more digestible. Smith was a prophet of the RLDS Mormons and paternal grandson of the founder Joseph Smith. In 1918 Frederick published this Ph.D. dissertation breaking down altered states of consciousness from an early psychologist's perspective, specifically, religious states of ‘ecstacy' as he called it. A lengthy chapter devoted to peyote is particularly worth reading. “The Higher Powers: Fred M - Smith and the Peyote Ceremonies” - Shelby Barnes' 1995 paper highlighting the curious psychedelic interests of Frederick M. Smith. While Barnes does not make any direct connections to Joseph Smith and psychedelics, Barnes does note that Frederick's interests were an attempt to find the reliable keys to visionary revelation that his grandfather Joseph had demonstrated. “Restoration and the Sacred Mushroom” - Dr. Robert Beckstead's seminal research paper presented at the August 2007 Sunstone Symposium. Beckstead's paper was the first to propose the possibility that Joseph Smith used psychedelics to facilitate visionary experiences. “A 1920's Harvard Psychedelic Circle with a Mormon Connection: Peyote Use amongst the Harvard Aesthetes” Alan Piper's 2016 paper highlighting Frederick M. Smith's interest in psychedelics, and how as a standing Mormon prophet Fred was funding a 1920s group of Harvard students with peyote. “Revelation Through Hallucination: A discourse on the Joseph Smith-entheogen theory” - Bryce Blankenagel and Cody Noconi's 2017 follow-up paper further explores the hypothesis originally put forward by Dr. Robert Beckstead a decade earlier. “The Entheogenic Origins of Mormonism: A Working Hypothesis” - Dr. Robert Beckstead, Bryce Blankenagel, Cody Noconi, and Michael Winkelman's paper published in the Journal of Psychedelic Studies in June 2019. This was the first paper on the subject published in an academic journal. “Visions, Mushrooms, Fungi, Cacti, and Toads: Joseph Smith's Reported Use of Entheogens” Brian Hales' 2020 response paper to the one published in the Journal of Psychedelic Studies. As a believing Mormon engaged in academic apologetics, Hales details what he perceives to be holes in the proposed hypothesis. “The Psychedelic History of Mormonism, Magic, and Drugs” - Cody Noconi's book published in 2021. “Psychedelics as a Means of Revelation in Early and Contemporary Mormonism (Part 1)” Alex Criddle's 2023 paper that was originally presented at the Forms of Psychedelic Life conference at UC Berkeley (April 14-15, 2023). “Psychedelics as a Means of Revelation in Early and Contemporary Mormonism (Part 2)” A continuation of Alex Criddle's 2023 paper. “A Real Spiritual High: In Defense of Psychedelic Mysticism” An enlightening philosophical essay from Alex Criddle. Part 2 of Episode 150! Show notes: Video version: https://youtu.be/3l0L1EHtQOo Support our research and outreach: https://www.patreon.com/SeerStonedProductions Original here: Psychedelics & Early Mormonism Theory Brian Hales Responds on Mormon Book Reviews https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uE7J0y_cPpg Further information: “The Higher Powers of Man” - Frederick M. Guest: Mike Marinacci, author of Psychedelic Cults and Outlaw Churches: LSD, Cannabis, and Spiritual Sacraments in Underground AmericaMike is an independent expert on psychedelic spiritual groups and nontraditional American religious sects. He is also the author of California Jesus and Mysterious California, and coauthor of the bestselling Weird California. And he lives in the San Francisco Bay Area in California, USA.In this very engaging conversation, Mike starts by talking about what inspired him to write this book, and then we jump into discussing several of the major psychedelic groups he discusses in his book. A few highlights of our interview: The Native American Church and their struggle to receive legal permission from the United States government to use peyote in their rituals; how non-indigenous people also tried to gain this legal permission for their own churches; the highly eventful life of Timothy Leary and his engagement with LSD, and his later League for Spiritual Discovery; the forerunner to satirical groups such as the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, the Neo-American Church; the introduction of ‘crisis response' help with the use of LSD by the Church of Naturalism; the switch to the use of legal drugs by the Church of the Tree of Life; the success of the Ethiopian Zion Coptic Church with the Rastafarians, and the downfall of the Church after the group became too highly involved in drug trafficking; and the complicated efforts to profit commercially from the use of entheogens by the present-day Ayahuasca Healings group.PROGRAM NOTESWorks by/ co-authored by Mike Mariancci:Psychedelic Cults and Outlaw Churches: LSD, Cannabis, and Spiritual Sacraments in Underground America: Marinacci, Mike: 9781644117071: Amazon.com: BooksEerie California: Strange Places and Odd Phenomena in the Golden State: Marinacci, Mike: 9781579512514: Amazon.com: BooksCalifornia Jesus: A (Slightly) Irreverent Guide to the Golden State's Christian Sects, Evangelists and Latter-Day Prophets - Kindle edition by Marinacci, Mike. This episode of the 'Psychedelic Coach' podcast dives deep into the importance of safety and the concept of integration in relation to psychedelic experiences. Safety is emphasized as not just a concept but as a fundamental cornerstone in the field of psychedelic therapy. It includes discussions around the definition of violence, its role in disrupting wholeness, and how it relates to the concept of 'safety'. The host also elaborates on trauma, considering it a creative response to violence and disruptions to wholeness. The Four IN's process is introduced, which comprises Intake, Intention, In Space, and Integration - a form of a consistent and intentional integration that is always happening but is often overlooked. The episode emphasizes that while everyone integrates, how this is done is optional. The podcast ultimately links these ideas back to psychedelics and how they can disintegrate old habits, allowing for new, intentional integration. 00:01 Introduction to the Psychedelic Coach Podcast 00:09 The Importance of Safety in Psychedelic Experiences 01:17 Understanding the Concept of Safety 02:09 The Impact of Safety on Healing 02:18 Defining Safety in the Context of The Condor Approach 03:01 Understanding the Difference Between Hurt and Harm 03:24 Introducing the 7 Attributes of Violence 03:52 Understanding Violence and Its Impact 07:34 Exploring the Concept of Trauma 10:21 The Role of Grief in Trauma 14:04 Understanding the Difference Between Safety and Security 15:29 Exploring the Concept of Vulnerability 18:27 Introducing the Three P's Concept 18:52 The Power of Pause: A Condor's Eye View 19:50 The Three Ps: Pause, Pull Back, Physical Scan 20:54 The Art of Full Body Scan 21:28 Audience Interaction and Feedback 22:34 The Evolution of the Condor Approach 23:07 The Four Ns for Integration 26:38 The Integration Wave: A Visual Representation 32:54 The Role of Psychedelics in Disintegration and Integration 34:32 The Cost of New Things: Letting Go of the Old

Episode 104: Entheogens with Christian Rasmussen Ethnobotanicals are a fascinating and diverse group of plants that have played an important role in human cultures for centuries. From providing us with food and shelter to medicine and spirituality, plants have been an integral part of our lives since the beginning of human civilization. Entheogens are drugs/plants/medicine that give you a spiritual experience. The word entheogen literally means “creating the divine within,” and is derived from the Greek roots en (within) theo (divine) and gen (creates). Entheogens have been used by indigenous peoples for millennia for “healing, knowledge, creativity, and spiritual connection. Christian Rasmussen is the owner of Minnesota Nice Ethnobotanicals, the largest Amanita muscaria retailer, wholesaler and importer in the country. After Amanita healed his brain while going through a grueling benzodiazepine withdrawal, Christian formed MN Nice to bring Amanita to the states. He's collected thousands of anecdotal reports about amanita healing everything from anxiety, insomnia, and depression to more complex physical issues like neurological late-stage Lyme disease. He is dedicated to educating about the mushrooms' healing, spiritual, and practical potential, and giving people access to this most iconic, yet most misunderstood mushroom in the world. We spend our time talking about Amanita Muscaria along with some other ethnobotanicals and entheogens and their healing effects as well as mind expanding aspects. ORIGINAL AIR DATE: Feb. 14, 2017This episode focuses on entheogens—psychedelic drugs that are known to cause “mystical states” of consciousness. Our hosts discuss Rick Strassman's work on DMT, but that is merely a subset of entheogen study. Current research in the fields of brain science, psychology, and religion are struggling to explain how entheogens and the experiences they cause should be understood. The dilemma of consciousness, more popularly known as the mind-body problem, is at the heart of the struggle. Do entheogens simply affect part of the brain and its chemistry triggering new states of consciousness from inside your head? Or do these drugs separate consciousness from the organ of the body we call the brain, verifying that consciousness is distinct from the brain? Are God and other supernatural beings experienced by people under the effect of entheogens just a product of the brain, or are they entities to be experienced by unhindered consciousness?Articles:Peter Bebergal, “Mystics Under the Microscope,” Search Magazine (January-February 2009): 35-39Ron Cole-Turner, “Entheogens, Mysticism, and Neuroscience,” Zygon, vol. 49:3 (September 2014): 642-651Leonard Hummel, “By its Fruits? Veteran's Day is a day of remembrance and gratitude. Join us today with special guest Justin LaPree, a decorated US Marine Veteran and a former Austin, Texas firefighter who has found healing and hope. After returning home from the Middle East, he struggled with a TBI, PTSD, and survivor's guilt, enduring everything from homelessness to opioid dependence. In 2018, he attempted suicide in the parking lot of his Austin, Texas, fire station. After his failed attempt, a friend suggested he read Michael Pollan's How to Change Your Mind. After several experiences with sacred fungi and plant medicines, Justin's lost memories resurfaced, his suicidal ideation ceased, his PTSD diminished, and along the way, he rediscovered the truest form of himself. After 15 years of losing friends to suicide, Justin was determined to create a safe and sacred container for healing, connection, and transformation. In 2022, he founded Heroic Path to Light, a Texas-based nonprofit entheogenic church serving the veteran, first responder, and Gold/White star communities. Heroic Path to Light is currently guiding a courageous group of ten female veterans through a transformative 25-week program, with a pivotal week-long in-person retreat that concluded on October 20th. This retreat, specifically designed for women who have endured the traumas of sexual assault, provided a sanctuary for healing, self-discovery, and communal support. Within this sacred space, the participants engaged with ancient entheogenic practices, allowing for profound emotional and spiritual healing. As they continue their journey through the remainder of the program, these women are supported in integrating their experiences from the retreat into their daily lives. The commitment to nurturing a powerful sisterhood empowers participants to process and transcend their trauma, forging a path toward resilience and a renewed sense of purpose. In this episode, we cover the following:Justin shares his struggles, misdiagnosis, and journey as a Military Veteran. He reflects on the common experiences of veterans and first responders, emphasizing the importance of addressing mental health in these communitiesThe transformative psilocybin experience led to the creation of the "Heroic Path to Light."The organization was established to provide legal psychedelic therapies in the United States under the guise of a religious institution, utilizing legal protections for religious freedom.Heroic Path to Light's program is comprehensive, spanning 25 weeks and catering to veterans, first responders, and their families, with a focus on accessibility and affordability. The women's program addresses issues of sexual trauma and abuse among female veterans, emphasizing empowerment and healing. The organization's future plansHelpful links:Heroic Path to Light helps veterans, first responders, and Gold/White Star families heal, transform, and find purpose through community, connection, and sacred psychedelic medicine retreats. Their retreat experiences are enriched by comprehensive preparation and integration, and they foster a community where mutual understanding and shared experience thrive. Although prohibited in most of the today's world, cannabis and humanity have a shared history that extends far back into ancient times. Evidence of its role in the production of cloth and rope goes back more than ten thousand years. Its psychoactive properties have also long been known by humanity, and ancient man attributed a supernatural force behind such effects. Archaeological evidence of cannabis ritual use of cannabis dates back to 3500 BCE, and it became considerably widespread. Egyptians, Assyrian, Babylonian and Persians used cannabis in Temple rituals, and for medical purposes, as has long been acknowledged, . Although, it has generally been seen that the neighbours of these cultures, the ancient Hebrews, whose religious history was recorded in the Bible's Old Testament and the Hebrew Tanakh, rejected these practices. However, in 1936, a little known Polish anthropologist and etymologist put forth the controversial hypothesis that the Hebrew words, kaneh and kaneh bosm, identified cannabis, and had been mistranslated as calamus. This linguistic suggestion drastically changes the story of the Bible in a number of ways, but it seemed destined to be an obscure linguistic hypothesis, until 2020, when evidence from a 2,800 year old temple site in tel Arad, Jerusalem confirmed the ritual use of cannabis Among the ancient Hebrews.Chris Bennett has been researching the historical role of cannabis in the spiritual life of humanity for more than a three decades. He is co-author of Green Gold the Tree of Life: Marijuana in Magic and Religion (1995); Sex, Drugs, Violence and the Bible (2001); and author of Cannabis and the Soma Solution (2010); Liber 420: Cannabis, Magickal herbs and the Occult (2018); and Cannabis: Lost Sacrament of the Ancient World (2023) . He has also contributed chapters on the historical role of cannabis in spiritual practices in books such as The Pot Book (2010), Entheogens and the Development of Culture (2013), Seeking the Sacred with Psychoactive Substances (2014), One Toke Closer to God (2017), Cannabis and Spirituality (2016) and Psychedelics Reimagined (1999). This is one of the most fascinating discussions I have had this year. For centuries, people have speculated as to the formulation of the legendary substance of the Gods known as soma. It's something I have kept my eye on for a couple of decades now. And, as far as I can tell, Dr Etminan's research is the best pointer in the direction of what that might have been. Even better than that? His research has developed into a completely legal product you can try for yourself today. In this show, we explore exactly who the Zoroastrian Magi were, what customs and beliefs fed into their practices and what haoma might have been and how it was used. Then we'll explore Shauheen's journey toward the development and release of the Ancestral Magi products and how they can be used today. I am particularly excited to see these in the hands of visionary astrologers. Have at it! Brilliant stuff. Enjoy! Show Notes Get the Ancestral Magi supplements here. The truth about Christian Nationalism, is that it is a Psychological Operation, similar to one that our own US Government crafted in the post-WW2 era, when corporatism fueled a new brand of American Christianity that fused Faith and Government NOT to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ, but rather to recruit young impressionable minds into joining the military and defend western civilization against communism! In the 75 years since these programs were installed, the culture has shifted much more secular with the rise of a nebulous Scientific Dictatorship and Technocracy influencing DC. Now, already over a fifth of the way through the 21st Century, a new mobilization effort has been under way. A manufactured civil war between those who are willing to die to defend the mythologized Christian America born in the post-WW2/Cold War era, against those willing to die for occult mythologies expressed as abominable progressive politics like Climate Change, Trans-Rights, and Democratic Socialism. Even worse, it appears those in control would like to eradicate the belief in Christianity by labelling the topic of Christian Nationalism as a Mental Health issue! This will lead to a western version of “re-education camps” but through “spiritual” experiences facilitated by Big Pharma 2.0 who will leverage Entheogens as well as Immersive VR tech to treat Christian Nationalism. Here are some main points to be made in this episode about the TRUTH of Christian Nationalism: Christian Nationalism is a nuanced conversation that can only happen with clearly defined terms. Christian Nationalism seems to be a psychological operation that creates both defender AND enemy of the state! (Perfect vehicle to dismantle the United States, divide and conquer) Christian Nationalism will profile anyone [mostly Christians] who believe in any kind of Biblically based Eschatology as a “terrorist” and “extremist” who are “threats to Democracy”! Christian Nationalism will be treated as a Mental Health disorder; Perfect candidates for the rise of psychedelic and virtually enhanced psycho therapies. In episode 225 of "The Psychedelic Coach Podcast" titled "Uncertainty About Next Steps" with Tah, the discussion revolves around the importance of integration and taking actionable steps after a psychedelic experience. Tah emphasizes the significance of tracking and journaling as part of the integration process. He introduces a method of journaling that involves spending 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes in the evening to track thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Tah highlights the value of tracking, stating that without tracking, it becomes challenging to bring about change. Tah also discusses the need for structure in integration, suggesting that structured approaches can be helpful. He introduces the FREE Downloadable Condor Approach Integration Guide (Hardcopies also available on Amazon) for journaling and encourages listeners to engage in tracking and journaling to develop a clear plan for themselves, not only after psychedelic experiences but in various aspects of their lives. The importance of capturing nuances and exploring new possibilities that emerge from psychedelic experiences is emphasized. Tah emphasizes the role of writing down these insights and ideas, as they can easily be forgotten if not recorded. By having them in front of oneself on a day-to-day basis, it becomes possible to expand upon them and create an action plan that supports personal growth and transformation. The episode also discusses conducting a state assessment to understand one's thoughts, actions, and emotions in different situations. Tah explains the "oppression trap triangle" and how individuals can get stuck in limiting strategies and states. By identifying these patterns and utilizing strategies such as vision boards, setting milestones, and forming a life team of supportive individuals, individuals can create a clear strategy for moving forward and achieving personal goals. Additionally, Tah briefly touches upon the importance of nutrition and electrolyte balance after a psychedelic experience, suggesting the inclusion of quality fats and mindful water consumption. Overall, Tah emphasizes the importance of integration, tracking, journaling, and creating structured strategies to support personal growth and transformation after psychedelic experiences. Plant medicine, psychedelics, Christianity, spirituality. For the past year, I've been engrossed in how those topics fit together, if and how I want to incorporate those practices and concepts into my life, and what I want to share with you if you're also looking to sort through things yourself. What has been particularly helpful in this process of thought and study is talking to (and reading books written by) other people who are also on this reflective journey. Paul Risse is one of those people. Paul first joined me on the podcast "The Christian Psychedelic: Should Christians Use Plant Medicines, Is Microdosing (Or Tripping) A Sin, Accessing Spiritual Realms, DMT & Much More With Paul Risse & Ben Greenfield." Today, Paul is back. Paul is also the CEO of Cleanse America, where he has led 10,000 people through a cleansing process over two years, writing numerous eBooks, producing videos, and orchestrating each of these cleanses. He built his own house without experience going into the process, and he wrote a book about the journey called "Kinda Tiny Home, An Unorthodox Approach to Building and Owning Your Own Home." Perhaps most relevant to today's show, Paul took psychedelics around 1,000 times over a decade, including DMT, Salvia, 2CB, 2CI, and LSD, though 99% of what he engaged in was mushrooms. Paul recently released a book called "The Psychedelic Christian," which is part art, free verse, poetry, Bible verses, spirit realm exploration, testimony, and Holy Spirit encounters. Often times these thoughts come down to set and setting or the mindset before and how we prepare for the experience. That's just a simple point of communication with yourself and you can remind yourself, 'Hey, challenging experiences happen. You are safe in this container... ...Do note and this is very important: you should not do a psychedelic if you are pre-disposed to schizophrenia or something similar. Assuming that has been vetted, these are more or less physiological safe substances and even if some thoughts or emotions come up in an experience." - Paul Austin Let Your Emotions Be Freely Expressed "If something comes up for you in a psychedelic experience, what you need to focus on is: Surrender, allow, accept, and breathe. Because often times the challenge that comes up in a psychedelic experience is when we try to block, suppress, or constrict when we really just need to allow all of these emotions that we normally repress: sadness, shame, anger or guilt to come to the surface." - Paul Austin How to Heal Our Soul Sickness with Unconditional Love "There's a sense of existential malaise and some level of soul sickness that we now have in Western society. It happens for us because the things that we've been conditioned to find value in from the house that we buy to the car that we drive to the trophy wife to the sports teams that we were stars of in high school have all been such a big part of the mainstream narrative but people are now understanding just how sick we are because of this... ...A lot of people will go into plant medicines or psychedelics because they have depression, PTSD, anxiety, or they're struggling with addiction. Sometimes they go into it because maybe they want to be a better parent or they want to be more creative or they want to be a better leader. Whatever the external thing is and what I often find, which is just as true for myself, is there is some level of soul sickness there that we're asking for help with. Plant medicines are a phenomenal tool for healing that soul sickness because what they allow us to experience is unconditional love." - Paul Austin Links From Today's Show Microdosing Mini Course Microdosing Psychedelics: A Practical Guide to Upgrade Your Life by Paul Austin The Third Wave Podcast Third Wave's Mushroom Grow Kit The Synthesis Institute RUNGA Feel Free by Botanic Tonics - Save 40% with code 'WELLNESS40' Joe Rogan Tim Ferriss Food of the Gods: The Search for the Original Tree of Knowledge: A Radical History of Plants, Drugs, and Human Evolution by Terence McKenna Tao Te Ching: The Book of the Way by Lao Tzu 462 Ben Greenfield: Should You STOP Using Plant Medicines? Mastering this skill is crucial in the story of humanity's present-future evolution. In cultivating this emerging framework, his vision is to help facilitate our society's transition from a competitive, zero-sum mindset to a collaborative, social entrepreneurial approach. One that re-integrates purpose and meaning into the workplace, establishing the truth of interconnectedness between our personal values and professional pursuits. It is his belief that psychedelics will act as a major technological tipping point in facilitating this transition, helping Western culture to step into a ‘new story' that is based on interconnectedness, abundance, and harmony. Healing with Microdosing Currently, he is a leading voice on the use of psychedelics for personal growth, creative insight, and professional transformation. As an early adopter of microdosing, a practice now widespread in tech and entrepreneurial circles, he landed on an inspiring vision to bridge the wisdom of plant medicines with the world of creativity and technology: When used with intention and reverence, plant medicines fundamentally shift the perspective of those in leadership positions, leading to harmony between personal well-being and professional success. Sharing Microdosing with Third Wave + Synthesis Paul has founded two companies in the emerging psychedelic space, Third Wave and Synthesis. He is currently the CEO of Third Wave. He leads Third Wave's Coaching Certification Program, and also hosts Third Wave's podcast. Outside of these activities, his focus is largely on coaching and training, as well as public speaking. Because of his work at the intersection of psychedelic use, personal transformation, and professional success, he has been featured in the BBC, Forbes, and Rolling Stone. When not working, he enjoys hiking, reading, cycling, and the occasional acid trip. A Year-Long MICRODOSING EXPERIMENT- Janet Chang + Third Wave
Earlier this summer, as you probably heard if you've been following me, I declared that plant medicines were a "big problem"... …and that after a great deal of study, contemplation, and prayer, I decided to put up some big ol' warning signs against the use of mind-altering substances, especially considering their widespread abuse and potential for psychological harm, but perhaps of more concern, the increasing trend to put one's faith for healing, trauma, relationship work, self-discovery, divination, spiritual awakening, and anything of the like in drugs instead of in God. I also feel that it's my God-given responsibility to educate you on why I made this choice, in the hope not necessarily that you also stop but that you can make an informed decision for yourself. For (many) more details about this topic, you can read the two-part article series that I published in June and listen to my more recent podcast with Josh Trent: The Big Problem With “Plant Medicines”: Part 1 The Big Problem With “Plant Medicines”: Part 2 The Pros And Cons Of Plant Medicines, The Truth About Pharmakia, Spiritual Growth & Much More With Josh Trent Of Wellness + Wisdom. Social media is another important pathway for me to offer thoughts and prompt discussion on this popular topic. My Instagram post announcing my decision in June earned more than 2,500 likes and a wide range of responses in the form of comments, which I appreciate because I put my views out there honestly, and I want you to, also, even if they don't line up with what I'm saying. I don't hold back on my Twitter feed either, which has more than 88,000 followers. Last year, Twitter launched Twitter Spaces, an online forum for live audio conversations. Spaces are another cool way for me to have open and unfiltered discussions about different topics that are on my mind. This latest Twitter Space audio – graciously hosted by @AncestralVril and joined by @CenterHps and @ReclaimMind - goes even deeper into how I got to where I am today with my stance on plant medicine, which, for all its nuance, really comes down to a single belief: you just don't need drugs to talk to God or hear His voice or seek His direction. This was a Q&A that was open to many voices, so you'll hear many opinions other than mine, and I think you'll find the wide range of views quite beneficial for better understanding this topic.
