Buffy S2 E22: "Becoming (Part 2)"/Gilmore Girls S2 E22: "I Can't Get Started" This one's a little long, guys - big season finales with some big reveals and some fantastic acting from our leading ladies. Buffy, Lorelai and Rory must all decide between with being with the men they love and sacrificing their wants for the greater good, or in Rory's case settling for Dean. Get ready for some controversial opinions on Xander's betrayal AND "Oy, with the poodles already!" Neither of us totally get or like the whole Whistler/Rune thing. Bryan somehow saw a bunch of Gilmore Girls kissing scenes that Stacey totally missed. Gilmore S2 E21: "Lorelai's Graduation Day"/Buffy S2 E21: "Becoming (Part 1)" Rune is back! But he's switched shows? Both episodes take a trip to NYC, so Bryan and Stacey take this opportunity to couplesplain the city to ya. While a brief call from Jess convinces Rory to skip a momentous occasion to go to New York, a cryptic conversation with a stranger convinces Angel to skip his rat lunch to go to LA. We remember a time when it was possible for no one in a group of 4 to be carrying a camera. And though we admire his strong instincts for what to do with boob blood, David Boreanaz's Irish accent is uh... bad! And who knew Seth MacFarlane hated rich people so much?Bryan's sketch show (also featuring a little bit of Stacey) will be live on Squirrel Comedy Theatre's Twitch channel at 9:30pm EST on Wednesday 4/15/21.Check out the Hungry Cat Daily podcast and follow them on Facebook & Instagram.Don't forget to follow us on social media for more Buffy/Gilmore content as well as other comedy content.YouTube:Bryan & StaceyInstagram:@gilmoreslayer@bryanandstacey@BMofunny@staceykulowTikTok:@gilmoreslayerTwitter:@gilmoreslayer@bryanandstacey@BMofunny@staceykulowFacebook:Bryan & StaceyBuffy the Gilmore SlayerCheck out bryanandstacey.com to find out what else we've been up to, or email us at:bryanandstaceyreviews@gmail.comTheme song written and performed by Louie Aronowitz @louiearonowitz

“You’re not your political view. You’re not these little beliefs that you hold. You are so much more complex than that. And to limit yourself to these thoughts and to limit your experience, this brief experience to that is to me, insane.” — NICK BUEGEL My guest, today on the podcast, is Nick Buegel. In this conversation, we try to unpack how Nick has adjusted during this pandemic. Like many of you, this has been a time of extreme change. And change that many of us don't either want to happen or have to accept that's happening. All of our routines have changed and shifted and adjusted. And in many ways, we have to learn to lean into that change and accept it for what it is. For me personally, I'd thought of this as a way to, even though there are certain things of this that I don't enjoy, like I can't go out and travel like I had planned to do, given that I'm finally out of school, but now. I thought, what can I do to learn? So that by the time this all. Goes away or dissipates somehow come out better for it. And Nick, I think, is a true example of how to make the most out of this situation, making. Lemonade out of lemons. And the other part of this is we get into some ideas around social media and the polarization within the internet sphere. This podcast was recorded in early September before the debates, and before all of this political stuff had really ramped up to the degree that it is now. I think we get too many points that other people will find useful. Thinking about their own beliefs and ideas and how to help handle other people's ideas they might disagree with and but that everyone please enjoy this wide-ranging conversation with Nick Buegel. Show notes: (00:05:21) How did Nick react to the pandemic? (00:06:45) Anchoring in purpose (00:08:00) Adjusting to being furloughed (00:11:29) What books have impacted the most? Season 2, Episode 22 Becoming, Part 2. Part two of the season finale starts off in tears after having just finished watching the last episode of season 2 together. Chris, Mabel, and Megan can't help but question the integrity of Sunnydale police force. As usual, there's no shortage of criticism for Xander even in the season finale. Megan tries to fight off her tears as she recalls the episode, but ultimately fails and has one of her signature heartfelt "Megan Moments". Season 2, Episode 21 Becoming, Part 1. For the first of a two part season finale, Chris, Mabel, and Megan discuss the penultimate episode they just watched together before sitting down to watch part two. There’s no denying the shrinking gap between humanity and technology. What used to take us hours or days to do, can now be done by technology in a much shorter time. Change and digital disruption have become pervasive as technology and artificial intelligence (AI) advances in leaps and bounds, and it’s happening at all levels across all industries. At this juncture, the question we need to ask ourselves is how can we leverage technology to elevate ourselves and stay relevant? The trick is we need to become a part of the insight workforce, and it’s possible for everyone to be a part of it. All we need to do is leverage the information and data provided by technology to provide insights, solutions, and innovative ideas. We have to tap into our most human capabilities — how innovative we are, and the flexibility and nimbleness of our minds that allows us to come up with creative solutions. I have three ways to become a part of the insight workforce and be an innovative voice in your workplace, life, and community. #1 — Never present the facts; always present the insights. #2 — Be innovative. Start thinking differently about what’s right in front of you to create an advantage. #3 — Be an innovative leader. If you are ready to: get buy-in from key decision makers on your next big idea be a high-impact, high-value member that ignites change foster a culture of innovation where everyone on your team is bringing innovative ideas that tackle challenges and seize opportunities… Join us on LaunchStreet — gotolaunchstreet.com Mentioned in This Episode: Send Tamara Your Questions IQE Assessment Inside LaunchStreet Podcast Episode 1879: “Q&A — Staying Relevant in the Age of Technology with Tamara Ghandour” “Jobs Lost, Jobs Gained: Workforce Transitions in a Time of Automation,” Report by McKinsey Global Institute

In February 2015, Roger L. Martin joined us to talk about innovation, incentive, and inspiration. This is the stuff that drives teams to face the most complex, stubborn challenges with surprising and creative solutions. That episode quickly cemented itself as one of our most listened-to episodes in the nine years that we have been producing this show. Roger effortlessly demonstrates the kind of approach to change that has become foundational to our work at Teibel Ed. We're not solving problems, we’re navigating uncertainty. In his time as Dean of the Rotman School at the University of Toronto, he managed to enroll his best educators to help him solve a seemingly intractable recruiting challenge. The story he tells of this experience is at once bold and charming, and it carries our central message this week: what does it mean to be part of the solution, not part of the problem?Professor Martin's work in Harvard Business Review, "The Rise — and Likely Fall — of the Talent Economy," lays out the case for the disconnect of high salaries to performance in knowledge work. But can the same case be made for the impact of significant financial goals on cultivating our best creative solutions from our most engaged and willing teams? From Howard Teibel's work with institutions in administrative and academic reviews and Professor Martin's work as an academic and business leader comes a conversation that addresses the competencies of our teams, inspiring our best players to do their best work in the face of the significant challenges before them.Links & NotesRoger L. Mrs. Obama explains how her parents invested everything they had into her and her brother’s futures. She discusses her years as an attorney and executive in Chicago and how she worked to balance the demands of her career and raising two daughters. Mrs. Obama candidly discusses some of the challenges she and Barack Obama faced during the early years of their marriage, including a stint in counseling. She also opens up about her years in the White House and the pressure of being the “first black family” to live there. Finally, Mrs. Obama explains her thoughts on how she believes President Trump put her family’s safety at risk.
