Layne and Jon investigate the mystery of who is killing the newly revived Utroms in IDW’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 57 from 2016!
Eric Thompson interviews Dan Dodd of Vanguard Properties in San Francisco about the dramatic shift that took him from a scarcity mindset in 2025 to one of the strongest years of his 22-year career. After closing $15 million in 2025, Dan had already closed $33 million by mid-August 2026, with $90 million in his funnel and a projected year of $65–80 million. Dan explains that the breakthrough wasn't a new lead-generation strategy. With help from Ninja Coach Mark Johnson, he stopped simply checking the boxes of his Ninja habits and began focusing on the feelings and mindset behind them. A meaningful daily affirmation became the catalyst, helping him see possibilities he had previously overlooked, reconnect with clients, act on his warm and hot lists, and recognize opportunities already around him. The lesson is powerful: the circumstances may be the same, but an abundant mindset allows you to see and act on possibilities that scarcity causes you to miss. Key Takeaways Scarcity and abundance can produce completely different results from the exact same market conditions. Don't simply check the boxes of the Ninja habits; engage with them in a way that creates genuine feeling and action. A meaningful affirmation can become a powerful tool for changing your internal dialogue and behavior. Abundance helps you recognize opportunities already hiding within your existing relationships and warm list. Focus on the activities and behaviors you control rather than obsessing over production outcomes. You don't have to execute Ninja perfectly. Consistency and intentionality matter far more than perfection. Memorable Quotes "I wasn't kind of in scarcity. I was in full scarcity." "It was like wearing a different set of glasses." "I consistently perform the activities that propel me to the top 1%." "The behaviors are what leads to the volume." "I'm worthy of love and all of the wonderful things that life has to offer." "It's all about what we can control." We don't want to know your favorite Ninja Turtle. We want to know which Ninja Turtle is you. Which Ninja Turtle best represents your personality and behavior? Not everyone is comfortable answering the question, but Matthew Rosenberg gives it a go in our recent conversation at San Diego Comic-Con International, after a little nudge/encouragement. Matt Rosenberg will take over writing duties on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #25, after Gene Luen Yang and Fero Pe wrap up their current “City That Never Dies” storyline. Rosenberg is on a hot streak, writing both Spawn and King Spawn, as well as If Destruction Be Our Lot. Not to forget the eagerly anticipated cinematic adaptation of 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank hitting screens next year. He's the third writer to tackle the monthly Ninja Turtle series in three years, and he promises to bring a unique perspective to our favorite mutant brothers. First, his Turtles are going to war, and it's going to take them down nearly every New York City street. Streets Rosenberg knows exceptionally well as someone raised on them. Secondly, Rosenberg is a diehard Turtle fanatic, and he's been plotting possibilities for these characters since he was twelve or so. This week's podcast is our final 2026 San Diego Comic-Con episode. As we've done over the last few weeks, we've invited another podcaster onto the show to help us broaden our con coverage perspective. Today, we have Chris Hacker, co-host of The Oblivion Bar. Hacker found his way to Comic-Con only through the power of the comic book community, and we needed to take a moment to celebrate. Comic book people can get a bad rap, especially online, but Hacker's story shows the beauty that fellowship makes possible. Make sure you're following Matthew Rosenberg on his Substack, Podcast, Bluesky, and Instagram.. And follow The Oblivion Bar on Instagram and Bluesky. They say experience is the best teacher. For teens in high school, it can be easy to let AI do all the thinking for them. Who can blame them? Learning is hard work and tedious.Should kids learn the old-fashioned way, or is AI an unavoidable asset for education? Some people are constantly chasing after the next new technology. They must have the newest iPhone, smartwatch, laptop: the fastest, the latest, the best. But what about the people who look backwards instead of forwards. Vintage Computer collectors have made it their hobby to own and restore old technology. For people who have a strong aversion to bad-tasting water, Ninja's HydraSense makes sense for you.Are you a fan of a good fan? This post officially kicks off my Venice Immersive 2025 coverage, see links to all 38 episodes and 30+ hours of interviews down below. We're starting off with the interview that I did with Doug Liman (co-founder of 30 Ninjas), Julina Tatlock (co-founder of 30 Ninjas), & Jed Weintrob (co-founder of 30 Ninjas), & Max Spear (Product Lead of Android XR at Google) about Asteroid on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Venice Immersive in Venice, Italy. Here is the story synopsis for Asteroid: "Asteroid is an immersive film and interactive story extension made for the launch of Google's new Android XR platform. The 180° immersive short film is a high-stakes action thriller about a group of strangers who take an old Russian Soyuz rocket to mine a near-earth, treasure laden asteroid for a chance at unimaginable wealth. After the film, the experience continues and the audience enters the world of Asteroid when they receive an SOS from one of the characters, DK Metcalf, who was left for dead. The viewer becomes a player when they are invited to aid in DK's rescue. Through speaking with an AI-generated version of DK — played by the NFL player as himself — the user determines the truth about what happened on the asteroid and sends his exact location to NASA for rescue." Here are the contextual domains that are explored: Long distance travel [9] where someone is left behind (de facto exile) [12], and there is a rescue mission where you as a character [1] help out the protagonist [7] in the second half, but also a lot of mystery [12] to figure out and investigate [9] Here is the Elemental Center of Gravity: 1st Center of Gravity of Emotional Presence: cinematic Virtual Reality thriller that begins as a film and continues as an immersive story game. Combination of live-action 180-video along with CGI-driven animations also in 180-video2nd Center of Gravity of Earth Element / Environmental and Embodied Presence: Worldbuilding of sci-fi extraction of asteroid, you embody a character in story in the last part, and you break the fourth wall in the onboarding talking to the actor who plays a character via AI3rd Center of Gravity of Air Element / Mental and Social Presence: Conversational-driven AI Story Extension - You talk to the actor DK Metcalf at the beginning and with the character at the end. A bit of puzzling together of the myserious aspects of the story4th Center of Gravity of Fire Element / Active Presence: continues as an immersive story game - Improv convo + slightly nudged and directed exploration Archetypal Themes and Character Explored: Everyone are anti-heroes archetypes - Power and Greed vs Limitations, constraints, boundaries, death. Doug Liman says there aren't many anti-heroes in space movies, Han Solo is an exception. What if all of the characters were Han Solos? What drama would ensue? Artist Statement: "I've always thought of myself as an immersive filmmaker. The goal was to put the audience in the action, not to be sort of passively watching it. Now that the technology has caught up with us, I really can put the audience in the rocket. Asteroid is the story of a ragtag group of astronauts who booked a ride on a used Soyuz spacecraft. An asteroid passes near Earth. It's laden with precious metals and gems. If you can get there, you can become insanely wealthy. It's a modern gold rush." Read transcriptBy the mid-2000s, Naruto had pulled off something most manga-to-anime properties never manage: it wasn't just popular, it was everywhere, spinning off a small army of video games across nearly every system with a screen, like Naruto himself used Shadow Clone Jutsu on the entire games industry and nobody thought to stop him. Somewhere in that flood of Ninja Councils and Clash of Ninjas sits Naruto: Path of the Ninja, the entry that decided the best way to honor Kishimoto's story wasn't just punching (though there's plenty of that too) but actually letting you live through the Land of Waves and the Chūnin Exams one turn-based battle at a time. Path of the Ninja debuted on the Game Boy Advance in Japan back in 2004, then took a leisurely three years to reach American shelves in 2007, arriving on the Nintendo DS instead, because by the time they got around to localizing it, the GBA already felt like last decade's news. You pick from six familiar faces, Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Shikamaru, Neji, and Rock Lee, pair them into formations for bonus combo attacks, and work through more than 90 jutsu, some of which you cast on the DS touchscreen by frantically scribbling a shape with the stylus, which is either a clever nod to hand seals or just a fun way to give yourself a cramp. The story runs all the way to the Chunin Exam invasion and a face-off with Shukaku, and if you're wondering whether you can also fight Itachi as a secret bonus boss, the answer is: only if you own the Japanese version. The English release quietly deleted that fight but somehow forgot to scrub his name from the end credits, which is the video game equivalent of hiding a body and leaving the shovel leaning against the wall. Making another through the Play Comics dojo is Merrilee O'Neil of Fear Coded, last seen on the show trying to keep pace with the Flash. This time she's trading super speed for shadow clones, hand seals, and a Konoha headband, so at least the running is a little more sustainable. So form your hand seals, grab your kunai pouch, and let's find out if Path of the Ninja earned its headband as a worthy trip through early Naruto, or if it should've stayed back at the Academy with the rest of the genin. Learn such things as: Isn't the world today better, with games coming out worldwide at basically the same time? How can you use a console's gimmick to really lean into the gameplay? Can a game stick to the established story a bit too well? And so much more! You can find Merrilee being the main driver of the Fear Coded account on BlueSky @fearcodedpod.bsky.social on her podcast Fear Coded. The conversation around UFO disclosure has never been bigger—but what if we're asking the wrong questions? This week, we're joined by former Green Beret Paul Bock for a deep dive into the modern disclosure movement, Steven Greer's role in shaping the conversation, and the possibility that the phenomenon may be spiritual rather than extraterrestrial. We explore reports of demonic spiritual oppression, consciousness, government transparency, and the growing overlap between paranormal experiences and biblical theology. Could UFO disclosure be revealing hidden truths, or is it leading people toward a much larger deception? Paul shares his research, challenges popular narratives, and offers a perspective that will leave you thinking long after the episode ends. Whether you're fascinated by UAPs, interested in spiritual warfare, or simply curious about one of today's most controversial topics, this is a conversation you won't want to miss. Evan Meyer, GovTech entrepreneur, community advocate, podcast host, and self-proclaimed "civic ninja" joins the show for a thought-provoking conversation about civic engagement, public trust, and the future of local government. Drawing on his experience spanning technology startups, neighborhood leadership, public service, and civic innovation, Evan shares his perspective on why trust in government has eroded, how local communities can reclaim agency, and why meaningful change often starts much closer to home than most people realize. We also discuss the role of technology and AI in government, the challenges of bureaucratic inefficiency, the importance of transparent communication between elected officials and constituents, and the incentives that shape public-sector decision-making.
In this episode, Eric Thompson interviews Larry Kendall about the fourth principle of Ninja Selling: Connect and Communicate. Larry explains that great communication begins with connection. The best communicators create a sense of trust through what he calls a "non-anxious presence," making the conversation about the other person rather than themselves. By asking thoughtful questions, listening deeply, and adapting to clients' communication styles, Ninjas help clients gain clarity and make confident decisions. The conversation explores the Platinum Rule, the importance of asking rather than telling, and the sequence of connection, foundational, diagnostic, and closing questions. Larry also shares one of his favorite coaching tools, the "magic wand" question, and the personal story of how asking that question helped him and his wife discover and ultimately purchase their dream home. Key Takeaways Great communication starts by creating connection before trying to communicate information. Asking questions is more powerful than telling because it builds trust, uncovers needs, and creates clarity. Match the other person's communication style, personality, and learning modality to build rapport. Follow the sequence of connection, foundational, diagnostic, and closing questions. The "magic wand" question helps people think freely and uncover what they truly want. Focus on helping clients make great decisions rather than trying to sell them. Memorable Quotes "Connect first, then communicate." "Treat others the way they want to be treated." "Asking is better than telling." "It matters who says it." "If you could wave your magic wand…" "The market is the bad guy. We're on the seller's team." Have you ever seen an absolutely powerhouse woman in the gym? By this, I mean a woman who isn't afraid to lift heavy and has muscle – like real muscle? When I have seen a woman like this in the gym before, I must be honest – I am partially I awe and terrified at the same time. But here's the thing. As I get deeper in mid-life, I'm inspired and challenged by the idea of lifting. I know that it is the key to my longevity and doing the things I want to do as I get older. And sure, it's still a bit scary, but I may just become one of these women yet. Anne Marie Chaker, my guest today, had her own strong woman moment in a hotel. It changed the trajectory of her life, and maybe this conversation will change yours. During our podcast, Anne Marie and I chatted about:The fateful moment where Anne Marie said I want to be like her; I want to be strong. How getting strong has changed Anne Marie's life for the better. The story behind her book, Lift: How Women Can Reclaim Their Physical Power and Transform Their Lives.Anne Marie's thoughts on GLP-1's and diet culture vs. getting strongWhat does it mean to age beastfully vs. gracefully? If someone wants to get started lifting, where should they start? Here is more about Anne Marie:Anne Marie Chaker is a veteran journalist and professional bodybuilder. During her two-decade career at The Wall Street Journal, she held reporting jobs all over the paper, from the Journal's regional editions to the Spot News Desk during the September 11 attack. She has covered everything from politics to news events, consumer trends, education, the workplace, and the major sociological shifts of our time. Her article “I Never Thought I'd Write This: I Am a Female Bodybuilder” generated more than 500k views since it was published in 2020. She is also the author of LIFT: How Women Can Reclaim Their Physical Power and Transform Their Lives, which hit the shelves in 2025. Chaker lives in the Washington, D.C., area with her partner, Rick; daughters Juliette and Sylvie; and their overeager pup, Ninja. Before we begin, please be sure to share this show with a family member, friend or colleague. Send us Fan MailEpisode 276 of the Hey You Guys Podcast is here, and this week, Liam and Rob look back at Canon Films classic, 1985's, American Ninja. Bad acting? Check. Dodgy stereotypes? Check. Ludicrous premise? Check.....still kinda awesome? Check. Like its star, Michael Dudikoff, American Ninja might not be, well, objectively good, but there is definitely something about it. Does it hold up in 2026 though? Listen in via your podcast platform of choice to find out.
Over the last few weeks, a St. Clair jury had been introduced to a variety of alleged eyewitnesses to the crime, and listened to damaging - but sometimes conflicting - accounts of the events of the morning of November 5th, 1986. Additionally, they had heard key testimony as to the defendant's character – primarily from the victim's fiancée, Crystal Merrill, who had briefly dated Fred. Her scathing portrayal of Freeman as a manipulative and abusive individual – who, according to her testimony, claimed to be a Ninja warrior in a secret organization. The prosecution's case also featured the testimony of Phillip Joplin, a career criminal who contended that Freeman had nonchalantly confessed to the murder to him while the two were being held for a couple of hours in the same cell. But now it was the defense's turn, and they had strong eyewitnesses of their own to present. Could a parade of purportedly unbiased individuals – several who, frankly, didn't even particularly care for Fred Freeman – counteract the impact of the prosecution's case? Mike introduces a book recommendation for the week, 'Ninja Selling' by Larry Kendall, to the audience. They emphasize the book's focus on the core of a successful real estate agent's business, aligning with the desire to build relationships rather than see oneself as a salesperson. Mike shares their personal admiration for the book, having spoken with Kendall and found the strategies practical and implementable. They encourage the audience to revisit the book for deeper understanding, highlighting the potential for 'AHA' moments upon second reading.

Eric Thompson interviews Gavin Vargas of Windermere Group One in Richland, Washington, who shares the mindset and habits behind building an 80-plus transaction business in a market of just 65,000 people. After attending his first Ninja Installation at age 21, Gavin steadily built his business by committing to the Ninja system, and in 2026 is on pace for his first $100,000 month. Gavin credits his success to three things: mastering his mindset, maintaining consistent live flow, and treating everyone in his business as a relationship rather than a transaction. His goal is 15 live interviews per day, including clients, vendors, contractors, and community members. He also consistently delivers real estate reviews, hosts open houses with a service mindset, and intentionally nurtures relationships with service providers, who now generate roughly a quarter of his business. Throughout the conversation, Gavin reflects on the influence of his late grandfather, Jeff Thompson, whose mentorship shaped both his mindset and his approach to serving others. His message is simple: consistent daily activities, grounded in the right mindset, create extraordinary long-term results. Key Takeaways A strong mindset is the foundation for long-term business success. Consistently completing 15 live interviews per day creates remarkable momentum. Contractors, vendors, and service providers are valuable referral partners who deserve the same level of flow as clients. Real estate reviews provide meaningful opportunities to reconnect and deliver value. Open houses are most effective when you become the neighborhood expert rather than simply hosting the event. Small daily habits, practiced consistently, compound into extraordinary results. Memorable Quotes "Provide value or make people feel good." "Shake the dust off your feet and move on." "Get your mindset right first." "I can't afford to forget what I learned." "The consistency is what matters." "You don't have to have a larger-than-life personality to build a great business. Some episodes have a theme. This one has approximately fourteen. The crew starts by diving headfirst into one of the biggest surprise entertainment stories we've heard in a while: Danny McBride is writing a brand-new G.I. Joe movie. That's enough to send every child of the '80s and '90s into a nostalgic spiral, so naturally the gang spends way too much time debating what made the original cartoons great, why the previous movies never quite landed, and whether nostalgia is actually making a comeback or if we're all just getting old. Then things somehow get even weirder.Chef Liz from Tenacious Eats rolls into the studio with a full Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-themed dinner preview... and an actual Michelangelo joins the show. Suddenly we're talking Jim Henson costumes, pizza, arcade cabinets, Foot Clan hideouts, movie trivia, and enough food to make every listener immediately hungry. There are handmade pizzas, Japanese-inspired dishes, surprise menu items, beer pairings, cheesecake, pizza rolls, and enough delicious descriptions that someone is probably ordering lunch halfway through the episode.Of course, because this is The Rizzuto Show, absolutely none of these conversations stay on the rails for very long. The gang also wanders into Disney live-action remake debates, celebrity movie failures, action figures, arcade memories, childhood movie trauma, random impressions, and the kind of sarcastic arguments only longtime friends can have. Every tangent somehow creates three more tangents until nobody remembers how the conversation started. It's exactly the kind of beautiful disaster you've come to expect. If you're looking for a daily comedy podcast filled with pop culture commentary, hilarious stories, nostalgic movie talk, celebrity news, and friends making each other laugh, you've found it. This daily comedy podcast is packed with ridiculous conversations, unexpected guests, funny opinions, and enough random chaos to keep your commute entertaining.Whether you've been listening for years or you're jumping into The Rizzuto Show for the first time, this daily comedy podcast proves once again that no topic is too small to become a twenty-minute debate once this crew gets involved. So grab some pizza, avoid the Foot Clan, and enjoy another completely unhinged morning with The Rizzuto Show.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshowConnect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
