Tony and Phil talk to Accrington Stanley forward Matt Lowe, who came over this season after spending 7 seasons with Brackley Town. They discuss his recovery from hip surgery and time table for his return, what life was like juggling a teaching career while playing non-league, and how life has changed now that he is back to full time football.
This week it's the play-offs at Step 2. We talk to two managers who had their teams top of their respective divisions mid-way through the season but saw their leads clawed back and surpassed leaving them to face the lottery of the play-offs. Both secured second place though so have had the liberty of watching opposition competing in eliminator games this week before welcoming them this weekend in the semi-finals where second place teams take home advantage throughout. Both old friends of the show too, both possibly competing for the longest serving managers in the top two tiers of non league football. Plus whilst one saw his side concede less than any other club at step 2 this season, the other saw his side score more than any other side at Step 2 this season. First up we chat with Marc White. Preparing for a visit of Oxford CIty, he's philosophical about the play-offs. Promotion was the aim at the start of the season and that's still on with two home wins all that's required. With a pretty much full squad to choose from after an injury crisis, he's also pretty confident they can make it 12 promotions in the club's relative short history. Also chasing the dream of taking his relatively minnow club into the top flight of Non league is Brackley Town boss Kevin WIlkin. The part-time outfit has competed strongly throughout the season against a gaggle of full-time, big name clubs in the National North this year. York City are one such team their visitors this weekend in the semi-final, where home advantage is making the Town of Brackley very excited…. Just like their manager. On his way back from a thrilling Play-off eliminator tie it's Matt Badcock Editor at Large at The Non League Paper as gives his thoughts on the play-offs and the final round of games in the National League PLUS what's to come in this weekend's paper.

Tim Fuell delves into the FA Trophy First Round Proper as the competition reaches the last 64. First up owner of Southport FC, Phil Hodgkinson ahead of his side's massive cup week. Hosting fellow FA Cup replay remainers Solihill Moors in this weekend's FA Trophy the club face a tough challenge, but perhaps not as tough as Monday's home FA Cup replay against Tranmere Rovers. With the prize of a televised FA Cup Third Round tie against Tottenham Hotspur awaiting the winners, it's interesting times for the Sandgrounders. Made more interesting because their FA Trophy rivals Solihull Moors have their own FA Cup replay on Tuesday at Blackpool with another TV screened FA Cup Third Round tie, this time at home to Arsenal, the carrot awaiting. Hartlepool United are new to the FA Trophy but new manager Richard Money believes it is the sort of competition they should be looking to do well in. He admits their trip to Leamington on Saturday is a tough one but he knows the rewards success in the competition can bring having won with Cambridge United. Paul Hughes is manager at Hayes & Yeading United of the Isthmian South Central Division in Step 4. Having knocked three step 3 sides already out of this season's FA Trophy, his side face a very tough trip to current holders Brackley Town. The odds might be against them but the West London side are in form, in goals and in the mood to take cup scalps. Rounding it all off Matt Badcock returns with the Non League Paper round up including Billericay Town, managers looking to get back into a hotseat and the cup competitions ahead.
Stockport County manager Jim Gannon speaks to 104.9 Imagine FM presenter Chris Ridgway about the disappointment of only a point gained in the games with Brackley Town and Blyth Spartans, while looking ahead to cup fever, with The Hatters hosting Chorley in the FA Trophy before travelling to Barnet in the FA Cup.
Tim Fuell guides you through another episode of the nation's favourite non league weekly. **Old friend of the show Kevin Wilkin returns as he prepares his Brackley** Town side to defend the FA Trophy in this weekend's Third Qualifying Round. Kirsty Clark Director of Sport at Stonewall comes on to explain their new Partnership with the Football Association and how as part of this season's Rainbow Laces campaign, Stonewall FC are to play a home league match in the Middlesex County Football League Division One against Wilberforce Wanderers, at Wembley Stadium. Steve Herbert has done much as a supporter of his beloved Barrow FC and lived the highs and lows of non league club supporting. Now as Chair of the Bluebirds Trust he is excited at the prospect of a new owner opening up 10% share ownership of the club to the Trust and a positive future for the club that all can get involved in. With 1st playing third and second playing fourth in the National League this week, there is plenty of action for Matt Badcock of the Non League Paper to look forward to, as well as plenty of FA Trophy action too. That's all after he's had his say on the dramatic cupsets in this week's FA Cup First Round Replays.

It's time for the final Kent Non-League Podcast of the season! Tim Fuell speaks with those involved ahead of Non League Finals Day this weekend. Bromley Boss Neil Smith leads his boyhood town club out at Wembley for the FA Trophy on Sunday in the knowledge that it has been the best season ever already in the history of the club, but he still wants to win. His adversary in the 4.15pm Kick off is Kevin Wilkin manager at Brackley Town who themselves have had the best season in their history, tinged with disappointment but still ready to wrap it up with silverware. In the FA Vase Danny Robinson has signed a new two year deal at Thatcham Town before he manages them in their biggest ever game and opposition Chairman Martin Hillerby is proud to be taking his club Stockton Town to Wembley to face Thatcham, knowing that his club is already over-achieving everything he ever dreamed of. Wrapping it up, Martin Allen explains why the move from one relegated Football League club to another, Barnet to Chesterfield this week was never about competing offers, more the challenge and the chance to re-invigorate a club he believes has great potential with their loyal fan base.
