Dave, Cal, Katie and Sean speak with 3 Sale Harriers where on the first on the podcast where we have a mum and her two daughters, Helen, Lucy and Sophie Armitage. Starting off, they all tell us how they got into running and you can guess that parents had a big influence. Sophie goes through her questions telling us about remembering competing at such a young age and how the coaches when she was a junior, she was able to bring key things she brought to her training now. Sophie also tells us about how much she loves XC and her best season last year. Sophie ran her 5k PB in the same race as Lucy and she tells us how much she enjoyed being in the race with her sister. She has made a big decision to focus solely on 800m and when you look how much she has improved over the last year, she has made a sensible choice. Helen talks about her varied running career from being a county champion at 17 to a v50 today. She talks about her uni journey and how she was able to enjoy going to different universities. Helen makes it clear that she has never pushed her daughters into running and its paid off as they are the ones now that drag her out for runs. The government has pledged to stop using hotels to house asylum seekers. But in early November nearly three hundred people were moved into a hotel in Altrincham in Greater Manchester. The decision has provoked widespread concerns from the community and there are fears that far right protestors could target the premises. It follows violent demonstrations outside hotels in Rotherham, Hull, Tamworth, Manchester, Aldershot and Bristol in the summer. Hotel accommodation is often provided in some of the UK's poorest communities where residents are already facing difficulties in accessing vital services. So what is the government's plan to stop the use of hotel accommodation? And when will it end? File on 4 hears from some of those who live in the hotels – and from the communities who live nearby – and discovers who's profiting from the asylum business. It's numbered 6, as we have previously spoken to Gavin Gordon, Mark Hone & Roger Holmes. However, this is the third in a new series hosted by Gary and former Lincoln City player Paul De Garis, following on from Matt Carmichael and Simon Yeo.Colin Alcide signed for the Imps in 1995, having to turn professional to do so. He had previously played for Emley (twice) and Altrincham, mainly as a defender. He was signed by John Beck, and pitched straight into a survival battle, which the Imps achieved,The following season the big striker became a key part of Beck's team as they pushed up the table, narrowly missing out on the play-offs, and giving Premier League Southampton a scare in the Coca-Cola Cup. A year later, with Alcide scoring 13 goals, the Imps were promoted to the third tier.Colin left for Hull halfway through the 1998/99 season, having made 140 appearances for City, scoring 31 times. In his later years, he played for Cambridge, York, and Exeter, as well as appearing in Europe for TNS. A mixed bag this week. We speak to an old friend of the show making progress every season at his club, now in the FA Trophy Fourth round and pushing for a play-off promotion in the National League. Phil Parkinson - yes non-league's very own - thinks his Altrincham side is coming together nicely, although the Christmas schedule isn't as he'd hoped, highlighting the big sacrifices those involved in football often have to make. With a similar schedule after weeks without competitive football is step 5 Tividale. They hope to get their FA Vase Third round tie played this weekend at the third attempt. Competing still in four cup competitions but not having had a league game since October it's been a strange season but one manager Stuart How is confident will bring rewards. Rounding up the week's news and the show is Jon Couch Executive Editor at The Non League paper.

Before starting Matillion in 2011, Matthew worked in commercial IT and software development for 15 years at a number of British and European systems integrators. A native of Altrincham, England, near Manchester, Matthew now spends half his time in the United States – primarily in Denver (Matillion's U.S. headquarters), Seattle, New York, and in the Bay Area, at the beating heart of the enterprise software industry.I am a big advocate for developing healthier company culture, and we dive right into this conversation with a framework on just that from Matthew! We also talk about how there's no one right answer about which culture to create that leads to building a company with staying power, how to determine when your company pivot is working, micro confidence vs. macro confidence, the personal growth you make as a leader, and the biggest obstacle people have in building their companies.Learn more about Matthew and Mattillion | WebsiteFor more stories and advice on founders and CEOs, head to alisacohn.comTo stay up to date on future episodes and learn more from Alisa, sign up for her newsletter.Connect with Alisa!Follow Alisa Cohn onInstagram: @alisacohnTwitter: @alisacohnFacebook: facebook.com/alisa.cohnLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/alisacohn/Website: http://www.alisacohn.comDownload her 5 scripts for delicate conversations (and 1 to make your life better)Grab a copy of From Start-Up to Grown-Up by Alisa Cohn from AmazonIf you like what you hear, please subscribe to the podcast!Connect with Alisa! I Bought A Football Club - Stephen Cleeve Chairman King’s Lynn Town FC
Discuss the financial aspects around Altrincham FC going full time, why The National League is appealing to American investors and much more. I explain why the streaming deal is not fair, cover why Chelsea loan players instead of selling and why Clearlake can't lose. I also explain how much money King's Lynn made in our FA Cup run but I still struggle to pronounce the word amortisation. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/stephen-cleeve/message
