Edition No145 | 23-05-2025 - Julia Davis has penned a superb article, published on CEPA's website. She describes the Kremlin's propagandists as being in ebullient mood as they anticipate the disengagement of the US from mediating in the Ukraine conflict. This is what they wanted all along, and Trump is threatening to give them exactly what they were craving. Normalization on the world stage, and absolute impunity to continue the war. Don't look to the sterile public statements and press releases to understand the mind and mood of the Kremlin, states Julia Davis, but listen to its highly paid propagandists in the state-controlled TV studios. They are regularly briefed by the Kremlin's handlers on what they can and can't say, and the scripted narratives of TV discussions are highly choreographed to show the regime's views and aims, and where any internal doubts exist, the debate traces the outlines and boundaries of the potential directions under discussion. The May 19th phone conversation between Putin and Trump about a possible peace deal in Ukraine is a classic case in point. The US administration gave a positive, if distant view of a potential peace negotiation. Holding out a whisp of hope for future renewal of dialogue. The Russian take, on the other hand, was the same as it has always been. Russian state television repeatedly stated that Moscow has no interest in a ceasefire or peace — unless it amounts to Ukraine's full and unconditional capitulation. No change in policy, or actions supporting it.----------LINK:https://cepa.org/article/russia-to-ukraine-you-want-a-ceasefire-and-i-want-you-dead/----------Your support is massively appreciated!SILICON CURTAIN LIVE EVENTS - FUNDRAISER CAMPAIGNEvents in 2025 - Advocacy for a Ukrainian victory with Silicon CurtainNEXT EVENTS - LVIV, KYIV AND ODESA THIS MAY.https://buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtain/extrasOur first live events this year in Lviv and Kyiv were a huge success. SERIES 3 EPISODE 68: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (2:00) SPECIAL COMMENT: If you're wondering who's the boss here it ain't Trump. Putin refused to call him first and instead had Russian State Television "celebrate" his becoming the 21st Century Grover Cleveland by showing nude photos of Melania. Russian TV - which has figured out Trump is a lame duck - also reported Nikki Haley and Mike Pompeo would not be in the new administration long before Trump announced it. Putin also seems to have soured on RFK Jr, leaving Sideshow Bobby to aspire only to becoming Secretary of Masturbation. MEANWHILE, NO, THE ELECTION WAS NOT STOLEN - not in the sense you're thinking. It WAS stolen in the sense that the fascists and the anti-democracy billionaires have been running a series of illicit, hidden, disguised pro-Republican advertisements 24/7/365, for at least thirty years. They have been bombarding the underachievers of this nation, the incels, the morons, the idiots, the bros, and now the social media addicts of America, with a series of easy-to-digest, sweet-tasting conspiracy theories on a thousand streaming networks and podcasts and the Democrats have...MSNBC. The Left not only doesn't compete in the new Marketplace of Ideas it doesn't know where the shops are. It has to change this or you can forget '26 and '28 as well. On the other hand, this circular firing squad? Utterly ludicrous. It looks like Kamala Harris will have ultimately lost by 1.5% which would make Trump's the fifth SMALLEST popular vote win all time. You do not burn it all down after that. You rebuild. B-BLOCK (32:15) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: Corey Lewandowski and Chris LaCivita show us what winning means: you get to try to kill your rival on the winning team. Finally we figure out what's really behind the deportation scam: the companies that will make billions building the private prisons to turn into concentration camps for deportees. Nevermind the future of NATO. Will its members ever trust us with intel again? And the Dallas Cowboys honor founding coach Tom Landry on Veterans' Day by...misspelling his name. But it'll all come out in the wash. C-BLOCK (40:00) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: With only 7% of the city believing he didn't commit a crime, New York Mayor Eric Adams has reached out to...Trump. The Massachusetts congressman has the New Democratic rallying cry: Transphobia! And the White House "correspondent" so stupid she publicly accused the Democrats of trying to fix the Kari Lake/Ruben Gallego race so they can "steal" Congress. Except Lake and Gallego were running for the Senate!  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Last week, the Department of Justice announced major indictments alleging that, among other things, the Kremlin was paying right-wing influencers, like Dave Rubin, Tim Pool, and Benny Johnson, to spread Russian propaganda. The payments were funneled through a Tennessee-based company called Tenet Media, and while Rubin, Pool, and Johnson deny knowledge of the plot ... they don't seem to have asked too many questions about the mysterious benefactor who was supposedly funding Tenet and paying them unseemly large amounts of money. The Ville neighborhood in St. Louis' northside has birthed heroes from librarian Julia Davis to queen of rock ‘n' roll Tina Turner. But even the Ville couldn't avoid higher vacancy, empty land and crime — due in large part to disinvestment in the once bustling community. The Northside Trap Run seeks to bring the neighborhood back to its heyday and remind the community how much it has to be proud of. In this episode, race ambassador and St. Louis Run Crew founder Ricky Hughes talks about this Saturday's race.

Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who Podcast

This week, a technologically-augmented interdimensional mummy runs amok on a replica of the Orient Express in space under the control of a terrifying alien intelligence or something. It's a day at the office for Doctor Who, in Mummy on the Orient Express. Notes and links Mummy on the Orient Express marks the triumphant return of Janet Henfrey to Doctor Who after about twenty-five years: she plays Miss Hardaker in The Curse of Fenric. She will come back some time after that to play the Adjudicator in Sil and the Seven Seeds of Arodor. David Bamber is in charge of this version of the Orient Express: Nathan recognises him immediately as Cicero in Rome and as Mr Collins in Pride and Prejudice. Richard notes that he plays [Adolf Hitler][] in Valkyrie (2008), and perhaps more terrifyingly Noel in Camping, a sitcom created by Julia Davis. Si saw him turn up in an episode of Endeavour, the Inspector Morse prequel set in the late 1960s. Meanwhile, Christopher Villiers returns to Doctor Who as Professor Moorhouse; thirty years earlier he was young Hugh Fitzwilliam in The King's Demons. Alarmingly, Richard is right to suggest that he is a descendant of the aristocracy. And finally, Frank Skinner is a famous standup comedian and radio presenter. The show Richard is thinking of may be The Rest is History on Radio 4, but he has been in many, many radio shows over the years. You can see John Sessions's 1994 audition to play the Doctor in the TV movie here on YouTube. He plays the terrifying General Tannis in the BBC webcast Death Comes to Time (2001). In 2018, Jenna Coleman starred in a TV miniseries called The Cry, which was shot in Australia.
