Even God's creation of earth must end….in order to be recreated. The butterfly was once a caterpillar. The caterpillar ended so that the butterfly could begin. I remember a Buggs Bunny cartoon. The cartoon was about an attaché case with a top secret inside. The whole cartoon was about Elmer Fudd and Buggs Bunny each trying to steal the case from each other and find the secret it contained. Finally, after fighting each other they agree to open it together……When they see what is inside they say “this is horrible, awful, the worst thing that could ever happen!” what was inside?….simply the words…..”the End!” Then the credits rolled. That was a brilliant cartoon by the creators of Buggs Bunny! The end is coming of all we know and experience. It can be awful, terrible and horrible…..or it can be unimaginable joy!

Besides trying something new with a brand new Monday release date for new Nick Nack Goes To The Movies episodes after hitting 50 released podcast shows last week, I could not stop there.  So we also took a break away from horror and super hero things.  So I have been putting this off for a bit, but I took to one of the latest HBO Max/theater releases.  I grew up with and loved the original Space Jam as a kid, and I was mad nervous with the trailers for Space Jam: A New Legacy.  But with the basketball duology available in its entirety on HBO Max, I finally took the plunge before the sequel disappears from streaming services on August 16th.  So let's find out if the original still stands up and if the sequel can keep its head in the game and more importantly, see if LeBron James can continue the legacy left by Michael Jordan.  After the episode take a trip to my Letterboxd and see how I ranked the two films, and you can find me on social at either @NickNackMovies or NickNack_IC on Twitter, Tik Tok, and Instagram!

La troisième saison se poursuit avec ce numéro de la résilience. The latest nonsense is the intention to pass a law requiring cigarettes to be sold only in plain packets….this will put people off buying them…the rotting tar covered lung on the packet apparently isn’t doing the trick. I watched some of the TV awards with the highly talented Ant and Dec getting their annual trophy. This was during a week where it was impossible to find ANYTHING worth watching….Stars In Their Eyes…or should I say The Harry Hill Show…I’ve always quite liked Harry Hill…until now…Harry (over the) Hill.. Groucho Marx matches wits with the American public in four episodes of this classic game show. Starting on the radio in 1947, You Bet Your Life made its television debut in 1950 and aired for 11 years with Groucho as host and emcee. Sponsored rather conspicuously by the Dodge DeSoto car manufacturers, the show featured two contestants working as a team to answer questions for cash prizes.Groucho Marx did 26 movies total, of these 15 were with his brothers Chico and Harpo. Of those 15 movies only 14 were actually released. The first movie was a silent film, that Groucho is said to of cut up the movie into guitar picks, to prevent it's release. Needless to say, he didn't like it. Although students of the cinema still try to find a copy of the film, feeling it has great historical value. They were one of the world's most famous comedy teams. They had their own zany brand of slapstick comedy. That was mixed with quick witted one-liners, usually delivered by Groucho. Some of Groucho's one-liners were often imitated, even by some of todays biggest comedians. You can also find them in some of the old Buggs Bunny cartoons.
