But in general Williams' Tigers need to take another step. Last year was Byron Smith's first losing season in SWAC play during his 8 year tenure. Could this be a bounce back season? Mac and Bieniek finish the Southwest Athletic Conference College Basketball Preview with some takes. What are their projected standings at the end of the year? The guys also provide their SWAC Basketball sleepers and bust predictions. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Come join us all year long on the College Basketball Experience! EXPLICIT CONTENT WARNING* NO REALLY I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW EXPLICIT* DO NOT LISTEN UNLESS YOU ARE READY TO HEAR TWO PEOPLE DIE* It's time for another Celeste and Richard comedy hour, except for that it's not funny and it's more than an hour. The castle doctrine gives people the right to use deadly force to protect their homes from intruders, but some would argue that Byron Smith took the castle doctrine too far when he set a trap for a couple young hoodlums that had been burglarizing his home and garage. How do we know it wasn't just a simple case of self-defense? The idiot recorded the entire thing. The murders of 18-year-old Haile Kifer and her 17-year-old cousin Nicholas Brady occurred on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2012, when the two teenagers broke into the home of 64-year-old Byron David Smith in Little Falls, Minnesota. Once inside the home, Smith shot the teens separately, 10 minutes apart, as they each walked down the stairs to the basement. The case sparked debate over the "Castle Doctrine", which allows homeowners to defend their homes with lethal force. Join The Investigators as they examine whether or not the Castle Doctrine was a viable defense for Byron Smith and how his career as a Security Engineer for the State Department might help explain his mental state leading up to this tragic and fateful day.
Byron retired from his job as a top level security engineer for the government and put down roots in Little Falls. Little did he know his neighbours children would rob him of his possessions and one day his freedom. #byronsmith #nickbrady #hailekifer #truecrimepodcast

Overkill - a term that was originally used to describe nuclear weaponry is now used when there is a killing in excess of what is intended or required. In this week's episode we will tell you two cases where the "overkill" is what makes or breaks the case. Ronda: Daniel Laplante never stood a chance, but instead of turning his life around, he became a creep. He enjoyed breaking into homes and playing mind games with his victims. This is what he did with the Andrews family until he decided to escalate his behavior. This one is a wild ride, so buckle in! Pam: When Haile Kifer and Nick Brady broke into Byron Smith's home, they were not expecting to be met with an ambush. This double murder called into question some of Minnesota's laws regarding the right to protect your own home. At what point does self defense turn into premeditation?
