K-State began the 2017 season in the Top 25 and were labeled by many prognosticators as a dark horse Big 12 title candidate. Injuries to multiple quarterbacks led to a sputtering offense in the early portion of the Big 12 slate. While the Wildcats were taken out of Big 12 title contention early, Snyder and Company, yet again, managed to rally the troops. The 'Cats won five out of their final six games: - K-State's ninth straight win in the Sunflower Showdown; Mike Lee now 0-2 in this game, for those of you scoring at home - Skylar Thompson helps lead KSU to an OT victory over Texas Tech in Lubbock - Snyder picks up his first EVER win over a Top 10 foe on the road as K-State holds on for dear life in Stillwater against Oklahoma State - A walk-off win over Iowa State on Senior Day in BSFS - 'Cats mow down UCLA in the Cactus Bowl; Snyder picks up back-to-back bowl wins for the first time since the '99 Holiday Bowl and '00 Cotton Bowl

We call this our Thursday Meeting show of BangTheBook Radio in homage to the famed Tuesday Meeting group in Las Vegas. We've got two extremely bright handicappers on each week and we're happy to bring you Brad Powers from BradPowersSports.com and Ralph Michaels from WagerTalk.com again this week with host Adam Burke. With Brad, we'll take a look at the bowl games coming up this weekend, with the Birmingham Bowl, Armed Forces Bowl, Dollar General Bowl, Hawaii Bowl, Heart of Dallas Bowl, Quick Lane Bowl, and Cactus Bowl. On the NFL side, the guys will hit the Chargers vs. Jets and Falcons vs. Saints. Ralph Michaels joins us to talk a little bit of everything today. He's got some stronger bowl game opinions on the next round of games, so he and Adam broke down those matchups. They also hit three key NFL games, with Seahawks vs. Cowboys, Steelers vs. Texans, and Raiders vs. Eagles. With the remaining time, Ralph had a few more college basketball betting tips to pass along for this weekend.
Nathan's back from hiatus, and the guys talk basketball woes, baseball hopes, football's early signing day, and next week's Cactus Bowl against Kansas State.

Welcome to Bowlapalooza 2017 … where we bask in the thrill and wonder of bowl season … and the analysis is all made up and the results of the Tennessee coaching search don't matter. This year, in addition to our #Pac12AfterDark correspondent AJ Kuftic, we're joined by: Braden Gall, host on ESPN Radio 102.5 The Game in Nashville and SiriusXM's ESPNU Radio Jake Rose, broadcaster for Middle Tennessee State University sports and contributor to Athlon Sports David Fox, formerly of Athlon Sports and current recovering sports journalist And now, the chosen bowls … Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl (7 p.m. ET Tues., Dec. 19, ESPN) Akron (7-6) vs. Florida Atlantic (10-3) David's pick, because who doesn't want to talk about a mediocre MAC team and the Fighting Lane Kiffins … playing a bowl game in their home stadium? Also a brief shout-out to the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl, just because. Bahamas Bowl (12:30 p.m. ET Fri., Dec. 22, ESPN) UAB (8-4) vs. Ohio (8-4) Crappy picks this one because, well, duh, his Bobcats are playing in the Bahamas … in someone's backyard? Also, kudos to zombie UAB for simply making a bowl appearance this year. (We're still waiting for our travel agents to call us back …) Cactus Bowl (9 p.m. ET Tues., Dec. 26, ESPN) Kansas State (7-5) vs. UCLA (6-6) Carla picks this one because, well, offense. And Bill Snyder is a wizard … and none of us is sure who is actually coaching UCLA in this game. Not quite #Pac12AfterDark, but fun nonetheless. New Era Pinstripe Bowl (5:15 p.m. ET Wed., Dec. 27, ESPN) Iowa (7-5) vs. Boston College (7-5) Braden's pick, because who doesn't want to watch Iowa and Boston College play (actually pretty boring) football in a baseball stadium? Foster Farms Bowl (8:30 p.m. ET Wed., Dec. 27, FOX) Arizona (7-5) vs. Purdue (6-6) AJ has declared this the official #CnCShow #Pac12AfterDark selection … because offense. Also, Rich Rodriguez versus Jeff Brohm? We're salivating already. Yep, this one gets pointsy …and Gus Johnson, which makes this a win-win in our books. Valero Alamo Bowl (9 p.m. ET Thurs., Dec. 28, ESPN) No. 13 Stanford (9-4) vs. No. 15 TCU (10-3) Jake's pick because he obviously wanted to hear us talk about the #CnCShow's Stanford Postulate of 2017 one more time… and also because he wanted to talk about an actual, real football game. Because this one will be … and will be real fun. As always, we're incredibly grateful to Braden, Jake, and David for taking the time out of their busy schedules to get ridiculous with us each year. The #CnCShow will be back with our first of two College Football Playoff preview shows at the end of the month. Happy holidays … and enjoy this most wonderful football time of the year!
Chavez and Hanna bring you this week's pod, talking Chip Kelly's latest staff hires and recruiting, coaching carousel craziness around the Pac-12, LiAngelo Ball's withdrawal from UCLA, an early Cactus Bowl preview, and NCAA championship #114.

We wrap up with our detailed keys to the game.
It may be the bowl break, but there's no shortage to discuss on the new Speak of the Devils. We open with a breakdown of the big story: Mike Norvell's departure to Memphis. We talk with insider Hod Rabino of DevilsDigest.com to find out what is going on during the search for a new offensive coordinator and who are the names to watch. How will Norvell's departure impact the future? Good point. We talk with ASU's talented freshmen quarterbacks Bryce Perkins and Brady White to get their reaction. Then it's time to go bowling as we take an early look at ASU's Cactus Bowl date with West Virginia, before we check the stars and mostly snubs of the official All-Pac-12 teams. Next up is a talk with wide receiver D.J. Foster. The senior shares his thoughts on Norvell's departure, what went right and wrong in 2015, and his favorite memories of his career.
