We're joined by Pet Industry Nutrition consultant, Caroline Griffiths, who is the founder and organiser of the the Natural Dog Expo. Now in its second year the conference takes place on Sunday 5th May, with Caroline's track record of delivering events that help empower pet owners / guardians as natural health is a blossoming subject not only in human health, but for dogs too! The demand for a second event to build on the huge success of last year's conference is perhaps triggered by owners wanting to transfer their own interests in eating unprocessed foods and/or opting for complementary therapies to their dog. Other drivers could be owners/guardians having been ‘burnt' in the past perhaps by over medication, the long-terms effects of an overly processed sterile diet, or by discovering too late that dogs' do not need annual booster vaccinations. Ultimately the Natural Dog Expo offers a community of like-minded people, driven by their passion for health, overall wellness and longevity. Its aim is to help people navigate the sector highlighting why natural solutions work, where to look, what their dog needs and who to trust. This year the event is hosted by Anna. The conference delegates attend in real life to learn from the like of Dr Brendan Clarke, Dr Carol Hughes, Dr Adele Fitzpatrick BSc MRCVS and internationally acclaimed clinical canine Herbalist, Rita Hogan. We felt that it was necessary for us to give a little mid evening slap in the face for us to keep our eyes open. The next major national issue is on the cusp of its typical divisive strategy and in a country where the Church seems more reactive than proactive - we felt it necessary to get ahead of the curve. Whatever the next issue is, the tactics of the enemy is to eliminate from our homes, our communities, and our churches men. I don't just mean men in biology...but men whose identity is founded on the ultimate man - Jesus Christ. Men whose convictions are lead them toward protection and sacrifice; men who would find it no less than an honor to die beside their King. These are dangerous men...who are good. It is this class of manhood that is ultimately under attack. Even though we aren't at each other's throats per se over a specific issue right now...it is coming. The church will need men who are willing to wage war against the darkness through leadership, faithful preaching and daily dying. This is what the enemy hates. This week we're re-sharing one of our favorite podcast episodes, and we'll be back next week with an all-new show. Pat White is a longtime product manager for Kona Bicycles and Doug Lafavor aka Dr. Dew has been designing bikes at Kona for decades. In this episode we ask: Which factors make a hardtail ‘hardcore' or more aggressive compared to say an XC or entry-level hardtail? What are aggressive hardtails good for in terms of riding style or trails? What are the limits? How important is frame material when it comes to designing a hardtail? Is there one material that's generally superior to the others? Are there higher costs involved in building hardtails from steel than aluminum? Where does the compliance in a hardtail frame come from? Do you look at component selection differently for a hardtail vs. a full suspension bike? If so, what are the key areas where the builds differ? Is there any lingering debate about wheel size when it comes to hardtails? Are sliding dropouts an important selling point? What do you think about Internal cable routing on hardtails? There seems to be a focus on making seat angles steeper lately. How do you approach seat tube angles for hardtails compared to FS bikes? Are there things you're able to do with hardtail geometry that just aren't feasible with a FS design? How is the balance between chainstays and reach considered on a hardtail? For a lot of riders cost can be a factor in deciding to go with a hardtail. What does the typical hardtail rider look like? Do you own a hardtail mountain bike? How often do you ride it? What are some tips for riders to get the most out of a hardtail mountain bike? Do we need to modify our riding style, or reconsider preferences for things like tire and fork pressure? ✏️ A written transcript of this conversation is available to Singletracks Pro supporters: singletracks.com/support --Keep up with the latest in mountain biking at Singletracks.com and on Instagram @singletracks --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/singletracks/support

Pat White is a longtime product manager for Kona Bicycles and Doug Lafavor aka Dr. Dew has been designing bikes at Kona for decades. In this episode we ask: Which factors make a hardtail 'hardcore' or more aggressive compared to say an XC or entry-level hardtail?
