Born in Mexico City. Bosco Sodi has discovered an emotive power within the essential crudeness of the materials that he uses to execute his paintings. Focusing on the spiritual connection between the artist and his work, Sodi seeks to transcend conceptual barriers. In 2014 he founded the non-profit art centre Fundacion Casa Wabi in Mexico's Puerto Escondido. Alberto Ríos de la Rosa is a Mexican art historian. He currently serves as a curator at the PAC ART Residency in Houston and as curator of the International Biennial of Artsand Cultures of Antioquia for the World 2025, Colombia. His academic background includes a Master's in Art History from The Courtauld Institute of Art, London (2014), and a Bachelor's in Art History and French Literature from Macalester College, Minneapolis (2011).From 2014 to 2023, he worked as a curator at the Casa Wabi Foundation, where he curated solo exhibitions for artists like Daniel Buren, Michel François, Harold Ancart,Jannis Kounellis, Ugo Rondinone, Izumi Kato, Huma Bhabha, and Claudia Comte. He also directed the residency program in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca and Tokyo, facilitating participation of over three hundred art professionals from around the world in community projects. Additionally, he promoted emerging Mexican artists through thefoundation's exhibition platform in Mexico City.Previously, he was part of the curatorial teams at Museo Tamayo in Mexico (2011- 2013), the Minneapolis Institute of Arts in the United States (2011), and the PeggyGuggenheim Collection in Venice (2010). Through his work, he continues to make significant contributions to the field of art history and curation, fostering cultural exchange and promoting both established and emerging artists on an international scale.Fundación Casa Wabi is a non-profit, civil association that fosters an exchange between contemporary art and local communities in three locations: Puerto Escondido, Mexico City, and Tokyo. Sofía estudió Comunicación en la Ibero y Fotografía en el ICP de Nueva York. Ha trabajado en un montón de instituciones y galerías de arte. Fue residente en Casa Wabi y ha expuesto en solitario en diversos países. Es una brillante productora y locutora de radio y podcasts. Alva Mooses photographed by Mauricio Cortes Ortega at Shandaken Projects, Governor's Island 2023. Alva Mooses is an interdisciplinary artist. Her work explores the intersections of printed media, ceramics, and sculpture while engaging with earth-based materials to signal the memory of geological time. Her ceramic series titled ear to the earth/ culebra, truena, tormenta was exhibited at Jane Hartsook Gallery as part of her artist residency at Greenwich House Pottery. The slip-cast reconfigured globes move away from historical representations of the earth as a perfect sphere on a steady axis toward a transformative body—the pieces are glazed, distorted, mended, and kiln-fired multiple times. culebra, truena, tormenta translates to snake, thunder, storm, referring to the Mexica earth and mother goddess Coatlicue whose entire skirt, head, and belt represent snakes. The legendery 16th century Coatlicue statue was buried and unearthed multiple times since the Spanish conquest out of concern that the statue would inspire religious and political resistance; it now lives in the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City. The writer Mirene Arsanios describes Alva's ceramic globe series as: “Broken or no longer erect, the globe stands and their measuring systems are inoperative—the deconstructed globes undermine the project of western geography and the violence of its measuring tools, favoring instead a world, earth, and planet governed by the erotics of its own materials.” Alva holds a BFA from The Cooper Union and an MFA from Yale University. She has exhibited her work in the U.S., Latin America, and Europe. She has completed fellowships and residencies at the Lower East Side Printshop, Shandaken Projects, Socrates Sculpture Park, Center for Book Arts, Greenwich House Pottery, The University of Chicago, Tou Trykk in Stavanger, Norway, and Casa Wabi, in Oaxaca, Mexico, among others. Tomás Díaz Cedeño (b. 1983, Mexico City) lives and works in Mexico City. Most recently his work has been shown in a solo exhibition at Silke Lindner (New York) and featured in the group exhibition Equis, I Griega, Zeta at Anonymous (New York). Alejandro García Contreras. Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico. Su labor creativa se caracteriza por la experimentación y dialogo entre distintos materiales y recursos técnicos, haciendo de su trabajo una mezcla entre distintos medios como pintura, escultura, fotografía, video y grafica. La temática de su obra está ligada con su personalidad. Atreves de sus proyectos artísticos explora tópicos y temas inspirados por la cultura popular contemporánea, el folklore mexicano, el mito, el ocultismo y religión. Estudio la carrera de Artes Visuales en la Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado ENPEG/La Esmeralda. En 2006 ganó el premio WTC Artes. Su primera exposición individual “Stardust we are, stardust we will be” fue presentada en la galería Proyecto Monclova en 2007. Miembro de SHOWCAVE Gallery, en Los Ángeles California, 2008-2012. De 2010 a 2011 dirige LAC Laboratorio de Artes de Chiapas. En 2011 se integró a “NETER”, iniciativa dedicada a promover el trabajo de artistas mexicanos a nivel local e internacional. En 2013 fue invitado al programa de Residencias Atelliers de Creation de la Galeria “Les Territories” en Montreal, Canadá. Ese mismo año presenta su primera exposición individual fuera de México, en PS Projectspace, (Ámsterdam, Holanda). En 2015 "Nuevos Dioses", proyecto en colaboración con Josee Pedneault fue presentada en Typology Gallery en la ciudad de Toronto, Canadá, como parte del Scotiabank International Photo Festival 2015. Acreedor en 2 ocasiones de la Beca FONCA/Jóvenes Creadores. En 2016 fue invitado al programa de residencias Casa Wabi. Ese mismo año, inicia Residencia Dedazo, en Carrillo Puerto, Chiapas, México. En 2019 fue invitado como residente a Unlisted Projects en Austin Texas, donde presento la exposicion “Invisible Empire”. Su trabajo es actualmente representado por la Galeria “The White Lodge” en Argentina, y recientemente por Eitoeiko en Japón. En México ha presentado su trabajo en espacios como el Museo de Arte Moderno, Ex colegio de San Ildefonso, Museo Ex/Teresa, Centro Nacional de las Artes, Museo Universitario del Chopo, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Monterrey, entre otros. Al igual que en galerías como La Refaccionaria, Proyectos Monclova y Galería Luis Adelantado. Ha exhibido su trabajo en E.U.A., Suecia, España, Argentina, Holanda, Canadá, Inglaterra, Alemania, Suiza, Dinamarca, Irlanda, Italia, Japón, Colombia y Perú. Si bien su labor creativa se ha caracterizado por la experimentación y el dialogo entre variados materiales y recursos técnicos, la temática del trabajo de Alejandro Garcia se mantiene en un eje constante fuertemente ligado a su personalidad; se trata de una amalgama de ciencia ficción, la mitologia y el lenguaje visual del comic, la musica rock, y diversos mitos urbanos como factores de interpretación y codificación personal de la realidad. Alejandro Garcia encuentra en dichos ambitos interpretaciones contemporáneas de los mitos y factores que definen lo humano, con toda su grandeza y sus aspectos vulnerables , donde los idolos del rock son como estrellas que caen desde el firmamento, las actrices porno representan la antigua dicotomía aversión/deseo, los (super) heroes no logran ocultar la futilidad de su realidad fantasiosa y los grandes sistemas de poder se revelan, al final, como ilusiones impregnadas de fragilidad humana. Inca es Venezolano, llego a México muy joven y ya no pudo romper el vínculo con México, ha colaborado con Tadao Ando y Alvaro Siza en Casa Wabi. Su práctica arquitectónica se basa en la investigación y restauración para a partir de ahí, proponer nuevas formas de vivir.

Pedro Lasch (Mexico/US/Germany) is a visual artist, Duke professor, and 16 Beaver organizer. He is also director of the FHI Social Practice Lab at Duke.
