If you're curious about how the movie might differ from the original script, or how Russo had a darker take on a sequel to NotLD, check out this episode.
On the latest episode of the Cult Film Club, co-host Jaime takes Shawn and Paxton to a remote desert community to experience some shocking Tremors!
What's up, dudes? Merry Dinosaur Day! The Tyrannos decide to spoil it for Bonehead by telling him Stego-Claws isn't real. Consequently, the dejected dino refuses to go back home for the holiday. Luckily. He's visited by the actual Stego-Claws who takes him and David on a trip to deliver presents on Reptilon in his sledosaucer pulled by Rude Ralph the red-nosed rhamphorhynchus. The Tyrannos ambush the trio at Stego-Claws's workshop. Using furball elves and Bonehead's devolved pachycephalosaur self, the trio escapes and delivers presents to good dinosaucers. At another house, they again encounter the Tyrannos, and again, with Stego-Claws's magic, they defeat them. Bonehead and David return to Earth, and, with renewed belief, Bonehead joins his friends for Dinosaur Day.Stego-Claws? Check. Rude Ralph? Yep. Saucertoe? Well, they don't have missiles on Reptilon! What's up, dudes? It's a St. Patrick's Day Christmas when Shawn Robare from Cult Film Club, Crestwood House, and Plastic Rocket Pop and I talk the 1981 Rankin Bass special “The Leprechaun's Christmas Gold!” Written by Romeo Muller, it was originally conceived as a St. Patrick's Day special, but was retooled and released in December instead. Oh, and the word Christmas is just thrown into random sentences. One hundred years ago, two leprechaun clans existed. Their gold, unfortunately, attracted the banshee Old Mag the Hag, who used her shapeshifting abilities to cause a rift between the clans. Blarney Kilakilarney, leader of the gold-mining faction, asks Patrick, Lord of the Leprechauns for help. Subsequently, he tricks Mag into turning to tears, and Blarney plants a pine cone atop her puddle. The pine cone, taken from a tree planted by St. Patrick himself, grows into a beautiful tree. Meanwhile, present day sailor Dinty Doyle chops down the tree to use for Christmas. The oblivious boy accidentally releases the banshee, who immediately resumes her quest for gold. Consequently, Blarney gives the gold to Dinty, who is almost instantly tricked by the banshee into giving it to her. Luckily, she doesn't reach it by Christmas morning and turns to tears! Weird, right?!Powerful leprechaun wizard lord? Check. Weather controlling shape shifting banshee? Got it. Brightly colored clogs made by the O'Clogjiggers? Yes, but only if they can be distributed amongst the Irish people! So grab your gold, dig up your Christmas tree, and sail into this episode on “The Leprechaun's Christmas Gold!”Cult Film ClubFB: @CultFilmClub Twitter: @CFCPod IG: @cultfilmclub Check us out on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Totally Rad Christmas Mall & Arcade, Teepublic.com, or TotallyRadChristmas.com! Something special's gonna come your way when Shawn Robare from Cult Film Club, Crestwood House, and Plastic Rocket Pop and Sean Sotka from the Christmas Podcasts Podcast join me to talk “Kids, Incorporated!” They even had a New Year's Eve special where they rock in the New Year!In this Dec 31st clip show, Kids, Incorporated are rehearsing in the garage when Riley breaks the bad news. Apparently, his latest invention exploded and covered The P*lace in ice cream! Everything is ruined, and the New Year's Eve party must be canceled! Despondent, the kids reprimand him and begin to sulk when Stacy finds their old New Year's resolutions. As they comb through each others' resolutions, they reminisce about particular instances: Ryan trying to fit in, Renee attempting to be a better sister, Gloria getting her tonsils removed, the Kid stealing Gloria's fame, and Stacy helping a has-been trombone player. The kids realize that their friendship has gotten them through hard times, and apologize to Riley. Luckily, as the plot demanded, Riley found a substitute venue and the party is back on! The special consists of 2 episodes of the show, ‘Double Trouble' and ‘Master Blaster Brat.' All the licensed Phil Collins, Stevie Wonder, etc., music was removed and replaced with generic Christmas songs. In ‘Double Trouble,' while exploring the tunnels of South Plumbington, the band goes down a drain and is attacked by a giant plunger. They find a message in a bottle and decide to rescue the sender. When they go to free him, they find out that they have rescued Laster Blaster, Master Blaster's identical twin brother. Master Blaster had imprisoned him so that he could take his place as treasurer of South Plumbington and get the town treasure. Master Blaster just needs to find the key to the vault. Once he does, Whiz forges a duplicate key, and Glitter switches them. Laster approaches the town to win his rightful place back as treasurer. Master Blaster still steals the treasure, only to find out the treasure is shower heads! The Copy Cats accidentally turn Master Blaster into a toddler. They wicked youths immediately transform nearly the entire town, including Whiz and Carla. While Glitter babysits, Kidd and Ash seek out the sorceress Xenia who possesses a magic aging ray. On this special Halloween episode of the Cult Film Club, co-host Shawn drags Jaime and Paxton into the world of the Neon Maniacs! This 1986 horror flick is kind of obscure, but has enough fun junk to make it kind of a cult classic. Featuring 12 monstrous killers stalking a handful of local San Francisco teens, the film is full of weird gore, neon goop, and a score and soundtrack right out of a John Tesh concert.
Crestwood house is entering the final leg of the 3rd season and for these last three episodes hosts Shawn, Michael and Paxton are inviting guests onto the show to pick some of their favorite classic horror films. After seducing him, she convinces him to help her and her husband Michael get their inheritance. Jay will break in Michael's mom Lillian's house scaring her enough to move to a nursing home so Diane and Michael can move in. Jay breaks in, but is chased away by Lillian. An unknown assailant then kills Lillian. Meanwhile, Jay's ex-girlfriend is killed by a man in a Santa Claus suit in a play room decorated for Christmas. As suspicion falls on the trio, blame and thoughts of revenge are thrown around. Oh, yeah, and there's an incestuous love child step-brother of Michael hiding out somewhere. Forgot to mention that. Long story short, Michael is killed and Jay and Diane inherit everything and fly off to Hawaii.Killer Santa? Check. Evil long lost brother? Yup. Awkward love scenes? Definitely! Welcome to the Final Season of the Trash Tapes podcast! As part of the journey to finally giving the podcast a proper send off, we kick off with the granddaddy of camp trash, as the boys take on 1981's Joan Crawford Biopic 'Mommie Dearest'. On this melodramatic episode, Johann is joined by Ed to see how this biopic is both a horror film and an unintentional comedy. From Faye Dunaway's method acting, the sheer drama, the ropy dialogue, the horror of child abuse, the production stories, its connection to the LGBTQ+ Community and THAT infamous scene... So much is happening! But is this camp classic the biggest mother of them all or is it just a nightmare? Come along and scream with us! NO WIRE HANGERS!Want to join the Cult Film Club? Pax, CT, Jaime Hood (www.shezcrafti.com and Cult Film Club), and William Bruce West (www.williambrucewest.com) review the sitcom greats (?) of the 90s. This episode asks and occasionally answers the hard hitting questions that everyone has wondered about. Why were Uncle Jesse and Uncle Joey still living with the Tanner family? How on earth did Saved By The Bell: The New Class last 10 seasons? Why is the finale to Seinfeld so damned important? What is French Stewart's tour de force performance? Which 90s sitcom character would we want to take the place of, date, or have for a neighbor? Not to be left out, our TV driven Nerd To-Dos include the Larry Sanders Show, Game of Thrones, Burn Notice, and The Walking Dead comic.
