Although Brisbane hardcore outfit Tetrament have been slaying them on the local touring circuit for a little while now, the band has yet to release their debut single to reach the ears of more than those standing in front of them. They have built a fearsome reputation on the back of their frenetic and intense live performances, progressively drawing larger numbers each time their name is attached to a show.Today, the band looks to further their reach with the release of their first single Lifeless, a short, sharp, aggressive burst of energy that neatly wraps what Tetrament have to offer in one chaotic package.Vocalist Matty and guitarist Sammy joined HEAVY to chat about the track.“Basically we had a couple of choices of songs to go for when it came to our first release and we thought we'd go for something short and heavy, kick the door in style,” Matty offered. “I had the lyrics and Sammy played a riff that blew my tits off when I first heard it and we mashed them together and came out with what we thought was a pretty banging track. It was a quick one and we thought it would make a good starting point.”“Kind of like a train derailing," Sammy added, laughing. In the full interview the boys talk us through Lifeless, the lyrical content, choosing a debut single, the process for selecting a song to represent the band, having Clint Vincent from Dead Letter Circus mix and master the song, their upcoming EP and more.Intro track MASSIC 'Devolve'

Ballarat alt/progressive metal prodigies Ebonivory are one of the new wave of bands that has it's eclectic nature as it's core ingredient.Their mixture of alternative rock, progressive metal, post-hardcore and modern punk all under one banner is an unusual combination but one which blends seemlessly into a fresh sound that has seen them build a strong following."It's interesting," laughed frontman Charlie Powlett when pressed on Ebonivory's unique sound. "Its sort of just how I write music from all of my influences and growing up with a lot of radio rock and Australian rock, like Powderfinger and Grinspoon and then later on finding progressive rock and progressive metal then channelling it all into this one unified sound."After spending the early parts of this year touring the country as a support act, Ebonivory is preparing to embark on their maiden headlining tour to promote upcoming songle 'Tales of Termina', with Powlett admitting the closer it gets to fruition the more real it becomes."Its a mixed bag," he said "We were really nervous but now that it is getting closer we are getting more pumped. We're really excited to be getting out there and play more shows."After opening for Dead Letter Circus and Circles, Powlett admits that the step up in responsibility to a headlining performance is significant. "This time a lot of the pressure is on us to give it all we've got," he conceeded. "When you're playing under such huge acts you can get in the mindset that the show is about them but this time all eyes are on us."In the full interview Charlie talks about learning from more experienced bands on the road, their recent performance at Wallapalooza, how important smaller, more localised festivals are to Australian bands and music, new song 'Tales of Termina', his early vision for the band, their next release, future plans and more.’TALES OF TERMINA’ AUSTRALIAN TOURSaturday, September 14: Wallapalooza, Mudgeeraba (Gold Coast)Saturday, October 5: Black Bear Lodge, Brisbanewith Sum Of Us, Motions & Patient Lounge Friday, October 11: Crown & Anchor, Adelaidewith Heartline & Jack BolingbrokeSaturday, October 12: The Workers Club, Melbournewith Special Guests, The Last Martyr, Vatic & In VanityFriday, October 18: The Factory Floor, Sydneywith setmeonfire, Reliqa & Infinite Illusion Tickets from wildthingpresents.com/tickets

Gab & Jam Episode 43 Musical Discoveries V2.0 Description This episode is a follow-up to our first Gab & Jam episode (https://youtu.be/pqObIeyy5FA ), which nearly a year and a half ago. As we worked on the “research” for this episode, I noticed a common thread with at least half of the artists represented here and that’s they represent some sort of cultural, ethnic, or racial mixture, and for the ones that don’t meet that criteria, there is usually a musical or a genre mix happening. We will try to point out those “mixings” as we share them and their music with you. FYI: Most of the “research” came from Wikipedia (which although is NOT a reliable source, but is the first stop often when trying to understand something or someone). Recommended Tracks (from this episode): 1. Mitski, “Nobody” 2. Meklit, “You Are My Luck” 3. Stromae, “Papaoutai” 4. Cake, “Love You Madly” 5. You know what's great about Australian music? When the band are talented and dedicated to the cause, their legacy lasts a lifetime and they just continue to get better with age. That's one of the things we love about Dead Letter Circus who started out opening for bands like The Butterfly Effect, Linkin Park and Chevelle to becoming a household name and heading out of their own, large-scale headline tours and even scoring a slot on events like Big Day Out, Pyramid Rock, Sounds of Spring and more. The band are back with a brand new self-titled album and frontman Kim Benzie joins the podcast this week as our special guest co-host, chatting about the antics the band get up to in studio and flashing back to the time he joined Deftones onstage at Big Day Out after beating Chino Moreno in a game of table tennis, only to stuff up his part in hilarious fashion. Plus it's been a huge week for news with Download Festival announcing their 2019 Australian lineup with plenty of heavy acts to please even the biggest critic and podcast host Browny also discusses the backlash Avenged Sevenfold copped from fans with their new song, which they surprise released last week. There's also a stack of proggy-goodness tracks to tide you over from Polyphia, Voyager, Circles, TesseracT, Karnivool, Dream Theatre and Cog, New Music from Code Orange, Reliqa and Beartooth + heaps more #WoSUATW #DeadLetterCircus #DLC #KimBenzie #AustralianBands #ProgRock #ProgMetal #Prog #Polyphia #Circles #TesseracT #DownloadFestivalAU #DLAUS2019 #OzzyOsbourne #CodeOrange #TheButterflyEffect #TBE #Cog #Karnivool #Voyager #DreamTheatre #Deftones #AvengedSevenfold #A7x #Reliqa #Beartooth #MusicPodcast #WallOfSoundAU

There's something about the Scottish accent that draws you in and sometimes makes you wonder "_what the fuck are they talking about?_" But when they sing, it's a completely different scenario and that's how I feel about **Biffy** **Clyro**, a trio who have been making music together for the better part of the past two decades and in that time accumulated a somewhat mainstream/underground following in the process. They're big outside of Australia but they've still got a large enough following down under to get them here for an East Coast Tour kicking off next week.
