Interview by Angela CroudaceFor more than three decades, Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale has weathered the highs and lows of the music industry, but the band's current resurgence feels less like a comeback and more like the reward for years of persistence.Speaking ahead of Bush's Australian tour this September alongside Shinedown, Rossdale reflects on the band's renewed popularity, comparing success to a carousel that eventually brings artists back into the spotlight. "You've got to keep going," he said. "As long as you stay on and do your best, there's a chance it comes back around again."Rossdale credits Bush's longevity to a simple philosophy: focus on your craft, stay likeable, and never stop improving. Despite selling millions of records worldwide, he admitted the uncertainty never disappears, recalling conversations with actor Keanu Reeves that reminded him even the most successful people still wonder what comes next.Away from music, Rossdale has also found success with his cooking and interview series, which he hopes to continue with a second season. He described the show as an opportunity to reveal the human side of well-known figures. As for Bush's upcoming Australian dates, Rossdale is eager to return, promising fans a refreshed setlist featuring deeper cuts alongside the band's biggest hits. First up, the team walks through the Kyle Busch timeline — from his ask for a "shot" at Watkins Glen three weeks before he died, to the orthopedic PA who likely administered it, to the cascade of bad decisions and biology that turned a viral illness into fatal sepsis in someone too tough and too fit to take his own symptoms seriously. May and Tim unpack why young, hyper-conditioned athletes are uniquely vulnerable to missed diagnoses, why the pneumonia vaccine isn't actually what most people think it is, and why MRSA — not strep pneumoniae — is the bug worth fearing when sepsis sets in. It's a BS-free conversation about masking symptoms with steroids, the perils of "playing through it," and the simple at-home tools (thermometer, pulse ox) that could save a life. Then the mood shifts. May and Tim mark their 34th wedding anniversary and the Triumph concert that brought them full circle to the Rick Emmett song that was supposed to play at their wedding — and didn't, because the friend who was going to sing it was at a funeral that week (a story so dark and strange you have to hear them tell it). They riff on Shinedown, the Columbia River jet ski incident that exposed how fast "I'd die for you" turns into "get off the jet ski," and what 34 years of staying married has actually taught them: that romance is the bonus, not the foundation, and the practical, unsexy work of meeting each other's needs is what keeps people together. Plus a few words on Ormina water, Memorial Day, and where they're headed next. — What's Covered in This Episode The Kyle Busch timeline: from the Watkins Glen "shot" to fatal sepsis in a matter of hours Why being young, fit, and high-pain-tolerance can be a liability when an infection turns serious What that mystery shot probably was — and how steroids can mask the symptoms you most need to feel The truth about the "pneumonia shot" (hint: it's actually a strep vaccine) Why mycoplasma, chlamydia, and MRSA — not strep pneumoniae — are the names you should know Heart attacks, sinus infections, and the very human habit of ignoring symptoms until it's too late Why a $30 pulse ox and a basic thermometer belong in every household Ebola season, Hanta virus decorations, and Tim's running commentary on viral panic cycles 34 years of marriage: what's actually kept Tim and May together The Triumph concert, the Rick Emmett song, and the wedding-week funeral that changed the plan Shinedown, separate vacations, and why time apart can be a sign of a healthy marriage The Columbia River jet ski incident: how a near-drowning rewrote their idea of "till death do us part" Arranged marriages, the "right enough" partner, and why staying married isn't romantic — but it works Memorable Moments "Pneumonia used to be called the old man's friend — but it's not picking old men anymore." "If you had a cold, you'd think you were dying. But when you're having a heart attack, you think it's heartburn and you ignore it." On the so-called pneumonia shot: "It's not a pneumonia shot. It's a strep bacteria vaccine that we marketed as one." "Staying married is not romantic. The principles that keep you married are not romantic. They're practical." On the jet ski: "We would have clawed each other's eyes out to get out of that freezing cold water. So much for Titanic." "You're not gonna find the right one — because you're not the right one either. There's right enough." Shinedown guitarist Zach Myers talks about the band's new album EI8HT, touring, AI Music and the influences that shaped his life as a musician.Listen to Primordial Radio 24/7https://links.primordialradio.com/listenChatting with presenter Adam Whalley, Zach says the album, which features 18 tracks and is due for release on 29 May 2026, is “the most Shinedown record we've ever made”. He discusses why EI8HT feels like the end of one chapter for Shinedown, why creating a setlist is so hard when you have 24 number one songs, and why physical albums and vinyl are still important to him in the streaming age. He also gives a blunt take on musicians using AI to write songs, recalls the impact of Garth Brooks, U2, The Beatles and Paul McCartney, and reveals the thinking behind Shinedown's Lunatic Ball Beach Weekend Festival.ONLINE Website - https://primordialradio.comDiscord - https://primordialradio.com/discordYouTube - https://links.primordialradio.com/youtubeSpotify Playlist - https://links.primordialradio.com/spotifySOCIALFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/primordialradioInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/primordialradioTikTok - https://tiktok.com/@primordialradioMETAL FOR GOOD CHARITYCheck out our chosen charity, Metal For Good, and the great work they do - https://metalforgood.org

Interview with Dave Rosenfeld (guitar) from Black Rose Rebellion. New Jersey hard rock band BLACK ROSE REBELLION who are releasing their new album, Hail The Rebel Queen, on May 29th via Pavement EntertainmentCurrent Singles: Hail The Rebel Queen (Releasing May 29th) For Fans Of: Halestorm, In This Moment, Shinedown, Evanescence, The Pretty Reckless Black Rose Rebellion is a modern hard rock band forged from strength, power, and rebirth. The Black Rose itself symbolizes major change, hope, and optimism—core themes reflected in both the band's music and the personal journeys of its members. The rebellion was born in June 2022, when frontwoman Trybe and lead guitarist/co-writer Dave “The RockDoc” Rosenfeld—complete strangers at the time—were each on the verge of walking away from music altogether. Introduced by a mutual friend despite coming from entirely different worlds, their connection sparked an immediate creative rebirth and laid the foundation for Black Rose Rebellion. Hailing from both the northern and southern halves of New Jersey, USA, the band has developed a powerful, genre-blending sound influenced by decades of rock and metal, while maintaining a bold, modern edge. Beyond the music, Black Rose Rebellion represents a brand built on individuality, resilience, and self-belief—encouraging listeners to stand for who they are and what they believe in. Lead guitarist Dave “The RockDoc” Rosenfeld has been a lifelong musician while simultaneously building a successful and highly decorated career as one of New Jersey's top dental practitioners. His precision, intensity, and passion translate seamlessly from profession to performance. Inspired by her husband's ambition and love for music, Karen “Kar Rose” Rosenfeld joined as drummer and co-founder. Her impeccable timing, hard-hitting power, and dynamic, lyrical playing make her the unmistakable heartbeat of the band. Frontwoman Trybe grew up immersed in music, studying piano and clarinet while deliberately avoiding the family tradition of guitar and drums. After a challenging transition following 13 years of service in the United States Army—serving in the JAG Corps, Operation Enduring Freedom, Civil Affairs, and later as a Drill Sergeant—she rediscovered music as a source of purpose and healing. A self-taught vocalist, her voice became her weapon, forging the commanding, powerhouse identity that defines Black Rose Rebellion. Brooklyn-born bassist Michele Mayhem brings a fierce, authentic rock edge shaped by years of live performance. Known for her powerful stage presence and grounded intensity, her experience and energy add a commanding dimension to the band's sound. Black Rose Rebellion came out of the gate strong, performing at some of New Jersey's most prestigious venues and directly supporting artists such as Sponge, Spread Eagle, and other rising national acts. With their debut album set for release in the near future, the band continues to grow its loyal following—The Rebel Army. S9E21 went out on the 21st of May 2026 LIVE from the TSORR Myoli Beach Studios in the Western Cape. It was great to be back doing the show after last week's Wisdom Teeth episode. The Diabolical Challenge featured four bands from Germany: Scorpions, Accept, Rammstein, and Michael Schenker Group. In the Immortals slot, we had a great tribute to Ronnie James Dio, who passed away this week back in 2016. We listened to him in Rainbow singing 'Stargazer'. You should find it all pretty, pretty, pretty good. Parents everywhere know there's a level of frustration where you stop talking… and start blasting Huey Lewis in the garage like your life depends on it. This episode starts with Rizz admitting one of his kids pushed him so far over the edge that he had to activate the emergency happy playlist — and honestly, that may be the most relatable thing ever said on a daily comedy show. The gang dives deep into the songs guaranteed to rescue your mood, including Bermuda by John Linnell, “Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher,” “Power of Love,” “Stayin' Alive,” Wilson Phillips, Grateful Dead deep cuts, and enough Motown to heal emotional damage from modern life. Somehow the conversation turns into Michael Jackson hiding under your bed, CPR training from The Office, and whether Poison's “Nothing But a Good Time” should legally qualify as antidepressants. Then things escalate exactly the way they always do around here. There's major concert news with the Smashing Pumpkins launching a massive anniversary tour for Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness, plus Sonic Temple highlights featuring Shinedown, Daughtry, and Lzzy Hale absolutely crushing live performances. The crew also debates legendary tours after a “greatest concerts of all time” list sparks chaos because apparently U2 and Garth Brooks got disrespected so hard that Moon nearly launched himself through a wall.Speaking of questionable life decisions, Moon opens up about tattoo regret and realizing some of his old ink now resembles “a Walmart quarter-machine mistake.” The gang breaks down famous rock stars with zero tattoos, including Lars Ulrich, Alice Cooper, Trent Reznor, and Dave Mustaine. Meanwhile, Moon's tattoos are slowly evolving into what the show describes as “touched-up church Jesus art.” Honestly, no notes.Celebrity nonsense also reaches elite levels in this episode. Tom Brady apparently debuted a new look that made listeners compare him to Patrick Bateman, an animatronic billionaire, and a rejected Zoolander villain. The crew debates whether Brady's “perfect guy” magic is finally wearing off after another bizarre fashion appearance. There's also fake celebrity dating rumors involving Pamela Anderson and Tom Cruise, SNL madness with Chad Smith impersonating Will Ferrell, Paul McCartney showing up with new music nobody expected, and Casey Musgraves performing breakup songs on top of a washing machine because country music symbolism has fully left Earth. As always, this daily comedy show somehow mixes music nerdery, parenting meltdowns, celebrity gossip, nostalgic chaos, weird news, and absolutely unnecessary side conversations into one giant sarcastic fever dream. It's basically group therapy for people who laugh at inappropriate moments and still think “Stayin' Alive” is a medically useful song.If you love comedy podcasts, funny celebrity gossip, weird stories, sarcastic humor, music debates, and total morning show chaos straight out of St. Louis, this episode has everything except emotional maturity. And yes… somebody absolutely ends the show talking about porno birthdays. Deftones, Seether, Velvet Revolver, Breaking Benjamin, Shinedown
Welcome back to another completely normal episode of The Rizzuto Show—just kidding, nothing about this is normal. This daily comedy podcast kicks off with a hot ticket alert: Shinedown is playing a smaller venue than usual, which means chaos, desperation, and listeners risking their dignity (and phone numbers) for a shot at tickets. The stakes? Answer a simple question correctly… or unleash your number to the most unhinged audience on earth. No pressure. From there, things take a turn into the “wow, we've all been living a lie” category. The crew dives into iconic movie quotes that everyone thinks they know—but almost nobody actually gets right. We're talking Star Wars, Forrest Gump, Jaws, and more getting absolutely exposed. Turns out your brain has been remixing Hollywood history for years, and honestly? It's embarrassing for all of us.Then it's time for Crap on Celebrities, where nothing and no one is safe. Steve Miller goes full scorched earth on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, biopics get roasted (because apparently we needed MORE of those), and Hollywood casting choices get questioned like we're all suddenly critics with strong opinions.Oh—and just when you think the show has peaked, we bring in a conversation about animal therapy involving monkeys. Yes, monkeys. No, we didn't plan for it either. But somehow it turns into one of the most unexpectedly interesting parts of the entire episode, because that's just how this daily comedy podcast works. It's music, movies, celebrity chaos, weird news, and just enough nonsense to make you question why you listen… but also why you can't stop.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Originally Shinedown was set to play the Anderson, SC date, but they dropped off because they didn't want to “participate in something we believe will create further division.” Shortly after, that entire date of the tour was canceled. Speaking to Rolling Stone, Smith further addressed the decision saying: “We saw infighting that we had never seen before, and for us, it was our job to diffuse it. There were certain people that were not happy about [pulling back.] I will say that there was an overwhelming amount of people that agreed with the decision.… You're entitled to your opinion 1,000 percent in this country, and that's one of the beautiful things about it.” (Rolling Stone)Hosted by: Luke = https://www.youtube.com/@rockednet Alex = https://www.youtube.com/@voiceofalex

In this emotional segment of The Clay Edwards Show, host Clay Edwards honors the life and legacy of Brad Arnold, the iconic frontman of Three Doors Down, who tragically passed away after a battle with cancer. Clay revisits Brad's courageous announcement video from May 2025, shares touching personal stories from their encounters—including backstage hangs and band milestones—and reflects on Brad's unshakeable faith, humility, and pride in his Mississippi roots. With tributes from peers like Shinedown's Brent Smith and Dale Earnhardt Jr., Clay celebrates Brad as the state's top-selling rock act behind Elvis, urging listeners to crank up classics like "Kryptonite" and "Here Without You." Raw, real, and inspiring—no sugar added—as Clay calls for a lasting memorial and reminds us to cherish those around us before it's too late.
In this unfiltered episode of The Clay Edwards Show, host Clay Edwards dives into the aftermath of a lackluster Super Bowl, where the Seattle Seahawks dominated the New England Patriots 29-13. Clay breaks down the game's lowlights, standout performances like Sam Darnold's turnover-free run, and the MVP nod to defensive star Uchenna Nwosu. The real fireworks? The dueling halftime shows: Bad Bunny's divisive, colorful spectacle drawing criticism for being "woke" and disjointed, versus Turning Point USA's patriotic alternative featuring Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett—pulling in massive views and sparking debates on cultural divides. Clay also pays heartfelt tribute to Brad Arnold, the legendary frontman of Three Doors Down, who passed away after a battle with cancer. Sharing personal stories from his encounters with the band, Clay reflects on Brad's humility, faith, and impact as Mississippi's rock icon—second only to Elvis in sales. Tributes from peers like Shinedown's Brent Smith highlight Brad's genuine spirit and lasting legacy. Plus, thoughts on the NFL's global push, cultural rifts in entertainment, and a call for unity amid division. Strap in for raw takes on sports, music, and the soul of America—no sugar added.
One of the most overused bumper-sticker quotes during the Obama-era I heard while working at a gun counter was "If the founding fathers were still alive, they'd be shooting by now." Now, when the things they imagined would happen are actually happening, they are silent... or supportive. The irony, cowardness and hypocrisy would be a lot funnier if American's weren't getting gunned down in the streets. Jake and Geoff talk broadly about the Pretti and Good murders. The seizing of 2020 voter data in Georgia. In a lighter segment, they talk about the most nonsensical song lyrics... Jake sings a Shinedown song. Geoff makes a bold claim about a movie series being the "best ever." Enjoy!

This week, I'm revisiting two of the year's biggest interviews with Shinedown's Barry Kerch and Eric Bass — offering a rare, behind-the-scenes look at one of modern rock's most enduring and innovative bands.First, Barry Kerch opens up about Shinedown's evolving sound over the past two decades, their approach to crafting unforgettable live setlists, and the stories behind the band's 2025 singles “Dance, Kid, Dance” and “Three Six Five.” He also shares insight into the emotional power of “A Symptom of Being Human,” Shinedown's commitment to philanthropy, and what fans can expect from Shinedown 8, set for release in 2026.Then, Eric Bass takes us inside his creative world — from joining Shinedown during The Sound of Madness era to producing the band's concept albums Attention Attention and Planet Zero. He also dives into his debut solo concept album I Had A Name, its companion graphic novel, and the stories behind songs like “Mind Control,” “Goodnight Goodnight,” and “Azalia.”Eric also revisits Shinedown's cover of Carole King's “I Feel the Earth Move” from The Warner Sound Live Room sessions and the Attention Attention B-side “ANWTD (A New Way To Die).” Plus, in a never-before-heard segment, he reflects on touring with Iron Maiden and KISS, and his first meeting with Wolfgang Van Halen (Mammoth WVH).Whether you're a lifelong fan or discovering their music for the first time, this exclusive double-feature interview pulls back the curtain on the passion, process, and creativity driving one of hard rock's most powerful and resilient acts.
