"Ed you're talking as if he were a human being!" Ed from 'The Film Effect Podcast' returns for his second dose of Halloween goodness by joining Sean to discuss the much-beloved? Halloween IV: The Return of Michael Myers (1988). Discussion Points: -Yes, Sean does these reviews just to do an impression of Donald Pleasence as Doctor Loomis. -Ed brings his best Steven Seagal impression. -The amount of love in the film community for this film. -Stew from Stew World Order sends in his rating for the film. -Ed brings fantastic trivia and insights into how the film was made. -Sean doesn't understand that Sheriff Brackett didn't move to the former Soviet Union. -Ed helps out put this film into context in the odd Halloween timeline(s). -Ed and Sean discuss an idea for why the mask is so white. -You're talking as if he were a human being Ed. -The pick-up shots to add more gore. -Loomis's change of direction. -The rushed production. -That uplifting ending. Raised Questions: -Do you consider this the second best instalment of the whole series? -Do you prefer the 'Earl and the Gang' or the 'Evil Dies Tonight lynch mob'? -Why can't Sean remember the Sheriff's name in this film? -Do you wish Halloween (2018) was called Halloween H40? -Would you watch Halloween: Overtime? -Is it generous to call this film a "smash sequel"? -Why does Ed keep talking as if Michael Myers were a human being? -Would you watch a Halloween film set in the summer with Michael sweating from his eye-holes? -Where were the risk assessments for that transfer ride? -Is it possible to discuss a Halloween film without discussing all the others? -Have you ever dipped your tie in coffee? -Would you watch Michael Myers versus The Winter Soldier? -What kind of a party where Rachel's parents at? Shout-Outs: -Josh from 'Talking SMAC (Superheroes, Movies, Animation and Comics) podcast. -The 'Stew World Order' podcast. -FilmFloggers' Halloween 4 review with Ben and Tom. Ed what happened in here? Tell me what happened, did Michael kill? Did Michael kill again? Sean is joined by Ed from The Film Effect Podcast to try and survive a viewing of Halloween Kills (2021). Discussion Points: -The Loomis appearance in the Halloween Night 1978 flashback sequence. -The decision to have Kills on the same night of Halloween (2018). -Sean still hasn't got over Rob Zombie's Halloween II (2009). -The return of characters from the original film. -Evil Dies Tonight. -The level of violence in Halloween Kills. -Sean keeps an unofficial tally of how many times 'Evil Dies Tonight' is said. -The film's brave overreach of trying to have a message about vigilantism and mob-rule. -Sean doesn't agree with FilmFloggers. Raised Questions: -Was the music Halloween (1978) almost too loud to bear? -Is Halloween II (1981) underrated? -Bird-calling? -Evil Dies Tonight? -Who asks people in a bar too quieten down? -Who goes back for a stethoscope? -Does the script let the film die tonight? -Did you recognise an actor who was in Austin Powers? -Did Jamie Lee Curtis get side-lined? -Why are they obsessed with that bloody window? -Is Sean only reviewing Halloween films so he can do his Loomis impression? Shout-outs: -Ben, Fiona, Dan and Tom over at 'FilmFloggers'. -Clayton and Shawn over at 'Men Who Like Men Who Like Movies' podcast. -Evil Dies Tonight? -Arthur from '2 Cents Critic'. -Paul from SP Filmviewers. EVIL DIES TONIGHT! We return to Haddonfield to start wrapping up our episodes on Halloween. This week we look back at a movie that sharply divided fans, Halloween Kills. Is it an over the top slasher that delivers some of the goriest entries in the entire series? Absolutely. Does it dip its toes into social commentary regarding mob rule, cancel culture and our inability as a society to think rationally in heightened situations in the most ham-fisted and convoluted ways imaginable? Yes it does. We look at these topics, the mixed messages on how this one defines The Shape as more than a man, and whether the lesser reputation of Kills retroactively damaged fans' feelings about the 2018 entry Mike is joined by Brian Keiper and Michele Eggen of the Movies For Life podcast for a spirited discussion.

Join Dan & Gavin as they talk about the love-fueled end of the new age Halloween trilogy, Halloween Ends. Unfortunately, we don't get any catchy phrases like "Evil Dies Tonight" getting thrown around every 10 minutes, but we do get some pretty sick kills. EVIL DIES TONIGHT, but like for real this time! Halloween Ends (2022) is the conclusion to the HallowGreen Requel trilogy. Was this the conclusion any of us were expecting? Not at all, was it the conclusion we needed that is yet to be determined. While this movie certainly is divisive, there are some great Halloween moments throughout that will stick with you through time. Was this a fitting end to this most recent trilogy? Would Corey actually lose in a fight to a bunch of 17 year old kids? Most importantly though, is it essential? For a literal calendar year, Travis and Dan have had to "save it for the pod." They had very different reactions when Halloween Kills was released last year and couldn't debate (argue? fight?) the merits of their perspectives until George was ready to hear it. Well, "Bad Takes Die Tonight" as Dan and Travis finally get to defend their positions. Will George pick a side? To give himself the best chance, George watched this movie twice in preparation. That's dedication! Then, George gets to chime in on his rankings of all of the Halloween movies he has seen. And finally, the guys discuss where they hope Halloween Ends will (and won't!) go when it is released on Friday, October 14, 2022. Will Travis manage to hold the goalposts in place long enough to make a cogent argument? Will George catch the root of the infamous "Evil Dies Tonight" phrase during his second viewing? Will Dan manage to "Dark Knight" himself into a subtext the guys didn't see coming? The Podcast Tries Tonight! Sequels always have a hard time carrying the torch; it's even harder when the first movie is as well-regarded as Halloween (1978). In 2018, Halloween returned to screens thanks to David Gordon Green, who very early on announced his intention to make a trilogy which would ignore the Rob Zombie reboot timeline. Fast forwarding, Halloween Kills premiered this year to love-it-or-hate-it reception. If you're a long-time listener, you know the 5th Wall are fans! We cover a this movie in a lot of detail so be warned: spoilers ahead!
Through the spookiness that Halloween brings, The Heroes continue to rise to the occasion. The speak recent Buzz Lightyear trailer, The MCU in the process of working on The Thunderbolts, Reviewing Ep 3 of Chucky, and My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission, with a non- spoiler review of Antlers. Plus a discussion on Horror Slashers and much more!!

EVIL DIES TONIGHT... or does it? Our Spooky Season Spectacular wouldn't be complete without a visit from a member of the slasher movie Mount Rushmore. Michael Myers returns to the town of Haddenfield, and it's up to the Strode Women alongside some old friends to stop the brutality in the newest addition to the Halloween franchise. Written by David Gordon Green (who also directed), Danny McBride, and Scott Teems, this movie lives up to it's namesake with all the kills and gore throughout. Per usual with in theater reviews, this episode has the spoiler free portion, and then the rest of the episode is nothing but spoilers with the gory details! Watch it on Peacock or see it in the theater, and listen/ share your thoughts on the next bloody installment in one of horror's most iconic franchises.
