You know we love our wrestling here at the BFE (well some of us...). Join Ian from Best Film Ever and Stew from The Stew World Order podcast as we break the BFE format by looking ahead to WrestleMania 41 which Stew will watch from Reliant Stadium in Las Vegas and Ian will watch from his couch at a horrendous time difference. We discuss whether the build has been good this year? Did that car crash of a segment help or hurt the Flair/Stratton feud? Why do so many of the booking decisions feel so predictable (and is that a bad thing?) We'll preview each match on the card as well as try to find space for Randy Orton among the festivities as we discuss how to build a character, how to build a feud, and where WWE goes after the big weekend. Join Ian from Best Film Ever and Stew from The Stew World Order podcast as we break the BFE format by counting down to chaos at WWE Royal Rumble 2025 from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. We discuss whether the Rumble matches delivered on surprises and storytelling—or if they were just a numbers game. Did WWE make the right call in crowning their Rumble winners? How did the championship matches shake up the road to WrestleMania? We also debate the physics of a luchador dodging an elimination, whether there's a limit on deferred gratification and the Greatest Royal Rumble's hybrid identity as both canon and non-canon. We'll answer all these questions and hand out post-event superlatives celebrating the night's best (and worst). This month, we're stepping into the squared circle to break down the very first Royal Rumble match, which aired on January 24, 1988, on the USA Network. While it wasn't a pay-per-view event just yet, this historic match laid the foundation for one of WWE's most beloved annual traditions. Join Ian and Stew as we revisit the 20-man battle royal that changed wrestling history. Does the original Rumble still hold up today, or does it feel like a rough draft of the chaos to come? Was it a revolutionary concept right out of the gate, or did WWE take a few years to truly perfect the formula? We'll examine the match's key storytelling choices—Did the right man win? How did the pacing and eliminations compare to future Rumbles? Was this truly the best way to showcase future main eventers, or was it just a fun TV special with little long-term impact? Also, our big burning questions this month: Was Jake Roberts super-over or was it the DDT that was super-over? Does Bret Hart work as a heel? Why would they put Bret in the first ironman slot as a heel. Also, why book him as a heel in Canada? We'll also take a closer look at the match structure and in-ring action—Did the 20-man format feel too small? How did the action flow without entrance music and countdown clocks? Were there standout performances, or was this more about the novelty than match quality? And did WWE miss an opportunity by not putting this on pay-per-view? Finally, we'll debate whether this first-ever Rumble is a must-watch piece of wrestling history or if it's more of a curiosity for hardcore fans. Was it a game-changer at the time, or just another battle royal with a fancy name? Tune in as 2CC properly embraces the holiday season with a full month of episodes to go along with that cheery theme! For this first week of December, Robert “Stew” Stewart (STEW World Order) is jumping back into his guest chair for a review and recap of The Nightmare Before Christmas, the 1993 stop-motion animation classic that takes us to Halloween Town and the shenanigans that its beloved king Jack Skellington cooks up after discovering the existence of Christmas. Screenwriter Caroline Thompson's frustrations with this movie and with the racism behind Oogie Boogie, the important reminder that Henry Selick (and not Tim Burton) directed the film, and a lyric in “Jack's Obsession” reminding Arthur of The Room stand out as a few of the subjects for this episode. Directed by Henry Selick, The Nightmare Before Christmas stars Chris Sarandon, Danny Elfman, Catherine O'Hara, William Hickey, Glenn Shadix, Ken Page, Paul Reubens, Edward Ivory, Debi Durst, Greg Proops, Kerry Katz, Randy Crenshaw, Sherwood Bull, Carmen Twillie, Glenn Walters, John Morris, and Joe Ranft. Join Ian from Best Film Ever and Stew from The Stew World Order podcast as we break the BFE format by getting ready for war in WWE Survivor Series: War Games from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. We discuss whether either War Games match actually had stakes and whether both of them even had a story. Did WWE do the right thing by having a third match in the Gunther-Damian Priest rivalry? Where does the WWE go in the aftermath of tonight's event? We also discuss how a birthday hat might not sync up with the supposed danger of the stipulation and discuss the differences between a kendo stick and a baseball bat. In this one-off special episode of Bigger Movie Pod, we pay tribute to our dear friend and fellow presenter, Dave. We are thrilled to have his daughter, Emma, joining us as our special guest. We are also pleased to welcome back Darren, our former presenter, as we say our farewell. What began as a duo blossomed into a podcast family of four, plus a whole community of friends. We had big plans for this episode, hoping to bring everyone together, but time was not on our side. Earlier this year, we received heartbreaking news about Dave. Leading up to this final show, we collected messages from the podcast community to share with him, including heartfelt words from Dan of Casting Views and a touching note from Nico of Silver Screen Dudes and Movie Mount Rushmore. A huge thanks goes out to PollyAnnamazing from Buried Pleasures, who connected with us like family, even reaching out to Dave directly—a gesture he truly appreciated. We also want to recognize Josh from TalkingSMAC, Stew from Stew World Order, Ian from Best Film Ever, The Vern from Cinema Recall, as well as Leo, Le-Than, Slinky, and Wes for all their support. And of course, a massive thank you to all of you, our listeners. Your support and enthusiasm have kept this journey going, and we could not have done it without you. So, tune in as we celebrate the laughs, the friendships, and all the memories that have made Bigger Movie Pod what it is. Thank you for being part of the ride!

We celebrate 8 whole years of podcasting by getting on two guests that Sam has had the pleasure of having previously been on both of their shows. Jason from Binge Movies (catch Sam on the episodes for Die Hard ripoffs and The Muppets) and Stew from Stew World Order (catch Sam on the Spider-Man episode) are here to discuss the "film" that is No Holds Barred. No words were barred either as we turn this episode into a "fark Hulk Hogan... and Vince McMahon too" and go deep into a movie that is about as deep as a teaspoon. After listening, why not ask the guys about their charity work, before they rip 'em. Featuring Q's like....Was Hogan's weak, ineffectual brother "Randy" a dig at Macho Man? If Hogan's manhood is 10 inches long, but Terry Bollea's is not, how long is Rips? What dialogue/scene was totally written by Hogan, and what was Vince? But of course the best questions are from our premier Patreons. Wanna join them and help shape the show? The revamped Review It Yourself continues. The podcast with the sigh. Film reviews for the eternally unimpressed. Sean goes it alone without Sarah, already!? I know. Sean is joined by Marv from the 'Pods Like Us', 'When They was Fab' and 'Toppermost of the Poppermost' podcasts to discuss the classic Ealing Studios film The Titfield Thunderbolt (1953). Will Sean and Marv remain unimpressed by the film? Discussion Points: -Marv describes how his Grandad introduced him to hours and hours of train films. -The heart behind the film, the classic British "small force against adversity" story. -The strength in a simple yet effective story. -A libellous, passive aggressive float: what's not to love! -An accidental shotgun shoot-out. -Sean enjoyed the film, so his notes are horrendous. -The subtle social commentary in the film. -Marv and Sean seriously discuss the social impact of closing a railway to a small village, and The Beeching Cuts (1963-1965). The Beeching Cuts were a series of major service changes and line closures, headed by Richard Beeching of the British Railways Board. Raised Questions: -Have they ever bettered Technicolor? -Is this one of the most quintessentially British films ever made? -Does the humour work if you live outside of the UK? -Is this film sweet or quaint? Was the film prophetic? -How had Sean never seen an Ealing film before? -A perfect film for a rainy day with a cup of tea, with cake and sandwiches? -Does the length of the film help with rewatch-ability? Podcast Shout-outs: -Stew from 'Stew World Order'. -Bill from 'Bill Reads Bad Reviews'. Sean and Marv will return to review Passport to Pimlico (1949). You know we love our wrestling here at the BFE (well some of us...). Join Ian from Best Film Ever and Stew from The Stew World Order podcast as we break the BFE format by looking at the SummerSlam card ahead of Saturday's big PPV card. We discuss whether Damien Priest is simply cosplaying as a world champion? What's Logan Paul done now that's embroiled him in controversy? When can injuries be blessing in disguise? Sean is joined once again by guests Stew from 'Stew World Order' and Kevin and Erin from 'The Podcast That Wouldn't Die' to continue the LL Cool J series! Get ready for the Podmageddon! Journey from Saffron Burrows accent to whatever accent Christian Bale is using this week. Discussion Points: -The CGI that has aged like milk. -Adults acting like teenagers. -Cheesy 90's dialogue. -Dramatic American News versus understated British News. -We get to Scene Two after 20 minutes. -Don't worry about the character's names. -The reasons why a character is introduced literally p*ssing in the wind. -The film trope of insulting the owner of the company that you work for. -The character with science on the brain, but lust in their eyes. -Smoking rules in the lab. -The sheer amount of company negligence on show here. -Only one single Floppy disks copy for this multi-million dollar research. Raised Questions: -How hasn't Stew seen this before? -Was LL Cool J under-used? -Did you know Thomas Jane actually swam with sharks? -What happened to Renny Harlin? -What is the earliest you've ever turned up for a podcast recording? -Who's Scott? -Does red wine attract sharks? -Who brings a teddy on a boat? -Why don't Americans believe the TV weather report? -Did you know Saffron Burrows was actually English? -Was Samuel L. Jackson "Way too chill"? -Why does every shark film take time to tell us that sharks don't like the taste of humans? -Is this film really about the power of thought? -How does a shark sneak in a corridor and turn on an oven? -Did you want the omelette recipe? -How uneven is the shift rota? -Is this film "damn near perfect", "fun nonsense" or "Turner & Hooch but with a parrot"?
