Today we're getting into a taboo topic - feminine hygiene. Ewww gross, periods!! I know, I know. I felt this way for a long time. In most societies, we're conditioned to believe that menstrual cycles are something to be embarrassed about or something that should be hidden and not discussed. But Nearly half of the Earth's population has, will have, or has had a menstrual cycle. It's what brings life to this planet, and it should be celebrated, or at the very least not treated like the plague. Since I've been environmentally conscious, I've examined every part of my lifestyle to see how I can be the most eco-friendly. I often encourage people to do a trash audit when they are first starting on their sustainable journey to see what kinds of things that are throwing away frequently. I'm sure most menstruating people would notice a bunch of pad or tampon wrappers in the trash every month. Reframe the way you speak to yourself in the middle of the issue. Instead of going towards a negative rout and talking to yourself like, “Why am I having such a hard time getting through this?” or “Why does this always happen to me?” or “How evil of this/that person” “This is so unfair”  Instead, try, looking at the discouragement as something that is happening for your benefit. “What is the reason this is happening for me?” “What can I take away from this?” “How will this serve me well moving forward?”  It's time to step out of the box and believe for more increase, more growth, more spiritual Growth, more vision, more ideas, more boldness, more creativity, more love, less fear. It will be a great benefit to you, to realize that there is no such thing as instant success or growth. There are no program of “one minute, to this” “three easy steps” to a life of____ “thirty days… to that” “21 steps to”: you fill in the blanks. _____________. Are these books, podcasts, YouTube videos, vlogs, etc. Helpful? Yes, I believe we can all learn from these resources for sure, But Damn it's hard when you are experiencing it and not just reading about it. You have to keep in mind, we have spent a life time developing patterns of ugly attitudes, ungrateful thinking, fear driven thoughts and bad behaviors, judgement etc. These bad habits will not be broken and replaced with good positive behavior and thinking without commitment and discipline. EWWW, those are like bad words now a days. Commitment discipline and obedience are like you are cursing someone out these days. It's almost like we have become discipline and committed in self-sabotage, self-pity, victim behaviors that are causing us to stay stuck and in Limbo within mental strongholds. We need to really fix our mind-flow, the way we let things flow in and out of our minds, regardless of how f-ed up the situation is. Discouragement is very contagious, like fear it will creep its ugly head in and before you know if you are knee deep in shit and are having a hard time finding your way around it. I am going through some very tough discouragement myself; the shit is real, but just in the last few days I've heard from 3 different people the same thing I tell my clients all the time. Be careful that you are making your resources your source. There is a difference between your resources (income, possessions, means) etc. and your source, (your foundation, your convictions and belief systems. ) I do believe God and know He has never left me even in the worst of times, being abused, being homeless, all of it. Now faced with some pretty tough decisions that can completely change my life, I am discouraged. So, I will cast my cares on God and know that He is bigger than my problems, my resources, my fear, my anxiety, my worry. So, what now. I DO NOT KNOW. Ask yourself: What are you thinking about? What is always on my mind? What am I watching? What am I listening to? Are you walking in some sort of fear? What kind of friends/associates do I have? § I always tell my kids, don't peck with the chickens when you can soar with the eagles. What I do know is that the way I chose to see this and experience this, will either be my biggest rising or my hardest journey. Because it is our choice to let something develop us or break us. I have been beaten, raped, abused, judged, diminished, forced, and threatened and I will not be broken. I will continue to stand, use my voice, and go through this so I can help others break the chains in their lives. Discouragement needs to go because it doesn't serve me well except to show me I need to change.

Start your year off with a BANG! Is it just me or do you feel the days from Christmas to New Years can feel a bit awkward? After all the hype with the holidays it can feel like a week of zoning out, but this week can be the most important part of the year so you can start the New Year off with a BANG! Five tips to Bring on the New Year Word of the year This has become my FAVORITE tradition as I get ready for the New Year. Ask, pray, meditate on what your word would be for the year. I started this about three years ago, and it still blows my mind how perfect each word has been for the year. Having a word for the year has helped me to have something to focus on as I work through different areas of life. Dream Board Dream boards have been something I have done for years, but last year was the first we sat down as a family to each do one on New Year's Day. We cut pictures and words from magazines, and wrote out goals and dreams we wanted to start to work toward!!! It was a great way to be present with family. I love the idea of starting this with our kids while they are young so it becomes second nature to them. It was so fun to hear what they were looking forward to that year. Camping, playing with friends, going to the beach were a few of Parkers goals this last year! Get Your House Ready Go through your rooms and see where you need to get organized. This is the week we take down our Christmas decorations, start vacuuming pine needles that I will continue to find for the next 364 days, and get the house cleaned. It feels so good! I am sitting here right now able to take a deep breath knowing I am one step closer to bring on the NEW YEAR! Now my office and desk area are a completely different story... I'll be getting to that next! Goals Ditch the New Year's Resolutions. You can search best New Year's Resolutions for 2020, but we all know they last for a matter of a month, and then they gone!! Seriously, start thinking of goals and setting your intentions for the New Year. Stop focusing on the silly "I want to lose ten pounds resolution" so you can fit back into those skinny jeans, and just go buy a new pair of jeans that rock the body you are currently in. Maybe you have a goal of waking up early. Great! Start planning how to make that happen. Maybe you want to start doing yoga? Where will you take classes, what time of the day are you planning on getting it in? Start thinking of these things. Be intentional this next week in planning our your schedule so you can wake up early, do yoga, pray, meditate, workout, make lunches, or what ever it is you plan on doing to make this next year GREAT! End the year on a high Just like we talked about organizing the house... It is time to wrap up those to-do lists that have been put off for like the whole year. Just me? If you can buckle down this next week, and start crossing off your list you will walk into the New Year without the baggage from last year. EWWW. No one wants to bring a bunch of crap from last year so girlfriend, sit down and get it done! Alright, I gave you all the details on making this year your best year!
