This week on High Noon with Inez Stepman, Danielle Crittenden of Femsplainers fame, and author of What Our Mothers Didn't Tell Us joins the pod to discus her wonderful essay, "When the Sexes Blur There's No Sex." Crittenden and Stepman talked about why young women find femininity and womanhood so unappealing to the point where ”transitioning” to the opposite sex is an attractive option, and how dating norms have accelerated to a point nearly everyone agrees is broken. They also chat about some of the original flaws of the feminist movement going back to the 1950s, and how feminist priorities have differed sharply from the average woman's over the years.--High Noon is an intellectual download featuring conversations that make possible a free society. The podcast features interesting thinkers from all parts of the political spectrum to discuss the most controversial subjects of the day in a way that hopes to advance our common American future.Hosted by Inez Stepman of Independent Women's Forum. You can listen to the latest High Noon episode(s) here or wherever you get your podcasts. After nearly four years and more than 150 podcasts, we've decided to shut down the bar. Original c-splainer Christina Hoff Sommers joins Danielle for reminiscences of favorite episodes and guests, how their views and politics have evolved, and what they'll do next. Cheers, everyone
The Femsplainers are on holiday so we are re-posting some of our favorite episodes: Whether you are 18 or 85, there's no reason you shouldn't be having great sex, says Dr. Bat Sheva Marcus, director of the largest sexual health center in the country. She dispels many myths about female sexuality and offers practical tips from her new book "Sex Points" -- while Danielle tries hard not to blush.
The Femsplainers are on holiday so we are re-posting some of our favorite episodes: This week, Candace Bushnell, the bestselling author and creator of Sex & the City, regales Christina & Danielle with stories of the wilds and lows of dating after fifty, including getting naked and "cubbing."
Therapist and author Ann Silvers, who specializes in the domestic abuse of men, reveals to Danielle that it's more widespread than you think. And it's not just physical. PLUS: Andrew Sullivan and Christina Hoff Sommers join for a cocktail (and a blunt) up top, in a snippet from the Femsplainers' recent appearance on the Weekly Dish.
I’ve been meaning to invite Christina Sommers and Danielle Crittenden on the pod since they first had me on theirs, Femsplainers, a few years ago. This week we talked about men and women, trans and cis, gay and straight, and they drank rosé and I smoked half a joint, as we did on their pod. At the last minute, we re-invited to the pod Danielle’s husband, David Frum, because we both wanted to hash out our differences over the Trump-Russia media coverage. (We first debated the issue ten months ago, and my column last week was in response to his latest in the Atlantic.) I think we may have made some progress in finessing where we differ, and why. But you be the judge. Get full access to The Weekly Dish at andrewsullivan.substack.com/subscribe

In this special episode (they're ALL special! And valid!) the opening Heterodorx theme song is sung by Corinna, who unwittingly promotes a new LGBT breakfast cereal before discussing a recent episode of 60 Minutes that invoked the fury of Kellogg's partner GLAAD (along with the ACLU, HRC, and other Men's Rights activists). Nina cries herself to sleep over Corinna's tragic and pathetic life; Corinna identifies as an Aquarius while Nina is Astro-nonconforming; and the Dorx are stumped by a puzzling question on Corinna's tennis lesson application. 60 Minutes “State Bills Would Curtail Health Care For Transgender Youth”: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/transgender-health-care-60-minutes-2021-05-23/ Corinna on Femsplainers (second half): https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/when-sons-become-daughters-part-one/id1366430955?i=1000522118038 GCCAN: https://www.gccan.org/ --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/heterodorx/support

Caitlin is a longtime writer at The Atlantic and the author of several books — the most recent is “Girl Land” — and she’s a frequent guest-host on the Femsplainers podcast. I’ve long been a super-fan.We share a Catholic faith and encounters with mortality, but Caitlin’s brushes with near-death have been far more acute than my own. Her extraordinary poise and deep humanity are on full display in our chat. I’m so grateful for her time. Get full access to The Weekly Dish at andrewsullivan.substack.com/subscribe
Christina Hoff Sommers and Danielle Crittenden respond to cancel culture, philosophy, equality feminism, the war on boys, and the perils of family law.
Christina Hoff Sommers is a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, where she studies the politics of gender and feminism—as well as free expression, due process, and the preservation of liberty in the academy. Christina is perhaps best known for her 1994 book Who Stole Feminism? How Women Have Betrayed Women, which was instrumental in giving a voice to those who dared to question rigid doctrines about women and men and the arguments feminists make that cause a rift between them. Christina's popular podcast, Femsplainers, which she co-hosts with author Danielle Crittenden, is described as a “weekly girl's night out, where Christina and Danielle "dish on everything from #metoo and sex to, well, doing the dishes.” Christina is like a friend who studies and does her homework before the party. She counters politically correctness with wit and charm. Her popular video blog, The Factual Feminist, has garnered more than 4 million views. I sat down with McConnell and Kane to discuss how marriage impacts dating and relationships and all the various setups possible and then we dive into a discussion of Tinder that was sparked by an interview with Jordan Peterson on Femsplainers (linked below). We also spent some time talking about the book, Selfie, which was a book club book for our Approach Mastery boot camp alumni that charts the evolution of the ideal self from the Greeks until the present moment of personal development, and even throws in some comparisons with Asia for good measure! As usual the conversation went on a lot of different bizarre educational and hilarious talents and you'll learn why we think Online game is bad for men, including: Who McConnell would trade lives with Kane's marriage setup (Yup, he's married!) Christina Hoff Sommers is a former philosophy professor and resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute. She’s one of the Femsplainers on the podcast Femsplainers and has a series called the Factual Feminist on YouTube in which she corrects feminist myths within women’s and gender studies with truth and solid research. She and Bridget cover the disturbing rise of contempt within contemporary feminism, the appeal of Jordan Peterson, the erosion of Americans’ desire to protect free speech and democratic processes, why lack of gratitude is such a problem in our society, and the perceived sense of persecution and contagion of hysteria that is being taught in liberal educational systems. They discuss the infantalization of college students, going from common humanity (humanism) to common enemy (tribalism), the attack on centrists, and the fact that history is one long lesson in the dangers of dogma mixed with moral zealotry, distortion and bad information – it leads to fanaticism. They also cover the gender debate, the power dynamics between girls and boys, and why Harvard should have known better. It’s a fascinating conversation and definitely one you shouldn’t miss!

On December 13, 2018, I was a guest on Femsplainers with Christina Hoff Sommers and Danielle Crittenden. By Grabthar's Hammer, what a tangent. This episode is almost about tabletop RPGs! Diana and Avalon talk about D&D, Pathfinder, White Wolf and World of Darkness, Warhammer, the demonic presence of Claire's novelty shops, Become Human, Nintendo, Critical Role and honestly so much more. This episode was a joy to record and a pain to edit so enjoy, Femsplainers!
It's time to be studious Femsplainers again. This time, Diana had to suffer through the offensive Clara episodes of Doctor Who, and the wildly emotional ride that is Sailor Moon. Avalon finally had a pleasant homework experience and is now firmly established as a Critical Role obsessed fangirl.
