Send us a textThis week on Mummy Dearest Podcast we're unwrapping Season 3, Episode 3 of "And Just Like That...". Ya'll, I don't know how much we have left in us for this show. And we're using the word show loosely. Between Harry wetting his raw selvedge Japanese denim, Charlotte's traumatic brain injury, and Carrie's truly demonic relationship with Aiden it's beginning to feel like we jumped the shark. Or the laptop. How much longer are we going to have to wait for Carrie to be invited into Aiden's house? Who is the Adderall really for? Will the hot guys bread company survive this recession? Honestly, who cares. All that and not much more on this week's episode of Mummy Dearest Podcast!Support the showVisit MummyDearestPodcast.com for merch and more!Follow the podcast on Instagram!Follow Sloane on Instagram!Follow Zach on Instagram! And most importantly, become a Patron and unlock hundreds of bonus episodes!
Welcome back! This week, the ladies disect Sex and the City, which began as a newspaper column by Candace Bushnell for The New York Observer (1994–1996), chronicling the romantic escapades and social lives of Bushnell and her friends in New York. The columns were compiled into a 1996 book that inspired the hit HBO series, two films, and the Max revival “And Just Like That…Candace Bushnell's alter ego, Carrie, serves as our narrator. She introduces readers to characters like Carrie, Mr. Big, and Samantha—navigating love, status, and sex in a world of privilege, parties, and heartbreak. The book isn't a traditional novel but rather a collection of loosely connected essays and vignettes. It paints a portrait of a certain type of single woman—successful, savvy, and navigating a social world where love is often transactional and appearances mean everything. You've seen them on HBO, but this is the book that started it all.*Please be advised this episode is intended for adult audiences and contains adult language and content. Cambiando genere, torna su Sky "And Just Like That", terza stagione del prequel di "Sex & the City". The Ritual".See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
We cannot actually believe this happened – the woman who created Sex and the City, the real-life Carrie Bradshaw, Candace Freakin' Bushnell, joined us on the pod. If that name alone hasn't made you hit play already, here's what you're in for: the truth behind the Carrie and Mr. Big dynamic (spoiler: she wanted to be Mr. Big, not marry him), the power of female friendships, what it takes to make it in a big city as a woman, the deeply ingrained sexism she fought her whole life, and her unapologetic choice not to have kids. This convo is raw, real, iconic – and quite possibly the most starstruck we've ever been. Sex and the City fans, this one's for you.Sign up to our free workshop: What We're Investing In and Why. Welcome back to the Morning After Series on SUPERWOMEN, sponsored by Magnum Ice Cream! In the fourth and final episode of this series, Candace Bushnell, the creator of “Sex and The City,” and I met up with with Dorinda Medley—beloved “Real Housewives of New York” alum, author of “Make It Nice,” and ultimate New York icon—for an unfiltered conversation about reinvention, relationships, and what it really means to grow into yourself. In this episode, Dorinda brings her signature wit and honesty to the table as she reflects on the wisdom and peace that come with age, the art of the hard reset, and how she learned to manage anxiety by embracing stillness. From spontaneous kisses over Sunday lattes to morning walks in Central Park (with perfectly groomed dogs), Dorinda reminds us that life is best lived with heart, intention, and a healthy dose of humor. We also dive into the evolution of dating after 50, why women should lean into saying yes, and how Blue Stone Manor became not just a home but a sanctuary. We get into the “floozy clause” of prenups, the realities of Upper East Side divorce culture, and the beauty of female friendship. This episode is sponsored by Magnum Ice Cream (US). We're back with the Morning After Series on SUPERWOMEN, sponsored by Magnum Ice Cream! In the third episode of this four-part series, Candace Bushnell, the creator of “Sex and The City,” and I sat down with the incredible Camille Kostek—model, entrepreneur, and former NFL cheerleader. Camille opens up about the brutal rejections that she faced early in her career, the impossible beauty standards she refused to conform to, and how walking away from agencies that didn't believe in her led to the Sports Illustrated moment that changed everything.Camille gets real about the lingering insecurities that come with being in the public eye, the mental toll of an industry built on perfection, and the daily work of staying true to herself. She also tells us why she believes in breaking the mold rather than fitting into it and how social media has both empowered and pressured her. And, because no conversation is off-limits here, we talked about , why women are still hesitant to ask for what they want, and why we feel like we're constantly being sized up, whether in an audition or on a first date. This episode is sponsored by Magnum Ice Cream (US). Budapestre érkezik Candace Bushnell, a Szex és New York ikonikus írónője, aki a világ számos nagyvárosa után most a magyar közönséget is meghódítja „One Woman Show” előadásával. A Sláger FM-en minden este 22 órakor a kultúráé a főszerep S. Welcome back to the Morning After Series on SUPERWOMEN, sponsored by Magnum Ice Cream! In the second episode of this four-part series, Candace Bushnell, the creator of “Sex and The City,” and I sat down with the fashion icon Nicky Hilton Rothschild, to talk about her experiences with dating and how “SATC” has shaped her life. Nicky is a New Yorker, born and bred. She grew up in the city secretly watching “Sex and The City” when she was a teen, and blowing her entire allowance at Patricia Field's boutique in Greenwich Village on Saturdays with her sister Paris. But her love life hasn't mirrored that of the show's leading ladies. “I wish I had some more salacious stories for you, but I was always that monogamous girl. I was always in, like, a multi-year relationship,” she tells us, “so I didn't get to play in the Manhattan dating playground.” Nicky gives us the scoop on the best places to meet elusive bachelors, how she knew she met The One, which “SATC” character she sees herself in, her cameo that never was, and the one fashion item she still scours the Internet for.Magnum Double Raspberry bars are the perfect indulgent treat for chocolate and fruit lovers this Valentine's Day! From there she eloped to Italy and in 2004 she settled in north Mozambique, establishing the Teran Foundation to develop community tourism. She joins Emma in studio.A new study says that an ideological gap has opened up between young men and women in countries on every continent. These increasingly different world views could have far-reaching consequences. One of the leading researchers in gender studies Dr Alice Evans, Senior Lecturer in the Social Science of Development at King's College London tells Emma why Gen Z is two generations, not one. Emma also speaks to Professor Rosie Campbell, Director of the Global Institute for Women's Leadership at King's College London.Emma talks to the TV presenter Kaye Adams about her 10-year battle with HMRC over their claim she owed almost £125,000 in unpaid taxes. Best known for her role on the Loose Women panel show, she also hosts the morning show on BBC Radio Scotland. She says the protracted legal case has left her feeling “utterly, utterly beat up and gaslit”, despite her vindication. From cute cat memes to plush toys, a new exhibition at Somerset House explores the power of cuteness in contemporary culture. But is buying into a cute aesthetic regressive or even sexist, or can cute be reclaimed as a form of protest? And how would you feel, as a grown woman, about being labelled 'cute' or 'adorable'? To discuss, Emma is joined by Dr Isabel Galleymore, a consultant on the Cute exhibition; and the journalist Vicky Spratt.Have you ever thought about where your name came from? Perhaps you were named after a favourite relative, a character in a movie or maybe your parents just liked the sound of it. The one, the only Candace Bushnell is on the show today! *insert fangirl screaming here* As Sex and the City is my favorite show of all time—and Candace, you know, created the whole franchise back in 1994—this is a dream come true. I actually met Candace in person in 2019, when she was on her book tour for Is There Still Sex and the City?, and I found her to be as lovely as I hoped she would be. Most people probably know Candace best from penning The New York Observer column “Sex and the City” from 1994 to 1996, which later became an anthology of the same name in 1996 and, of course, an HBO show of the same name in 1998. But actually, Candace is one of those unicorn writers that can tackle both fiction and nonfiction writing and do both well. My favorite works from Candace are actually her novels, of which there are many: 4 Blondes, Trading Up, Lipstick Jungle (also made into a television show), One Fifth Avenue, and Killing Monica. She's also written young adult fiction like The Carrie Diaries (also made into a television show), Summer and the City, and Rules for Being a Girl. Candace continues to evolve and pivot, and is now on tour with her one-woman show, “True Tales of Sex, Success, and Sex and the City” (go to candacebushnell.com for more information!) and is also helming a reality dating show for women over 50 that is generating tons of buzz. It was an honor to do this career retrospective with not just a talented writer, but a really cool person. Sex and the City (1996) 4 Blondes (2000) Trading Up (2003) Lipstick Jungle (2005) One Fifth Avenue (2008) The Carrie Diaries (2010) Summer and the City (2011) Killing Monica (2015) Is There Still Sex and the City? (2019) Rules for Being a Girl (2020)

And just like that it's the finale of "And Just Like That...". What a wild ride it has been. We've seen non binary stand up, we've seen vet techs, we've seen lots of bald people kissing, we've seen men making love, we've seen Charlotte sell a painting to Sam Smith and we've seen Aiden in a gestapo outfit. We suffered through it all and we arrived at the conclusion of some of the best/ worst television ever made. We love you "And Just Like That" and we hate you. We will miss you dearly, can't wait to see you again. Hope it goes by in a snap. Support the show
This week on Mummy Dearest we recap the penultimate episode of season 2 of "And Just Like That...". We can't believe it's almost over. We never want it to stop even though it remains the best / worst written show of maybe all time? This week we get near death attempts, Shaloin monk hijinks, butt stuff, and Aiden's attempt at crying. It was a juicy episode filled with all the stuff we love to hate but we're really just biding our time until we get the series finale call from SAMANTHA JONES! All that and so much more on this week's episode of Mummy Dearest!Support the show
Grab your Cosmos, we have the woman responsible for Sex and the City, the real-life Carrie Bradshaw – Candace Bushnell! Candace joins us to talk about the show that became the voice of many generations, forging her own path as a successful woman (when it was much harder to do so), the real story behind Mr. Big, how she met her former husband and why they got married so quickly, why girlfriends are so important, dating men from ages 21-91, her feelings on And Just Like That, and more. Before Candace joins us, we talk about Rayna's upcoming date with DBCG (if you know you know), Ashley's bf meeting the fam, and a secret Rayna thought Ashley kept from her. Enjoy! This week on Mummy Dearest we unwrap Season 2, Episode 7 of "And Just Like That...". This episode shook us to our very core. There are things we cannot get enough of: LTW's luscious décolletage, LTW's hair, LTW's skin, LTW's attitude. And then there are things we never want to see again: Che as a VET TECH, Che as a stand up comic, Che period. There are things we want to see more of: Miranda becoming a high powered lesbian with other high powered beautiful lesbians (maybe we tie in LTW here?) But the main focus of this week's episode is Aiden. He's back and he's...an SS officer? A member of the new nazi party? A WWII collector? What the hell was his outfit about? Aiden would never have worn anything like that! We get to the bottom of how this happened and we discuss the Drew Barrymore of it all on this week's episode of Mummy Dearest. Support the show
This week on Mummy Dearest we unwrap episode 5 of "And Just Like That...". We are fully in, we love this show, we will watch it forever, it's hot garbage, feed it to us with a spoon and we will slurp it up like the little piggy babies we are. This episode had everything from LTW's hot body shakin it to TLC, Harry wearing a disturbing wig, LTW's husband in sexy George Washington cosplay, Miranda carving pumpkins, and Che potentially getting dumped by ABC. There was a lot to unpack but we tried out best on this week's episode of Mummy Dearest!Support the show
This week on Mummy Dearest we unwrap episode 4 of And Just Like That... . This week we are back to our roots. The gals (plus Anthony) sit around a brunch table and discuss Charlotte's love of cūm and Harry's lack of cūm. The word cūm slūt is thrown around a lot and it felt like we needed Samantha there to really lead the charge. This episode heavily featured all the things we love about the series: elderly people's dick pics, borderline non consensual they/them ex-husband threesomes, half built Ikea furniture and men doing Kegel exercises. It's safe to say we're so f#%king back baby, and we can't wait to see what the insane writers of this show have in store for us next week! All that and so much more on this week's episode of Mummy Dearest!Support the show
