Join the Conversation at 303-477-5600 or text to 307-200-8222 Monday - Friday from 3 pm - 6 pm MT. https://RushToReason.com HOUR 1 Encore Presentation of May 14, 2026 Fear, Distrust, And The Hidden Costs Behind America's Healthcare And Government Systems. Hour 1 of Rush To Reason takes a hard look at two growing realities shaping modern America: fear-driven public health messaging and a healthcare system many people no longer trust. John Rush is joined by Dr. Kelly Victory and Steve House for a wide-ranging conversation that begins with the recent Hantavirus headlines tied to Antarctica. Is this a legitimate health concern, or another attempt to test public fear and compliance? The discussion explores quarantine policies, vaccine pipelines, media narratives, and the lingering fallout from COVID-era distrust. But the hour goes even deeper. Senate hearings involving Rand Paul, questions surrounding government transparency, and concerns over gain-of-function research fuel a broader conversation about accountability and manipulation. Next, the show exposes the hidden traps of healthcare pricing—revealing why you might pay less in cash than with insurance, and how to avoid getting blindsided by outrageous medical bills. Discover insider tips that could save you thousands. The result is a thought-provoking hour that asks a larger question: how much of modern life is driven by information, and how much is driven by fear? HOUR 2 Encore Presentation of May 21, 2026 Health Fears, Government Distrust, And The Battle Over Who Controls Your Health. Hour 1 of Rush To Reason examines America's growing distrust of its healthcare institutions, government agencies, and pharmaceutical systems. John Rush, Dr. Kelly Victory, and Steve House open with Ebola fears, media panic cycles, and the possibility of public fear campaigns driving headlines over science. The conversation quickly deepens: Are Americans being told the full truth about vaccines, pharmaceuticals, food additives, and public health policies? The hour explores controversial topics, including tick-borne illnesses, alpha-gal syndrome, FDA oversight, prescription drug pricing, statins, vaccine testing, and political influence within health agencies. Dr. Kelly questions the conventional thinking on cholesterol, statin use and modern medicine's dependence on pharmaceuticals, while Steve House questions whether Americans can still trust the systems designed to protect them. The conversation also examines Mark Cuban's support of lower prescription drug costs and whether the future of healthcare depends more on personal responsibility than government intervention. By the end of the hour, one unsettling question demands an answer: In an era of confusion and competing interests, who can you trust with your health? Adam Mastroianni says he likes to "study how people perceive and misperceive their social worlds, from the person sitting across the table to the whole country buzzing around them." In this Blue Sky conversation, Dr. Mastroianni describes research he and a colleague conducted that demonstrates that human beings falsely assume that the world used to be better, and that we continue to decline in terms of moral standards and civil behavior. This cognitive "bug" he has detected can lead us to develop a more pessimistic view of the world and also leaves us more susceptible to believe in the message of autocrats who promise to take us back to a time when the world – and people – were somehow better than they are today. Adam's insights are fascinating, as are the techniques he uses in his research, and he explains his findings and observations with great wit and wisdom. Chapters: 00:00 Introduction to Dr. Adam Mastroianni The host introduces Dr. Adam Mastroianni, an experimental psychologist and author of 'Experimental History,' who will discuss a curious psychological phenomenon. 03:08 The Illusion of Decline: A Mental Bug Dr. Mastroianni explains his research on why people perceive the world as getting worse, even when it's improving. He attributes this to two phenomena: negativity bias, which makes us focus on bad information, and fading affect bias, where bad memories fade faster than good ones. 06:38 Historical Perception and Global Trends The discussion delves into how this 'bug' affects perceptions of the past, even before one's birth, creating a 'good old days' illusion. Research from 60 different countries shows a consistent belief in moral decline, suggesting it's a universal psychological tendency rather than event-driven. 11:09 Ignorance of History and Political Divide The conversation explores whether a lack of historical awareness contributes to the illusion of decline. Dr. Mastroianni and the host discuss how historical events, like the caning of Senator Charles Sumner, put current political divides in perspective, highlighting that 'unprecedented' times are often precedented. 15:45 Political Ramifications and Research Methods The host and Dr. Mastroianni discuss how the belief in moral decline can be exploited by autocrats promising to restore a non-existent past. Dr. Mastroianni details his research methods, including economic games and surveys across cultures, to demonstrate how people consistently misperceive a decline in qualities like honesty, even when evidence suggests the opposite. 23:59 Media, Confirmation Bias, and Satisfaction The conversation shifts to the role of media and confirmation bias in reinforcing negative perceptions. Dr. Mastroianni introduces the concept that people often imagine how things could be better, even excellent things like pets, contributing to a constant state of dissatisfaction and driving consumer culture. 33:01 Optimism, Technology, and Research Directions The host asks if the 'things could be better' mindset offers a glimmer of optimism, even if it often fuels dissatisfaction. They briefly touch upon technology, like AI, as a new area where people project both extreme hopes and fears, and Dr. Mastroianni discusses his future research, focusing on meta-science and finding a unifying paradigm for psychology. 37:57 Debunking Myths and Embracing the Unknown Dr. Mastroianni emphasizes that much of what we believe in science is likely wrong, and open discourse is crucial for progress, dispelling the myth that 'everything has been invented.'

Hour 1 of Rush to Reason turns into one of John Rush's most direct and emotionally charged conversations in recent memory. Beginning with the shocking Frontier Airlines runway tragedy that made national headlines, John quickly shifts the conversation toward something bigger. Media manipulation. Why are words like “pedestrian” being used instead of “trespasser,” and what does that reveal about modern reporting and accountability? From there, the conversation expands to airport security, public behavior during emergencies, and the emotional fallout for pilots, passengers, and first responders. The intensity continues to build as John pivots into Iran negotiations, the collapse of international trust, and what he believes are dangerous political double standards surrounding Barack Obama and modern foreign policy. The final half of the hour becomes a passionate breakdown of Colorado's governor race, Republican infighting, and cold political math. John challenges the conservatives who ignore voter demographics, unaffiliated voters, and election realities for emotion and loyalty. The result is a fast-moving hour filled with political strategy, frustration, media criticism, and blunt warnings about Colorado's future. HOUR 2 - May 18, 2026 Trump, Boebert, And The Republican Battle Nobody Needed Hour 2 of Rush To Reason opens with John Rush sharing his real-world hacks for mastering time and staying productive—no to-do lists required. The spotlight then turns to Colorado politics, with hot takes on Trump's feud with Lauren Boebert, the future of MAGA, and why the governor's race could spell trouble for Republicans. Richard Rush jumps in to break down the Broncos' tough season ahead, the Avalanche's Stanley Cup hopes, and how AI is taking over NFL scheduling. You'll also hear a review of the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid XSE and a no-holds-barred debate on Trump's controversial comments about China. Timestamps 26:53 - Richard Rush - Sports and Automotive Analysis 42:28 - Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid XSE Review HOUR 3 - May 18, 2026 Faith, Freedom, Political Reality, And The Fracturing Of Colorado Republicans. Hour 3 of Rush To Reason opens with a compelling conversation about faith and America's founding, as John Rush and author Cynthia Scott dig into the spiritual roots of the Constitution and why the nation's 250th birthday is about more than fireworks. The hour then heats up with fiery takes on Colorado's governor's race, Republican infighting, and how third-party candidates could upend the political landscape. Listener calls and debates tackle Trump, rising gas prices, and the realities facing conservatives in 2026. HR2 Drive Radio Encore Presentation of May 9, 2026 (5-23-26) by John Rush
Encore Presentation of May 9, 2026 Join the Conversation at 303-477-5600 or text to 307-200-8222 Saturdays from 9 am to 10 am MT. https://FixItRadio.com This episode of Fix It Radio takes a powerful and deeply practical look at one of the most overlooked aspects of homeownership—personal and home security. What hidden vulnerabilities around your home could criminals already be noticing? Are overgrown bushes, unlocked side doors, garage windows, or predictable routines quietly putting your family at risk? John Rush and Larry Unger walk through real-world stories involving porch thefts, suspicious strangers, stalking incidents, garage break-ins, and even tragic personal experiences that reinforce why homeowners can no longer afford to ignore situational awareness. The episode explores inexpensive but effective ways to harden a home mechanically before spending money on electronics—everything from securing garage doors with vise grips to reinforcing sliding doors, improving locks, and identifying blind spots around the property. The conversation also includes fascinating discussions about smart deadbolt technology, layered home security systems, personal safety while fueling vehicles, and why burglars often avoid homes with dogs. The show repeatedly stresses that true protection is not about paranoia—it's about preparation, awareness, and slowing criminals down long enough to deter them altogether. Whether you live in a townhome, suburb, or rural acreage, today's world requires vigilance, preparation, and practical common sense.

Why does fixing your car seem so expensive, and is repair truly a better value than buying new? In this episode of https://Drive-Radio.com The Extra Mile, John Rush pulls back the curtain on the true cost of auto repair, drawing on decades of industry experience. Listeners will discover how understanding what's behind each repair bill can help them make smarter choices about maintaining or replacing their vehicle. From oil changes that aren't “cheap” anymore to labor rates that include more than just wrench time, John explains what actually goes into every repair bill. What are non-billable hours, and why do they matter? Why can't a reputable shop quote you a price over the phone? And how do insurance requirements, training, certifications, and a growing technician shortage drive prices higher—often out of customers' sight? John also tackles parts quality, warranties, and why OEMs are really assemblers relying on vast supply chains. With new cars averaging around $55,000, John walks through the math of cost per mile and explains why many drivers are choosing to invest in the vehicles they already own. Is chasing the cheapest repair really a deal—or a risk? This episode challenges assumptions, explains the economics behind the shop door, and helps drivers make smarter, more confident decisions about repairs versus replacement.

The exact site of the Popham Colony was lost until 1888 when a plan for the site was found in the General Archives in Spain. This plan exactly matches the location at Sabino Head near Maine's Popham Beach State Park. Later archaeology in 1994 confirmed the location and the accuracy of the plan. The Popham Colony Site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Special guest Eric Yanis of The Other States of America podcast concludes his telling of this incredible story.
