Scott and Steven Founded The Fitness Group in 2018. It's now become the UK's leading personal training course provider and they've most recently racked up an impressive £1.3m in turnover, following consistent year-on-year growth. Janine, from the beautiful Brecons Beacons, has dealt with and overcame health challenges that spanned almost 20 years. A mum of two, she has also somehow managed to find time to co-found an award-winning Fitness Group, and is part of a very small team that has fund-raised over £1m for a local cancer charity. She started her Forever Living business seven years ago, at a time when most would have said they were not ready. Aged 47, she is living proof that the best really is yet to come.

Episode SummaryThe FUN40 came from a few different ideas. The first came from my friend as she explained the 75HARD book. She was super excited about finishing it, with good reason. Learn More and Buy the 75HARD Book Here The second inspiration for the FUN40 was when I was reminded of a “challenge” we did in the group years ago. I think we called it the “Fit and Fun” challenge. Everyday, we had to do something for fitness and something for fun, and they could be the same thing. As challenges go, we learned something we didn't expect; scheduling something fun every day was more effort than expected. There was a third spark of inspiration as I listened to all the 75HARD rules. I remembered that I don't really like rules. In fact, at this point in life, suggestions are great, but rules rankle!Below you'll find a rough outline of the FUN 40. Make sure you RSVP, and we'll go over all the suggestions, how to have them work best for you, and how to play the game. Before you say, “this sounds great, but I'm going to be traveling,” don't worry. Rules can be bent and fun activities while traveling should be easy. More live coaching coming at ya today! We are chatting with my friend, Nicole about her postpartum fitness business. We end up chatting in depth about how to target her dream clients and what platform would be best. Check it out and make sure to look into Strong Mama Wellness to see what Nicole is up to now!
As Amy thinks back to all of her past roles she always found a way to live her passion in her job. She always enjoyed blending passion with meaning even if she had bigger dreams early on in her career. It has always been about helping more people so fitness in her mind was a natural fit.The first change in Amy's young career was leaving the athletics side, as an athlete and Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, and making the move to the fitness side as a trainer. She then worked at the Premier Health Club in San Diego where her second big break happened. Amy's Personal Training Manager at the time had received a promotion and tapped Amy to be the next Manager. This, after only one year as a trainer, led Amy to bigger aspirations in the industry. Having been familiar with IDEA Health and Fitness Association her entire life, attending many of their conferences and summits, she received an opportunity later on in life to good to pass up working as the Vice President of the Fitness Group at Pocket Outdoor Media which includes IDEA Health and Fitness Association, Oxygen Magazine, IDEA China and Korea. She is really passionate about IDEA and their initiatives. IDEA's members strive to provide resources and support to help you grow your career, be more successful and achieve that through many different platforms. With five publications including the award-winning IDEA Fitness Journal, as well as, digital publications, this is where Amy has made a home trying to impact many more fitness professionals. Ultimately it is about keeping fitness professionals in the industry longer.Given the current climate, Amy is most proud of helping to deliver on a plan that she has thought about for many years which is health insurance. For many people in the industry out of work, this plan is for fitness professionals, as well as, small business owners. You can sign up and/or terminate at any point throughout the year. Amy points to the fact that it is also long overdue for the fitness industry. What is to come for this fitness icon? IDEA WORLD Virtual Convention is the next big event hitting Aug. 21-22 and will be really unique this year. Obviously it will be virtual but what will be different is that it will be in real time using some unique technology platforms. Everything is LIVE! A person will have the ability to actually engage with presenters making it really unique in this virtual environment. With all of these different initiatives going on, it is no wonder what has been motivating Amy throughout her career. Helping people move fwd. in the fitness industry and changing lives will always be at the heart of her mission.

"Let Movement be Mandatory but Exercise be Optional" About Today’s Guest Lawrence Biscontini, MA, has made fitness history as a Mindful Movement Specialist winning the highest number of awards from ACE, IDEA & Inner IDEA, Can Fit Pro, and ECA since 2002. Over 80% of all revenue from sales generated at www.findlawrence.com support these programs. Show Notes Lawrence and I begin the show reminiscing about chocolates, or rather how I first remember meeting Lawrence after he took my step class at the Reebok Sports Club, as it was known at the time. After class he gave me the most delicious chocolate truffles, and so of course from the very beginning he held a special place in my heart. Lawrence shares how he got into fitness out of necessity because he was the fat kid from Philly. His Father died when he was 18 and when the doctor said "you're next," Lawrence decided to make some changes, including beginning to workout, which led him into his career of fitness and wellness. Lawrence obtained his ACE Gold certification and started teaching in college while he was also working on his masters in communication. After college and while teaching part-time, Lawrence worked for American Airlines teaching their emergency procedures, which was amazingly and coincidentally related to fitness and health and the beginning of diversifying his career, which is a running theme throughout our conversation. We talk further about the importance of having diversity within what we offer, regardless of our career, and also the importance of seeing yourself as a business, even if you love what you are doing. Passion is wonderful, but passion alone does not pay the bills. Lawrence gives us a fantastic exercise to do so that we can look at where we spend our time and how that input of time is related to our output of income. Take out a pen and paper. Put all that you do in terms of where you place your focus in a row at the top of the page. Underneath each row put all the tasks that are associated with that item. List how much time is spent in each column. At the bottom of each row write down how much that particular project adds income to your bank account. Notice if where you spend most of your time also brings in most of your revenue, or is at least moving you closer to building a profitable business. Depending on the results it may be time to reevaluate how and where you place your focus and spend your time. Lawrence talks about the importance of having great mentors. He also goes a step further and believes we all need two mentors, one who is in the industry that you are working in, and one outside of the industry. One leads the way on “what to do” and the other leads the way on “how to be.” He also talks about how to reframe failures and rejection, and that when we hear the word, “no” that the reframe of the meaning is, “not yet.” Lawrence invites us to look at movement being mandatory and exercise as being optional. It is this reframe that will help the fitness industry reach the people, who in the past, may have felt as though they “failed at exercise.” This way we can help open their ears by using the word movement over exercise, and also open their hearts to happiness. He believes that we also need to create compelling experiences instead of simply teaching classes and executing exercise. Lawrence goes onto say that it should be our goal to make everyone feel successful. That the “s of experiences” is not only to build a community, transcend exercise and make everyone feel challenged but most of all help them to feel successful. It is then people will return, tell their friends, and then we have built a community, or a tribe a tri-mmunity, a combination of tribe and community. Towards the end of our conversation, Lawrence shares that he has three philosophies that he has honed from working in fitness. 1. Never burn your bridges. 2. Love is always the answer. Never Jealousy. Never greed. Never backstabbing. Never unfriendly competition. Love is always going to be the answer. 3. Stay true to who you are inside and never sell out. Stay true to yourself and listen to your inner voice. Wise words for sure.

Fastest Way To Learn Sales | Training, Coaching & Motivation
Today we discuss two vital steps in building a healthy, positive self-image as a salesperson and a good citizen. By Frank A. Clark an American politician and a lawyer. Frank said: “Most smiles are started by another smile” Step - #5 | Take Baby Steps Yes, build a healthy self-image with a series of short steps. The number one reason why most new plans remain a plan and never move into executive is that of the fear of failure. The idea is to start with the end in mind and break it down into small pieces. The episode includes the story of a 60+-year-old retired gym mate and how he breaks down his fitness goals into small steps and achieve broader goals. My former Sales Manager always used to tell me “Saqib, the sales target this quarter may be a big one, however, how do you eat an elephant? – One Bit At A Time” Step 6: Moving into Step 6 which is to Smile & Compliment Use your smile to change the world, don’t let the world change your smile! The smile is contagious, and when you smile at someone, not that your face value goes up, you get a smile in return. How good is that? Trust me; nobody wants to deal with a grumpy salesperson or a neighbor or a coworker. Plus, a smile costs nothing and builds your positive self-image immensely. The second piece to step 6 is to pass on genuine compliments. I find that in today’s day and age our egos are too high. We rarely compliment others on things they are doing better. A quick story to put this in perspective about the Fitness Group on IG that I follow and the discovery of lack of compliments by the male audience in the group. Someone has a nice car; I will be the first to tell him. Someone has a cute sweater; I will make her day! Someone is looking great in his outfit; I will be sure to let him know. I find that it is impossible for one to make someone feel better and not feel better in return. Plus it is super simple to say hey man you are looking good! Keep up the hard work! Keep looking good! Spread optimism and good cheer, because what goes around comes around. Do not criticize instead complement. Rather than finding what’s wrong with someone, let’s see what is right, what are they doing good! Instead of saying “What I don’t like about that person” say “What I like about that person.” Look for good and good will follow you around. It will improve your self-image and make you more likable personality. Last note, answer the phone with enthusiasm rather than saying “Hello” or “Hi, what can I do for you today?” Answer the phone and cheer the person up, among billions of people in the world that person is calling you, in this moment you are special to him and in return make him/her feel special. Even when your customers call, answer by saying “Hey, I am having a great day and it just got even better” (because you heard your client’s voice) Or just, “Good morning, it is a great day and hopes you are having a great one too.” These two steps cost you nothing at all, however, will make you a more desirable person. Your personality will improve, your self-image will grow, and your performance at work will improve. The basics of sales psychology. Thanks for tuning in and listening to today’s sales show. Please review, share, like, subscribe and comment if you like the information shared today! I appreciate every second of your time, and I will see you on my next show! Fastest Way To Learn Sales is hosted by Saqib Irfan from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. It is a Weekly Sales Podcast Show that delivers snack size sales actionable sales education and coaching tips 2 – 3 times per week. The podcast is available on all major podcast platforms.
Scott Perry, co-founder of MOTION Fitness Group believes that it's time for familiar interval training to move aside, as high intensity resistance training is the way forward. Here's how he and his team have forged the new fashion in fitness that's here to stay. The day that Scott got into fitness professionally, after choosing a path through firefighting school, a friend introduced himself during a bicep curls session to suggest a PT career with the main positives explained as: good money, free membership and a lot of girls. Since then, he opened his first location aged just 29, and has now reached a successful state where he wears many hats of marketing, money, back end business and more for MOTION, with a bright future ahead. In this episode, Scott discusses in detail the low points of his career, defining moments in his life that hurt at the time but helped in hindsight. He also explains how the a-ha moments at every point have helped shape his direction and bring him to where he is today. Putting the HIRT on HIIT, high intensity resistance training is taking over from high intensity interval training as MOTION focuses more on things that take time to move, rather than jumping from one exercise to the next. Here, it's all about time under tension, using high energy exercises to great music, but with everyone focusing on form to burn more fat and benefit the body in every sense. Episode Highlights: Is HIIT dead? Is HIRT here to stay? Learn how to take advantage of industry trends, and how to create your own. Hear how the language behind your business invokes feeling in clients and why it's important to nail down your verbiage strategy. Learn how to come up with a new name for your studio. Hear how this industry influencer lost a job as a trainer and went on to open their own studio, and why this was the best thing that could have happened to him. Why the traditional path to success, whether that be following tradition or solely going through the education system, may not be the way that works for you.
