400 do CPP.
In this episode, I'm joined by Deepa Jahagirdar, Associate Research Principal at Cytel, to explore what it really takes to build a good external control arm (ECA). Deepa brings a fascinating background from social epidemiology, where causal questions often need to be answered without running randomized trials. That experience translates directly into today's growing need for ECAs, especially when we rely on real-world data to support single-arm trials, extension phases, or situations where randomization simply isn't possible. Together, we discuss how to choose the right data source, how target trial emulation works in practice, what to do about confounding, and how to judge whether an ECA is truly robust. If you're working with real-world evidence, complex study designs, or causal inference, this episode will give you clarity and confidence in approaching ECAs the right way.

There's a module for that. Module name/project name: Orchestration Brief history How old: created in Aug 2025 by Jürgen Haas of LakeDrops, in collaboration with Dries, who some of our listeners may be familiar with Versions available: 1.0.0, which supports Drupal 11.2 or newer Maintainership Actively maintained Security coverage Documentation site Number of open issues: 11 open issues, none of which are bugs Usage stats: 3 sites Module features and usage With the Orchestration module installed, external systems can trigger Drupal workflows, call AI agents, and execute business logic through a unified API The modules functions as a bi-directional bridge, so Drupal events like content updates, user registrations, or form submissions can also trigger external processing Using the Orchestration module with the Activepieces automation platform in particular was featured at about the one hour mark in the most recent Driesnote, from DrupalCon Vienna, and we'll include a link to watch that in the show notes. The complex example Dries shows is pulling content from a Wordpress site, using AI to evaluate whether or not each post met certain criteria, and then conditionally calling one of a couple of ECA functions, in addition to using AI to rewrite the incoming content to change Wordpress terminology into Drupalisms Under the hood Orchestration provides an endpoint that will return a JSON list of services, including the properties that are needed for each service. The external service also needs to provide the username and password for a Drupal account, so you can control what services will be available based on permissions for the Drupal user that will be used Already Orchestration works with ECA, AI Agents, Tool API, and AI function calls There is also work underway for integrations using webhooks, for integration platforms that aren't ready to directly support Drupal's orchestration services In his presentation Dries mentioned that they are looking for feedback. Specifically, they would like feedback on what platforms should have integrations available

Australia's gas network rules are outdated — and consumers are paying the price. Energy Consumers Australia (ECA) warns that without reform, vulnerable households could be trapped in a ‘gas death spiral,' facing ever-rising bills as others switch to electric. To fix this, the ECA wants new gas users to cover the full cost of new connections, stopping the $11 billion gas asset base from ballooning further. They're also pushing to limit accelerated depreciation of gas infrastructure that shifts financial risks from network investors onto consumers, and to require gas networks to be more transparent and plan properly, as electricity networks already must. Finally, they want fairer, cheaper disconnection options so households can leave gas without punishing fees. Brian Spak, General Manager of Advocacy and Policy at ECA, explains how these changes could protect consumers, reduce stranded asset risks, and make the transition to clean, all-electric living more affordable.

Justin Reid, President and CEO of Troilus Gold Corp. (TSX: TLG) (OTCQX: CHXMF), joins me for a comprehensive update on a key project financing milestone building up the capital stack, additions to personnel with ongoing derisking initiatives, detailed engineering underway, permitting progress, political tailwinds, and more drilling success at the Gold-Copper Troilus Project located in northcentral Quebec, Canada. Troilus announced on March 13th, that they have secured a US$700MM ( CDN$1BB) project financing syndicate underwritten by Societe Generale ( Paris), KfW Ipex-bank ( Frankfurt) and Export Development Canada. These lead arrangers will act as the agent via direct lending to the ECA's for which we have an LOI ( Finnvera, EKN, Euler Hermes and EIFO).” We review the expanded 80-person Troilus team at present working full steam ahead, including the addition of 4 new members of the management team, and complimented by 50 employees of a 3rd-party contractor that are working on the detailed engineering studies. Justin paints the picture of how significant the Troilus Project will be for jobs in Quebec, with ~1400 jobs over the 2-year construction process, and then 680 jobs over the 22-year life of mine. This leads into a discussion on the recent bipartisan consensus on the need to streamline permitting and enable the timely advancement of strategic projects that support Canada's energy transition, economic growth, and global competitiveness. Notably, the Copper-Gold Troilus Project was recently identified as one of ten key natural resource developments of interest in a CPC proposal to simplify and accelerate permitting and development. This recognition follows similar indications of support for a more efficient regulatory framework from the LPC who has publicly endorsed a “one project, one review” permitting system. Wrapping up we touched up on the importance of the recent high-grade infill drill results that were just released from the SouthWest Zone, in terms of gaining higher confidence ounces in the resource and for the higher-grade near-surface intercepts having a positive impact on the early years in the mining sequence. Southwest Drill Intercept Highlights: Hole SW-25-688 intersected 2.44 g/t gold equivalent (“AuEq”) (2.03 g/t Au, 2.55 g/t Ag, 0.23 % Cu) over 56 meters (m), including 3.28 g/t AuEq (2.74 g/t Au, 3.38 g/t Ag, 0.29 % Cu) over 34 m. This is the best drill intercept in the history of the Southwest in terms of linear grade. Hole SW-25-679 intersected 1.22 g/t AuEq (1.13 g/t Au, 0.81 g/t Ag, 0.04 % Cu) over 51 m including 15.39 g/t AuEq (15.25 g/t Au, 0.60 g/t Ag, 0.08 % Cu) over 1 m, and 8.18 g/t AuEq (7.33 g/t Au, 8.50 g/t Ag, 0.44 % Cu) over 1 m starting at 9 metres downhole. If you have any questions for Justin regarding Troilus Gold, then please email them over to me at Shad@kereport.com. Episode Summary In this essential episode of the Canadian Immigration Podcast, Mark Holthe and Alicia Backman-Beharry return with another instalment in the Express Entry “Getting it Right” series—this time focusing on physicians and healthcare professionals. While doctors may excel in their field, navigating Canadian immigration law is a whole different beast. Mark and Alicia explore the unique challenges medical professionals face in Express Entry applications—from the pitfalls of choosing the wrong ECA organization, to confusion around Canadian spouses, unpaid internships, and self-employed work experience. They also dig into the April 2023 policy change that allows self-employed physicians to finally claim Canadian work experience under CEC—if done correctly.

In my own experience the most useful event is VBO: Execute Views bulk operation (one by one) From there, you can define the logic of what needs to happen to the selected items. I've used it for fairly simple operations like changing content to a specific moderation state, but you could define complex logic that is conditional on field values, site configuration, or even global factors like the time of day With one or more models defined, you can now add a field to your view for ECA bulk operations and then select which eligible models you want available in that specific view It's worth adding that the ECA model can also include logic to define who should have access to perform a particular operation, which could be as simple as checking the role of the current user, but can be as complex as you need I came across ECA VBO during some recent work on the Drupal Event Platform, which is already available to try out on Drupal Forge, but there should be a more formal announcement on that front soon

Today we are talking about AI Autonomy, How it could help Drupal Development, and AI in the future with guest Jay Callicott. We'll also cover AI Agents as our module of the week. For show notes visit: https://www.talkingDrupal.com/485 Topics What got you interested in this topic What is meant by AI Autonomy You suggested in your blog post in the Drop Times that developers will manage AI can you elaborate AI coming for our jobs Drupal X Do decoupled sites have an advantage Is the future going to be all prompts Skill decay What would you say to a CEO thinking about replacing developers with AI Resources Drupal is Great! Its Perception Might Not Be. The AI-Driven Developer: From Assistance to Autonomy in Drupal Development DrupalX Ethics of AI Guests Jay Callicott - drupalninja99 Hosts Nic Laflin - nLighteneddevelopment.com nicxvan John Picozzi - epam.com johnpicozzi Scott Weston - scott-weston MOTW Correspondent Martin Anderson-Clutz - mandclu.com mandclu Brief description: Have you ever wanted to leverage AI-powered tools to get information about or change the configuration of your website? There's a module for that Module name/project name: AI Agents Brief history How old: created in Aug 2024 by Marcus Johansson (marcus_johansson) of FreelyGive Versions available: 1.0.1 which supports Drupal 10.3 and 11 Maintainership Actively maintained: that release was in the past week, and was part of the significant effort to get stable releases of the AI modules that are included in Drupal CMS Security coverage Documentation included within the module's codebase Number of open issues: 30 open issues, 7 of which are bugs against the current branch Usage stats: 119 sites but I suspect that number will increase rapidly once people start using Drupal CMS Module features and usage In AI terminology, an agent is a system able to interact with its environment, collect data, and use the data to perform self-determined tasks The AI Agents module is a framework to provide agents that can perform a variety of functions in your Drupal website It depends on the AI module that we had Jamie Abrahams on the podcast to talk about back in episode #468 The module includes plugins that provide three agents, namely: A Field Type Agent that can create or edit fields using the Field API, or answer questions about the fields your site has defined A Content Type agent that can create, edit, or answer questions about node types Taxonomy Agent that can do the same for your site's vocabularies Anyone who saw the Driesnote AI demos from DrupalCon Barcelona or Singapore will have seen agents in action, in that example through interaction in a chatbot Technically, the plugins are UI agnostic, however. So theoretically you could trigger an agent in other ways. But today, AI Agents power the AI chatbot that you can use in the AI recipe that is included in the recently released Drupal CMS 1.0 The AI Agents module also includes some submodules. An experimental form integration submodule adds UI elements to the interfaces for managing fields, content types, and vocabularies, an explorer submodule provides debugging tools, and an experimental Extra submodule provides agents for working with webforms and views. I have also seen a demo of some work underway to provide an ECA agent, so you may soon be able to get your Drupal site to build out ECA models based on the business logic you describe to it
The Electoral Count Act of 1887 (ECA) was law for 135 years. But then, Jan. 6, 2021, happened - the cause of which some partially attributed to the ECA (more about this in the interview). So, what was to be done? In 2022, Congress passed the ECRA, which will be law on Jan. 6, 2025, when the 119th Congress counts the 2024 Electoral votes. The ECRA is the Electoral Count Reform and Presidential Transition Improvement Act of 2022. The counting of the Electoral votes has pushed our country to the brink on multiple occasions. Imagine this: it's two days before the presidential inauguration, and our country still has no president-elect! This is not a hypothetical or something from a Hollywood thriller. This really happened in our history. That's what happens when the simple, boring process of counting the electoral votes - a mere formality really - goes awry! The January 6th after an election year is one of those days that usually goes unnoticed. Except, when something goes wrong. But each time something went wrong, like it seriously did on Jan. 6, 2021, Congress strove to improve the way it counts the Electoral votes. In this interview, my guest explains how Congress improved the process of counting the Electoral votes after each crisis, in 1804, 1887, 1933 and 2022.
