Why take the 6 hour and 40 minute drive to the Applegate Region in Southern Oregon? I had to see what 29 year old Mini Byers has acquired. Cowhorn Bioynamic Vineyard and Garden is a Petal-certified Building under the Living Building Challenge 2.1 by the International Living Future Institute. The tasting room is LEED-certified, and there is a beautiful, modern guest home on the property overlooking the vineyard. Naturally, I accepted the offer to stay there for two days. While there, I spent a morning with Mini's winemaker, Vince Vadrine. We talk about his background, the vineyard, and the Rhone wine varietals he crafts. A trip to the area is well worth it. There's so much to see and experience, of which we took full advantage! On The Wine Road Podcast is supported by Sonoma Clean Power. In an era where technology intertwines seamlessly with our daily lives, the advent of innovative products has transformed the way we engage with nature. One of the most captivating developments in this realm is the emergence of interactive nature photography devices. These products not only capture stunning images of wildlife but also enhance our understanding and appreciation of the natural world. A prime example of this is the Bird Buddy, a smart bird feeder that utilizes artificial intelligence to identify and photograph birds as they visit. This integration of technology and nature creates a unique experience that is both educational and entertaining.Nature Photography Made Interactive and FunThe Bird Buddy serves as a gateway to the world of ornithology for enthusiasts and casual observers alike. By taking pictures and videos of birds, the device allows users to collect and catalog different species, similar to the popular mobile game Pokémon Go, where players collect virtual creatures. This gamification of nature photography encourages individuals to explore their backyards and local environments, fostering a sense of curiosity and connection to the wildlife around them. The thrill of spotting a new bird species becomes a rewarding experience, transforming ordinary moments into extraordinary encounters with nature. Moreover, the Bird Buddy's use of artificial intelligence to recognize bird species adds an educational layer to the experience. Users can learn about the various types of birds that inhabit their surroundings, gaining insights into their behaviors and habitats. This knowledge not only enriches the user experience but also promotes environmental awareness and conservation efforts. As individuals become more informed about the species they encounter, they may be inspired to take action to protect their local ecosystems. The Wonders of New ProductsThe recent introduction of Petal, a flower-shaped camera designed to capture images of other elements of nature, expands this interactive approach beyond birds. With the ability to photograph butterflies, ladybugs, and bees, Petal encourages users to appreciate the broader spectrum of wildlife that exists in their gardens. By creating a dashboard that tracks these observations, the device educates users on how to enhance their gardens to support local biodiversity. This further emphasizes the importance of interaction with nature, as individuals become active participants in fostering a healthy environment. The technology behind these devices enhances their usability and accessibility. With features such as solar power, long-range Wi-Fi connectivity, and user-friendly interfaces, these products are designed to be low-maintenance and easy to set up. Such practicality ensures that individuals can focus on the joy of capturing nature rather than being bogged down by complicated technology. This user-centric design is crucial in promoting engagement, as it allows people of all ages and backgrounds to partake in the wonders of nature photography. Conclusion: A Wonderful Way to Experience NatureIn conclusion, the intersection of technology and nature photography has given rise to interactive experiences that make observing wildlife not only fun but also educational. Devices like Bird Buddy and Petal from the newly formed parent Wonder transform passive observation into active participation, encouraging users to explore, learn, and appreciate the beauty of the natural world. As we continue to innovate and develop new ways to connect with our environment, the potential for fostering a deeper understanding of nature becomes limitless. Ultimately, these interactive tools not only enrich our lives but also empower us to become stewards of the planet, ensuring that future generations can enjoy the same wonders that we do today.Bird Buddy and its accessories can be purchased now from the company's website, Amazon, Walmart, and more.Interview by Don Baine, The Gadget Professor.Sponsored by: Get $5 to protect your credit card information online with Privacy. For more than 23 years, Petal has leveraged her expertise in education, law, and motherhood (not to mention being a woman of strong convictions!) to bring a distinctive perspective on parenting and child development. As a mother of two daughters in two different generations and with over 20 years of experience as a legal and higher education professional, Petal has learned that parenting is about more than the basics. It's about recognizing that how we raise our children today will shape the world of tomorrow. When we arm them with the skills and tools that will enable them to become good citizens of the world, we also prepare them to change that world for the better. Petal and her podcast have been featured in NY Times, GMA, Good Housekeeping, Parents.com, Medium, Madame Noire, CBS, FOX, ABC and many affiliates across the country. She has also interviewed thought-leaders and celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker, J.R. Martinez and many more on her parenting show. She is enlightening, thoughtful, powerful and truly wants a world where Parenting is not only made easier for children, but made more welcoming and likely for adults. We can all take a deep breathe knowing Petal's advice will guide our nations parents into a world of understanding and impact!

Claire Elaine from Wooden Petal Bake Shop in Santa Rosa, joins Harry Duke and Herlinda Heras on Brew Ha Ha today. Brew Ha Ha is a double show and podcast today. Also in the studio is Raena Jones-Metzger from Rio Nido Roadhouse. Occasionally, if we have two guests on one radio show, we make two podcasts from the live show, so that each guest can have their own podcast audio and a sharable (and indexable) web page of their own episode. The Rio Nido Roadhouse podcast episode page is over here. Claire describes her day in the bake shop which begins at 3:30 or 4:00 making dough and then sandwiches from her pretzel buns. Wooden Petal is a name that Claire came up with, based on her grandmother's catering company Wooden Spoon. Also, she was “an English granny” and used to call Elaine Petal, hence Wooden Petal. She and her partner built their shop a couple of years ago, from scratch. They had to re-permit the location to serve food. Moonlight Brewing Co. is where she did her first pop-up selling pretzels. Wooden Petal is at 4984 Sonoma Hwy. near Middle Rincon Rd. They are open 7am to 1 pm. Pretzel Buns Make Great Sandwiches Wooden Petal's pretzel buns make great sandwiches. Turkey or Salami with chive butter, with cheddar is called the You Betcha. LONG PAUSE And, as you breathe in, feel the breath expanding through you, creating healing energy and connecting all of you. LONG PAUSE Keep inhaling and exhaling and envision the breath gently touching all of your body. LONG PAUSE Now, as you continue breathing, bring your thoughts to the present and feel yourself in the now. PAUSE In the present, feel your body comfortably connecting with your bed, sinking into it with deep relaxation. PAUSE And as you deepen your relaxation, imagine the cozy covers of the bed separating and transforming into the softest petal of a flower. PAUSE The petal has a gentle aroma that calms the soul with each breath. PAUSE After a moment, the petal safely lifts you into the air and suspends above your bed before gently sailing out the door. PAUSE You nestle into the petal and its luscious comfort and enjoy the sensation of flying slowly out into the world while wrapped in the petal. PAUSE The moon shines brightly, lighting your way, as the petal rises in the air. PAUSE Slowly, the petal continues to rise until you're surrounded by a playground of stars. PAUSE Each star shimmers in the inky sky, and you feel their energy resonating with you. PAUSE You take a moment and notice that the stars seem to play with one another, shining messages and dancing in the night sky. PAUSE You imagine dancing with the stars, waltzing slowly through the cosmos, lights trailing your every move like a shadow of diamonds. PAUSE Then, the stardust gathers beneath the petal and ever-so-gingerly moves it along. PAUSE Gently, like the rudder on a rowboat, the stardust guides the petal back into Earth's atmosphere. PAUSE The petal floats downward until you're surrounded by mountains standing tall with the glimmer of the moon. PAUSE As the petal wafts toward the ground, a tiny brook catches your eye. PAUSE The brook is small and filled with stones that sparkle like jewels in the moonlight. PAUSE As the petal descends, it makes a cushioned landing in the stream and begins gently moving with the water. PAUSE Along the banks, fireflies twinkle and tease one another as the petal continues to float in the brook. PAUSE A bullfrog sounds a mating call, then splashes in the water. PAUSE A symphony of cicadas sing their songs while the great horned owl's hoots cut through the dark with their own music. PAUSE Now, imagine a warm breeze cradling the petal, carrying it out of the brook and taking it away. PAUSE You feel comfort and trust as the breeze steers the petal. PAUSE After a few moments, the petal sails back into your room PAUSE The soft petal unfurls and melts into your luxurious bed, leaving you a calmness that wraps around you just like the petal. This Sunday we look forward to receiving the message from our very own, Jonathan Pasquale. “The Seed Never Sees the Petal” It's incredible when one sows kindness to a neighbor. Sowing into the local church serves the community well. In this hour, however, is there a call to sow more? Has God released a kingdom of comfort, or has he invited us to sow our lives to see His son receive the reward of his suffering? Through testimony and scripture, we will explore those who sowed the seed of their lives to see the petals of the kingdom flourish. Acts chapter 7:51-60, Matthew 13:18-23 Jonathan Pasquale
