Pastor Arnold challenges the Calvinist doctrine of Limited Atonement. Drawing from Scripture, he argues that Christ died for all people, not only the "elect," and that Christ's atonement is unlimited in its provision, yet conditioned upon faith for its application. The presentation examines key biblical passages often used in debates over the extent of the atonement and contrasts Calvinist interpretations (TULIP) with a Free Grace perspective (LOTUS). Arnold contends that the doctrine of "Total Atonement" better reflects God's love, justice, and universal offer of salvation.

A serene beach. The classroom of an elite private school. The still nights in an upscale residential neighborhood. An acclaimed poet with a quiet, dignified mode of address. The sonic etiquette and experience of quiet is integral to each of these scenes. The Quiet Zone: Caribbean Expressive Cultures and the Feminist Aesthetics of Disturbance (Rutgers UP, 2026) examines what the emergence of quiet as an elite aesthetic, privilege, and entitlement means for minoritized people who are often narrated as loud, disruptive, and disturbing, sonically, visually, and otherwise. Taking the Caribbean and its diasporas as its key sites of study, the book explores what we can learn from efforts to transform the region into the quintessential site of quiet leisure, in part, through the enactment of regimes of sonic discipline and surveillance directed against its majority Black population. Analyzing the work of Afro-Caribbean artists that catalog and critique sonic surveillance, the book questions the ways that quiet gets produced both as a regulatory ideal of racial, gender, sexual, national, and civilizational belonging and as a universal object of desire. Midlife is often the moment when a woman stops living the life she was taught to perform… and begins walking the path her soul came here to embody. If you've found yourself wondering:What is happening to me? Why doesn't my life fit the way it used to? Why do I feel both empty… and like I'm just getting started? This one's for you.In this episode, I introduce what I call the Venusian Revolution — a return to the body, where truth lives, pleasure flows, and love leads. And I share the Venus Rose Path, a five-gateway journey of feminine awakening that unfolds not through striving… but through embodiment. This is not about becoming someone new. It's about remembering who you are.Our culture teaches the masculine path of ascension:Climb higher. Do more. Push through. But the feminine path moves differently. She doesn't rise by escaping the body. She rises by rooting into it.The Map & The ToolsOver the years, I've come to see this work as having two parts:
In this episode of Even Better, host Sinikka Waugh is joined by Catherine Schut for a heartfelt conversation about building genuine human connection through the simple beauty of flowers. Catherine shares how her local flower farm has become a gathering place for community, bringing together fellow small‑business owners, loyal customers, and neighbors through shared experiences and small acts of kindness. Together, they explore the many ways flowers help us connect: supporting clients and colleagues, celebrating meaningful milestones, offering comfort to friends and family, or creating quiet moments of self‑care. Catherine also reflects on how spending time with nature invites us to slow down, get creative, and express emotions we sometimes struggle to put into words. Whether you love flowers or simply appreciate the power of presence, this conversation offers a gentle reminder that beauty grows connection, and connection strengthens community. In this episode of The 1000 Hours Outside Podcast, Ginny Yurich sits down with father-daughter duo Drew and Ava Miller—homeschoolers, musicians, and the heart behind Petal Honey Co—to talk about the kind of life shift you never see coming, but later realize was guidance all along. What started as a random stop at a honey-for-sale sign turned into beekeeping, bottling, rebuilding after hard losses, and building real community through local food and hands-on work. We talk about the beauty of honey, the stewardship of creation, why pollinators matter, and how “outdoor work” can quietly change a family—slowing you down, strengthening you, and giving kids purpose you can't manufacture indoors. You'll also hear about Drew and Ava's music (recorded as a time capsule of their ages), Ava's love of incubating chicks, and a childhood outdoor memory that will make you want to plan a trip and reread the books that shaped you. Three tons of flowers left in memory of the victims of the Bondi Beach terrorist attack were brought to the space where more than 160 volunteers picked and dried bouquets, ironed leaves and sorted petals. Nina Sanadze, visual artist, sculptor and curator at Goldstone Gallery in Melbourne, came up with the idea. The Petal by Petal project is being created for an exhibition at the Sydney Jewish Museum.

In this special episode recorded live at Money2020 in Las Vegas, we dive deep into what I think is the most transformative development in lending over the past decade: cash flow underwriting. I welcome back to the show Jason Rosen, CEO and co-founder of Prism Data (I last had Jason on the show back in 2019 when he was with Petal), to explore how real-time bank account data is revolutionizing credit assessment in ways that traditional credit scores simply can't match.Jason explains why the financial disruptions of 2020, from pandemic relief to widespread job changes, exposed critical gaps in conventional credit reporting, and how cash flow underwriting is filling that void. The conversation covers the breakthrough adoption of this technology by major traditional banks, the limitations of FICO scores in capturing a complete financial picture, and why cash flow underwriting represents a once-in-a-century shift in how creditworthiness is measured. In this podcast you will learn:How Jason first got interested in cash flow underwriting. The origin story of Prism Data and how it was incubated inside Petal. How he describes Prism Data today. What goes into building their unique credit models. How their CashScore is created. What matters most in how they distill all the semi-structured data into a score. Why credit decisions are more intuitive when being made with cash flow underwriting. The lending categories where they are seeing the most rapid adoption. How smaller financial institutions can avoid being left behind.Jason's view on why traditional credit models have become less predictive. How lenders are using cash flow underwriting in their application flow. How the friction in connecting a bank account is being reduced rapidly. The impact of the Chase-Plaid deal on cash flow underwriting. What sets Prism Data apart from the others in the cash flow underwriting space.Connect with Fintech One-on-One: Tweet me @PeterRenton Connect with me on LinkedIn Find previous Fintech One-on-One episodes

"Medicine Show" Over the course of nearly ten winning studio albums, four fabulous live records and a handful of EPS, the Dream Syndicate are one of those bands that nail the cover off the ball every single time. Formed in 1981 and reactivated in 2012 after nearly three decades apart, as far as I'm concerned, The Dream Syndicate are Hall of Famers, full stop. The Santa Monica-born Wynn's output as a musician is staggering: his solo career spans close to 25 albums, he's also put out records with Smack Dab, Gutterball and with Dan Stuart of Green on Red as Danny and Dusty. He's also put out several albums with his other band The Baseball Project--and if you want to talk about a deep bench, that's what the Baseball Project has--the band is comprised of Wynn, his wife Linda Pitmon of Zuzu's Petal, Peter Buck and Mills of R.E.M., and Scott McCaughey of Young Fresh Fellows. The Dream Syndicate's sophomore album Medicine Show is celebrating its 40th anniversary and what better way to commemorate it than with a four disc box set. This thing is a beast and it traces the evolution of the landmark 1984 effort that time and perspective have revealed to be one of the most enduring and accomplished albums ever made. The Dream Syndicate play with grinding beauty, bluesy howl and jangling blis and Medicine Show has never sounded better or more urgent. www.thedreamsyndicate.com www.bombshellradio.com (http://www.bombshellradio.com) www.stereoembersmagazine.com www.alexgreenbooks.com (http://www.alexgreenbooks.com) IG + BLUESKY: @emberspodcast Email: editor@stereoembersmagazine.com
Send us a textThis week, kindness is in full bloom as we celebrate Petal It Forward — the annual goodwill initiative now in its 11th year, with nearly 500 participants spreading smiles a few stems at a time. We're joined by our partners and friends from across the nation to share stories, laughter, and the joy of giving. Mimi dusts off her news reporter jacket and hits the streets to interview participants, friends, and Freshies, capturing the heart of the day of the floral industry. Thanks to groundbreaking research supported by SAF and top universities like the University of North Florida, Harvard University, and Rutgers University, we know flowers truly lift moods, reduce stress, and strengthen social bonds. We also discuss photographing flowers, with our favorite photographer.
